Found with the geo-crew during a late afternoon drive down to Taroona. I want a community garden like this back at home !! Although we did wonder if one of the locals was buried in the compost heap. Favourite point from us. Many thanks taroonatribe

10-Jul-16
After a while of searching no luck......we need another clue!

Hi taroonatribe, thanks for the cache. I like the hide!
Was in the area for soccer so went for walk a bit earlier to find some caches, with mixed results. Had aready chased 4 and walked up to this one from Taroona Beach. Too many muggles on both sides for my liking, both of the greenthumb variety, and those with two furry yellow balls playing tennis. I decided to head back to Kelvedon Park for the end of the soccer match. After that finished, and on the way home, dropped back in for a muggle free experience. A reasonably quick find and certainly more satisfying than my first 3 cache attemps earlier today. Thanks for showing me the garden, and for providing a high to finish today on.

Today we were on a campaign to make sure that we had found all of the caches in a 5 Km radius of home (to qualify for a mainland challenge cache). Just outside the range but making sure. Last time we were here for a near-by social event the cache was temporarily out of action so good to get it today.

A tricky one, but found after a few minutes. Definitely not where expected! TFTC

Woke early to meet up with the FelixIIs for the event on the mount. They were camped two van sites from us! We drove up together, dodging police and ambulance with flashing lights, fully expecting to find the mountain closed to traffic. Fortunately for us, despite the fog at the top, this was not to be. After meeting with the rest of the group at GZ, Mrs Dunmowin, Mrs FelixII and Goodlook - all interstaters, went back to the carpark, while Mr Dunmowin and Mr FelixII joined the rest for the walk across the mountain. . The boys reported snakes, stratched legs, freezing conditions, while the girls had the better end of the stick with coffee shops, foreshore walks and gentle, easy finds and a lot of laughs were encountered as they cached their way from Kingston to Sandy Bay .

Thought we should check out the local neighbourhood garden. Apples hanging from trees, veggies growing happily in gardens, even a gardener hanging around in the patch (was that you taroonatribe?) A game of tennis was on the go next to GZ, they were completely oblivious to three cacher chicks climbing through the vegetation close by. (or was that you taroonatribe?)

Eventually Mrs Felix called "found it" Signed and duly returned we scrambled back to our geomobiles, downed a sandwich or two and continued our drive up the highway. Thanks taroonatribe for the hide.

What a lovely garden.

This cache took a few minutes to find...well done to my caching buddies for locating this one.

Nice little spot where we stopped, ate and chatted - what a great day it has been!!!

TFTC taroonatribe!!

Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.

Today was about attending the morning event.

After the event Mr Felix and Mr Dunmowin joined the walking group across the cool mountain conditions discovering caches and snakes, whilst Mrs Felix and Mrs Dunmowin joined with Goodlook for a warm girlie day of caching, giggles, coffee shops, sailing, river views and sliding. [:o)]

All had a great fun day with new friends, just what we love about Geocaching. Razz

Nice hide here, glad the tennis Ace nearbly totally ignored us. Red Face

Was very puzzled when this disappeared from my phone before I could log it. Hope this doesn't mean we revealed its location while we were finding it. Found in between a very nearby engagement and a trip to the nearby beach. TFTC

That one took me ages to find - about 20 minutes in all. Initially I thought there was someone working the garden, but later realised that it was a scarecrow.
I was fully expecting to find the cache where I did - it just too a long time to get the right angle to see it.
Thanks for the cache

16-Mar-14
All the different facilities in the area were being well used so we casually strolled around trying to be inconspicuous as we looked for 'not usual' hiding places. Donald soon had it spotted. TNLN TFTC

Had to rummage around a little to get the right approach angle and then - bingo ! There was the cache. Good coordinates and no muggles certainly helps too ! Cool
Thanks for the cache, taroonatribe ! Big Grin

Found 17.02.14 at 2.00pm. Have to admit that this was our second attempt. After reading the cache description it certainly was not where we expected it would be. Had a delicious late lunch at the nearby cafe (used to be a service station). Thanks for the cache.

At last! Knight 1 gets her hands on the iPad and logs the cache. Up till now 13yo Knight 4 has been in the driving seat with all things geocaching but he's at a friend's place tonight. I was entrusted with the task. Took a few minutes to work it out but here I am.
With a little time to kill, we decided on a couple of Taroona caches. Found this one quickly, which was perfect. In good condition. TFTC.

We had Christmas at my sister's and went out for a post lunch walk to enjoy the sunshine and work off the calories.
My sister is very involved in the community garden, so found it interesting that there is a cache in close proximity (and took the opportunity to water her patch while we were there!)
Thanks taroonatribe for the cache.

After arriving at the site and looking a little Peter went to the other side and was asked by a passing muggle if he had lost something. Thus a brief explanation of what a geocache was, ensued. Soon after he had departed Sue spotted the objective. TFTC taroonatribe

Since the last visit to the Taroona area there has been a few new caches put in, so we decided to go for a walk mostly using the foreshore track, but with an excursion on the roads that was needed in order to attempt one of the caches. At one stage we came to a dead end at Illawong Cres but a local said it was probably OK to walk on the land that connected to Wandella Ave. so that saved a lot of backtracking. As it was the cache up that way impossibly under the view of a horde of muggles.

01-Dec-13
A combination of cache-blindness and 'youths' who were circling my car made this one a DNF today

25-Nov-13
There were people playing in a nearby tennis court and someone doing some work in the garden area, but luckily at GZ I was out of sight from any of the surrounding people. It didn't take too long to spot the cache. Good coordinates definitely helped!

15-Nov-13
Took a little while but find this one in the end~ TFTC

29-Oct-13
Refreshed came back refreshed and spotted it in less than a minute. All was quiet this time with no tennis players. Thanks taroonatribe

24-Oct-13
Having had a very brief look in the dark the other night... Found it easily during the daylight today!! TFTC

22-Oct-13
Given the size of the cache, it's hard to spot! Took me a few minutes, but got there. Glad no-one was playing tennis. I didn't know these neighbourhood gardens were here - looking good. Thanks - a great hide.

22-Oct-13
Searched for a while also read earlier logs but no luck. Maybe another time. I do admire the gardens set up.

19-Oct-13
Hanging around the area and heard this cache had caused some difficulty. Found quickly. TFTC

We had visited this area some time ago looking for some moveables. Today we returned and were very pleased that we arrived early and avoided tennis players. It took a few minutes to locate this cache, finding it when we looked at the right angle. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. TFTC taroonatribe.

had a need to get out and do some caching today and the three unfound caches in taroona. the drive down was the normal roller coaster but with a few stops for road works on the way. nbn i think.
took a while to find it. it was where we expected. tftc

After a few loops, I decided to trust the GPSr, and also try the "step back" advice, and there it was.
Thanks for the cache.

I searched for about 15 minutes and had all but given up, then suddenly it just appeared as if by magic. Sometimes it Pays to just hang In there.

Hi taroonatribe
Going to this area or near abouts is becoming a habit in the sense of cache finds. Two or three times recently.
Arrived here today only to find the area full of muggles; road workers, muttlies and owners as well as kid tennis players. Do I hunt or not? Already having been stopped from finding one cache today because of muggles, didn't want a second.
One lady with a dog was watching every move I made; but slipped into a hide at GZ and found the cache at 1551hrs.
A clever hide made more difficult because of the above - well done!
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Ok arrived at GZ and there is several locations it could of been, I looked in the spots I wouldn't expect to find a cache and then looked in the places that I would. Two beer boltless, muesli rapper, milky way, footy card, a dead animal, two bird nests one with three blue eggs and one bird running around who seemed not to be able to fly. Looked up, looked down, looked over, looked under, looked through and looked in. This one had me.
JABs.

02-Oct-13
Had a look on the way home. Couldn't find it. I think I found an extra bird's nest though!

02-Oct-13
A break in the rain meant searching in the light drizzle. The Bear was soaked after 5 minutes and had covered the same territory as mentioned in JABs earlier log. After 40 mins of searching, I needed to organise my lunchtime caching outing with The Goose, so took a step back. Whilst on the phone delaying our lunchtime catchup, I spied the cache. Excellent, another FTF AT 12.55pm. Getting a reading with the trees made it hard, so it all came down to a visual search and I really had made it harder than it needed to be. Well done taroonatribe for a great cache.

A second to find with Smiley_bear. I didn't get as wet as The Bear as it wasn't necessary. TFTC.
