Some park & grab caching while driving back from doing the Heaphy track. Quick find here, tftc!
It was pretty wet underfoot near the cache, I was rather pleased that GK went in to find this cache. He wasn't 100% sure what he found was the cache until he opened it. That is a good idea for keeping the log easy to retrieve out of the container. It is all in good condition. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
Spent a day swimming at Salisbury Falls. Thought wed grab some caches nearby. TFTC!
I think we were lucky with this one but pretty much exactly as the hint says.
Found after searching a few other places first. The walk to the top will have to wait for another day as it was shrouded in mist and low cloud today. TFTC # 17,108
I am being taxi Mum for my son and daughter in law for the Heaphy Track and finding a few geocaches. Today's pick up day. I have until 2pm to geocache until my heart's content. I stayed in Takaka today and will drive over the hill with the kids to Nelson. Thanks bumandworker for creating this hide. It was find 9692 for me.

With a few days off work coinciding with a small window of fine weather we decided to take the caravan away for a few days to see if we needed to do anything before the Christmas break. Headed over the hill to Collingwood and found a nice, but windy, place to stay. Once we were set up we headed out for a drive and decided to take the journey up to the start of the Heaphy Track.
It was a bit of a hunt for this one with both of us going over and over the same ground. Eventually I spotted something and sent Andy in for the retrieval. Log signed and returned as found. tftc

.Quick snag and tag here. Cheers. No time to walk the walk today so I will have to return.
Its Saturday and we are off exploring around Collingwood and up towards the Heaphy.
Its a long weekend to Takaka, with Collingwood and Farewell Spit in the mix, with Zara Toby and Bullertroutss Bro. So lets go exploring. Visited lots of awesome places. But never enough time. I will be back.

Another quickish find. Quite interesting in the dark but my torch soon found it. It’s harder to replace them too, but we got there. TFTC Bum.
Day 1 of 3 day trip for Capperz and I with the overall goal of dropping off some keen bikers at the Heaphy track start near Collingwood and not failing to pick them up late on Sunday morning at the finish north of Karamea.
We had one job then, and happy to say we did it.
On the way, of course, we found some caches.......
We got a later start than planned from Blenheim due to ferry delays for some of the troops, the net result being the drop off at the track start was in the dark.
Capperz and I had accomodation booked in Takaka for the first night, so we attempted a few PnGs in the dark on the way there. But we had to book into our lodgings, so we only managed a handful.

Pulled off the main road in the dark and Ricardinho headed into the trees where his phone was pointing, after a good search he soon had the cache in hand. All good and replaced as found.

This weekend I've offered up my services as a getaway driver. Nothing as dramatic as a criminal bank robbers assistant, more a chance for a group of work colleagues and associates to get away to do the Heaphy Track on their bikes. Ably assisted by ricardinho.nz as a co-pilot and driver of the geocache seeking devices utilising the route which I'd done a full and comprehensive list of before departing. The plan was fairly simple; early finish Friday arvo and take them over from Woodbourne to the Collingwood/Brown's Hut end of the Heaphy and collect them from Kohaihai bridge end late on Sunday morning. A late start on Friday to get underway as a result of a delayed ferry arrival had us around 30-40 minutes late getting on the road and some fluffing in Motueka for dinner added enough minutes on to mean that we got to the track end on dark, and never got to the digs in Motueka until around 8.45 PM. There was still some time for a bit of 'in the dark' caching where I got 3 finds before hitting the sack, after a couple of refreshments, and a conversation with an aggressive illustrator from Wellington.
Day 1 was always going to be more about the driving than the caching, but still nice to get a few more finds along the Tasman region back roads.

Another track and day-tramp found that I shall make a mental note to attempt one day.
So much outdoors - so little time.
A quick find here.
Thanks

Found once I was back down from my home up the track. Under 5 hours there and back. Tftc
On my last full day in Collingwood I decided to venture out towards the Heaphy Track signing off the caches out that way.
The existing log was so munted I replaced it with a waterproof one.
Cheers for the cache.

This brought back memories for me as I have climbed up this mountain in the past . An old man who lived in this area in the 1930s once told me oil bubbled out of the ground not far from here , they could run their motors on it I would like to know exactly where. The cache was very wet too. Thanks b & w.
Off the beaten track today in the rain. Hope we manage to come back in better weather. TFTC.
Out having a weekend caching in and around Collingwood.
Today started with heading down the Aorere Valley.
Last cache in this valley on this trip.
Came here for the FTF on Mt Stevens, quite a few years ago now.
Container was found out in the open. Returned it to be under the pile of nearby rocks.

A quick stop here on our way to the start of the Heaphy. Cache left less visible than we found it.
Thank you bumandworker.

Climbed Mt Stevens about 10 years ago. Today's visit was very much a park and grab on our way to the Heaphy Track start. Tftc
#10288. The parking was appreciated, and we found the cache pretty quickly. Mt Stevens wasn't an option for us today! TFTC.
We spotted a tell tale pile of stones amongst the trees so I squeezed my way in to have a look but they must have been a decoy as no cache was found under them. I had another look in case I missed something, but no. Then StreetWalker noticed the cache about a metre away, laying out in the open. We replaced it close to where it was found, but with some stones to cover. TFTC.
We quickly spotted the hiding place, and retrieved the interestingly different container. TFTC
Holidaying with tmann421 in the North of the South Island. Many thanks to all the Co's for making this such a memorable trip.
Nice find here.

A wet day in the Aorere, or should that be a bloody wet day in the Aorere. Thankfully it was a quick find, but it didn't matter much as I was wet through by now. Find Number 7600. Cheers and TFTC
We are doubtful of ever doing the track - but happy to have a find at the start. Heading to the start of the Heaphy, caching on the way of course.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Quick find on a beautiful day as we drove up to the Heaphy to see the new bridges. TFTC
The track looks like a bit of hard work. Was happy to just search out a cache at the start and leave the exertions to others. TFTC .
I'm not going up there again! Nice to remember the day I did though. The pain seems to have subsided now.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

Found on a day's exploration around the region, letting the geocaches lead me to all the interesting places. A quick find, it would be good to do the walk up Mt Stevens some time. Signed log, TFTC
Quick find once a muggle pig hunter left while dropping M and Orange Flame at the start of the track TFTC
FTF The last time I was here was to do the cache at the top of Mt Stevens in June 2011. That expedition like this one was a success but that expedition unlike this one ended in a bit of automotive embarrassment

Needless to say I was very careful in my vehicle maneuvering today. TFTC, Biggles.
