Thank goodness Tufty was with a curious kid. mrs j was looking for quite the wrong object when considering the "what?" only the addition of "why that shape?" and "why here?" told us the right what and quickly had us signing. NINO TFTC
I had got asked by No. 2 daughter if I would look after No. 5 grandson today as his school was having a teacher-only day. He wanted to go caching with me and of course I agreed. (Any excuse to go caching as if I needed one.)
I had to explain what the item in the hint was and then why they were placed here, and then why they were this shape, and then why they had holes in them, etc.
BTW, the cache was just lying on the ground beside the pipe.
Cheers for the cache.

Great easy to get to cache. No muggles mid week which meant no sneaky sneaky behavior required this time.
The fields were a brilliant green so I pleasant walk to GZ. Another point to Mrs P. t4tc
I had a bit of free time during a work visit to Auckland today so decided to head a little north of the bridge to find some caches. Well that took a bit longer to spot than it should have done. TFTC, Biggles.
I first looked at where I thought was an "obvious" Glyn type hiding place but with no luck. Stood back, surveyed the area and spotted something promising and quickly found and signed the log. TFTC
Back on the ole so many days in a row. Glad I organised to get this one done earlier in the day, as a special celebration in the household today, with one half celebrating 20yrs on the job. Managed to get to this one before the celebration. Rain impending and had to take shelter while I worked out where it was, hmm lots of things to make a mistake with around here. Thank goodness, I finally spotted it. SL. TFTC.
How ironic there was a white Bichon Frise on the loose as I approached GZ. Thankfully it was called back by its owner. Had to wander past GZ until muggle & pooch had moved along out of sight. Did a 180deg turn to then make a quick find. TFTC
Out clearing out some of the caches in my area. Nice quick find now on to the next
Hadn't looked at the hint, so was looking in all the wrong places. Found in the end, thanks Glyn
Out to fill in a calendar day, had me a little stumped till I remembered the other meaning of the clue then cache was in hand in seconds, TFTC
Reading the description helped narrowing the search and zeroing on the cache quickly, TFTC
After finding the nearby turtle it was off bison hunting. I thought I would be clever and drive closer. Well I did get closer as the bird flys but not as the cacher walks. Back to my original park some retracing of my steps and then a quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Should've read the description and saved myself a whole lot of looking. Thanks glyn.
A lovely evening for a stroll after a very hot day. It took a while for the GPS to settle down before it took us in the right direction. After that we made a nice quick find. TFTC.
Dismembered the nearby structure thinking I was uncovering the most insane camo job of all time. Turns out I should have just opened my eyes! Found it after reading the logs and noting the lack of comments regarding what I was playing with... Woops! TFTC
Last cache find of the afternoon for me - I'd only come over to the shore to pick up a couple of ammo cans and do maintenance on a cache anyway. Strolled over from where I had parked, near "Where it all began" and this was a nice quick find. A father was coaching his son on catching a cricket ball nearby and I heard him say "You'll never be a player if you're afraid of balls". Words to live by. TFTC!!!
Wow this one had me. GPS had me pacing up and down the fence line pointing into private property must have searched for ages then just as i was about to give saw it. Kicked myself when i found it should have been a lot quicker find as the cache wasn't sneaklily hidden or disguised funny how sometimes the easier ones can give you more trouble.
5.30pm. Alerted by the hint this proved to be an easy one to locate. Pretty quiet in the park on this late afternoon. A social footie match going on some distance away and a couple of dog walkers so could easily sidle up to this one.

Very busy day so was great to have a cache handy to do. No game on the closest diamonds so made for an easy find. TFTC
Walked over from the others to grab this. Easy find and a break under the trees from the sun. Thanks.
Walked right up to this one. I can understand the confusion though, as there is quite a few of those stakes in the general area.
Was up in Auckland for the mega and popped out to collect some caches in the area. This cache was easy to find because of the huge number of cachers in the area. Thanks for another cache and getting me out and about. I had a great time at the mega and these caches added to the experience.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
After taking part in the CITO event today, we wandered around the park picking up a few caches along the way. Knowing that the co-ordinates were out a bit, we looked at nearby items that matched the hint and soon found the cache. TFTC!

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 18, In Auckland Region, Northshore. NZ Mega Auckland Day 3. Caching with Sol de Lune getting to the extra event activities. After the event we headed out for more local caches, a few had high differences between the listed GZ and the actual location, but we managed to out think the errors and locate all of them. I learnt that a NZ Waritah is not a flower at this cache... Thanks.

Back from the Pokey Flashmob and moving on to the CITO. Event after event when a MEGA is on. Loving it
22M out for me, but the clue didn't leave me many options so it was quickly in hand. Back a short time later with bags in our hands. The direct routes to the Caches in the park were by far the cleanest areas.

Found after the CITO event, still a group of seven of us walking along. Glad I contributed to the team and found this one first! Thanks Glyn.
[green] Up in Auckland for the MEGA and over this way for the CITO. After our duty was done - my contribution was a small bag of rubbish and three large pieces of steel, we all went wandering with our GPSrs in tow.
Some of the guys said this cache was out from GZ, but for me it was almost spot on. I find the hiding place quickly (I was first one there) but missed the cache, and got lead astray by others saying "over there". Rotters!

TFTC. Last day of MEGA adventures for PWR PKT. Todays plan was to find at least 10 different types of cache. It was CITO time and we were joined by kotukuSI and MacPacMum as we filled our rubbish bags.
I think CITOs are fantastic - our time to give a little love to the environment and community while you chat and meet other cachers.
Thanks glyn(the only one) for the cache placement.

Found with heathetree and others on the Mega CITO. I was checking at gz for rubbish and remarked that it looked like a geotrail , but the coords were about 15m off - so we moved on to search but came back. Cache found and LBS. Not sure if it was my gps out or if the coords need to be checked. Nice hide though TFTC
We almost missed this one, but other geocachers found while we were there.

Found while doing CITO with a bunch of other cachers - learned something new today, I had NO idea what a Waratah was!!?? Now I know. Thanks for that.
Met up with some cahing buddies, purdiepurdie and karma reprint (team PWR PKT) this morning at the Pukeko Flash mob to do as many different caches toady. Our plan was to get things collected to complete the task before I had to take off at lunch. The plan was initiated yesterday with doing some homework for a Whereigo and EC.We teamed up with KotukuSI and did a geo walking tour of the Domain and cache and trash tour of this park. Nice cache.
Thanks for the cache.

Found during the Mega weekend. The weather turned out to be much better than expected, and we enjoyed exploring all the walkways, nooks and crannies. Many thanks to all the owners of the great caches we found.

Reformed Team PWR PKT, (PurdiePurdie, TheWanglers and KarmaReprint) plus KotukuSI and MacPacMum for the mornings 10 types of cache in a day caching before we all went our separate ways, building on our AWESOME MEGA weekend. Fifth on the CITO trail. Thanks for the hide.
Caching is so easy when you catch up with another group and they are still signing the log! TFTC.
A quick find although the coords still seem a little out. Didn't matter really, as there was a group of us searching for it after the CITO nearby. TFTC glyn!
Day 3 of the Mega and the day was spent attending events and grabbing caches in between. A fun way to spend the day...and to finish up with the BBQ down at the beach was very nice.
Thanks for all the caches and sightseeing around Auckland.......

Ha ha, the clue refers to a big red flower where we are from. That threw us off a bit initially but we learnt something today. TFTC
Out for a MEGA day of geocaching with Earthbound Chief & Co. This one took a little while but was eventually located. GZ out. TFTC.
Met some Australians here and was we explained what a waratah was and widened the search area the cache was soon located.
Following the CITO event.... As a group effort, easily found..... We too had some Australians in the group with interesting interpretations on the hint!!!.. Good hide, easily found... Nice to do a few caches in company with fellow cachers.. TFTC
Found on my way home from the gym. A nice easy find using the hint. Co-ords seems a bit out. TFTC.
Thanks for the hint as my coord were 20m away. We had a brief discussion about what a waratah is for the benefit of visitors.
The bison was a little loose; it appears it was a little off from its published coordinates. Also managed to cement the hint meaning in my head with this one.
Out doing the nearby CITO event with Nova, got some caches and got some Trash.
Found with a group of geocacher doing CITO. Coords about 25 meters out and I learnt something new.

During the CITO we cleaned up this lovely park as well found some caches afterwards which were hidden special for us by Glyn... Included some tricky ones. TFTC

Located on the way to the cito and in a great location close to where I often have lunch while in this part of auckland visiting customers,
Had a bit of a challenging time with this one at first. The first thing I wondered was "what's a waratah?" As a non-Kiwi the hint didn't mean much to me. Then I read that the coords were off by a good 30 m and that made things even harder. Luckily, kittykatch was with me and she had a gut feel where to look and she was right. TFTC.

30m out makes it a tad difficult to find and a bit embarresing in front of a large group of visitors.

Argh! 25 meters off, but fortunately there was a previous finder in the group who could point out the correct area to look in

Can't complain with our 5th FTF! Joint with Loz47, Furbies, PhantasmNZ & Lilliannz
After an initial unsuccessful hunt earlier today we headed back for another look with a little bit of extra info on board and some more sets of cacher eyes, and managed to find this little guy. This was Lillianz first FTF - we even persuaded her to become a premium member so that she could log it
After Having a look this morning for this one, we gave up and headed on. Armed with a little bit of a clue from the Master himself, we found it straight away the second time.
Coords were quite a bit off target here. Approx 30-35m to the east.
