Looked under every seat but could end find it.

09-Aug-17
Only 2 DNF's, but it would be interesting if the CO could just check on it to see how we could have missed this cache.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Sad Just couldn't find it. Very dissappointing as this is such a lovely location. We were trying to be inconspicuous as they were setting up for a function at this venue. Thence came the discussion about geocaching that sparked alot of fasination and some further searching. Alas no luck but beautiful views.

28-May-17
DNF at 11:11 AM.
A lovely location where we saw a crew setting up for a function for that night. We were approached by one of them to see if we were involved in the party, but we then told him about geocaching and he was fascinated. However after about 15 minutes of searching - we gave up after looking under every bench seat.

12-May-17
All quiet here this morning, so perfect for a hunt... [^]

After following the GPS, the coords were spot on and with one glance, had the container in hand... Name in the log, it was tucked back and I headed off.

I have to admit to having a bit of a chuckle at the DNF log from the first non finder... All a bit serious for me... Big Grin

Cheers Cat and Bear.

Wow! biggest cache we've found in this type of hide. Just happy there were no cruisey cruise ships in or it could have got awkward.....not to mention parking. TFTC Cat and Bear.

We had two little ones with us and discovered that finding this one was going to take more time than we (they!) had. Will have to return one day, which unfortunately will be difficult since I'm from the USA. Oh well.

"Up North" for a weekend away, and I was able to nip out in the early morning for a quick run around the area. Glad it was early as I had to go behind the fence, but the find was quick and the place was deserted. Loving the river.
Thanks for placing this cache, Cat and Bear. Found in good condition.
Cool *{Overall find #5050}* Cool

Now and again a come here to have my takeaway lunch. Nice views of Townsville and Maggie Island and you often have the place to yourself. I could today check out the RORO ship Victorious Ace, that must be one of the ugliest looking ship around.. Looks just like floating Parking house and that is exactly what it is a car carrier. Thanks for the cache that is in great condition.

15-Sep-16
Thanks Cat and Bear for bringing me here. It was a great view of Townsville from here. Found the cache and logged my visit.

Thought we were on to something fairly quickly here but when we pulled it out it was 2 remote controls for some lighting set up.
Must admit that this one took forever and we nearly gave up at least a dozen times. We couldn't seem to get a lock on both coordinates. In the end we just started searching everything that was hinted at in the logs and eventually we found it. A much bigger container than we were expecting too.
Thanks, a lovely area to visit.

Catching up with some very late logs

We are heading to Townsville in a few weeks on our three month all around Australia adventure and were looking at what caches we would be able to find and realised that the caches Mrs Crackers found back in May last year when she was here for a work conference hadn't been logged so that it now being rectified.

The conference opening night function was held here on the wharf and whilst sipping my champagne and enjoying the canapes I was talking to some other delegates and explaining that Geocaching was a pastime that we enjoy immensely and checked the phone and sure enough the cache was 32 metres away. A group of five or so joined me in the search and the cache was soon in hand and our name was added to the log.

Thanks Cat and Bear for a cache in a great spot.

Thought I would try a bit of night caching. Unfortunately a muggle security guard came over from the port as he had seen me looking around on the port security cameras and questioned what I was doing. After a bit of explaining he said I was welcome to stay - however I decide to leave it for another night.

The third part of our 6-week-journey in Australia took us from Cairns to Brisbane and also led us to this hiding place. Till now, we had such a nice holiday visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Alice Springs and so many interesting places – beautiful. Unfortunately, we had no success.

#431 a nice find after lunch on Palmer.

So I'm flying to Melbourne this evening and won't be back for a while, so we went out as a family to celebrate my and my dads birthdays. We ate at Mar Ionio(nice) and then I asked if we could find this cache. Eventually we got to the right place. We parked and I was soon at grand made an easy find. Signed the log before replacing and enjoying the views. Took some photos and got some Munzees, and off I went.
Thanks for the cache Cat and Bear!

Big Grin First cache found. Signed log and returned.

18-Oct-14
For those that believe it's all about the journey rather than the destination, we explored more areas of Townsville Port than most locals in attempting to locate the Cruise Terminal. Well, after plenty of wrong roads as the Tom Tom had no idea, we found the new terminal building. First smilie for this cache. With no one around we parked and walked to the GZ nd located the cache. A favourite point from us because of the journey.
