TFTC on our way to Mungo from being at Mundi Mundi. Fantastic few days. Needs a new container
On our way to the Mundi Mundi Bash. Beautiful little town. We'll have to come back. TFTC
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Making our way to Broken Hill for Mundi Mundi Bash. Stopping a few days in Pooncarie along the way. We enjoyed the walk from the campground and ended up continuing on to the General Store.TFTC Grubby7298
Wow what a spot. Beautiful area on the river great camping supported by the community. A quick find on my way to Mildura. Pesky goats having a munch on the greenery appearing after some recent rain tftc
Found whilst on an unexpected stopover Pooncarie. Cache in extremely poor condition, container, broken and contents, quite sodden, nonetheless and enjoyable diversion.
Find#5931Nice hiding place What a epic road trip through Victoria and NSW on our way to Whyalla South Australia Thanks for the cache
In Pooncarie for the end of year school awards and decided to check out par 5, a lovely walk without hitting a ball around.
I think the grounds person needs the boot. 19th hole in the Main Street looked good. 8th hole looked a bit rough. Walked the fairway back to the car without a snake bite.
Maintained the cache with a fresh log and protection. Pic. Members need to pay their overdue fees.
Found on a sojourn all around on the way to QOGM 2023. A fun jaunt with lots of dust, mud and starry skies.
Thanks GRU88Y and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!

Wow… this was certainly a drive by… I drive this way, that way, the other back to the first trying to get closer. Looking forward to a beer at the Club Rooms……?!
Thanks GRU88Y for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside

20.06.2023 tftc it survived the floods sort of, notable to sign and didn’t have replacement log sorry
Came along way to grab this to keep streak going. Bubbler nearby wasn’t very refreshing. Tftc
Another quick find, cache in good condition despite how close the river has come up here.
Found! Floodwaters rising - still above water. We have anchored under a concrete weight in the hope it stays there and is still dry if it goes under.
Found at 5.30pm. Approach A was met with floodwaters 300m from gz. Approach B was met with floodwaters 85m from gz. Approach C, success. Cache is on a raised area 1m above current flood level. Lets hope it stays that way. A lovely walk to reach gz.

Thought I’d try a find while staying overnight.
Area looked recently damaged by floods but cache was still there and good condition.

Found during a road trip via Wentworth, Menindie Lakes, Wilcannia, Cobar, Bourke, Yowah and Cunammulla to Charleville and back over 10 days. Thanks for the cache Grubby7298!
TFTC found this with Algae our first cache in Pooncarrie. Not much here. We decided to ride our bikes to this cache and ended up walking too much muddy clay. Algae broken his derailleur on his bike, but at least we cleared out pooncarrie town and got a couple of smilies along the way.
Thought there might be a walk across the golf course but soon found a track right to the location. Soon in hand and signed
Another outback golf course
The Darling River is looking muddy along this section. Seems the aquatic wildlife is suffering.
A quick find at GZ, no golfers on the course today

On the homeward stretch after 2 and a half weeks up north stopped in on our way from Broken Hill to Lake Mungo.
An unusual golf course here.
Thanks Grubby7298

I went for a stroll around the course and admired the greens.
I don't think you would bring your favourite clubs here.
Thanks Grubby7298 for showing me this place.
Chiefton!!!

Took some creative driving to get here, but we managed to find our way to GZ and make a fast find on the cache.
Stopped in here as part of our Great Western County Hunt. It has been a truly incredible trip, as I managed to pick up the last four counties I needed to fill in my NSW county map. A super exciting thing to complete. Thanks for enabling our crazy adventures. Thanks for the cache.

Quickly spotted. I didn't see any golf flags but pretty sure there's a Fairway here somewhere. TFTC
Found on a wander from our nearby camp. Saw a lace monitor (or similar) on a nearby tree upsetting the kingfishers. Enjoying the wildlife on our trip from near Queanbeyan to Broken Hill and back. TFTC
I found this cache today after driving from Menindee . We set up camp on the river then drove out to gain as many smilies as possible. This was one of them.
Monty had me running in circles for a while but eventually settled to show me where to look.

West New South Wales trip 2020. Day 6. I was joined by MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 for a trip planned to go from Goulburn to Forbes, Nyngen, Cobar, Broken Hill, Wentworth and Balranald. Having spent two great days in Broken Hill, it was time to move on. We headed to Wentworth, but went via Menindee. It was a bit odd seeing Lake Menindee completely empty, and Lake Pammeroo over full, BOM says 116% ! The country is showing a bit of green, but it feels very dry.
This is my visit to Pooncarie. They have a very nice golf course, better than some we have seen on this trip. No one playing today.
Thanks for the cache GRU88Y

Headed out on a 10-day trip to outback NSW with fitzy_1965 and albida33.
Day 6 saw us heading south to Wentworth via Menindee Lakes. In logs we signed as MK, F65 & A33.

Day 6 - A day drive from Broken Hill down to Wentworth. What we didn't know was the extremely dry Broken Hill we left behind would have flooding rains 2 days later - Wow ! This area was also dry today - no doubt plenty of water after the rain. A quick find of the cache. Then we had lunch here. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then it was off to the next one.
Thanks Grubby7298 !!

After bogging the car in a small puddle on the side of the road in mungo and getting out, we drove towards BH. A golf course out here, it was certainly interesting. Tftc
Found this one after a little drive around town and then a short detour off onto the local golf course. No trouble with any muggle about today as the course was clear which made for a quick find. Certainly a bit different from the golf courses l have been on before but this one looks a bit more challenging than most. Thanks Grubby7298 for the hide and for showing me this area. Now off to town to grab a coffee from the port cafe before heading to Broken Hill.
So we took off to the north today, Mungo and beyond and back.
Mostly a great drive and scenery, but found a couple of caches along the way, logs with the team Mattycat stamp include Purrfect Di, Jack, and Sebastbat as well as teen muggle Alex.
Some may get our initials as well All have made us smile
We went to take a short cut out of Mungo. The road was closed.
So we took a much longer not so short cut north across the lakes and then west to Pooncarie... all to get an icecream, and a cache!
Ended up here. Probably the first golf course where driving meant we actually drove the car to Hole 5...
Some Kangaroos watched on. Some sheep and goats fled into the river.
The river was dry, the course was too. The cache was just fine!
It appears the massive water theft upstream has taken its toll on the area [:(!]

On a motorcycle ride from Bendigo and we camped on the first tee (unknowingly). Went to the pub for a Delicious meal and walking back to our camp site in the dark via Hole 5. Didn't need the Par 5, we got a hole in one. A quick find with accurate co-ords. This cache appears on You Tube after we videoed us finding it. Check out Biker Bits Pooncarie and you will see it. A favorite point for location and memories.
Thanks **GRUBBY**

Its sorry to see the river and the land around Pooncarie in such a state. It was pretty safe that we were not going to be muggled out on the golf course today. TFTC
Found on our way from Our campsite to the pub wow so dry, amazing to see how vast and different from Home it is
The golf course is like the river, dry, dead, and needing a lot of love. We walked in from a few hundred meters away. Forgot our pen, but took a photo of the logbook as evidence of our find.
It is sad to see the area so dry.
Cheers

A short drive around and we came to hole 5.... quite a bit different to the hole 5 we know! But good to see something new. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
As we made our way through the outback taking the wife to work at Wilcania
Thanks to GRU88Y for placing the cache for us to find.

We came to check out the overnight camp spot. What a great town this is. Cache all good. Thanks Grubby7298.
Found when camping on the river as part of a 7 week road trip via 3 states, love this location and had a great all day breakfast in town.
In town grabbing the GCA caches and of course stopped off for the others as well. We managed to drive to within 8 metres of the GZ where the cache was soon found.
Neat little place Pooncarie.....enjoyed our few hours there. Thanks GRU88Y....

#6257 - 14:10; Day 2 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. We are now headed from Balranald through to Mildura, with stops along the way including Wentworth and Pooncarie. We had made it to Pooncarie to resume our work along the Burke and Wills trail and decided to collect some of the local caches while we were in the area. This one turned out to be a drive by, much to our surprise. TFTC GRU88Y
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 3:15pm. I am writing this as I wait at the Clubhouse for the bar to open. We are camping on the river here for the night. We are heading for the Mega event in Alice Springs and should arrive there in about 2 weeks. TFTC
I am having a week away travelling with my son and we found this cache. tftc.
Parked on the track then walked 200mtr to GZ. The container lid is broken and needs replacing

I have been on a two week trip to southwest New South Wales and had time to seek a number of caches along the way. This cache was far from a straightforward find. I eventually found the container, lid (with a large hole in it) and log about 10m from the GZ - possibly muggled, possibly animal damage. After signing the damp log I placed the container at the GZ. Thank you GRU88Y for the cache - when you have the chance you might wish to replace the container and check that I put it in the correct place.
found on holiday starting in Adelaide up to broken hill then camerans corner, and now back going via wentworth. cache has hole in lid, cant replace as by now over 100 caches found on holiday ran out of replacements.
Well I was camping for the night near the sixth tee
So after setting up camp, I wandered off across the immaculately kempt links to find me a cache
Not many people out on course this arvo, so I didn't have to dodge any balls
Dodging the rabbit holes and spikey rough was another matter though !! [:o]
I made it safely to GZ, barely !!
Gawd the sixth fairway is a death trap !! [:o]

Parked near the river and walked across the fairway. Had to share GZ with a kangaroo. Thanks to Grubby7298 for the hunt.
My apologies. Yes, I did forget to mention that I have active contact with friends who live locally. Sorry for being mistaken.
