Having done this one before and out with other cachers i went straight for the spot however deffinatly no there need CO to replace or archive
Poked around for about 10 minutes... hands and heads in all the cobwebs. Found this... old film canister? But alas no geocache. We hope the cache is still here and we haven't uncovered the remains of a muggle pillaging.
Had my hand in every hole I could find but no joy have to log this as a DNF. Pretty sure I know where it should have been maybe has gone to deep for retrieval. Please could you check.
This stairway is far from forgotten for me. I had visited many months ago but refused to accept it as a dnf. Finally I can put this one to bed after bringing extra help to find this blighter. Tftc
Came to Ruakaka today before low tide to grab some caches and have some fun with my new camera.
YAY DNF AVENGED! Sorry but super happy to find it this time.... not sure how we missed it last time. Oh well. Blue face of sadness be gone!

A good find. Tide was out when we visited. Came up from the beach. Signed in the book as jwest
Tip: take a pen

This was an easy find. However, those stairs are pretty dangerous so it pays to take it nice and slow. Tftc
#306 Just realized I had forgotten to log this find. Much appreciated additonal hint from cache owner as I was looking repeatedly at the TOP of the stairs with no luck. Lots of holes there but no cache. Once I was directed to go a bit lower it was a quick grab. Great view but rather precarious place to be for one who feels wobbly with heights!
#11048. The stairway is close to being a hazard. Our search wasn't great, but we got there in the end. TFTC.
Another glorious day in Northland and today's destination is Marsden Cove and surrounding areas with lots of caches finds both going to and coming from the area.
After completing the Marsden City puzzle series, we drove on to One Tree Point, our first visit to the area, and we were surprised to find a sizable settlement here.
The forgotten stairway was a little daunting looking at it from above, but I made it down in without mishap. Lots of little nooks and crannies to hide a cache in so was pleased to hear StreetWalker say "found it". Now to negotiate the upwards journey. TFTC.

Found it awesome as spot well done to who ever found it, should've brought a pen with us
Out and about for the afternoon with CB to find a few caches in this area. We had a great day out and had quite a bit of fun. A couple of finds proved quite eventful too, I explain what happened on those logs. Thanks eveyone for the hides.
First find for the afternoon, a few muggles nearby as I pulled up but the cache was far enough way to not worry about them. Took a little bit to find the cache, but found it after searching a few spots.

Was heading north and was gathering some caches out this area, stopped and found the staircase, quickly descended and had a search around, soon found the cache. TFTC

Last log of the day for HappyFacedBandit's birthday Mish. Awesome afternoon touring around one tree point
Dropped off a German trackable which wants to travel NZ for a while before going home one day...
Big Geocaching day up at dawn and not home until dusk. #24. Wow what a cool spot. easy find for Lis's crew as she scampered down the steps. Took some pics of the beautiful Pohutukawa. TFTC ;D
What a wonderful little stairway. Very picturesque. I lived near here many years ago and never saw this place. Very happy to be back exploring this area through geocaching. An easy find. Collected the lovely travel bug and will show her the north. Thanks for the cache
Dropped off little Vinny the Vampire. Hope he doesn't bite the next finder as you reach into his hidey hole. We have enjoyed your company, happy travels
[green]Will be staying in this beautiful area for the next 9 weeks and was heading off for my first cache here today. [8)] Stunning view!

My 80 year old parents had a batch in Ruakaka for the week, and as I don't work the School holidays, they had invited me to join them. They enjoy the outdoors, going for walks etc. so they have become part of my Geocaching team.
Made the mistake of not reading the title. Approached from the beach, and spent a fair time clambering around searching places that I thought matched the hints.
I had actually given up and was heading back to car, when I spied the cache. As I was heading up Mum asked if I had found it? I replied "No, Yes" - saw it just at that moment. TFTC

We decided to do some caching around One Tree Point while we waited for the tide to go out before attempting theThree Little Monkeys cache. This stairway certainly has seen better days! One of us carefully descended, and the cache was quickly spotted. Thanks!
A Waitangi weekend road trip to collect a few puzzle series of caches that we have solved over the last month or so - plus any other caches that we can find on the way!
A precarious climb down observing all the potential GZs! Thank goodness we came across it almost immediately!

We found the staircase without any trouble. Mr P found the cache without getting wet. T4tc
After some rock hopping around trees we found the forgotton stairway! Not to mention a possum who had met it's demise
Took a bit of searching & lots of clamouring over rocks before we spotted the hiding place! Great hide, lovely beach! TFTC
I took the most used stairway to get to the beach and then it was a nice saunter along it to the forgotten stairway and the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Trout-fly did the honours here, co-ords out a bit for us but common sense led us to the cache. Thanks
Admired the views from the Forgotten Stairway to Heaven, managed a thin arm grab of this one, many thanks for the cache.
Another nice spot on a beautiful day. Took a while as there are quite a few holes around here. TFTC.
2.40pm. Only a few minutes on my second attempt. Container is quite a bit bigger than a film canister. I was able to leave two TB's that I have had for a while.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Nice find out with the dangerous duo on our little holiday up from Auckland, staying in ian Jones's Bach
Stopped for lunch, glorious day. Then time to look for a cache, had me going for a while, finally in hand. A friendly local muggle came for a chat, he told us he sees lots of people looking with purpose. Tftc.
Plenty of hiding places but not a difficult find. Don't put your arm under the top step the cache is not there and the whole thing moves!
wondered why there was a break in the fence, and now I know magic spot, but whew it was blowing today! my skinny mitts fit in for the grab just fine, TFTC left a signature coin
found with my grandson Declan nice hide pen seazed so will come back again later. TFTC
Didn't have the caches in the are loaded up in the GPSr so had to use the phone app.
Took a little bit of searching but found it in the end.
Nice spot.

It appears the area has been trampled by people (hopefully not cachers). So can cachers please be careful of the surroundings as this is a nice place. Cheers
We just LOVE geocaching in New Zealand where you can stick your hands in anywhere and not worry about snakes or spiders. Wow - that is SO great. We both checked GZ before on re-checking we found the cache. Don't know how we missed it on the first run. Thanks for the cache Biohazard-lij. Perhaps it's wise to advise the geocachers they don't need to walk on the bank. You can stay on the stairs. We enjoyed finding the cache on this hidden and forgotten stairway. [^][^] TN. This is our 2nd attempt to find this cache, but today's the day! bit forgot a pen. Will write our log in the cache next time we pass by. TFTC
It appears something has chewed its way into container so it has changed from a micro to a small few more toys for the children added. Be safe and have fun
Took a little while to find the cache as I was going up and down a few times. Then I spotted the hole.
Nice easy grab.
There is only a log inside the cache and the canister has a hole in it.

Nice to be able to change the blue face for a happy yellow one this time!
Had the birthday boy with me but he was too busy checking out the beach. Made the discovery on the way back up to the car. As Riser5 said container has been broken, so I placed the log sheet in a zip lock bag which will keep it dry for now but the container does need replacing. TFTC!

Saw a familiar geo-vehicle as I pulled up and joined in on the hunt with butchie bum.Gps was bouncing around a bit but butchie bum took first place honors.Didn't even have to get my hand in there or take my watch off.
Had a bit of a chat then went our separate ways .TFTC.

Headed this way after work but only had the phone. I could see that others had been searching hard but with a torn calf muscle, I wasn't in the best condition to be rock hopping tonight! I had a search around the areas I could get to but in the end just had a seat on the steps and watch the tide for awhile! I'll be back another time.
Lovely forgotten stairway to sit and take in the views while watching the tide roll on in this afternoon. GPS bouncing around, so did the rock" cha cha " first, while back and fourth. Appears someone had been here earlier as plenty of trampled vegetation nearby. NOT me. Just happened to look back and see a smilie face of Butters comming to join in the hunt. Had a nice wee chat and re think. So after rechecking a small spot yet again, managed to reach this sneaky wee cache. Don't wear a watch, so all good for me . Nice wee FTF to add to the interesting caching afternoon thanks.
