My father also used to work on the road with my uncle, cutting through a pass. Every time I drive that highway I think of them.

The three of us were spending some time on Yorke Peninsula, and today Mr Tardis went out for a caching run in the southern half. I did a section of the Gone Fishing trail, and found lots of old and new caches on the way there and back.
I'm happy to report that I found this cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache earthlight.

Day 2 of our break on the Peninsular staying at Edithburgh. With the bored and not interested better half Mr Adder only had minutes at each GZ to make a find. Some were quick while others exceeded the time limit causing angst to she who must be obeyed. Cache is safe and sound. Thank you for the placement of the Gumbowie cache earthlight,The x-trailers find number 8558 on 1 November 2021 at 12:57 pm

A quick stop here today, cache is all good
A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.

Day 2 of our holidays, saw us caching along the coast line, cliff climbing, finding old ruins and travelling down many dirt roads. As at 4pm we are back at camp having a well earned rest before dinner and possibly more caching. TFTC
Day 206 (Sunday 22nd) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Warooka today. A total of 50 for the day and 4965 for the trip. TFTC
After a mad run with some seriously crazy hours on the fishing line yesterday, and a sleep in this morning (except for me, I was up before dawn), Team KAA are back in action, heading to the geoart.
Signed as KAA - we had a pirate stamp but it ran out of ink a long time ago. KAA are the Kiwis and Aussies - Mar1sa and the Seagnoid for the Kiwis, skuzzybear, Munja and DavidWazza for the Aussies.

The third day of the Aussies and Kiwi’s caching trip to the York Peninsula and today we were attempting to tackle the Geo Art. After a quick breakfast we made our way back towards Warooka, and like the previous day we quickly got into our caching rhythm. Whilst we were still chasing numbers, we were not looking to push ourselves as much as we did yesterday. With this being the case, we still were able to achieve some good numbers and have an enjoyable day. As the sun began to sink low in the sky, we finally decided to call it a day and try and find something for tea. All logs were signed as KaA (Kiwis and Aussies).

After our big day yesterday we had a leisurely start today not getting up quite so early! Packed up, got all the caching stuff ready and checked out of the cabin then headed out to find another 40 of the Gone Fishn' series before heading down to Yorketown for a few puzzles we had solved, a few multis an Earthcache and some targeted trads along the way. [^]
Today wasn't so much about the numbers and we had a good day finding lots of caches in great spots...much more enjoyable than the power trails and Michells&hound found her 10,000th cache which had been her goal for the weekend. I hadn't any more goals for the weekend after finding my biggest one day number, so it was a relaxed afternoon.
After a relatively incident free couple of days today we had a few...maybe tiredness!! I came out reasonably well except for a big angry spider that didn't like me disturbing his home and gave me a little nip, nothing bad though. I also nearly stepped on a blue tongue lizard that was sunning himself right where I was walking.
We found all the caches we looked for but had to PAF a couple of times for one that had been moved with no updated coordinates and a micro on a gun!! We were very pleased when we found both of these. We ended the day with 66 finds which gave us a good number for the weekend and we were very pleased with ourselves.
The weather again was kind to us, quite a cold wind blowing for most of the day, but the rain held off until we were driving home. [^]
Another great piece of history here. A quick find also.
Thanks for the cache earthlight,The x-trailers.

So last day of the weekend on the YP and around 60 caches found. I hit my 10,000 somewhere along the way will need to mark the milestone by finding the SFE 10000 cache sometime soon.
It was a much more leisurely day today as we didn't plan on breaking any records (other than JJ52 getting more towards her biggest weekend and month records) and also getting off the power trail in the afternoon to enjoy some proper country caching, discovering a bit of history and getting some multis done.
It was a bit chillier today than yesterday but we were still lucky with the weather and other than a couple of showers we enjoyed blue skies and some sunshine. Perfect weather for caching.
We did see a lot more wildlife today, sheep, cows, horses and a sleepy lizard. Thankfully it was too cold for snakes to show themselves.
I was blown away by the pink lakes around Yorketown, the contrast of colours on the landscape with canola, blue skies, cloud and the rich pink of the lake was a sight to behold.
After checking out of the cabin and getting more petrol we collected another 40 trads on the Gone Fishn series and then off towards Yorketown for the 'proper' caching.
We did replace a few caches today but on the whole the caches we found were in excellent condition. Only one trackable found today which was exchanged for another.
Another enjoyable picnic at the Yorketown shelter and then headed back up the YP to Ardrossan where we found a few caches before heading back to Adelaide.
We hit some horrendous rain on the highway on the way home so it was good to have missed that whilst we ere caching.
JJ52 had a bit of a tussle with a spider that was not happy about the intrusion into their tree and gave Jude a bit of a nip. I tripped over some barbed wire but thankfully no damage done and also gave myself a ripper bruise on one of my fingers. I also nearly poked my eye out with my glasses (still sore today, reckon I bruised my eyeball!). I also left my stamp behind at a cache, and by the time I realised we were 70km away, gutted have only had it for a month or so!!! Hopefully another cacher might rescue it. Might need to order another in the meantime.
Once again my thanks to Fishy Tales for their epic series that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep, must have been a mammoth task setting it all up. Plus thanks to all the other cachers who caches we enjoyed on the peninsula today.
Thinking I may now be on course to break my own record for most caches found in a month, but need to keep going this week to achieve that.
Could not contemplate breaking up rocks for work, that indeed would be back breaking. Quick find and sign here, exchanged TBs. TFTC earthlight

Found at 11:51 by Olga with Luna helping. On our way in to Yorketown to not get a key cut because we stopped for this cache and it closed before we got there.
Today we headed south and enjoyed visiting and exploring some of the small towns and seaside communities of the Yorke Peninsula, together with ilook4geo. The sea breeze was much appreciated on yet another hot day. We found a selection of caches to represent the different areas and each one had both names noted on the log.
This was a nice easy find. Thanks go to earthlight, The x-trailers for placing a cache here.

Spent the day cruising and caching around the Yorke Peninsula with goingplaces2. We had a good day, found plenty of caches to add some smileys to our map. Logs signed and we moved on. TFTC.
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Admittedly we came for the power trails to make up some of our statistics, but we also wanted to check out some of the traditionals as well. This was obviously one of those we wanted to pick up.
Quick park and grab for this cache. Tftc earthlight & The X-Trailers!!!

Our last day in Edithburgh, but we have been waiting for the promised sunny day of light wind so we can head north along the coast. Some great scenery and caching is hopefully in store.
Sorry-the logs are starting to get a bit repetitious but we are having a great time, walking in the sun and the breeze, collecting caches as we go, enjoying the scenery and appreciating the caches. It’s nice that the hides are not too onerous, but just subtle enuf to make us work for a few of them. Others we have found pretty quickly. Life’s always more interesting if things don’t come too easy!
You’re right, the quality and level of maintenance on these gravel roads see them in great condition. Not like some we were on in northern WA.

Found as part of My Annual leave SA adventure, I had a great time touring the Yorke Peninsula and other areas of the state. This was My last day on the Gone Fisin trail, I sure was glad to get it finished and go look around a few towns, I was a bit over looking at wheat and canola. Thanks earthlight (F=12163 H=115) for the cache.
A quick maintenance check. New cache and log in place. Your now looking for a small black clip lock container.
Found on a day trip from Edithburgh to Yorketown and return via Coobowie most were easy finds however a couple had us confused for a short while

Australia Day long weekend and we have travelled to Stansbury to celebrate our 5th Anniversary of Caching. Out early today to beat the heat and get back to town for the Geo Event. Had a quick look around the monthly Market that was on in town and then headed off caching. Heading back to Stansbury for the event we stopped for a quick find TFTC
Today we explored Yorketown and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found it on 17/08/2017 on our visit to avoid the cold rain in the home state.
Catching up on unlogged caches that we have done. Apologies for the late entry found 11/6/2017.
It is hard for us to understand how hard our forefathers worked from sun up to sun down. Container has been damaged by the camoflage, but the log book is dry. Thanks for sharing your stories with us.

Up bright and early for the June Long Weekend hiding day.
The GOTHs (me, mogni and Alternika) had a great day hiding our temporary caches, attending a flash mob and finding a few caches. Somehow we nicked a tyre which was slowly going flat. A quick trip to a servo where we pumped it up enough to get back to our digs, changed to the spare and arranged to have it fixed the next morning. All this cut into our caching time and so we got ready for the nighttime dinner event and set off early to try and find some of the caches we should have already found that afternoon.
The muggle farmer working his paddock nearby paid us no attention as we stopped and made a quick find on this cache.
Thanks earthlight and the X-Trailers.
