I checked this cache today and where it is hidden has become a TIP. It's COVERED in garbage. Disgusting! I didn't want to poke in there to get my cache and it is unfair to expect others to either. I suspect at least one finder only got this far and didn't actually locate the cache. They described, when asked, the area, but not the cache. When I hid the cache it was not the tip it is now. This cache had always been problematic, as the first two trees I hid it at got chopped down, then the cache got muggled more than once at the third tree hide. This was the fourth hide. Time to archive . Goodbye.
Lucky find as there are sooo many leaves in Autumn. This appears an area for a quick drink and not always the cheap stuff.A beautiful display case and nearby empty bottle of 2006 Louis Roederer Cristal Rose Champagne ($330 a pop) was nearby.I couldnt see where Christopher Skase had previously found this cache!
Found with Coybear2000. We'd had a pleasant brunch nearby with friends so we decided to go for a walk and get some caches. We walked to GZ and started searching. It almost looked like a homeless person had left all their goods here. We moved to the nearby tree but after searching there we went back to the correct one. Well, we just had to move some of all that stuff. Lots of rubbish underneath it, but poking around with a stick out popped the hide. Log signed and replaced and we put all the stuff back. There's nearly enough rubbish here to warrant a CITO. TFTC.
#3 for the day with Trodectus. Lots of rubbish at GZ, we just had to move some of all that stuff, poking around with a stick out popped the hide. Log signed and replaced and we put all the stuff back. TFTC.
Very late to log - with apologies.
Trying to catch up so we can achieve our next milestone.

Recycling is great and I was glad to make the find after a few minutes of careful searching with the hint in mind.
On top of the cache was a disposal box for used needles. I moved it a good 5m away from GZ (black box, half the size of a VHS tape).
Once that was out of the way, I was able to mark off another in this new (to me anyway) part of Canberra.

Feeling blindly through piles of leaves to find this cache. Found two empty long neck bottles too... Score!
Had to wait patiently while cars left the adjoining facility and muggles also dropped their recycling. Caught a glimpse of the cache and, after a little digging, was able to sign the log.
F(H)ound It! #2328 - @ 11:45 AM
I was over this way doing a bit of op-shopping with Dunnehunter when I mentioned that this was a nemesis cache for me. DH has found it before when in its previous position. So many leaves means that this find is a bit of a challenge but the clear description from CO in a previous log helped me to finally lay my hand on it. Glad to finally put a smiley on this one!
Thanks for the cache Goldenwattle & Decrypter

Found with previous finder Dty73 on this Lovely day. Had come before but no luck and finally found it and love new log smell! TFTC!!!

Yes, the cache was gone. Thank you for letting me know. I know the place is a sort of 'tip', but it's looking particularly like one at present around GZ. In fact, more than just around GZ. Along the path at the back fence is a pile of shoes. I'm guessing tipped out of a stolen sports bag and dumped. I didn't search in the deep leaves near the old GZ; instead I placed a replacement cache at new coordinates not far away. This will be the cache's fourth hide. The first two tree hides were cut down and the last has been problematic. I hope this one goes better, or I will have to consider the future of a cache here.
The cache is now hidden under a tree that looks like a bush (at present). Search from the concrete wall side. Under, ground level, behind leaves. Good luck.

Came with previous finder and a couple of muggles were near by but still had a attempt at this one. There was a lot of leaves and searched around were the previous finder said roughly but then more muggles came and had to go.
Finally reached our 400th cache!
I wonder if we can find 100 more by Christmas this year... time will tell

Quick find on a Sunday afternoon. Cache was out in the open, but we hid it again in the most likely spot (fork) and covered it. Safe and sound again. TFTC G&D.
Tftc. Came here a while ago when one of the hides had just been chopped down. Was very happy to get a smiley in record time tonight.
With the clue was a fairly easy find. Will go back another time to log our names as we forgot a pen. Nice walk on a cool night
Found it as "team Kangaroo" with Jean racaille and Madou76. TFTC Nice one, very cool.
Day thirteen in Canberra with BettyBoo3747. Not a very lucky day for one of the bikes. But we did do a few caches while we were waiting to get it fixed, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
A few doors down from the bike shop - how could we resist?
Lots of people going in to recycle today, but just us outside.
Brand new container and log - recycled of course!
Thanks, Robmc.

#11389. Day 13 of our two week Canberra Holiday with Robmc. Our caching day was almost non-existent today after experiencing bike problems up at the very start of the AFL Series. Googled a bike shop that might open on a Sunday and here we are waiting, waiting for it to open at 10.00am. Definitely fairly muggle free at this time on a Sunday. I thought it must have been a new cache with the nice clean, new container and sparkly new log sheet. Added our names and now back to the bike shop.
Thanks Goldenwattle
Thanks Goldenwattle
I decided to take advantage of the balmy Friday evening weather and explore some new caches. This was a straightforward find and surprisingly muggle free. TFTC
I have added another new log. What happened to the old one . There were only two pages of the new log that was supplied just two months ago, along with a new cache. At least the cache was still there. So far, this cache has had two hides chopped down and two caches go missing; now a log. Who the heck wants a small log [:(!] and what for? Rolling your own, wiping y...no, too small. Weird !!!
Anyway, all functional again.

Found easily on the way home. Have to get something for dinner though first.
This cache really needs a proper log book addition. There's only a couple of scraps of paper at the moment. Was also very exposed so I've covered it a little more.

One parking spot left, the knob in front of me takes it. Arrrrghhhh!! Quick find after my small walk. TNLNSL TFTC
I found the cache - exposed, lid off and contents emptied Managed to find a few sheets of the logbook among the leaves on the ground and random bits that I assumed came from the cache - I put them in the container after signing one and camo'ed as best as possible.
Not exactly the sneakiest cache ever, but does the trick, may want to be careful as there is a high chance of it being muggled in any clean up of the area. TFTC
After attempting to find this one a month ago (muggled) we were glad to finally be able to make the find after work today. Took nothing, left nothing (forgot our swag bag!) and replaced it in its hidey hole. TFTC!
Technically LQ Crew get FTF for this replaced cache! GO US!! TFTC, Quick and Easy!! Oh, left a bracelet for fellow cachers!
Cache has been replaced. Sorry, should have mentioned this. It's been replaced for some time.
Spent a long time rumaging through leaves for this one no luck. Area had been recently disturbed, and we found the tin lid which we've left in full view. Suggest a check?
I ran into a couple of young blokes sneaking a quick drink in on the way home. They where very interested in this caching lark, after a few minutes of rummaging and chatting one of the kids found the cache. I probable would still be looking. Thanks Goldenwattle
TFTC! Great to be able to hunt for a cache while dropping off my recycling! High muggle factor is tricky.
Walked past this on the way to Woden after leaving my car to have work, so I checked the logs. I can't see three signatures, so emailing those involved. The log needs to be signed.
The lid of the outer container was off but I was able to reattach it, but the inner container has lost its lid. I searched the huge pile of leaves, but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Oh well, I think the log will be okay. There's a plastic bag.
I took the TB.

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra (where we are at present) and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This was our 100th cache of the day. Loved the cache container, where we also discovered the Compass Travel Bug. Thanks so much for the cache.

#1199. 186 days in a row.
I dropped by here on my way in to Woden for the evening. A muggle was walking his dog in the area as I arrived, so I wandered around "aimlessly" until he had moved off a bit, then went for the cache. Cache was quite easy to find, so it must have been missing the last time I came past here and tried.
Cute container, it gets a FP from me. Dropped off a TB while I was here.

Great to see a snug dry cache on such a wet miserable day, a bag in a bag in a tin in a bin. Was very exposed, sitting in clear sight, I tucked it in a bit snugger
My goodness. This is the second cache where geoSon was having troubles finding. Turn up and find straight away

Visited on a short spree with caching buddy The Split heading from north to way down south to pick up a geo-teen. Stopped here and flashed our torch around and quickly found the well theme cache and the well weather proofed log sheet. There's no way it will get wet!
Despite the late hour of around 2210, there was still traffic going into the nearby facility - go figure!
Anyways, that for the cool cache Goldenwattle!
Cheers

A cute little cache that fit its location and name very well!
Came here after having some lunch in Woden
Parked in the only free spot available so Ambi decided to wait in the car while I went to find the cache.

I had an appointment in Phillip, so on my walk back to the bus in Woden I stopped and checked this. All is good.
I thought there used to be another tree here? Oh well, if there had been that's the second tree the cache has lost. Last time I found the cache (minus wheels) inside and the log outside the fence. This time there was no sign of the cache or log.
I have replaced the cache and log and hidden them in a new place, but very close to the previous hide. It's more exposed now, so please cover WELL. Thank you.
Cache on!

I heard last week that there was a possibility this cache had been muggled. As was in the area today I stopped to check (have previously found it) and could find no trace. There has been recent work at gz which would have left the hide very exposed. Will advise co and provide pics of gz. Sorry, Goldenwattle - this was a funky cache
Had to get out of the house to escape the relies who are here for Christmas so headed out for some caching. Lots of muggles around which made it hard to search for so was looking like this might be a DNF until I stuck me head in the right spot and saw it. Nice container, thanks for the cache Goldenwattle.
Cute and appropriate container. We wanted to grab a bite to eat at Westfield Mall but it was closed. What is that all about? Ate nearby and then quickly found the cache.

Out on a night-time caching stroll and being nearby, I figured I might as well navigate past this one. It's surprising how popular the recycling spot is at night - perhaps because most people seemed to be withdrawing rather than depositing (I've done the same when moving house). Luckily this was an easy find, able to be executed in between passing muggle trailers. TFTC!
A beautiful spring day so decided to hop on the bike and clear out a few caches in Pearce Torrens Chifley Woden. Rode about 15 kilometres (pathetic compared to the missus who currently away riding 8000 k around Australia.)
It is certainly spring, attacked 5 times at different spots by magpies. TFTC.

At a recent event, Decrypter suggested this might be a very appropriate cache for a binliner. And so it proved to be, glad i managed to make it here eventually. TFTC Goldenwattle and Decrypter.
Live the container. Tried to find this one a week ago in the dark. Collected a TB will drop it off on my caching adventures this coming weekend. TFTC
Found after visiting the nearby bike shops. The cache container wasnt very well camouflaged so I hid it a little better TFTC
On my way to Weston for a meeting. I grabbed this one on a minor detour. Dropped a TB as well. Thanks Goldenwattle.
Seems that Sunday afternoon is a good time to do this one, with only the odd car going into the waste transfer station. I checked out a couple of incorrect locations to start with, but when I had the right spot, the cache was pretty obvious. A cute container, and very appropriate. It was sitting without any cover, so I placed a bit of natural camo over it to help keep it hidden. Took a while to extract the logbook, as it had been replaced backwards, but got it out with the right tools.
TNLN - Thanks Goldenwattle & Decrypter!

Another one done. Yay! I found this as part of a daily streak I am working on - almost 2 months now. The first month wasn't so bad but now it's getting a little more challenging to make sure I don't miss a day.
Thanks go to Goldenwattle for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated. I enjoyed finding this one. It was a quick park and grab while running some errands. This cache was another "Found it" for me.
I enjoy the challenge of the cache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hidden gem. My new GPS is working great and it has really improved my geocaching experience. TFTC! Cheers. [Blue]Jump Pilot[/Blue]
