Counting down the distance as we drove along, getting closer, getting closer, stop! Maybe i'll have to walk back. Open the car door and it's pretty much right there. Perfect! (except for for the flies!!!!) The insides were a bit moist, or the log was getting full - to be honest i can't really remember which due to my sticky fiends and my desperate need to escape them meaning some lacking notes. In any case we (well, my partner in caching gram4380) was able to put another log in for future finders. The poppy field close by looks like it is still in good form, but no time to stop in today. Thanks again RFC.

A slower day today preparing for the trails tomorrow, we did some excellent caches today, 30 caches in 3 hours ,all fine finds, many thanx to all cache placers for the efforts put in, top stuff

Found at 3:37:00 PM, staying in Stanthorpe for a couple of days and grabbing a few caches before continuing on our way North to escape Wagga's winter. We started the Granite Belt Bike Trail this morning and soon realised that if we were going to have any chance of completing it in one day we would need a bit more horsepower so we swapped the bikes for the Geomobile. We found the container but the log sheet had disappeared. Added a sheet of paper.

When I first spied this series, I thought id walk or cycle it, turns out, its more of a driveable Trail...

Visiting QLD from Central Coast NSW, and attending the Stanthorpe MEGA EVENT for about a week. Camping at the showground, caching days done mainly with SpikeyMikey, meeting up with members of CCG, HAVOC, and others from all over Australia.
Many thanks to all responsible for a smooth operating event, my first Mega, and first visit to Stanthorpe. Plenty of reasons for a near future visit
Whilest it did rain and drizzle almost every day, I much preferred this over hot days, which is what I encounted on the Gold Coast return journey, as well as a repeated bout of coughing with the flu on the long drive home.

Sadly Oz Mega Mega is over till next year. We are super bummed, but we love this area so much that we are staying for a couple more days before we start making our way home. Thanks to all the cache owners, volunteers and friendly residents we have met. We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Bit of a sad day today, being the last day of the Queensland 2015 Mega Event. Many cachers are already packing up and heading home. Not us though - we have another day to fill in, hoping to find as many of the unfound caches around the Stanthorpe area as we can. Couldn't leave this one behind. We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Enjoying a beaut day in Stanthorpe & surrounds with our good mates DazRascal & Mvyrmnd.
Our goal today was to find as many types as we could & help us reach 4000 finds.
We enjoyed our drive along the back roads to find these caches, seeing some great countryside, beaut hides, lots of laughs and no DNFs.

Mmm, yes, M & Ms are good! All types! Specially peanut ones!

Out and about for a days caching with Haveanez and Mvyrmnd picking up a couple series of caches during the Mega weekend.

The weather wasn't the best but we didn't let that deter us from getting out and enjoying the Stanthorpe and surrounding areas caches.

This little series of caches came recommended by many around the campsite at the Mega weekend.
With Haveanez needing a few more finds to log the Mega as a milestone we came down this way to find a few more of the smaller series of caches.
This would have to be the widest "bike trail" I would have ever seen

After a rather eventful (read expensive, long and tiresome) trip down to the Mega, and spending yesterday and the morning trying to diagnose issues with the car, we decided we had better go find some caches.

Easy find, at 1500hrs. With all the cachers running around town, we decided to head out in a random direction to see what we could find. This is where our adventures took us.

Doing the wine trail with teamdfl, Bulldozer72, T-tech and IolantheK to do the bike trail we made it half way in the rain and after hot chips and coffee at Glen Alpin turned back for home. Still a great day out with friends

Found on the fourth day that Pheltern, Gonefishen07, Zobo04 and Maccamob and I had cached togethe rduring the MEGA event. Another great day's caching with no DNF.

On a geocaching trip with tmann421 with the focus being the MEGA at Stanthorpe. A fantastic trip away seeing a part of the country I had not seen before and collecting caches along the way. Stamped the logs with t&J or our names.

Touring along the bike trail we were cleaning up the last few in the area before starting the ride back to the mega site. This was the next one to be found and we were soon on our way. TFTC

Found as part of a short caching adventure before the official start of the OZ MEGA with Slieschke, Yorkshirekiwi83 & Vistra 0n Thursday 17th April. All logs were signed as "3ST"

We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the drive and the caches that we were presented with (learning along the way some local acronyms SPOR which occasionally we turned in to LPOR )
Thanks for the fun of the run and the sights that we saw including a large Lizard basking in the road (swerved to avoid) alongthe power trail.

Day 2 of our return to Stanthorpe saga. Began the day with the Bike Trail and returned to it later in the day. Enjoyed the link to various goodies in the caches but our GPS hated the rocks.

We spent the 1st day of the Mega caching on a tour around the district. TFTC

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

Day six was fairly gloomy and wet, but we started by heading up to the Bald Rock area, even though it turned out to be too wet to attempt the climb. Then it was back to the main road and trail caching for the rest of the way to Stanthorpe. Thanks.

Day 73 of my trip to Brisbane.

Today, we're heading home after a week in Stanthorpe. I'm packed, so are the GeoSchnauzers, so is the car. We're off. Before we leave the area, there's a string of Bike Trail caches that I wanted to do but didn't get to. So I'll do them now!!! Then, I'll use caches to break up the trip.

No 1 of 12 today. Thanks, Rainforest Cookie. This was a nice easy cache, essentially a park and grab.

Weekend in Stanthorpe with Stealth Seeker. We were going to ride the bike trail but with winds forecast at up to 35klm/hr we changed our strategy. Very glad we did. Even in the car this was a big day.
