TFTC! 19 September 2024 10:33:00PM 8491 thanks to n0w0rries for the cache! Out in the area tonight (well kind of, everything is relative!) this one had been on our list for a long time. Dinner with the CO after doing the frying pan cache, Gave us the nudge we needed. Arrived and the hunt started. Its 10:00 and the bright lights are still on people practicing soccer. No luck and we spread out! However the magic time is 10:30pm and the lights go out! Didnt take much longer with the greater darkness and all was clear! Thanks for the cache!

TwoEms were at home, puzzling over the lost Aztec civilizationmusing in our imaginary winged arm chair and tweeds. With a little research and a chimerical puff on our spurious smoking pipe, we hunted around on our devices and eventually clued-in on the map.Intrigued, we waited until two hours before midnight to put on our fedora hats, and left our cozy humble abode to explore the cold city streets of Melbourne.Upon arrival at the mystical site, there was no doubt of the link to the ruins in Mesoamerica. The ground plot has an obelisk with a pyramid and is surrounded by smaller temples and ceremonial sites. How can anyone not see this obvious connection? Yes! The Aztecs were definitely in Melbourne.Excited by the brilliancy of the PhD student, we wanted to find his coveted notebook hidden with all his research notes. We shined our torches around hoping to find the trail, but alas, we could not see any firetacks. We wandered aroundthe ground was wet and the temperature was dropping to near zeroour toes numb and frozen, wishing we were at home and warming ourselves by our dreamy crackling fireplace. After reading some previous logs, and widening our search, we found a shining lightjust oneand a floating hallucination. It was bitter cold and way past our bedtime, but nothing was going to stop us now. Distracted by this curiosity, we spent some time looking at the fantasy before we concentrated on the hint.Oh this was goldgeo-gold. This hide was magic and worthy of a sacrificial heart. We signed the clean log, and left a small offering before calling it a night. When we got home we put on our slippers and dressing gowns and made ourselves a hot chocolatesavouring the ancient secret of the Aztecs. Thank you for the cache.

After having visited a couple of times before, a PAF and a message to the CO, I tried visiting again during the day to get this allusive cache. Unfortunately for me I still came up empty handed as nothing was there one day I will find you.

I was excited to have swiftly solved this puzzle yesterday, but in true Tiz13 fashion, I didn't read the attributes.. Psst read the f in attributes. So this cache went on today's list. It was an awesome day weather wise, so I took a stroll after finding another cache a few streets away. Gz had me at a particular place. I systematically started my search, coming up empty-handed. The geo circle started, with other objects getting searched. Again and again, I continued to return to my Initial GZ. Scratching my head, I reached out to the CO for a hint. It was then that the Doh moment happened.
The CO reply was .
I wasn't happy, and so the Geo circle started again as I pretended it was nighttime, hoping an Aztec symbol would show itself. In fact, l thought I saw a few, lol, but no, they were not the symbols I was searching for. I wondered about just about to give up resigned to the fact I would have to return some other time.
But then I saw something shinny and thought could it be, something mentioned in another post caught my eye. With renewed vigor, I started searching, and YIPEE
I found the cache. The log was mush, though, and I did not have anything on me to replace it, so a photo was taken before cache was returned to its hide.

Puzzle solved and undertaken with dalerious Razz.

This was our first cache night cache completed on a very busy and ultimately very late night.

We loved solving the puzzle, and then, arriving at posted coordinates and starting the adventure, with it's very surprising twist, had us both scratching our heads in wonderment.

It was all over too quick, which probably was a good thing in hindsight, as the field was full of people training in their beloved sport of choice, and walking around with head torches blazing for an extended time may have sparked mere curiosity, which as we know, killed the cat.

Actually, they were all too busy to take any notice, and the light pollution radiating from the field drowned out our lights anyway Big Grin.

Thank you Arthur and Dent for placing the cache, and n0w0ries for the fun in the dark TwistedRazz.

Melbourne was the place to be this weekend, and the weather for this time of year was very kind.
As usual, we had a pre determined list of chosen caches to complete, and we are chuffed to say, we completed them all, and some Cool.
We were out in the dead of night by light visiting some truly remarkable caches.
We signed a Challenge Cache for night cache stats that I qualified for, just this weekend Smile.
Overall, it was another great time away, and it is because of you cache owners. We are truly grateful to the best of the best, that are dedicated and committed to this wonderful game.

Found with catnap777 on another marvelous weekend adventure in and around Melbourne. Cool
We had a long wish list and a tight schedule and topping that list was to pick up the last couple of night caches needed to qualify for the Australian Night Cache Masters Challenge (GC32ZJY) that we had also yet to sign. Razz
We had a very late, but very successful night on the town. Twisted
Thanks Arther and Dent for placing this Mystery Cache with a twist, and thanks n0w0rries for looking after it (and the gentle nudge at G.Z). Wink [^]

I am down from Gold Coast for a couple of weeks so decided to do a few select find while I am here.

There is a night challenge and I do like night cache so here I am.

I had to get help with step 1 but once I had that I was on my way with horse and shaggsbaggs to help me.

We had a little bit of wandering around until we made the final find.

With team work come success

Cache #11662
Being a fan of both Arthur and Dent and having start co-ords for quite a while this one has been on the next time in Melbourne list for quite a while.
Was hoping to show the sister and her husband a much longer fire tack trail but this was close by and needed doing.
Waited till it was nice and dark and walked up to where we needed to be and started looking. Wasn't long before my sister found the very interesting tree and soon after the cache itself.
Thanks to n0w0rries for putting out this cache for us to find.

I'd solved the riddle many moons ago.

Tonight with hours spared I headed to gz to scout.

After around 20min of wandering and shining I was having no luck at all.

So I conjured the courage to contact Acamapichtli whom soon helped me on my path.

A short search later and the prized gold & silver revealed itself.

Happy to find some long lost love here.

Fav for the fun!

Couple of visits to find this one. I had to wait for it to be enabled again and I was passing by today. Today I was lucky found what I wanted just before a large group of walkers passed beside the park.
Good puzzle and reflectors well spotted eventually.

I was in the area looking for another cache so I thought that I would chance a daytime hunt as I rarely get over this part of town and almost never at night. I managed to make my way to the GZ and get my name in the log (more luck than judgement!!). TFTC.

After quite a few too many months Suscoe finally located the cache and signed the log today.
Thanks for this interesting cache experience.
A little cool today.

We returned at night to complete! Wasn’t easy but Lady membsec had a feeling and followed her gut feeling and came up with the goods! Nice camo. Then we could see what to follow! Do we believe? Not sure

Sorry for not reading properly......did when first solved but that was awhile ago and we forgot. Hard to remember every cache!

Nicely done and thanks for the nudge!

15-Feb-19
We looked and looked but couldn’t find! It isn’t far from where we are staying so on our way up we searched and on our way back we searched! Don’t know if it is cache blindness or missing.

10-Feb-19
Solved a looong time ago, and I even had a hunt at the coords before realising it was a firetack night cache. However today in daylight my keen eyes spotted something and then I was on my way to the cache.
Thanks for keeping this going Smile

If that's the PhD students research he might stay a student forever...
Anyways we found and signed the logbook, got our share on moscito bites and head back home happily. Thank you for placing!

First nightcache!! I enjoyed that, not a long track though. TFTC

12-Dec-18
I first solved the code when this one was first released but living out of Melbourne I had to wait ages to be here after dark to do Part 2.
Unfortunately that coincided with the removal of the said pole during restoration works here so even though I knew pretty much where GZ was going to be when I swung past here early this morning I was anticipating a bit of a search.
However soon spotted something promising and the interesting cache came to life.
Thanks for this cache.

The Bromance of Crookedpete, Swellerfungus and Seffnjarah were off to Melbourne for a long weekend road trip from Brisbane, with the main aim of attending the Parkville Mega as well as collecting a number of caches on our rather lengthy hit list.

This solved puzzle was on our to-do list and after a visit to the Mega event we decided to call in on the way past. After a failed search (which included getting busted by a passing jogger who was a lapsed geocacher himself) we eventually realised this was a night cache and the blazing daylight wasn't going to assist us on our quest. As luck would have it, our night time caching happened to take us this way again and so it was take 2 in much more appropriate conditions. The first few trail markers were found quickly but then couldn't find anything further to lead us on. Took a while for the penny to drop that the last marker may well be GZ and a short search soon proved our assumption right with the container located and logbook signed. TFTC

Day 7 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne.
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire once in Melbourne. So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space. Cool
Today we set out and found the Handbag series in the morning. Razz
That done we started the Merri Creek Trail and any others in the vicinity. [^]

On the way home we returned to this one in darkness and wer surprised just how short the trail was. Surprised In fact at GZ we were still looking to find more reflectors! Surprised Instead we found the cache. Smile

**Thanks n0w0rries for this cache. ** Big Grin

The Melbourne Mega has been and gone so now the hardest part for me is to log all these great caches that we have found over the past six days. We have had six days of full on caching which started with a few high D/T caches in Ballarat using kayaks, ladders, etc the assault started last Wednesday 14th November 18 but not without a few mishaps that included a tree fall, a number of bike mishaps and numerous bloodletting. Some of us look like the walking wounded but you just have to keep soldering on as there is always another cache to be found. I also have to include the stiff legs from all the kilometres walked.
Most logs were signed BABS which stands for brisal5, AnyMules, Bushfire and S.A Sewer Rats to save space in all the log books. This will a generic log owing to the huge number of caches to be logged so I would like to thank all cache owners for the time and effort it takes to place these caches and also for the maintenance of the said caches.
Again thanks to all the cache owners that helped to make the 2018 Melbourne Mega the great success that it was, so now to look forward to St. Arnaud next year where you will be blown away with the quality of the hides.
Save up your favourite points as you will use heaps in this area.

I was over here for the Parkville MEGA with Brisal5, Anymules and Bushfire.
This was an epic trip, of 12 days and 10 nights.
Out finding, and the sights caches.
Signed as BABS. tftc

Returned tonight after my search earlier in the day. This time with the required stick of brightness and followed the sparkly things. This time we came up with the foods. Log signed as BABS!

Thanks for the cache n0w0rries.

Had solved the first part a long time ago and came to visit it today. Hadn’t checked the cache description to see that I needed to follow fire tacks. Give it’s still daylight, that’s a little difficult. I’ll have to return again another time when I may be able to see the path to the next location.

Day 2 of the 3 day whirlwind "Bromance" Parkville Mega FIFO trip. Our plan today is to collect an eclectic mix of rarer caches around inner Melbourne before attending the Mega later in the afternoon. The target caches for the day were virtuals, old caches to fill jasmer holes, unloved caches, rarer DT types to help with our next DT loops, challenge caches and the necessary qualiting caches for them.

Having finally logged in at the Mega late on Saturday afternoon,we were now heading for our mediocre 2 1/2 star (but cheap) accomodation to the north of Melbourne. Failing to recall the details, we searched for the cache before we realised this was a night cache and it was still very light. As it turns out we returned after dark, but that is the subject for another log

Thanks for the cache, n0w0rries .

Pete

Back again - after dark this time with headtorches and some new found enthusiasm. A brisk walk in the cool and soon enough the firetacks stopped. A quick search and the logbook was ours. Have a crooked favourite point for something a little different tonight

Thanks for the cache, n0w0rries .

Day 3 of the Bromance (from Brisbane, Queensland) trip to the Parkville Mega. We found a less salubrious nights accomodation in a seedy motel. We marvelld at how old it was, and had a breakfast service winsow to boor! Ah the memories.
Our targets today are virtuals, interesting D/T's, letterboxes, puzzles, earthcaches, wherigos, and challenge caches.
We stuffed this one up by not seeing that it was a night cache. We rectified this by swinging by a few hours later! Then we Wayyyy overthought it, and tried to look too far! haha. Got it in the end!
In most cases logs were signed as the "Bromance" that represents Swellerfungus, CrookedPete and seffnjarah to save space in the logsheets.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed and maintain these caches.

the Aztecs played on the fact that Cortez was in fact the god, Quetzacotl and this made them easy to conquer. This Aztec, however, knew I wasn't Quetzacotl. First search, nothing. Second search, nothing. Third search, well...they say the 3rd time's the charm, but still, nothing. The CO pointed out a spot that I already thought of as a logical spot, and I searched there the other night with no joy Sad

I was still of the frown on my map, and even after a long day on little sleep last night, I got an oBike and I got out there on this misty night and finally got Aztec. I feel like Cortez. Perhaps I'll turn into Pizarro and conquer the Incas next...

Mystery #98 solved, Australian cache #904 found. TFTC n0w0rries

After three nights in a row of flattening both my phone and torch, I have to officially log a DNF on Aztec. With some help from the CO I was given some advice that could put me on the right track. Last night I was here for 30 minutes and tonight I was here for nearly an hour...until my torch battery finally gave out Sad.

Perhaps a check is needed...

After a long caching day with Ausfox; and Neville_devil that was coming to an end but not before we ended up in the city well after dark.
A nice short night cache for our last find for the day/night.

Out for the usual day, early start, late finish, memorable adventures with SimsFamily and Neville Devil.
As it was getting on for midnight this was our last cache for the day. With coords attained we made our way to wpt1 to continue our search.
With keen eyes we made our way to GZ.

Log signed and replaced as found

Apologies for the late log. My family were away on a trip to New Zealand so I planned a few evening excursions to cache after work. Today’s target was the inner north culminating with this night cache with a fellow cacher. I headed here straight from work in Frankston, made 11 finds to the south and west and then headed to the agreed meeting point. I had already worked out the first step and as we worked from there the CO turned up to observe us. We bumbled around for a bit as I tried to explain some of the nuances of night caching to liambaxter88. We backtracked, rechecked and searched for a clue. In the end it was Liam who made the find with my previous night caching experience hardly helping at all. A tricky one and observations were lodged with the CO at the time! My 12th and final find of an enjoyable evening. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache Arthur and Dent and to n0w0rries for keeping it going.

I was in the area for another location based game when I came across this solved puzzle. Armed with some knowledge of the nature of the hide and I got super lucky with the nearby players heading away, I grabbed the cache and quickly performed signing duties before returning into place.

Many thanks to Arthur and Dent and now n0w0rries for the cache. TNLN.

Well solving this one was a saga and without the help of n0w0rries we are not sure if we would have got there. At the start it took a bit to figure out which way to go, and when that hit a dead end, we placed this one on the 'come back to' list. In the last week or so, we decided to knock it off. Again, we went the same way, and hit a road block. This time we contact the CO and he informed us we were on the right path.

Hmm...really, still no success. We battled through a number of reasons why we couldn't work out the coords and then finally, in the morning after sleeping it off, we used an alternative tool and got what we were looking for. It was a big sigh of relief. So, with the info in hand, we set of that night to finally get a smiley here.

At the coords, we soon found the track and wandered along with the whole team including the happy geodog who got a late night walk. We then lost the track and like a number of others before we had to back track. Finally reading the clue we ha the cache in hand! Yay! Thanks n0w0rries for your help on this one.

Favorite just for making the pain go away!

After grabbing a few caches in Melbourne today we decided to wait a bit longer before heading home. The sun was in a blinding position for us. We hunted for torches and came up with 1 good one and a couple not so good, so we figured we could try. We got to GZ and eventually found what we were after so we hunted down a few more. Like previous finders we kept searching for more and ended up back tracking to find the cache. Tfth

With the sun going down and a good torch, we followed the trail of the Aztecs sometimes backtracking and starting again. It was kenare who made the find of this sneaky little cache. Cigc. Tftc

After making it to the mainland under the cover of darkness, we checked in to the hotel and headed out to find a few caches before we turned in for the night.
At the puzzle solved coords we searched for ages until Goose spotted the first marker and after a short walk he spotted the second, but after this we came up empty only finding homeless people and an air of despair. So after walking on for ages we turned back and started agin this time searching likely spots as we went and in no time at all the cache was found by Goose. I had my first interaction with fruitbats, those things are huge.

Back in the 1990s when I started in the travel industry I spent more time in Melbourne than in Hobart. Anybodys unused paper ticket was fair game and good enough to travel on, regardless of the name. It used to be a game to us to see what we could get away with, especially with foreign names. E-tickets came into play along with photo ID and it became almost impossible to travel incognito. Today with self check-in it's game on again.
Stainless-steel-rat and I arrived in Melbourne under the cover of darkness and, after checking in at the Rydges not too far away, we swung by here. We had worked out the puzzle the easy way and the hard way (manually) with the same result so were confident we were in the right place.
Despite our powerful torches we struggled to see the way and spent quite some time getting started as we checked different directions. Eventually I found one and we were good to go, another sneaky one appeared but then we were stuck. We wandered for quite a distance before deciding to return retrace our steps.
But, between the hint and part of the previous finders log we ended up locating it quite easily at 11.55pm. We went on to find a few more caches but they were after midnight so this was the only find for Friday.
I wonder if I could get away with travelling as Mr Acamapichtli? Yeah ok, perhaps that's pushing it a little bit too far.

Thank you for a fun night cache, we don't have many back home. Now we're off into the 'burbs to find a dog......

My torch is feeble. I believe our household has six torches but I think the children ate five of them, but they were theirs to eat, I guess. My torch - one I had bought for all the many trips I take up and down the hall at night, tending to "I had a bad dream" and "I've been sick in my bed" and all those sorts of things. For some reason it doesn't work for a bit till the batteries have warmed up and got hot, and expanded - thus meeting whichever contacts they need to meet, and Lo: torchlight. Then it is not feeble anymore, but gloriously bright - so its usefulness is delayed. So I switch it on and hope for the best, usually. Today, I ventured to the spot, feeble torch, as ever in my caching bag.

I found a marker and then nothing... But it gave me an idea of where to look. I found another marker after examining at length a place where I thought one might be, but if there was, I never found it. I followed my nose - it's more effective than my Torch. I examined a few areas I thought might prove fruitful, until, on venturing back a bit to retrace my steps, I found what I was ultimately looking for. Thanks for the experience- I think I may add "new torch" to the shopping list.

Thanks for keeping this one going Jacko83. Smile

I found this one with OzHockeyChick before I'd actually solved the puzzle. Having merely assisted with the night-cache element--I happened to have grabbed my torch from the car without even anticipating that sort of use--I vowed not to log it until I grasped what the information on the cache page was all about. I've since learned something new, faffed around applying said knowledge for a bit and, well, it appears I'm logging a find! This was pretty nifty, I thought. It's certainly a decent way of adding spice to a nano hide. Smile Thanks Arthur and Dent and Jacko83!

Thanks for keeping this one going Jacko83.

It was a dark and stormy night. The heavens opened as I arrived close to GZ and whilst I waited for my companion to arrive, I pondered the mysteries of the Aztecs.

Visions of Montezuma swimming up Royal Parade made me smile.

n0w0rries eventually arrived 20 minutes (4 beers) late, the rains eased and we started looking for the tell tale trail.

It was not an easy thing to find though - the general direction was determinable but with the streetlights causing the raindrops on the leaves to glint suspiciously, it was not an easy task to follow.

One here, one there and then nothing. We continued our search, but had overshot the mark.

Eventually we retraced our footsteps and came to a likely place whereon the cache was spied.

Extracted, signed and replaced, we high fives each other before heading back to our respective vehicles and on to other things.

Thanks Jacko83 for the fun here tonight - another night cache down for n0w0rries and a solved puzzle to boot.

Found with GeoKids. Thanks. They have the taste for night caches now.

I've had the puzzle solved for yonks, now it became time to fill in another day on the calendar. On my way to a mates place at night, I gave this a go, lost the trail for a bit but it was fairly straight forward which direction to head. Thanks Jacko for keeping this one alive.

This one has been on my hit list since publication... but I've never been near it at the right time of day with the necessary equipment. With the starting coordinates resolved months ago, the opportunity presented itself tonight.

Picking a friend up from the airport and delivering her to the city at stupid o'clock meant I knew I'd be going past, so this time, I made sure to pack what I needed.

A short walk, and my illumination as to the presence of the Aztecs was complete.

Thanks, Jacko83. Well worth the effort and the wait.

I finally found myself on the area of GZ today and with the coordinates obtained quite a while ago all I needed to go was make the find, after a few mins of searching the well hidden container was located

Thanks for the puzzle and thi night cache! Puzzle was solved a couple of days earlier and found this morning after work. The most difficult part was the log extraction!! TFTC.

We were spending the long weekend in the big smoke instead of hiking and camping in the high country due to a last minute engagement party that we apparently had to attend. And as we always do when we are in (sometimes) sunny Melbourne, we night cache!
This one was on our to do list this trip as it was the closest to our accommodation and the Queen had solved the puzzle prior to our trip down.
We rocked up to the start co-ords after a big feed and ice cream down at the big ferris wheel and when the sun had sufficiently departed. With our torches deployed, the trail was quickly picked up and what seemed like no time at all, but was in fact a short time, we reached GZ and had the little blighter!
With logged signed and cache returned, we wandered back off into the darkness and eventually our hotel for the night.
Another great night cache off the list!
Thanks to Arthur and Dent for the cool puzzle and nice little night cache.

Cheers

Solve the puzzle when we first arrived in Melbourne a couple weeks ago, then got out one evening to follow the trail. Got stuck at the end with a missing container, but it was replaced very promptly! by Arthur and Dent, and tonight we were back in the area and made the quick find to sign in. Thanks for an quick and easy puzzle and nightcache in town!

We had solved this one prior today. Our last find this evening with The Tritonz, Glanville Girls, Motndarg and Tomstache. This is a very pretty area, this is a straightforward multi with a nice stretch at the end. The males in the group were trying all sorts of tricks to retrieve. Thanks for the puzzle.

Like the others in our group, we solved the first part of this puzzle quite a while ago but need to wait until we were in the area to pick up the final hide at GZ. All of the reflectors were easily spotted. Thanks for the hide. Arthur and Dent. Caching with McLookers, Tomstache, Motndarg and The Tritonz.

Thanks got this one. Cool one but hard for me to grab at the end.

Caching after the event today with The Tritonz, Motndarg, Glanville Girls and McLookers.

Thanks McLookers and Glanville Girls for solving this puzzle . We followed the markers to GZ with the McLookers, Tomstache, Glanville Girls and Tritonz. TFTC

We are in Melbourne with the McLookers, Glanville Girls, Tomstache and Motdarg today picking up a few puzzles and tree climbs. This one was on our "must do " list , with stage 1 worked out by the Glanville Girls we made a group assault to follow the fire tacks , eventually leading us to the secret note book.
Thanks for the hunt Arthur and Dent

Solved this a while ago it was just a matter of picking it up given it's a night cache.

Met the friendly CO to finally put my name on the hide and discuss plans for adoption.

A clever puzzle that has you looking at things in a whole new way!

I usually checked the cache once a week on my way to the soccer pitch, however, couldn't play soccer for a couple of weeks. I will be able to check in future again. Thanx to The Drovers for putting the container back.

Since Arthur and Dent are leaving Melbourne, we are looking for anybody to adopt this cache. Just write an mail through the geocaching website if you are willing to adopt it.

The Drovers and Mrs Crackers decided that early on New Years day would be a good day to tackle some city caches and this one was one we decided to look at again,
We visited here a few nights ago and were unable to locate the cache.
Today as we were in the area we decided to revisit and have another look and this time the cache was located on the ground and our name was added to the log.
Thanks Arthur and Dent for the cache.

Being New Years day, we thought the city would be quite, so we headed in with Mrs Crackers.

We started this cache on a previous night trip into Melbourne, but were unable to locate the cache.
Dropped in today to check out our GZ, and were surprised to find the cache on the ground.
Signed the log, and put back where we thought. CO should check on final hide.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Arthur and Dent, for us and others to find.

With the first part completed a considerable time ago, I passed by this evening to attempt to finish it off. Not many folks about and I was able to follow the trail and locate the little fellow. I was pleased that I didn't have to unravel it much at all to find the next empty space.
Thanks to Arthur and Dent for a fun evening adventure.

I was busy munzeeing today and realised I needed a cache for the 366 grid I'm slowly working towards. As it was nearly dark and I was in the neighbourhood I thought it best not to waste this opportunity. After making my way to GZ I assumed the cache was missing because of the state of the object at GZ. I was about to walk off when a closer look revealed the cache and I kicked myself for almost leaving it unsigned!

Many thanks,

With a night find done and dusted north-east of here, the decision was whether to try for another 'night' cache or just some other nearby ones. ssmc4 mentioned that he had solved WP1 for this one but of course, I couldn't go there as I hadn't solved the puzzle now could I? Wink s insisted and who am I to argue so off we set. WinkBig Grin

Once at WP1, the Class 5 white laser I'd purchased earlier today worked a treat and despite nearly melting GZ, we soon had the stash in hand at 22:20.

Now to solve the puzzle. WinkRed Face [8)]

TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Arthur and Dent.

Flushed with success after completing a night cache in Watsonia, EuDes and I then thought about other potential night-caches to tackle (after all, we were armed with his new "more powerful than 500 paparazzi's flashes at the Oscars red carpet" torch). I then remembered that I had previously calculated this Aztec cache starting WP and had the co-ordinates in my GPSr, so off we went.

At the start of the journey EuDes turned on his torch and we watched both possums and night-time joggers stagger away, temporarily blinded. The clues became apparent and we followed the Aztec trail to the GZ and discovered the cache container.

Well done to Arthur and Dent for a nicely themed puzzle cache which was well executed. A favourite from me - many thanks.

Find 1104 at 20:27. I was out caching with Burge tonight and we were aiming for caches around the inner suburbs. All up we found 11 this evening and this was find number 6.

The first part was decoded very easily and I had the coords sitting in my database for a little while before we got out here tonight. Once we were at WP1, we were a little lost but after re-reading the desctiption, the cache was found shortly after. Thanks for the hide, Arthur and Dent!

When LouiseAnn wanted company doing this I had no immediate other plans so off I went. We did the firetack walk without incident but where is the cache. As we had returned to the cars so we could PAF I decided to walk the line again. It was after having a more thorough poke around that I found it. I must say that with all this space there's a nano here just doesn't make sense. Well another smiley for me anyway. Tftc

I had a few issues decoding the information required, but once I had done that I was ready to go.... except that was right at the time that the cache was off line!! Also, it was summer, and you have to stay up so much later to find night caches in summer.
Anyway, it is night caching season again, so I put out a call on the Geocaching Melbourne facebook page and it was answered by Sharkiefan. We met up and took a little walk in the darkness. When we found a likely looking place for the final, as indicated by 3 dots, we hunted around, but somehow managed to the cache. A couple of quick phone calls, and no one could remember anything. Fortunately, Sharkiefan had another hunt around and located the cache, which neither of us can believe we missed the first time.

Thanks for the cache Arthur and Dent

Staying with the owner for a few nights we had to tackle this Cache. After solving the mystery we found the Cache quite easily. A powerful light is helpful. Flying Foxes were around and the CBD provided a nice skyline.
Congrats to this nicely arranged mystery, your first own cache in OZ! Very Happy

Woke up to the first part very quickly and had some coordinates. Came tonight to look for the cache. I waited in the car for a muggle to complete his exercise routinee on the equipment and move on, then set about the search. Took a while before I spotted the first marker some distance from the coordinates. In the meantime a second muggle had arrived to exercise. He asked me if I had lost something and I tried to explain geocaching to him. His eyes glazed over and he moved on! Found a second set of markers and then the cache at 9:45pm. Didn't find any other markers despite looking again on the way back to the car. No Aztecian gold either, oh well, at least I got the smiley!
thanks Arthur and Dent for a fun cache. Worth a fave point
