Logs
Cache has had a few DNFs which seems odd because most have found it easily. Time for a check.
A brand new month seemed like as good a reason as any to go 'bikeocaching'. Today we also made a short video showing some of the fun we had. A great day out with the four of us all helping with the various finds we made.... Mostly eclipse containers, but one or two that brought genuine smiles to our faces too. We are really enjoying the cycle way and hope to knock the rest off before we leave CHCH at the end of the year.
We had a thorough search and came up empty handed. Time for CO to check this one.

Looked a couple of times here with no luck. Today as the day, I had my caching glasses on.
Thanks for the hide.

Took a bit of searching, well hidden, but found it! Driving /walking around this area caching, but also filling up a bag with rubbish we see. TFTC
It was good to locate this one this time round.. The time i was armed with the new paperless GPS so i had the hint and it all made alot better sense..Your neat street is a temporary victim of all the building going on , on the the old air base and is struggling to be A neat street in terms of tidy but if neat is to mean Cool well it certainly has a lovely path/cycle way along the eastern side which is where i rode the bike..
It is well hiden and yet so casually placed. Thanks for this cache.

Busy area now, will soon be even busier. Hope the street does stay neat! Easily found cache. TFTC.
6388. After completing a cycle tour of the southern motorway bike path and Wigram subdivision this one was done on the way home. It was a quick find. The fragile container is already showing signs of damage. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
Quick find this time after somehow missing it during the race for FTF. TFTC (1208)
A busy road, so I hope the car shielded me from one stream of traffic. Took a bit of groping and rustling in the undergrowth before I found it. The little pop up lid was open and I didn't the bigger lid came off so attempted to extract the logbook and plastic bag through the tiny lid. Bad idea. The plastic bag ripped , sorry about that and I didn't have my caching kit with me to replace it.
When I realised that I wasn't able to extract the log this way, I had another go at the bigger lid and this time got it off. TFTC.

I've paid a few visits to Miss Neat's Street. Sometimes workmen prevented me from looking, othertimes I was just to blinded by the neatness to find it. Finally today, after visiting the cycle trail with Troodles and LoVista they stopped here for me on the way for a coffee so I could make the find. I mean, we were driving right past it and the workmen finally weren't here.
The cap isn't shutting properly and unfortunately I didn't have my geogeekbag with me or I would have replaced the ripped baggie. I didn't dawdle chatting with Miss Neat for too long as we were all hanging out for a cuppa but it was good to finally "meet her". TFTC

Second time lucky on this one. Quick easy find this time around. Thanks for the hide.
Found without too much difficulty. Had trouble opening the container lid. Not very easy, and not waterproof! Water will get in the little flip lid as it doesn't seal well.
I had a quick search in the identified spot...but with too many dried leaves and too much traffic in the area I didn't want to hang around too long so gave up the search and moved on...
After 5 or more minutes rummaging around unsuccessfully my kids were starting to get impatient so I abandoned the search for today.
Great day caching in Canterbury, this was one of 70 or more caches found, Cool start to the day, with the odd shower but fine for most of the day my first big caching road trip in a long time. - Many thanks to all the cache placers
Thanks Bitsprayer.

the street is not that neat at the mo, due to road works and cones. but none the less i found a cache, cheers buddy.
Had a good look for this one withou success, the hint had me further head scratching but will have to return.
TFTC. I am attempting to cache for 100 days in a row while also managing 250 caches per month total in my stats. So far I am at 51/100 and 222/250 for this month. Time will tell!!
On my way home from todays event I thought it would be rude to drive past these caches.
The key to retrieving this cache is following the hint exactly.
Thanks Nosynel for placing the cache.

It's days like today that I wish I wasn't on a streak... really really badly.
I did have the foresight to check the weather this time, and so did drive to work instead of bike, however this did mean I needed to cache in my work clothes after.
Decided I would go for an easy cache though - something along the lines of magnetic, and which has 'easy quick find' on most the logs.
But then I ended up needing to drop a colleague off home, and so the other cache I was planning on would have meant a huge detour. So I looked at GPS to see what else was about... closer by and along the way... and from a quick look, this appeared to fit the bill described earlier!
Arrived, parked, and hopped outside to tackle weather.
My, how this did not fit the bill...
Not magnetic... micro yes... but in a bush?! I rummaged around like crazy. I had to find this! If I did not, I would not be getting out of the car again!!
Spent a good 15 minutes there... till I was completely soaked through to the core... brrr!
And finally!!! Successs!!! Eventually... but by this point, my fingers were SO numb, that I couldn't actually open the cache container... and that ended up taking me another about 5 minutes of trying to dig my nails in, but having all my fingers numb!!
Eventually got there, and boy was I glad to then go home, take a shower, and wrap up in some warm woolies!!

Out on a Wigram cyclocache ride. Yahoo, the road workers have moved along a bit since my aborted attempt a month or two back. Nice quick find this time.
A bit difficult trying to be stealthy with the workmen about but after a couple of minutes the log has been signed. Worth repeating that the garden does not need stepping in to.
With a day or two spare at the end of our Christmas holidays, decided to head out for a full day caching. Roadworks going on at GZ at the moment. Luckily half the workers left just as we arrived. However had the digger driver curious for a bit. Bit hard to get the lid off the container but log was dry. TFTC!
Had to have a quick wee read of the logs then the cache was all mine. TFTC. Cheers Bo
We enjoyed the day caching in this area

So many caches done to remember all, but got a kick out of all that we found (0ver 600 in 8 days)

Had a couple of ummm errr moments read the logs and revisited the hint. Not long after had the cache in hand. Pleased to report that the log is nice and dry after the recent rain. Tftc
Well that's the longest I've taken to find a cache. Ended up pafing and still we had issues finding it. Have placed back semi visible as I don't think that the locals would appreciate their garden being trampled, which is what has happened. To future finders. Its 5m out, in front of the sign. Stay on the foot path. Tftc (I think)
Came out for a few caches on a Christmas day run. Road a little busy but Chelzea found it in the end between the cars going by. TFTC
I stopped by here for only a couple of minutes as it was very busy and the "under survellience 24 hours" sign made me a little wary. Had a quick look but nothing jumped out "cache" so I'll come back in the dark when I think I'll feel a little less exposed.
An easy find 6m or so from the coords. Having not read previous logs I did walk across the garden before spotting it well within reach from the path. I'm not really sure what qualifies this spot for a cache other than "there wasn't one here". Unless it's a chance to watch the subdivision being built over the road?

Out and about on an evenings caching adventure with TW. Still some light left in the day....started the search with apprehension (as I'd DNF'd previously), and I'd warned TW....but surprised ourselves by making a quick find. Co-ords seemed a bit off....also, cache was sitting out in the open. Tucked it in a bit but easily grabbed from the path. Cheers.
Out on a cache raid with Team_Gaters to collect a few of the multitude of recently published caches. The weather looked promising and we were both hoping the rain would stop as both of us were painting house exteriors tomorrow. TG had DNFed this one and we were determined to get it tonight. We fanned out our search and found the critter. Hmm, nice change a tictak consumer. It's usually a mint container.
Cache 3 of 19 for the evening.
Thanks for the cache.

GPS had us at wrong spot for a while. Just about to give up when ...there it was.tftc
Went back for another go after a helpful hint we got from fellow cachers we met along the way and were successful this time

Did not help last time that the coordinates are out by about 6 meter. But at least nobody in the garden today, so plenty of time for a long hunt.
Did not want to search too long as already some movement in the nearby house. May have to come back at night.
Came past in the evening...started searching. But occupant of house straight behind fence poked there head out a window (which had been left open).....must have heard me pull up in car and hop out - and were investigating why someone had pulled up. They didn't see me as such. Cache wasn't straight to hand and I didn't want to unduely stress the neighbour so moved on....
I thought Miss Neat's street was quite tidy. Found in the afternoon and surprised that it was a second to find. Thanks.
ZSaw that this one had come out so off I went on a mission. third to find but that was expected as it had been released a while. TFTC.
