Nice quick and easy find here as the cache is sitting more or less out in the open next to a pest trap - stoats maybe? Opened up the can to find what I was expecting and spent a bit of time finding the log but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache.

No real plans made for today but Auckland was the place to go.
We still have in excess of 2,000 caches in area to find and log so this is going to take some time to complete.
Spur of the moment and teamed up with ABCDF4,Eyespyben & Squirrel Nutcase.
Thought we would hit one area and try to clean it up. Apart from one cache that is disabled, think we got the rest plus a few outer lying caches on way home.
All caches signed as Team HRP (Huntly,Rotorua,Papamoa) This being our home towns.
Thanks to cache owners for their placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... All logs were signed Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa).

Our original plan was to complete the Hakarimata Northern Walkway this weekend. However, the weather deteriorated and we chickened out... An alternative was suggested by our Huntly friends - Let's go up to Highbrook (Auckland). It seems that this location is getting a lot of attention at the moment, with a lot of new placements in the area.

It was mid afternoon when we stopped for lunch. The break recharged our batteries and we decided to look at a new suburb to cache attack... Burswood looked good, and it was just over the road from Highbrook... This was a reasonably quick find, and the logbook was found after a few attempts. TFTC.

I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.

Hi I am from Switzerland too and had very big eyes and my mouth open wide when Nöggi2 recovered your cache ..which we thought at first it was a joke or ..collection and not the cache !!! Very surprised to find something unusal like that..We opened everyone to find maybe a logbook !!

01-Nov-18
I was in the area for the new butterfly cache nearby, so stopped here on the way past. Nice new walkway, will have to come back and explore one day. Anyway, this one was a nice find, with an interesting container. Log sheet in tatters, so signed and added a slip of ‘over-priced petrol receipt’. All good here. TFTC

28-Oct-18
Right... that's what the cache name is about! Haha, quickly figured out which was it though. Log probably needs replacing, abit damp and worn. Tftc Smile

28-Oct-18
It didn't take too long to find this cache, though the surprise when we opened it was a bit startling. Hayleyfcy had an idea as to what to do next, and of course she was right. Thanks!

Lunch time outing to pick up our daily cache. Plan A (The Dragons Den) was thwarted by a young couple relaxing in the afternoon sun at gz. Thankfully they were just playing on their phones. Time to execute Plan B. Jumped back into the car and headed over to Burswood Drive. Took me a few minutes to locate an access point. Looks like they are nearing the end of a major pathway upgrade in this area. Once a gz dropped down into the scrub. Took me a few minutes to locate the hide then a few more to locate the log. It appears I am now having an extended lunch hour. Hopefully my work colleagues do not mind. At least I will go back to work with sweet smelling breath. Log disintegrating and needs replacing. Sorry limited supplies with me today. Just the GPS & a pen. TFTC - 1361 consecutive days with finds from 22.12.2014 to 12.09.2018

09-Sep-18
While I was on the right walkway founding this cache was pleasure. TFTC

Great weather for a little Geocaching Tour! I could spot a couple of Caches in the area around Burswood.
Of course it was the last one. Nice idea!
Thanks for hiding!

Yet another trip to Auckland for me, this time for a nice long break over Queens Birthday weekend. Having had a great day caching on Friday, but a much quieter one yesterday, I was really keen to get out and about today.

I did wonder if the weather gods had it in for me today though, as the heavens absolutely opened up late morning, to the point where you almost needed a submarine to go down Ti Rakau Drive! But suddenly it all cleared up, so I left it half an hour to drain the worst of it away and then I hit the trail.

I had seen a couple of caches I wanted to grab last time I was here, but couldn't gain easy access at the time, and thought I'd take another look today. On closer inspection, I realised that the reason I couldn't find easy access for the 2 caches in question was because the council had closed off the access at either end to build a new concrete pathway. But I soon found a way onto the path and enjoyed the walk to GZ much more than I thought I would as I wasn't walking through a bog!

The cache itself was a relative easy find, and I was amused to see what was waiting inside the larger container. After that lot, the CO would have almost permanent Minty Breath! I found the pertinent tin, in which the logsheet was found nice an dry. A quick sign of the log, a photo of the special code for the Mystery cache, then everything was replaced as found and I was on my way to the other one.

Thanks for placing this cache.

11-Mar-18
After failure at the last on we wondered how bad this one was going to be. Fortunately a nice quick find and luckily log was i third tin. Log a bit damp.

TFTC!! Easy find! Lovely spot!!

Out today with Team Welsh today on an adventure that saw us up hills and down dales, and dodging a few barking dogs along the way! We even saw a nice campervan but that's another story. This one was minty indeed. TFTC

30-Jun-17
Had a great day out today with a new caching friend, first of many days out I hope. Managed to locate a way into this one and once our shoes were completely sodden we got close to the cache. Log book located and the bonus number noted. Decision was made to carry onto Two Trees which I had already found and after a DNF there we didn't want to walk back past all the barking dogs. Hmmm, oh well, at least no-one was home to wonder why we were using their property as a short cut. I made DavoRaue come up with a likely story if we got stopped and they were hilarious and fortunately not required. TFTC and the adventure.

25-Apr-17
Team JAM (aka JAG50, Aiden29 and Merlot58) were on a mission to find this cache, after 2 previous DNF. We had to pass a noisy barking dog on our approach to GZ. Fortunately we found another way back to the car and did not have to pass the dog again. No problems with this minty cache!

25-Apr-17
Making the most of a beautiful sunny day I joined up with Jag50 and Aiden29 for an afternoon of caching. As we walked to the cache only a very flimsy fence was between us and an aggressive barking dog so we were thankful to find another way back to the car. And thankfully no problems with finding the cache after 2 previous dnfs.

25-Apr-17
Continued our walk around from the previous cache with Jag50 and merlot58. We passed a house with a low wire fence, and wandered what it was keeping in as it looked completely ineffective? Two seconds later out came barking a medium sized dog, that thankfully was kept back by the pathetic looking fence (we decided not to return the way we came). We kept walking on the thin strip of mowed lawn until we were close enough to GZ. We had no issue locating the cache and signing the log

I had been wanting to finish off this series for a while now, as I had inadvertently found two of the caches without realising that they were part of a series. As I was in Auckland today for work the decision to focus on the series and a couple of other puzzles was on the cards once the work had been done. Managed to get 5 of the 6 numbers needed for today, with one DNF and a revisit to a previously found cache.

Took a bit of backtracking and a deadend or two before I spotted the way in to the cache, again very soft underfoot in some places with all the rain. I was a little worried I could be in for a long hunt when I got to GZ and read the hint and it didn't quite sound right from where I was looking and what the GPS was saying. But luck was on my side and I quickly spotted the hide. A few minutes late the log was found, thanks for the fun cache.

07-Sep-16
Very squelchy underfoot today but got there without getting wet feet, should have worn gummies. Uncle Sam sure loves his mints indeed. A fave for the cheek of it. TFTC

17-Aug-16
Finally made it to GZ, opened cache and it was a Ha Ha ! moment, reminded me of one I have done in Papakura, but this minty madness was easier, TFTC,

30-Jul-16
Ha ha ! Got the log very quickly thank goodness !
Thanks for your series Sam ...must look for the others so I can
get the bonus one

25-Jun-16
Nice quick find. Nice little walk along the water. TFTC.

14-Jun-16
After dropping off some flowers in Mt Wellington we headed over to Pakuranga to do a bit of caching. Uncle Sam's minty breath had caught our attention so it was one that we wanted to pick up. Made the walk to GZ where we found the minty breath after checking out a couple of possible "breathers." Thanks Uncle Sam.

12-Jun-16
After spending a few minutes looking in slightly the wrong position where the GPS took me I widen the search and caches was found. You sure like your mints. TFTC.

28-May-16
Tftc. I was eclipsed by the clever hide.

01-May-16
Wow Uncle Sam!! You do have minty breath!! Didn't know this area existed. Thanks for bringing us along here.

Out on an awesome autumn day for a spot of geocaching around Burswood, trying to clean out that area. This was our first stop of this little tour. The first challenge was finding access to the cache. We tried to go down side roads that lead us very near to the cache, but with no luck. After consulting the map we headed off to the nearest place where access to the are the cache was hidden in was. Jumping out of the car, we walked along and finally came to the area adjacent to GZ.

In went master chrisandmum and myself. As Mrs chrisandmum had sprained her ankle a few weeks earlier and was still a bit tender, she decided to guide us from flat ground. A bit of rummaging around and master chrisandmum comes across this container, it's the cache. We retrieve the log and sign it, grab the code to solve the rest of the series, and replace the cache back in it's hiding spot.

TFTC.

Out for an early search before work. Nice hints helped to locate the cache quickly. Picked up my first trackable which was fun. TFTC

22-Mar-16
Quick fun find, not a muggle in sight, nice to see a different part of Burswood, thanks Uncle Sam

04-Mar-16
This was a fun cache & fortunately big enough to take a TB as well. Mr and Mrs beconaze both had differing views on where the TB should go. In the end Mr beconaze won as he was the one placing it

05-Jan-16
Found with my Mum, NewlynFam. Have now created my own account so am logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
We liked the cache.... but the mozzies liked me.....

05-Jan-16
Currently attempting a 50-day caching streak with some geo-buddies (including the CO!) and so needed a cache find for today. It needed to be a close one, too, as Junior a NewlynFam and I were due at a friends house for dinner soon, and didn't have time to go too far afield. This cache was one of those that I had been saving near to home for a time when I needed a close cache, so I decided to head over here today.

Pulled up near GZ and got out of car, crossed the road...... and who should we run into, but a guy from church coming from the direction of GZ. Turned out that he was out for his evening walk, but it was rather amusing because we had also run into him a few weeks prior while hunting for another cache... and I'm certain he is not a geocacher!

Anyway, after exchanging pleasentries, we headed in towards GZ, where the cache was located quickly. Sat down to do a bit of maintenance at the CO'S request (I had told him that I might come here today). Nice, fresh log now in place and ready to go! Also did a little clean up of the cache in a couple of other ways too, in order to make it a more pleasent experience for future cachers.

By this time, Junior NewlynFam and I were becoming mozzie fodder, so it was time to get out of there and head off to our dinner!

TFTC UncleSam!!!

*This was day #45 of 50.

23-Dec-15
Found it! That was a fun find. The special code is not readable. Are you able to get back to me somehow

18-Nov-15
Out on a very windy day in Auckland. Nice hide. However I couldn't get the code, the paper has disintegrated into a fragile pink torn tissue.
I can send photo to you, maybe you could send me the code , so I complete the series.

After the Breakfast Event it was time for a zoom around a bit of East Auckland I haven't really cached in before - so lots to choose from. Thanks all, for placing the caches!

Log was a tad wet!

Thank you, Uncle Sam - once again we thought we'd found it, but not quite there yet! TFTC

Took a bit of searching in the dark and the cold but got there after a few minutes. Another day crossed off on our calendar matrix. Code is not completely legible but think we've worked it out. TFTC Smile

After my work meetings were done for the day I had time to go and find a few caches. Hint was helpful in focusing my search. Cache wasn't quite what I was expecting but all was quickly revealed. TFTC, Biggles.

Ho ho, some 'fresh' words were thought when Mr P tipped the container upside down and covered Mrs P with objects and rain water. We sorted out what needed to be done, signed the log, dried the inside of the container and sealed it well. t4tc

Attended a CITO last weekend and as always I looked as local ? caches and found a challenge one that I would qualify for with just one more UncleSam cache so set about finding one.

Work was slow this morning so decided to take the drive here and get this one. After a short search (mainly thanks to the hint) the clever cache was found. Got to the car before realising I hadn't taken a note of the code for the final of the series (this is becoming a habit now I don't think I have remembered to get one yet!!) - I shall have to return and grab it. Brushed the twigs out of my hair and returned to work with only a small amount of mud on my shoes - hope no one notices - although I have a few meetings so will hide them under the desk Smile.

Thanks for the cache and a favourite for the little twist that may have heard me mumble a swear word Smile

22-Jul-14
My GPSr had me in the grassy area, so I visually projected a point in and found the cache right there. I can't believe you hid such a tiny container out in the bush! Wink XNSL. TFTC.

28-Jun-14
Grass very soggy after the rain we had the last couple of days.
Had to walk around a bit before the GPSr settle and the cache was spotted.

Came out East a bit early for the Event to see the eclipse to miss the traffic and decided to pick up a couple of caches this being the second. My Gps had me pointing away from the GZ so relied on the hint.

Cheers for the cache.

My first thought was "what the heck is this".

10-Nov-13
Today we decided to tackle this new series, after seeing them published a few days ago.

A quick, straightforward find at GZ, and luckily, no muggles about! I can imagine that your breath is indeed minty fresh though, Uncle Sam....

TFTC Smile

09-Nov-13
Next UncleSamNZ cache on my todo list. Found the nearest access point and went for a stroll. The location was easy to find and the cache quickly spotted but then i realised I didn't have my pen, so I had to sign it with a stick - hope the next person doesn't write over me. Didn't notice Boris in the log, he must have come by after me. TFTC!!! Big Grin

09-Nov-13
Mum directed Dad to this cache - Mum was not keen to have 2YO and 9YO (with broken arm) searching for it, so the team split.
Dad found it really quickly, and loved the extra challenge after finding it. This time we got the required numbers for the challenge!
Didn't see the TB in the inventory Sad

Last FTF for the night, GPS could struggle a bit under the tree cover but the hint was perfect. Thanks for the Minty Cache, excellent cache.
