Found on a trip out to Parua bay to pick up some items for the boat. Found nice and easily. Paper is starting to disintegrate, but managed to squeeze my name in without unrolling much. Thanks for the hide
Always these misleading geo trails
Found it with the help of the photo.

I took the hint of climbing the bank quite literally and climbed quite high!!! Not a smart move in jandals . Read previous posts and started again. Found!! No excessive climbing needed. Log is very very wet. TFTC
Wanted to test the new cache mobile today, so headed out past Onerahi to get the one needed to keep the 2017 streak going. Had a bit of a look around first to see what could be the easiest route up into the bush. Having made my decision, I crossed the drain and headed up and just about bumped my nose on the cache..!! You have to have a win sometimes, I suppose.. Log was a bit damp but still signable. TFTC
No luck today.
I now know what kawakawa looks like though.!
Next time.......

So with the nice weather this afternoon and all the jobs done at home I decided to jump in the car and head to the beach- and figured I would grab some caches while I was here- and on my way home.

Took a bit of hunting for this. Made the mistake of following a "geotrail"so got it very wrong. Then spotted cut kawakawa and thought branch had been pruned. Looked further and spotted the bauble. Thanks for the cache.
I was a little hesitant here given quite a few DNF's logged but it was a surprisingly quick find, just lucky I guess.

Able to pull up right next to it. Analyzed the picture to see where it was taken from. Mr had narrowed it down by the time I made it over the ditch.. he still couldn't find it even tho his hand was floating right above it. So a easy find if you know what you're looking for
No go for me today, I looked in all the places I could think of. Got well dirty in the process.
On our way back from Pataua we stopped to find a few caches along the way. We have found several of these Advent caches before, so knew what we should be looking for. Traffic was light so we parked up on the wrong side of the road and dived into the bushes. One of us quickly spotted the container nearby. Thanks.
Day 2 of our Waitangi weekend road trip to collect a few puzzle series of caches that we have solved over the last month or so - plus any other caches that we can find on the way!
A lot of scrambling through the bushes and around the tree but to no avail!
Our first DNF of the day!

Have driven past this so many times and thought, "We must do that one day." So today we did. TFTC
#342 I had DNF'd this one much earlier on but it seems I forgot to record it. If you think that you are to the right of the tree, then you are not nearly right enough! GPS signal was very spotty. Mine said I was 30 m from the cache holding it. GPS averaging said 10 m. TFT(observation testing)C.
Slowly getting through the dates on the Advent Calendar, hopped over the ditch to secure Day 12, TFTC.
(1008) Second time lucky with this one. Thanks for the clues Riser. They certainly help with my GPS pointing me in all directions. Found well right of the large tree. TFTC.

Distance from original: 62 feet or 18.9 meters.
Although Butchie Bum made the grab, I went back and did a gps averaging. Hope these are better for you. If you see the large tree, you will need to be on the right side and then head up where you can.

Dnf . Too many kawakawa trees, would like a more detailed hint. Also a few dumped (plucked possum bodies) in the ditch.
Will our luck hold and we can tick off another of the Advent series today - no... this time we need to record a DNF. It was a case of too many Kawakawa trees and half of Whangarei driving passed on a beautiful "beach" Sunday.
It's the season to be jolly. So out caching after a nice day shopping. Another empty log book in this wee series .
