As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Really?? No 'needs maintenance' log and the cache is archived within 12 days? A bit exteme huh?
Will be in town on 9th Sept so will check it out.

Out with Tiga and the crew for a ride which took us to the Waharoa cheese factory so deviated on the way (as you do) to pick up a couple of caches.
No luck here even though I'm sure we were in the right spot. Had a good poke around and even spread the search area. No barking dog today but plenty of leaf litter.

Took a Motorbike trip over the Kaimai's to join up with some of our Tga Ulyssians at the Waharoa Cheese factory for lunch.
Had a good look but not luck. Nice park.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 14 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

Nup. Way too curious neighbours over low fences... Maybe one of them has it? No ground cover either so swept away? Or I didn't spend more than 5 minutes looking?
not really a DNF as we didn't really have a good looked as Gps was pointing towards the barking Dog so we just carried on to next cache.
Hmmm... So obvious this time around. Maybe the proximity of the neighbours dog last time was a distraction... TFTC
I'll blame the muggle factor too! Ha!
Lovely to be back so soon to correct an error.
It's all good to go here. As others have well established.
TFTC.

Nahkins and I packed the motor-home and headed to Matamata for a weekend of geocaching. #3/13. This was on Centennial Dr. walk we did, finding caches on the way. A bit chilly walking under the trees this morning. Nahkins beat me to the find again. SL. TFTC.
Road trip to Matamata for NZPatoto & I, staying overnight in the motor-home to collect the smiles in the surrounding area. Overall it was a really neat weekend with lots of fun & laughter.
This was 4 of 17 for the round trip. Motor-home parked, foot power to find the caches. Once at GZ was a very easy find by me. Just knew where it would be. Lovey walk and nice and quiet. TFTC

There's obvious signs of arboriculture activity, of recent kind. One wonders if that might be related to the difficulty I had trying to find this cache, and then the lack of success.
A great place to visit in this late autumn-just winter time. Great colours and masses of fallen leaves.
Probably worth a check by the CO.

Homward bound from Rotorua. Weather much better, so able to stop and get some caching done. Nice hide here on a quiet Sunday. SL. TFTC.
This is a lovely place to either drive or walk through which I never really new was even here. Had to watch out for nosey muggles and also took TB to continue on its way. TFTC

Heute war ein Besuch in Hobbiton geplant und vorher sollten noch ein paar Caches mit Wurftaube in Matamata eingesammelt werden. Auf unserer Runde trafen wir mehrmals auf die 3 Girls aus Österreich. TFTC and Greetings from Germany!
in the early morning moorhuhn5 and myself walked in this wonderful park and looked for some caches. three times we met geochachers from austria on several caches.tftc and greetings from germany.
Nice easy find. Watch the dog it stuck its head through the fence. I had to walk away with our dog while cam_777 replaced cache.
Have briefly looked for this one before but run out of time - found it today (well, my daughter-in-law did actually) on a quick shopping trip over in Matamata. TFTC
A long time in the planning but this "once in a lifetime" holiday has finally come to fruition and will see us travelling around as much of New Zealand as we can manage in six weeks. This is not a caching trip, Yvonne doesn't participate but she does tolerate, so I hope to pick up a few here and there. And it's great to get away from the English Winter!
Day 35
Staying in Matamata two nights with the specific purpose of doing the Hobbiton tour this morning, which was just as good as expected! With a free afternoon I took the opportunity to mop up some of the local caches (and get a bit of exercise).
I just needed a couple of muggles to walk on by and then moved in for an instant find as it was in plain sight. I left it better covered.
BaSHful.

Before we could sign the logbook, we had to wait for the muggles to leave. It's a nice spot, so some people spent their lunch break there.
Finally we were alone and could grab the cache. T4tc

#11756. Second cache in a row with muggle issues, but this one was much easier to spot. TFTC.
Today we leave Auckland and are headed to Mt Maunganui, not via SH2 on which we have travelled a few times in the last couple of weeks, but via the scenic route: Matamata and the Kaimai Ranges. Not a lot of caching opportunities along the way, but we were grateful for the caches we did find to break up the journey.
This time there was a camper van near GZ, this side of town seems to be mugglier than the north. Luckily the cache was an instant find. TFTC.

Driving through Matamata on our way north from Turangi we wished we could have spent longer here but enjoyed a lovely drive along the Centennial Drive and some convenient caches. We soon found this signed and returned. Took TB to move on. TFTC
Lady hanging her washing out and yes lots of dog walkers. Beautiful part of town I never knew existed.
Cheers

Like before, didn't want to hang around too long since houses are right there. Not sure what "GL" meant, a plant maybe? Will get it next time
Very nice park. Spoke with the president of the committee (who maintains the park). Gave me an insight of the park. Very nice park, nice for a nice day
the search for the container was easy, only 1 place it could be, and there it was
GPS had us in the wrong spot so we used our keen geocache intuition. Good find with Em. tftc, theGLS
Traffic was manic this afternoon as we headed on our way to Tauranga for the holidays. We usually head SH2 through Paeroa / Waihi but as the traffic was not moving coming down the Bombays, we made the quick decision of heading via Matamata instead. While the traffic appeared to be moving, once we hit the roadworks near Rangiriri, we also grinded to a halt. It was also very hot with outside temperature at 30ºC as we crept along. The top surface of tar had melted along the road.
Anyhow, we made it to Matamata for an icecream and a few caches before carrying on our way. This was our first stop and a nice quick find, TFTC!

Got to GZ and I thought to myself 'hmm that spot over there is perfect for a cache but the coords don't take me there...' So I went with the coords and had no luck after 10 minutes so decided to widen my search and have a look in the initial place I thought of... Soon had the cache in hand! TFTC made sure it was adequately covered.
Initially I thought this was a walking/cycling track - but I can take the car around!! Awesome
Found quickly and in good condition, lightly covered but in the obvious spot.
Cheers KrisTim

Another find while on our visit from Perth WA. Mr 3 really wanted to swap 'treasures' but we didn't come very well prepared, leaving our geocaching treasure bag back home. scrounged around in my handbag for some things to swap, need to get some goodies for tomorrow's adventures!
A lovely walk and drive here. It's a pity more places don't have restful spots like this, although the loudspeakers from the festival make it somewhat noisier then usual...
Picked up TB and dropped a couple of SWAGGIES

Found quite easily so decided to drop off a travelling trackable. It should be safe here until the next wanderer picks it up. Safe travels little one. tftc
We logged a DNF for this in the middle of last year - we now see many logs indicating it was not at the waypoint then, but was moved back by the owner in December - many thanks, that made all the difference!
A particularly easy find this time as the last cacher did not cover it - we could see if from the car! It is better covered now.
Many thanks for the hide, and - one of many that come and go along this unique drive in Matamata.
- dropped off the Jack Pine TB from Canada to continue its travels around New Zealand

Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for the cache.

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Today our trip continued from Tauranga to Hamilton. Of course with some caching on the way. We had lots of fun and saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

17th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.
This was my sixteenth stop of the day which would end up being a 260km round trip from Tauranga to Matamata via Rotorua, Tirau, Okororie and other small towns. Got 29 caches, a photo to complete a virtual cache and two TB's.
The neighbour next door was washing his car so I turned on ninja mode and stealthed my way to the cache and retreated with it to sign it then stealthed my way back in to replace it.
Thanks KrisTim.
I wish I had bought my bike for this series but nevermind.

Great spot I know the people who live behind the fence and they said that they had a lot of strangers lurking around their place and wondered what was going on. Now they know!
Had planned to leave "City Bug" here on our way back to Auckland after taking him to Rotorua but cache has been muggled. Also picked up trackable for safe keeping .
In from Adelaide Australia having visited Hobbiton we decided to find a cache in which to drop a trackable we bought with us from Australia. Centennial walk was so pretty with the camillias and cherry trees out. It was an easy find and looks like lots have found it before us. Thanks for the find.
Having shown JB my birth place, having visited Grandma, had a nice coffee and we wanted a Matamata find before we left. Nice quick find today.

Now if I had been smarter I would have grabbed this group of caches systematically, however as I wasn't that organised and realised there was a simple method to these caches I found I backtracked heaps to find them all. I had a good look at this area and I found it really delightful. Being such a lovely warm sunny spring day made this an even more enjoyable outing.
