Revisiting Tamworth after living here for a brief moment 35 years ago. The goal was to join in on parkrun and to turn as many markers to yellow smilies!
Thank you future knights for your contribution to this great game.
On a mission today to hike to the summit. Got to this one and whist catching my breath I read through a few previous logs and soon had the cache in hand. Log signed and placed back in the little camouflaged spot and continued skyward.

Came up here after work in the afternoon. Plenty of muggles heading back down the track interrupting me as I searched (or pretended to be catching my breath!).
With limited time and already being unlikely to have time (daylight) to reach the summit I decided to push on.
Thanks For The Hide.

It’s great to be out here walking around and checking out the view after so many days of rain thank you for placing
No time to do the whole mountain walk this morning but trekked up the steep path to grab this one which was not in the expected spot! Thanks.
Didn’t bring a pen. Early morning walk for the geohubby and grabbed a few caches on the way. TFTC
Oh my goodness, what am I doing walking these walks in the middle of the day in the middle of summer, this was a great cache and loved the camo over it,now will I make it to the next cache.TFTC
Slogged it up the hill and back down, knowing I had another shot at finding this cache. And not in the rain this time Hung my daypack on a branch with the intention of settling in for a long haul and seconds later, um, found the cache ???
The camo is in three pieces and as the geo-trail extends further up the hill, guessing it has been trodden on. I found the cache around 5m closer to the track than where the GPSr was pointing up the slope.
Exploring Flagstaff Mountain has been fun

We didn’t make it as far as I would have liked on this path, but enough to circle back and find the cache.
Got as far as the wallaby rocks turnoff and picked this up on the return journey on the "mountain goat" trail
Left Million Dollar Views and walked up the small rocky track . Up, we went GeoIan had a tumble but all good for him. Found the cache. TFTC.
In Tamworth for some speedway, and cacheing as an added attraction. Should have started this way earlier, but they tried to run the speedway this morning, as last night it was too wet. And was this morning still. So we left Milion Dollar Views about 10:30, and struggled up the rocky goat track. Only got lost once, on the wrong trail somehow. Yellow signs, white signs, its a wonder i got anywhere. Approached GZ, and I immediately saw a trail to a log, which is a decoy. Madrabbitoh found gz to be further along, so ventured in up there. Once i had checked my surrounding area, the phone was pointing over there, so as i stepped over a small sapling, i tripped and fell. No injury, but my pride, and carried on the search. Mad ends up in the same spot 10 minutes later, and sees my pen on the ground. IS this yours? Why yes it is, and my log roller and tweezers should be very close as well. So was the cache. It stands out from the track, once you find it, but we could not see it beforehand. TFTC.
This one took us a while to find but we managed to sign and replace just before some muggles arrived. TFTC!
Morning walk with a quick rain shower I had to get at least a few in today
Thanks Iee737 in the activity your post gave me a bit more confidence that I was on the right track or rather the left going up

We couldn't spend all weekend on the roadside, so decided to hit the trail today, the whole family making a morning out of it, and with 4/4 and a trig, was a great caching outing. The track was pretty hard, mainly due to the rocks, but a great walk - highly recommended. From our photos, it took us 75 minutes to get to the top finding the caches on the way.
Tricky cache. Our coords kept pushing us to the right side of the track, but the hint said 'left side' - now, is that left side going up or down?? We turned over a thousand rocks and checked everywhere we could think of, a definite GZ 'structure' wasn't jumping out (that's because there isn't one). Samuel spotted what he called a geotrail, so I checked it out, and near stood on the cache. Very nice hide, in good shape too.
TFTC!
If you're still reading - search the north side of the track..... our coords were S31 05.161 E150 57.081....

Looked all over everywhere for ages in all directions. Couldn't see what others thought was an obvious spot.
I returned to this place of a previous defeat,
to see if I could find where a cache I could greet
So from the lookout again I strolled,
no make that ran to the place of the cache
Standing trackside again,
I poked around for that thing in your shoe that can't be found
It took me ten minutes, or maybe more,
before I discovered what I had already ignored
No wonder I couldn't find this cache !!
It;s not one of *those* !!
It's one of *them*
After ignoring this thing for far too long,
I lifted its lid and the DNF was gone !!

Caching around Tamworth with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. Mr T and Mr W decided to walk to Flagstaff Mountain and then onto Bald Hill collecting caches as they climbed. TFTC

Caching in and around Tamworth, we picked up a few caches with Mr Whitewebbs and this was one of them.
After picking up the caches at the lookout we then tackled the caches on the walking trails in this area taking us about 3 and a half hours to do the circuit finding 5 caches on the way. We had great views from walking the trails, a good day out with Mr W, seeing the views of this area. An easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Was out for a hike when I remembered there was a cache up here. Logged it on the return leg. TFTC
Found with my boys on a boys quick camping trip up here for two nights. After finishing work I picked up the boys and headed off straight away. Next day we headed out to find as many non 1.5/1.5 rated caches as were around. Some fun and cheeky caches around these parts.
This was our big walk for the weekend. Walked in from the million dollar view and just kept walking. Took a little bit to find. But that was fine as it allowed us to cool down from our walk.
Thanks for the walk and cache!

Our first find for this morning while out walking the various walking tracks SL TFTC
A lovely morning for a stroll up the hills
So off I plodded from Oxley Lookout.
The walk up the hill in the humid weather got the legs warmed up pretty good
GZ reached,
and a good 20 minute search later ...
... I give up !! [:o]

Staying in Tamworth for a few days, and thanks to caching I was taken to this great walking track. After a bit of a search the cache was found. It blends in so well.

After spending a fair bit of time the previous day when it was very hot and did not find and a rethink overnight came back for another go.Not so hot today and had some water. Still puff puff up the hill.An easy find today. How did I miss it?. Then upward ever upward to the next.TFTC
Time out from country music before the heat.a nice hide and cammo, explained geocaching to several passers by, that's about as far as I can make it today, tftc
Come from Port Macquarie area encountered this type of cache before. Great camouflage. TFTC
Geohubby spotted something a bit odd after I had spent a fair amount of time grovelling around on the ground in the wrong spots. Very neat - we have not come across one of these caches before. Now off up the track to find the next one.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
After work i came up here to find a couple of finds. I passed this on the way up to It's Time For A Break! but couldn't;t stop as there were muggles walking slowly in the same direction. On my return to the car i found it. TFTC
Up here in Tamworth from the central coast for TCMF gigs this week. It's a stoopid hot day to be heading out to Flagstaff Mountain for a hike lol ..but it needs to happen and today was the only time left I had to make it work ..and it was well worth it! I had about 5 or 6 caches planned for the journey with this one being the next one to find on the return to Oxley Lookout from the Flagstaff trig. Really enjoyed these Kamilaroi Walking Tracks today! By the time I'd got here to GZ I was stuffed! Finished the last bit of my water and began the search just before sunset. 5 mins into the hunt I was beginning to think this was going to be tough as nothing was jumping out yet. That's when I looked in just the right direction and spotted something ever-so-slightly out of place. Brilliant hide! At that moment, I could hear a muggle trail blazer appearing from above so I went back to my off-loaded back pack to eliminate any suspicion of what was really going on. Once she had passed, I SL and replaced as found. Cache dry and in good condish, future knights. Thanks for a very enjoyable find. I've not seen this particular camo before it is perfect for a location like this lol! Have a FP. I really like everything about this cache including the very inconspicuous GZ.

Took a little while searching everywhere to find this crafty cache. Only time to complete part of the walk today. Weather about to bucket with rain.
Never seen one like this before, very cool. Coordinates had us searching all over the place. Tftc!
Found this well camo'd cache whilst walking the track with a muggle friend, Callie. TFTC!
Found by Pat & Cheryl at 10:03 am. Thanks for bringing us to this great location and helping us to increase our tally. Really enjoyed this cache future knights and this is #1205 so far for us.
Using the update coords from an earlier find, I eventually saw what turned out to be the one. TFTC future knights
We spent AGES hunting this one down. Having read ALL the previous logs one of them gave us some false information. We widened our search area but still no success. Eventually we both agreed to give up. Mrs. Herbz was waiting for Mr. Herbz to catch her up and surveyed the area one last time. She must have been standing at just the right spot and, yes, something did jump out at her about 9m east of our GZ. The coordinates that worked for us are
S31 05.168 E150 57.083. TFTC.
S31 05.168 E150 57.083. TFTC.
Thought it was not going to be possible to find but, with persistence ,we did! Thanks!
Found at 3:48 PM GAFF4.
After the previous DNF I wasn't going to finish the day without a find. This one nearly proved to be another DNF though as I totally had the wrong idea of what the cache hide was. I ended up calling a friend in Yepoon to get me on the right track after spending about 40 minutes in the heat searching for stones Was looking way too close to the track which is where the GPSr was indicating [B)]
Didn't even see the sights as I was so obsessed in searching - but I bet they are very nice
Thanks future knights.

Gotcha !!! TFTC If the weather had been better we'd have gone on to the others up here. Next time.
Have a meeting in town today so took a few moments before it started to have a look around Tamworth and the added height at this locality certainty cuts down on travel time. Ie great views of Tamworth and surrounds. After a little exercise it took a few moments to narrow down GZ but tell tale signs narrowed things down and the log was soon signed. camo is very fitting. Thanks for placing.
Well ,here we go ,it looks all up hill from here..found all aok.. thanks future knights...
I hope this is a safe trip. I've let hubby go on the trek on his own. He's found this one, and is on his way for the other two! I'm sitting at Oxley Lookout waiting for his safe return! TFTC
Started off looking on wrong side of track while following the GPS. Hint put us right, and as we stood back to survey GZ the "not quite right" jumped out at us. TFTC!
Ps happy one year birthday to this cache!!!
Ps happy one year birthday to this cache!!!
We hiked up the hill and set up a search at GZ.
Muggles didn't seem interested in what we were doing and were coming from both directions. Unfortunately we couldn't find it (mainly not understanding which side the hint was referring to as the track is both ways)
Thanks for the exercise future knights!

EDIT, 24/11/2019
Owing to the original log being Deleted and Archived, (after being on the site more than FIVE (5) years, I'm rightly reinserting it, for the visit on Thursday, 20th March, as follows:
1710 GAFF1 After a reasonable search on the way up, with MVMB alternating looking and keeping 'look-out', I had thought that we could always as easily have a look on the way down. Wrong there!
For such a 'rugged track' (ABSOLUTELY NO WAY YOU COULD GET A WHEELCHAIR ANYWHERE THERE) I was flabbergasted at the number of walkers on the track. We had to keep a good ear out for muggles coming both directions, and try to look like we had something else to do - CITOing the usual 'pre-occupation', as we had found some more cans as well as bottles.
Eventually found the cache, which seemed to have nothing to do with the cache title; dry and intact.
TNLN, coordinates reasonable - about 4m from where we had 'centred' the search.
Brought through for mileage: 12-12-12 Event, 3 Bros NSW, Auckland NZ'13, Aussie Christmas Geocoin, B 2 B Travel ingot, CII-35Z, CITO - Upper Swan and Beyond geocoin, Explorer Tag - Jeremy, GCookie EARTH Cache 10 year Celebration Coin, GxPROXY Traveller - MATT, Iconic Bridges 2012, Mei letzter Schilling, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, NZ Mega 13 signature, NZ Mega 2013 GCookie Coin, Semmels first 1,000 Geocoin, The Cache Koala, X-Mas Geocoin 2011, and trackable shirts.
TFTC future knights
[I'm assuming that each log for the Trackables would have remained.]

No luck on the way up, tho we weren't interrupted by muggles, like we were later.
The GPS was jumping around a bit, and found the cache within 6 m of GZ. Very well camoed.
All good there - just sorry about the lat logging - 11/5

I headed up from the Oxley Lookout car park to achieve a goal of reaching the top. So I was glad to find the other two caches further on. I search on my way up and then again on my return, however no luck. I will be back to have another look next year, thanks.
To encourage others to try this cache, it is only half a km and a 10 minute walk to find cache. I love container, blends into its environment so well. Off I climb in this cool morning trek.
It was predicted to be 29 degrees in Tamworth today ... too hot for the Kamilaroi walk? Well, it's probably only going to get hotter and there is a breeze. Breeze was a bit of an understatement when we arrived and by the time we got to GZ we were more than ready for a rest. A clever cache that could have taken a little or a long time ... lucky for us it wasn't too long and FTF at 12.06pm. TFTC future knights, took TB, left some swaps. Now on to It's Time For a Break.
