Back in 2011 we were at Groundspeak and we heard about the demise and replacement of caches relating to the ET Trail and we said to ourselves that we would return to the USA and do that trail. We had completed Route 66 that year and knew we liked power trails. This week we succeeded in our goal together with another couple from Australia (The Drovers) and our honorary team member from Hawaii (Skotlee). It was an epic caching run, luckily the weather was kind to us and we did not experience severely hot temperatures. The dust, rough trails and prickly plants provided the most challenge. We had 5 people in the one car taking turns at fetching caches so we never got exhausted. We cached till very late and got up very early and finished in 4 days. We saw antelope, chipmunks, prairie dogs, hares, lizards, spiders, horses and cows. We enjoyed looking around at Belmont and we thrilled to the sight of the canyons in the Toiyabe National Park. Our overnight stop in Rachel was excellent as we happily munched on our Alien Burger. What an experience the last 5 days have been. We enjoyed finding this cache and our thanks to Clay4&whtwolfden for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this amazing location. Fav point alloc.
One more thing to add - if you think there are shops out here you are wrong. Make sure you bring plenty of food and water if you are doing the trail. We had to revisit Tonopah several times to fuel up to complete the trails and we used more fuel than we expected on the soft surface and probably the stopping and starting No fuel in Rachel.

USA road trip 2015, traveling with Liz and Bruce. Week 2, day 4.

Today was the 4th day on the trail, and we made an effort to finish it.
With the weather being kind to us, it made the task all the more enjoyable.

Many thanks for placing this cache, Clay4&whtwolfden, for us and others to find.

Day Eight of our Ten Day "Nevada Geocaching Adventure". Cool
Ghosts, Aliens, and Pirates.......Oh My.......Turns out it's the perfect combination. Smile
We started our day where we left off yesterday and soon found ourself in Belmont....the highlight of this day of caching. It was quite early so we tried to keep quiet.....we didn't want to encounter any angry ghosts. Surprised Somehow we managed to loose track of time while exploring this really cool Ghost Town and taking advantage of the many photo ops.
From there we took the road less traveled, encountering a cattle drive along the way, and managed to make it to the Daugherty Ranch in time for a well deserved lunch break before heading over to find the caches along the trail that leads through the Canyon and on to Little Fish Lake - enjoying the amazing scenery (including the wild horses) along the way.. [^]
We ran into one area where the MOOgles had sabotaged about 20 caches - we did our best to replace them with what we had managed to come up with at 6:30 in the morning in Tonopah but we think the darn cows were already eating the replacements on our return trip. Twisted
All in all it was another fantastic day exploring the E.T. Highway.
Thanks for the many caches.

Just now getting around to logging this run. Spent 7 days in Nevada (Las Vegas) and made an effort to hit the Infamous Highway to log this epic run. Been away from the sport of Geocaching for a few years, however I'm back and need to bite the bullet and log this run! Thanks for the effort and placement of the caches.

So glad to be back in the area chasing down some more of the ET hides once again! As always it was a blast! This run took me along a few scenic roads and through a cool old mining town. Great job and thanks for your hard work with the series, SL

US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 16. The last day of E.T. series caching. The final area at the old town was an interesting place to explore. The final few caches were on some of the most rustic tracks we visited, but we made it in one piece. After the ET was over we took a bit of time doing other caches in the region. A few interesting spots out in the middle of nowhere. Thanks.

ET Day 6. starting from Tonapah and our final day on the power trail and probably the best part of the trail with a bit more diversity and through a old ghost town which was super cool.. phew

Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, South & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.

Visiting from Australia and found with Albida and mtrax during our 4 week US adventure...

Last day on the trail with only 190 to the finish......plus the non ET ones.

Again, many thanks for this mega series, it was a great time and hopefully we can all come back to finish some the local art series some day....soon.

Greetings from Australia.....

Down from Ontarion Canada to do the ET trail. First time doing a trail anywhere near the size of this and overall we enjoyed the experience. Lots of scenery and definitely ran into different weather ranging from sunny to hail to snow. Did the trail in 4 days doing 600 caches/day. This left us another couple of days to go visit the Hoover Dam and see the strip in Vegas before flying home. Thanks for putting out all these caches. Now time to log them all.......lol

We’re from Quebec (Canada) and since we heard about the E.T. series, we have been anxiously looking forward to this trip. This is a real paradise for cachers.
On our sixth day, we were anxious to pick up the last 400 caches from the E.T. series and to visit the city of Belmont. The road between E.T. 2201 and 2218 is fair and didn’t give us any trouble. We also enjoyed our passage in the ghost town of Belmont. There is still some activity in the city and there even is a saloon where you can take a break. The road for the last part of the E.T. series (greater than 2,350) is a little rougher and we were quite happy to finish the 2400 caches of this great E.T. series. Cool
Because it was still daylight, we picked up a few additional caches in the town of Tonopah to complete our day.
A very special thanks to Clay4 & whtwolfden for the E.T. series. We really had a lot of fun picking up all those smileys. Smile.
