Seems to be a day of turning sad blue faces into yellow smileys. Driving past here today we noticed that all the overgrown vegetation has been removed. Executed a quick U-turn and soon were parked up at gz. Cache was quickly found sitting out in the open more than a little worse for wear after what looks like an encounter with a weed eater. Log signed but cache container damaged and lid no longer any use. Needs some TLC. TFTC

I came during business hours and felt very weird poking around with my stick .But I couldn't locate the cache and gave up...
I'm back in Auckland for the weekend, and the weather looks far too dodgy for me to try to go too far from where I am staying in Pakuranga, so thought I would have another go at some of the local ones that I had failed to find on previous visits.
This happens to be the first ever cache I ever tried (and failed) to find in Auckland. I had tried a second time a few months back but hadn't found it then either.
Today, I just thought 'what the hell' and went hell for leather in searching through all the undergrowth as if I was some kind of demented gardener. The upshot was that after about 10 minutes I came across the container.
All was fine with the contents, and the logsheet was dry and easy to sign, before the whole thing was replaced and re-hidden.
It's always great to knock off a cache that I'd failed with before, and to turn that blue frown into another yellow smiley.
Thanks for the placement.

Three sets of eyes and a good rummage around coming away with nothing. Too overgrown and dense to make any logical point of entry. May benefit for the CO to check it out.
Cache may or may not be missing. Vegetation very overgrown. Has not been found for a long period. Can CO please check.
Heard there were two caches in one spot - and found neither. Might come back when there's a few less muggles around.
As I am logging this cache, my heart was going very fast so I had to also log my heart monitor haha great timing. Thanks for the Cache- very easy find and fun!
After a tough week had been needing to get the hell out of Hamilton for a bit and grab a few numbers. So leaving home at 5am with HKCB we had a route all planned and goals in mind we headed for a few caches in south Auckland along with working our way up towards Botany.
When we left home it was dark, when we arrived home it was dark, so all in all not a bad days caching with 52 caches found along the way. There were lots of laughs and solving of the worlds problems along the way, but the one thing neither of us could grasp was how can people bear to live in such a rabbit warren? still that remains a question for the universe.
Thanks to all the cache owners for putting them out and continuing with the maintenance

Set off today in hopes of logging quite a few caches in the Mangere area. Made a few stops along the way and this was one of them
This one took a long time to find! It is very overgrown, which is good for hiding. TFTC Sam
Out for a spot of caching on a beautiful sunny day. You just have to take advantage of such days with the onset of winter looming in the not so distant future. It was decided to have ago at the UncleSamNZ series and this was the first one on our hit list.
We approached GZ and parked near by. Walking over to GZ from our parking spot and we could see obviously where GZ was, it was just a matter of of where at GZ the cache was located. We tried a few place where it looked like geotrails had been forged before us, but with no avail. After some fruitless searching, it was time to phone a friend. They confirmed that we were looking in the right area and gave us a clue of where to find the cache. It still took a wee while to find the cache, but it finally revealed itself to us. All that was left to do was to complete the formalities, collect the code and head on to the next cache.
There was a slight delay as we popped into a shop nearby owned by friends where we just had to buy a couple of bottles of Italian wine.

I was out and about today with Jag50 and Aiden29. As it's a holiday it was all quiet here and we quickly found the cache but when we got back to the car we remembered we'd forgotten to grab the number so a quick visit back remedied that
Joined up with Merlot58 and Aiden29 on a quiet public holiday so had the place to ourselves. Parked nearby and circumnavigated the area before Merlot58 located the cache. All signed in and as we got back into the car noticed that we had not recorded the information inside the cache, so back to the cache we went to retrieve the necessary info.
Made plans with Jag50 and merlot58 to find all the caches in Highbrook. Mrs Jag50 and I tried to make the find harder than it was, but merlot came to the rescue and located the cache. However, she forgot to record the number and had to go back to take note.
A quick find the other day when I was in the area looking at woodworking machinery. Did get the feeling someone was watching me, but then again with the FLURO cloak of invisibility, everyone just seems to ignore you...cheers V.
We have been driving past this one for months as it is quite close to home but every time we have thought about looking there has been too much activity from the passing traffic and nearby businesses.
Fortunately today was our lucky day. We were returning from finding some caches nearby at dusk and realised how empty the road was so quickly turned off and parked near GZ.
We spent a while looking in the wrong spots and then began to overthink it before we finally found it in the last place we looked.
Thanks Uncle Sam, great to get a smiley for this one at last.

I was out and about today with Mr 6 picking up some specific caches for my current geo licence. This was our fifth find of the day and a nice quick one as GZ was pretty quiet being a Sunday. Only one more needed to complete the collecting of numbers for the Uncle Sam series TFTC!
11.05am - Business right beside cache was open but this did not stop us. Couple of loops around GZ and soon had cache, so it's out of here before we get asked what we are doing. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Visiting Auckland for the purpose of attending an event today... It's been a while since we were last here, and it looks like we have a lot of work to do.
This was an unexpected stop, but one near enough to the roadside. We circled ground zone, scanning the vegetation first before investigating more thoroughly. Gap soon had this one in hand, without needing to reach too far to retrieve it. TFTC.

The drizzle had started to turn to proper rain so read the previous logs and went to GZ armed with a torch and long reach appliance, both of which got used to find, retrieve and replace the cache. Good hide and another clue for the series. TFTC
In the area so had to grab another one of the series. Hopefully will get all of these before too long. TFTC.
Wow quite the reach!! Busy corner stuck in peak hour traffic now. Day three of our 4 day road trip from Hawkes Bay to Auckland and back to collect as many caches as we can. Log signed as b&p.Tftc
Following a find on the nearby multi I decided to give this one a go before heading back to the hotel. Not so easy in the dark and with jet lag starting to really kick in but after a quick recce I was able to spot it with a little help from the torch on my phone. A bit of stretch to retrieve but just about managed, quickly signed the log and replaced completely forgetting to note down the code. Not to worry, I'd be surprised if I find the others in the series as I'm only ever here for two days at a time with work and always staying in the same place. Greetings from Northern Ireland. TFTC
First find of my raid on the East Auckland Caches tonight !
Thanks UncleSamNZ ! Nice easy start !

Dropped of junior cacher down the road for a birthday party event. With EmCee Kiwi decided to see how many caches we could do in the area in an hour. This was the last of the day for us we were watching the time go by big time. Cache was found and returned with 3 minutes to get to junior for pick up. TFTC
Running against time we just managed to squeeze this one in before having to pick junior cacher up from Jump just down the road.
Got it this time. Was far too distracted by another brick in the wall when I should've concentrated on the bird in hand. Popped a trinket in to celebrate when I found - another cache further in! Popped a trinket in that one too and left happier than our first attempt.
Comfortable we found the spot but couldn't reach anything. Hope it hasn't fallen further down.
Nice easy find on the way to work.
Have been meaning to get this for a while.

I kind of feel like I want to log this twice as we found both of the containers! Mr beconaze made the find of the black one then as he went to replace it he called out to Mrs beconaze who was making her way back to the car. She came back to find him with the other original cache that he had found as he was putting the replacement one back. Mystery solved, all is good in the world, maybe it is down to Mr beconazes long arms?
Hubby found it. I was in the right corner but still looking in the wrong place. Tftc
At 435am day 12 of 50 day streak continues quick and easy park and grab thanks for the code must do rest of series now. Tftc
Would never had attempted this during the working week. I could think of no excuse for being there. TFTC
Always apprehensive when 'reaching in - one arms length!'

On the way home from acting as backup to East Auckland against Western raiders I stopped off here. After looking in one place and not seeing anything, I spotted it in another, quite exposed and not matching the hint. While signing I checked with the CO where it should be hidden so I could replace it back correctly. I WASN'T AFTER A HINT OKAAAAAY?!? (Not this time anyway!) Hid back according to the hint and headed off home. No idea what time it was when I signed it and didn't have a watch on sorry. Thanks!
After the Breakfast Event it was time for a zoom around a bit of East Auckland I haven't really cached in before - so lots to choose from. Thanks all, for placing the caches!
Doing some further Open street mapping in the area, had time for a few caches. Came back for this and after reading the hint cache was soon found!
Thx for the hide!

Approached GZ with a sinking feeling... How on earth was I going to reach THERE??? As I sat and pondered this for a minute, inspiration struck.... And within seconds, the cache was in hand. Whew... had thought that I'd have to log this as a DNF, and come back later when I was a bit less geocache- challenged!!! TFTC Uncle Sam
We had our first batch of flowers for the season to deliver to Mt Wellington this evening so took the opportunity to drive on and find an Uncle Sam cache. June is nearly over, and we needed a Trad starting with U for a certain Christchurch Spelling Challenge. Parked up near GZ, and in no time at all one of us had spied the cache. Thanks!
Nice to find this one fairly quickly today - tried a while ago and couldn't spot it then. SL TFTC
Nice quick find although the journey here was a bit painful as they seemed to be doing some kind of emergency roadworks nearby. Another calendar day ticked off and another code collected for this series. TFTC
Got to the location, walked to the likely spot and the skies opened and we did a quick sprint to the car (thank goodness we could park nearby!) Tried again once the rain wasn't so intense, spotted it first and got Mr F to reach and grab it. Cache is in good condition. Thanks.
Found while out for a drive with Mrs McMike2012 ... parked nearby & after picking our moments when there was no traffic, had the cache in hand & then quickly replaced ... even remembered to write down the code numbers ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #869 for us.
After a failed attempt at a nearby multi this was the closest cache so I could knock of my cache for the day. No troubles finding the cache but once again, I forgot to get the numbers out for the bonus. That's two of the 6 found and no numbers retrieved
Oh well, at least I know where it is when I get around to the bonus cache. Thanks for the placement.

First cache found with chanellewaru and waru8. What an awesome find and I found it.
I spent lots of time looking and reaching in, only to realize that I was in the wrong place. Left: Smiley Cacher Travel tag. TNSL. TFTC.
Nice straight forward find with Pagenz, looked for the 3 digit code but couldn't spot it. TFTC
Sat on the low wall with Team welsh and watched the world go by... signing the log of course. t4tc

Had this one still open and noticed that it was replaced. Needed some help from our son as Im still a bit difficult in walking around with my feet...but will get there
Checked on cache yesterday, can't seem to find it.
Will replace it soon.
If this is the last one you need for my series, please message me and I will give you the code

Had a blanc spot in the calender, so just before getting the last shopping bits this was a nice cache close by. Unfortunately we couldn't find it. Pretty sure that we were in the right spot. I was a bit too little for the full reach & look, but hubby certainly should be able to make the reach...but a nope for us
I had a bit of time to spare before going to a meeting not to far from here so managed to find a couple of caches on the way. Although there was a lot of traffic about, it was early enough so that most businesses weren't too active. Took a little while to spot the exact hiding spot and then it was all good. TFTC, Biggles.
Bit of a struggle as many muggles. My hi viz vest made me look like I was doing something offical so no one seemed to question me as this was a weekday afternoon with all businesses open. Must remember this trick TFTC
That’s one more find for me! Thanks so much for hiding this geocache.
Originally logged and found whilst out with mum (keylev) but now have own account so logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
Thanks for the cache.

Parked up nearby and followed the GPSr, until it wanted to send me into traffic. Common sense prevailed and the cache was soon detected after a few minutes of searching. Recorded the requisite information and return the cache from whence it came. Cheers for the cache placement!
Nice and open. Great container and the trackable is awesome. Where will he go next.
Needed to drop off a TB. So thought I would check on my cache. It had moved a bit, was very easy to find. Have put it back where it belongs.
Went for a bike ride today to do some local caches.
First one and an easy find.
