Had to wait for a couple of walkers to pass by however was quick to locate. Something a little different which is always a pleasure to find. All good here. TFTC.
Was simpler than it thought. Part of the locking mechanism has come away.so easy to access. TFTC
Found it 26/7/24 but forgot to log online. What a great hide, thank you! Have attempted this spot a few times but always a few muggles walking by. Not sure what the key was but the hint was helpful. Thanks again
Out with some members of Team SEAC today on a lovely sunny Sunday. Our main objective was to head to the Kauri Tree-top Walk and see what that was like. Of course, there just had to be some caching done along the way. After a reasonable walk from our last cache, we ended up at GZ. As this area contained quite a few places where a cache could be hidden, we all started searching. It didn't take long for someone to utter those words we all love to hear... "found it". Singed as Team SEAC.TFTC
As is usual with Team SEAC caching expeditions, a loose plan was made to walk the new treetop walkway and grab a few caches in the area, seeing how the day takes us. Today we had NurseDr, Keylev, LiverKiwi, Laval., and a few international students who have now learnt what geocaching is all about. Logged as SEAC to save space.A clever hide here, with a nice quick find thanks to the hint
Out for another team SEAC impromptu caching adventure to clean a few up in Devonport with hemaludy liberkiwi and keylev. TFTC. Logged as team SEAC to save space. Thanks G-2.
#822This cache is not to be sniffed at! It's always a treat to find something so well made.
This one was a bit of an adventure! I first came here last night, and located the cache fairly quickly (the actual cache, not just its contraption), but was unable to get it open. After confirming with the CO that I hadn't missed anything (thanks G-2), I came back tonight equipped with a bit of force, and was able to get the log signed. TFTC!
**#19,327**We waited far too long to come and find this one, 10 years to be exact!!Spent a bit of time looking and couldn't at first figure out the Prime Minister hint either, (it was a little Ardern to find...) but then assumed it may be because we have had a few PM changes since the cache was placed, (where did I leave the Key???)As others mentioned, the key was not required, hence a shame we waited so long to find.
Ummm but of a gross place with a strange hint. Didn't really enjoy the placement. Good concept, not well executed. Take sanitiser lol
We have decided to walk down Shakespeare Road and collect the caches as we go. Plenty of seats along the way. Once we had reached the end we wanted to walk a bit further and look for a few more caches.Arrived at the Pump station and spent some time going around in circles and not coming up with anything. Sent a PAF to the owner who was quick to respond and then the cache was quickly spotted. Not sure how we missed it. No problems getting inside and signing this log as others have suggested there might be.
Last month when we had the other wheel of challenges that involved finding caches with lots of FP's I had this cache earmarked for my cache to do. But I had gotten the challenge sorted well before actually getting around tuit on this one. But I still wanted to come here all the same. So I came by after coming from a northern cache on my way back to Takapuna.
I knew from the excellent description, this was gonna be cool! I wasn't disappointed. It took me a while of too-ing and fro-ing to find something out of place, I think I spotted something in the hint that got me there... but what's with the prime minister? That was over my simple brain...lol. I know there is a simple explanation that eludes me.
The cache looked cool from the outset and I was onto the measure of it straight away, although I suspect it's showing it's age a little and not quite performing as it has in the past, nevertheless G it deserves a FP which I will happily depart with. But I have to say my friend my FP's are running out, (all your fault) I think I only have 3 more to my name...sad. I had about 200 not long ago I thought. Thanks for the hide and super glad I found it.

So glad I came here today. What a cool cache. Found quickly and then didn't have a clue how to get inside.... Tried a litttle... and then found out. Hasn't been found in quite a while, but all in perfect order here.
Signed the log, put everything back together. Great construction. FP given.

M13 had problems here so out i jumped and had to show him the locking mechanism, nice easy find, not so easy extraction by M13, favorite point given

First tried to get this one when I first started geocaching, with no luck. Found it but couldn’t open it. Then put it in the too hard basket and forgot about it. Randomly came by today after a walk on the beach. No trouble opening it today. Maybe in the intervening years it’s become a bit looser. Anyway happy to finally get this anomaly in my sea of North Shore yellow smileys. Tftc
I added a dnf to my watchlist this morning but I also cleared one I attempted this cache way back in 2016 and found the cache but couldn't open it. The area has changed since then but the cache is still the same. It ended up being a lot simpler as I managed to open the cache without any effort, maybe it hasn't been put back exactly how it should [?]. I think I know how it should have been so made it a bit harder than for me for the next cacher, good luck TFTC
Was passing through Milford today and decided to stop off at this cache which I've never seemed to grab. But blow me down, it starts raining as soon as I get to GZ. With the presence of rain, swarm of mosquitoes and a rather pongy smell, I wanted to make this a quick one!
But as I spotted the likely cache container, and had a fiddle around with it, I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Anyway, after a careful read of the cache page and some previous comments, I managed to get access to the logbook...Hooray! Cache all well and in good condition. Nice work G_2! TFTC

Very cool hide, so clever! I however am not and forgot to bring a pen have photos though. Some evidence of potential brute force, but mostly intact
Found the hiding place easily, just looked for some G2 engineering. Attracted the attention of a man running past, who eventually carried on looking confused. Struggled a bit extracting the bison so we got Daddypig's Assistant to do the last bit. In our defence we were slightly tired from our trek around Shakespear earlier today.
Happy Birthday GeohoundandI.
Happy Birthday GeohoundandI.
Last cache of the day and it took us awhile to work out how to open it but we got to the log eventually. We did get a very funny look from a man running past in the process. TFTC
All back together again although the whole area is now vey exposed as the council has been busy redoing the area.
I noticed earlier that this one was back on line again so vowed to do a mini loop and recce when passing for a few other potential upcoming finds. Parked just down the way and tried to recall our last PM, erm but just focused on where my arrow was pointing me. Soon spotted what was required and signed into the log. Nice camo/construction here, I can see why it's such a popular cache.
Another quick couple of finds today as it's the first day of June, and Winter (apparently) and because I feel like it. A modest 4 finds but keeping the counter ticking over is always good for the engine, or something like that.

#1139. Our last morning on the North Shore with muggle cousin, Gilly, who is fast becoming a geo-fan. Found GZ, but trouble in removing the cache resulted in me texting for help to the CO. He was happy to give me permission to log, and disabled the cache.
Tftc G-2, appreciate the help. Might see you tomorrow!

So glad I detoured off my intended route to grab this one. Very clever camo. Wasnt too sure what I was supposed to be doing but a bit of thought & I was soon signing the log. TFTC
I had an appointment nearby this morning, so popped by to see this one before heading home for lunch. Very nicely done - thanks!
You know its a G-2 cache when there's a contraption involved and this one was no exception. Worked out how to access the cache within a couple of minutes but weren't prepared for the ants nest inside! Favourite point for creativity. TFTC -
One of my favourites. You always manage to keep it interesting. Really appreciate the effort and puzzle aspect of this one. FP for sure
Tftc. Very ingenius cache. Well thought out& placed. Good hint. Gets a fav point.
Not knowing whether or not the clue has been updated since first publishing was a bit confusing, but we managed to find the cache quickly enough. Getting into it was tricky, but once we stepped back and thought about it, we figured it out. Nice hide! Thanks
Was expecting it to stink but it didn't really smell too bad around here! Couldn't decipher part of the hint but the other part led us to a quick find of the cache. Then came the figuring out how to get into it. Cache is home to lots of ants but otherwise all good! Tftc
Drove past this today and realised I had not logged it so doing so now. Nice hide. Great came. Had to have a couple of looks before it revealed itself. Favourite from us. Thanks G-2.
Found the cache after a bit of looking. Wondered what the tool could be! Eventually worked out how to get at the log but didn't manage to remove it despite using the obvious tool to hand. Will have to give it more thought!
Vistra and I had decided to kick off the Planetary pursue this morning and had some caches we were going to target, along with grabbing some of the local owls from the Big Hoot. Quickly found what we were looking for and had it open but how to get the bison out, that took us some time but we got there in the end. TFTC
Called in with yk83 to take a look for this one while in the area, quickly spotting the cache at GZ. Knew what needed to be done, but it took a little while to get it open and get the cache out. Nicely made, TFTC!
In the area to pick something up we bought on Trade Me but a little too early meant we had some extra time so thought we would find a couple of local caches. Saw this was a G2 with a lot of favourite points so knew we would be in for a treat here.
Parked up close by and had a bit of a look around. Soon spotted the cache but how to access the log. Hmm had an idea which didn't work, looked at it again and still struggling. Mr Keylev decided to come over and take a look. Discuss a plan and although it was a little stuck...what do you know log was soon in hand. Very nicely done!!
Thanks for the cache and it certainly deserves a favourite point from me as well.

I spotted the cache with mum (keylev) but we had trouble opening it. Dad came for a look and they made me stand back while they tried something which worked. I took the log out for signing.
Lots of fun. Thanks
Lots of fun. Thanks
Jag50, Aiden29 and I were making the most of a rain free morning. We found the cache easily enough but getting in to sign the log proved a little more difficult. We all had a go but nothing was giving so I sent an SOS to the CO for a nudge. Meantime Aiden had another attempt and managed to free the log before the CO got back to us so we were very happy to do this one all on our own. Another clever cache that is well deserving of all the FPs it's got.
Out with Merlot58 and Jag50, making the most of the break in the rain. Located the cache easily, but trying to extract the log proved more difficult. A group effort helped us to loosen it, and after another attempt I was able to free the bison. Very well constructed cache that gets a favourite.
Out with Merlot and Aiden29 collecting caches on the North Shore. We located the cache easily enough but trying to get the log out to sign was another matter. We all tried but nothing budged. Where is Mr Jag50 when you need him? We decided the cache had swelled a little with the recent rain, making it difficult to open. While waiting for a rely from the CO, Aiden tried again to open the cache and this time she managed to open it up and free the log. Another clever G2 cache that gets a FP from us.
Out for a Friday night adventure picking up some gaps in our smileys around the shore. This gets a fav. Nicely engineered. Tftc
Quick find however this one had me going on how to extract the prize however cache was in hand after having a rest on the nearby rock. Loved this one tftc
Doh, kept thinking what does "English" have to do with the cache. Yep, I know..... Found it despite myself. Thanks.
FTF in 2017 and my first find in New Zealand. Just 300m or so from where I am staying too. TFTC, very well constructed, certainly had me scratching my head.
Second time here. We were on the right track but the piece we were missing wasnt playing ball with us. Great cache we are glad to get ticked off. Fav from us. Log signed b&p. Find number 4093.
Thanks for the cache G-2.
Thanks for the cache G-2.
The cunning behind this cache is brilliant. I just had a gut feel about where to focus and with a little more investigation the cache was revealed. That is so cool must give it a FP
I am one of the millions of cachers that couldn't figure out what the tool was. I even sent a TXT to the CO and he told me what he considered the "tool". After a ToTT was gently applied, the cache came open. TFTC.
Spotted what we think is the cache but couldn't find the nearby tool, we'll have to come back with our own...
Intrigued by the sound of this cache we stopped in for a look. We found an item that could be the cache ... yes
... no .... maybe?? We still don't know as couldn't get into it. Prob better to search in daylight. Giving up for the night now, although Mrs p wants to continue!

We had had great difficulties with the previous cache in this location, but returned this evening determined to do better. Arrived at GZ and quickly spotted something interesting - but how to get into it? Tried various methods before hitting on the right solution. Such a very nicely constructed field puzzle deserves a favourite point.
Love the tricky hide didn't take long to find the key. Nice puzzle. The hint helped a lot. TFTC
#10685. This cache is probably the closest to our house site, and one I pass a number of times each day when walking the dog we are looking after. I found the cache container, but couldn't work out how to get in to it; something that Troodles managed to do. TFTC.
After spending the morning and early afternoon around Hobsonville, we had returned to base for a rest and refreshments. After finishing my logging, (StreetWalker is still days behind with his), we decided to go for a short drive and maybe find a few more caches.
This was the first stop and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing and rustling in the undergrowth, we finally located the cache (after first finding then discarding a wanna-be G--2 hide). Hmmmm, how to open? As I can't open simple jars without help, and sometimes even find keys beyond my capabilities, I was happy to let SW do the honours. He tried and failed then decided to go back to the car to see if there was anything there that could help. I decided to have a go, and after a bit of twiddling and fiddling, hallelujah! I had the log book! Had it all signed ready for SW's signature when returned . Thanks for another inventive hide.

#260 Headed out of office for a late lunch today and picked a random cache not to far away. Initially when I looked I thought I had the camoed cache on hand but upon closer inspection, no luck. M read the hint again and not 1 metre from where I was looking I found something that had to be the cache. I did a little bit of this and a little bit of that and soon had boson tube in hand. Realised I had no pen on me a quick visit to car it was quickly signed. Love the cache, gets a fav point from me.

Collecting a few caches while in the area with tmann421.
It was a quick find for us here tonight but then we had to work out how to gain entry and were then able to log. Thanks for the fun and TFTC

I soon found the cache, but it took Just-Lookin's patients to get the log out - nicely constructed.

We were up early this Saturday morning so decided to fit in some caching before picking up Miss NZT from her morning tuition class. MrNZT picked this cache as our starting point for walking some of the coastal caches in the area, but little did we know that we had stumbled onto a clever G2 field puzzle!
We found the cache quickly enough, but now to get into it to sign the log...with MrsNZT needing a kick start coffee, the gray matter just wasn't firing in the NZT camp this morning so we had to resort to texting the CO and finding an emergency coffee! Thankfully both G2 and the coffee worked a treat and we were back with MissNZT in tow to see if we could get this to work! A little wiggling was needed to get things moving, but got there in the end. Thanks Glyn. Very clever hide and a favourite from us!

Having done the hard yards to get to top of Sherrif's Hill we thought we'd walk on to this one. Searched in the smellier area until the hint clicked and quickly found a ring of promise and what MUST be the cache. We thought this even before we read the log which said some camo had been knocked off. We found what we believe MUST be the key but it appeared broken and no longer attached - we found a long, hollow thing that is maybe what it should be attached to (sorry - only now have realised maybe we should've reattached...) Noting the CO's warning of tight fit we think we will try again when it has been a bit dryer and come armed with something that can work as a replacement tool. Unless we've been complete baboons we are impressed...
Another visit was called for after a successful find by garball & casaba3 recently. Upon arrival we found an item which we had noticed on previous occasions but was stored over by the pump station, was now sitting at gz.
Took us a while to click but we finally sussed it out and the bison was extracted to much relief. Log signed and cache replaced. Very tricky hide. Glad its over with.

Thanks to a hint from CO, casaba3 and me (BALL) finally made our way back here and made the find. Turned out we were pretty much on the money on our best bet last time but were persuaded it couldn't be that by dad. casaba3 managed to work out how to get in to the log fairly quickly . Love this hide and giving the ingenuity a FP. No jewellery found today. Thanks for this clever hide!
Caching treasure found with garball, real treasure thankfully had been not replaced with new loot. Went straight to the cache this time and tried a few ideas and then bingo, we were in. Hooray. A happy face for this one now. A little damage to the camo noted on finding this one today, but continues to be a tricky little hide, with some nice tree cover to hide in, thanks for the fun G-2's Bodyguard.

Back again armed with new info. Found the spot where the key should be hidden but were unable to locate said item. Maybe all to clever for us or something has occurred between when the CO visited and now...... Will keep watch and see if other cachers have better luck.
A couple of quick geo cache hunts after dinner. Arrived at gz not knowing what to expect. Read the information which seemed kind of straight forward in a strange sort of way. Searching around the pump station brought us no closer to the hide.
Then Kiwiscot exits excitedly out of the bushes with a very large gold and red twisted ornamental ring. Then she next appears with a large brooch. Soon the geocache hunt is forgotten and we are all searching the bushes for real hidden treasure. Numerous necklaces, bracelets, brooches, rings, earing's, cuff links and a tie pin were found, costume jewellery mainly. Scottie then finds a small clear small plastic bag full of credit cards.
Looks like we had stumbled on some thief's discarded ill gotten gains. We suspect that the expensive jewels have not been left behind.
The jewellery and credit cards were dropped off to the Police the next day. Hopefully they find there way home. You never know, some of the items may have sentimental value.
We are no closer to finding the geocache after our treasure hunt. We have an idea were the cache is hidden but were unable to find the location of the key. As the last few hunts here have been DNF's we will add this one to our watch list and see if another hunter has more geocaching luck.

Arrgggh, a few things that seemed a bit odd, not sure how to progress with any of them, a little late in logging and have heard from garball that glyn confirmed one of those odd things as the cache, now ... how to get into it when we return (hopefully not too long before we do). Thank you for this frustration opposite the dairy my sister and I used to walk to when we were growing up. We will be back [^]
Long weekend so of course no issue with spending one caching! Went with my sister and dad (Casaba3 and Merlot47 respectively) do revisit the area we grew up in. Dad's not a premium member but hoping that it's ok since he came with the 2 of us who are and we hadn't realised how many of the hides around here are premium member caches. The dairy opposite used to be our local and have walked around here a LOT in our day. We wanted to do some caches in Castor Bay area as well so sort of gave up on this one when we couldn't positively identify the cache (although we had several ideas which didn't quite pan out) and deciding to come back later except we never did. Need help, although not sure when back here again we might make the effort if we know we can pull off a smiley .
Lets face it, this cache isn't really what you would call suitable for a lunchtime jaunt. In fact, as I came past, I stopped for a few moments considering having a go. Then decided nah and moved on to what I thought was going to be better prospects. Alas this was not to be so on the return journey, I thought, oh well, might as well stop and see how I get on. Anyway after a few moments, I thought I was dealing with the likely suspect, wasn't sure, and was scouting around for a tool nearby to assist. No luck there. Then tried coming into the area from a different angle to get a different perspective. And of course the clock is ticking away those precious lunchtime minutes as well. Anyway in desperation I PAF who happened to answer, oh and it was starting to rain, so I guess it was a good
place to shelter from the rain. Anyway on discussions realised I hadn't found the actual cache, but
soon was on the trail. PAF was giving encouraging sounds down the phone (Helefant, as she couldn't remember what she did here) as I was trying to figure out how to open the jolly thing. This was not easy with a french manicure on board. Please don't let my nails get ruined with this malarky. Who dreams up these types of caches... too much time on their hands... I reckon... Anyway with
the next bit of oomph I had unlocked the cache and could get on with signing the log. And get back to work amazingly not too far over the 30 mins. Thanks for the fun I think. Gets a fav since I've had such a story to tell. SL. TFTC.
