The Clan are visiting the River City for EtherLady’s Family’s Christmas event tonight, staying the night with my folks in Gonville, and then going to Rattll’s Xmas BBQ on our way home tomorrow.
SkyCraneKid (formally EtherMaster) wanted to go for a drive in Grandad's vintage panel van, so Dad handed me the keys and off we went in the general direction of some unfound caches (mwahahaha!)
Having DnFed this approx 17 months ago, I was keen to rectify the blue sad face on my map - but it was not to be today...
I searched under+over+everywhere on the host to no avail...
Hopefully I'll see the CO tomorrow?

Second time looking for this cache and still no smiley. Despite an extensive search and lots of poking with TOTT. Pretty sure this is gone.
Down to Castle cliff for a day of caching with Kelly0 and the kids.
After a stomp up the hill with Miss 13 we were confident but alas only spiders and lady bugs

Took a long weekend in Whanganui. The weather wasn't great but it didn't stop us doing much. A nice breezy fresh air walk up to GZ. Thanks.

2nd attempt after reassurance from PEOK that the cache is indeed still there haha. After more perseverance I managed to find it. Well hidden indeed
Cache still there but it’s what I would call Nano size. Well hidden and small fingers do help. Lovely view from the seat. TFTC
Its Sunday morning, and with spare time up our sleeve came for a walk up this hill. Left our callingcard here. Cheers.
Teamed up with The Seagnoid and Zara for the weekend to Taranaki / Wanganui regions. Rattlls BBQ being the main attraction, along with LABS between New Plymouth and Hawera. Another awesome weekend.

Man what a HUGE hill! For this part of Whanganui, that is. This place knows how to do flat (so, yeah, I would not buy a house here). I was last here in 2014. DNF. Six years later the Seagnoid has grown a little older, has a few more eye stalks, and is assisted by a Mighty Dragon. And indeed I found it - in one second flat - the very first place I placed my fingies.
A big day yesterday with Taybeedragon, doing the lab caches between Hawera and New Plymouth. Taybeedragon and I had mopped up that area pretty thoroughly last Christmas so just just a few "ordinary" caches as well along this trip. Now back in Wanganui, Filling in time waiting for Rattll's barbecue event.

It's quite a view from this cache site so it was good to have somewhere to sit and admire it after the hill climb. I had no trouble finding the cache but it did take a bit of effort to remove it from its hiding place - skinnier fingers would have helped.
Cache # 4,925 - did with brucewwnz today. Very windy on the stroll to the cache. Located the container after a short while, then it took a bit of coaxing for the little guy to emerge from his hiding place. All signed and returned properly. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found on a blustery afternoon. Great views and all good at GZ. Cache was reluctant to leave its nest! TFTC.
Day 1 (With Squirrel Nutcase) of our Whanganui road trip.
Knew this was going to be a long day today. First cache found about 8am and last one found just before midnight.
Mission today Event, A cache starting with the letter U, Several Multi's, Earth Cache, Virtual and anything else we could find.
Achieved all the above.
Thanks to Cache Owners for their placement efforts and sorry about the cut and paste but this was a huge weekend for us. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a road trip weekend - We haven’t been on anything like this since Covid Episode One in March. A special Community Event in Whanganui got our attention. So we’re off to the ‘River City’ for a bit of fun...
Day One of our adventure - We intended on caching out some big trails, with the Community Event being the key focus... A short climb and a nice view of the community... Thanks RachelsRiffRaff and TFTC.

The cache had indeed gone.....you gotta wonder how these ones get muggled - especially given where it is. But...new one in place and all ready to go. Happy caching
Yay! Our first FTF. We came up here as soon as we could once we saw it’d been hidden again. Good to know we were looking in the right place last time. TFTC!
Once again I find myself in Wanganui for the weekend (up from Welly). Another perfect day for finding some caches, and this was one. All safe and dry here, TFTC.
this is on our list for our next maintenance run...have been busy with Nobby....he drunk all the beer and polished off the fudge....so he's about to get his marching orders as soon as we can locate the container we need...no wonder his flatmates chucked him out!!! will check Lundons soon. chz
I seldom get up to Wanganui in general, but the pull of Geocaching has given me impetus to pay more attention to it in recent years. With the vast majority of my plans for 2020 having been blown out of the water due to events beyond my control, I decided that a good long day caching up here was exactly what I needed, especially if I was to be able to do it in good company as was the case today.
My callout for company earlier this week was ably answered by Etherlord Clan and pgcnz, and all our logs today were signed either individually or else as Team PET as space on each logsheet allowed.
This cache brought us to another panoramic view of the neighbourhood, but sadly no cache in spite of a thorough search by 3 pairs of eyes.

No luck for us here today. I didn’t look at the log history before coming here. On a positive note though I’ve never actually been up the hill. The view was amazing so we sat for a while. Will try again next time.
We located 16 caches today on a bike ride from our motel in town out to Castlecliff, mostly on a shared pathway. However this wasn’t one of them. I expected this to be a relatively quick find but unfortunately I couldn’t see it anywhere. Unless I was looking in the wrong place, or unless it’s really well hidden, it’s possible it has gone again!
Thanks RRR for replacing the cache. Today was a dot day so happy to collect a smiley. Great place to watch the sun set.
Went and checked on this tonight after work, was a bit nippy, and indeed the cache was gone. Have replaced, and its all good to go. Chz
I should have read the list of dnfs before looking lol but I was Munzee hunting nearby.
sorry peeps, surgery didn't go quite as planned (read= went very pear-sharped)...will get out there this weekend....need an excuse for a walk - been stuck inside way too long. chz
Hi RRR hope to be back in Whanganui sometime soon and wondered if this cache could be checked to confirm it’s still there? Thanks.
Lovely sunny day to head out to the beach and collect some smileys however no joy here. This was our second visit and despite looking and feeling we failed. Still a great view from up here.
Hallelujah we found it finally! Thank you CO for all your help! Will sign when we go back as no pen! We had looked there!
A reasonably straight forward find, but retrieving the log was a bit of a nuisance. Eventually signed the log at 1500Hr on 11 Jan 2019.
Lovely view from up here. Took me a while to locate cache after a lot if feeling round the hint item. Tftc.
A bit of a surprise seeing this big hill, but luckily it wasn't too big, and got to GZ with no trouble. Took a little bit of searching to hit the right spot. TFTC.
Took a minute to think about this one - saw something different to other side VIOLA cache found
Mr RRR braved the very chilly wind and replaced the log yesterday. All good to go.
Quick climb up the hill for great views of Mt Ruapehu and Kapiti Island, plus a cache to sign. Log full but managed to find a spot to sign. TFTC
Thursday was going to be a nice fine day and so we planned a trip to Wanganui, needing just 4 caches to complete our 250 June Challenge, and to make a start on the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We aimed for a modest 14 caches, but only managed to locate 10.
Things didn't go so well before we even left Palmy - Mr G's hospital appointment delayed us over an hour, when previous times we'd been in and out quickly (it would be today, of course). Then, as we approached Wanganui the forecast fine day turned into a wet one, and a lot of our caching was done in drizzle and very wet underfoot. To add to that the first two caches were fails for us!
Our focus for today had been on Castlecliff, and this was our final cache here. It was pretty muddy and squelchy on the grass lower down, but became firmer as we walked up. And it was worth the walk up for the superb panoramic view - Lundon's surprise indeed - we certainly hadn't expected that
The cache was a little tricky to extract, but we got there in the end. The log is almost full. Thanks for bringing us here - a FP for that.

Took a lot of sitting and pondering to find this one. My hand finally felt something foreign and we were soon signing the log. TFTC
One breathtaking view and one small easy to find geocache equaled an amazing time. TFTC.
I must have been having a bad day the last time I was over here in this location and this is another I looked and looked and looked for and just could not for the life of me find. AND I was sure I knew what I was looking for. This time I had my hand on it straight away. I could see it this time and when I put it back I realised how on my previous trip it may have been just the whisker more hidden and very easily not seen. Talking about seeing things - this place has the most spectacular views and well worth the visit - or two as in my case. I will give this a favourite for the views and for the fact it outsmarted me the first time. TFTC
Meow meow! I've only just noticed the cat on the roof of the Whiskas building nice hide
really small and my mum found this one also did it on the rounds of sunday jobs
Cool hide thankfully I've done one like this before so I knew what I was looking for
I found this one very hard to find, even harder to get to the log and harder to replace the log. GPS ,Hint, Cache were all good too. Thanks
After coming back the next day I'm happy that I found it awesome cache well done
I could not find this one if anyone could give hints will be appreciated as I live close by
All quiet at the park. Went up and went straight to the gz. No problem locating the container. All in order. TFTC
Definitely the best view of the 13 caches I have found today on a day trip to wanganui from taranaki collecting as many caches as I can:) took my fat fingers a while to get it oit of its hidy hole tftv
This cache was one of the many caches we found on our 6 day campervan journey from Tauranga to Lower Hutt via Waihi, Cambridge, New Plymouth and along the west coast to Wanganui and back to the Hutt. A mighty and enjoyable journey which took us to many great and iconic parts of the north island and of course some great geocaches. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to so many new places. Sorry about the generic log but 200 plus to log. TFTC
Awesome spot! Never knew it existed. Thanks for this great cache. Hunting with teijhankaiya. Enjoyed the view - kids also enjoyed the park. Shame the skate ramp is out of action
Really enjoy searching for this cache with Beefamily yesterday... Such a gorgeous veiw...tftc
My first find without help. My favourite view in the cliff. Special thinking place where i saw in the sunrise on my first aniversary as a widow.
Well i was looking for some thing bigger
But found after a few minutes getting it out was a act
Frist time i have been to castle cilff got here a hour be fore the truck so whats the best thig to do while filling in the time cacheing

Took longer to retrieve than find. Lucky we carry a tool with us. Nice view from up here. Slightly more than a t1.5. Tftc
I have been a bit slack during the month of September (only finding one cache before today) so I needed to get out to increase my numbers. It was palnned for a car full of cachers to head over to Wanganui, but as the day neared, numbers dwindled so it ended up just being myself and Tommygun9. It was a warm spring day with plenty of muggles out and about. I ended up finding 30 odd caches with three frustrating DNF's
An unexpected but great view from up here. A quick find of the cache too!
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

Today was a day to sign off a few caches in Whanganui. Next was a big walk along the river bank towards the mouth.
The cache was a little hard to get out due to my fat fingers. There was a muggle here when I arrived and didn't take the hint to leave so explained geocaching to him.
Cheers for the cache.

A walk up this cache revealed a great view, thanks for bringing us up here. Cache 1450 for me. T F T C RachelsRiffRaff.
SpudNZ and I headed off for a September afternoon mission and Wanganui was the destination. I ended up with about 30 odd caches (on a dot day too) and we met another cacher along the way. I had only found three caches for September so this was a fortunately timed trip. Thanks to all the local hiders for making today's trip enjoyable.
