I had a spare couple of hours this morning and Ive been eyeing off a loop here for a while. Today was the lucky day. You have to be looking at the right spot and the right time to find this one. TFTC
Out on a day off grabbing a few locals. T f t c. Haven't been here for ages. Nice to be brought back. Quick grab after we opened our eyes.
Over from NZ visiting and doing as much caching as other commitments allow. After attending a CITO on the northside this morning, decided to spend the rest of the day finding caches on my list that were in the area.My main targets were the challenge caches in Tinchi Tamba and I think I picked a good day, with a little bit of breeze, no mozzies and lots of kangaroos. Of course I was also going to look for any others that I would be passing as well. After narrowly avoiding the army training manouvers, carried on to this one. Thought that this could have been a hard one, but once at indicated GZ, turned around and there it was. Phew, that was fortunate. TFTC
Found this one while enjoying a walk around completing the AdLab.Took me a while to find it, I was expecting it to be lower.TFTC
TripleTurmoil, elina_maree and I spent this afternoon caching at Tinchi Tamba. We found 16 challenge caches, 6 trads and completed the AdLab and bonus cache. It was perfect weather, the tracks were all fairly dry and there were no mozzies at all today, just heaps of kangaroos. After navigating to 17 other caches and taking too many photos along the way, my phone battery had run out. We decided not to got back to the car and recharge it but continued on to look for the Island track caches before it got too dark. So I was flying blind on this one. EM was still trying to puzzle through the clues in the cache description when TT turned around and spotted the cache. A nice why for her to avenge her DNF here. Thanks for the tricky hide Landkg!
BrisyCat and Elina_maree were heading to Tinchi Tamba to collect a pile of challenges and invited me to join them. It was about a 3 hr amble through the spelling the month challenges and everything along the way. This was the last one for me for today. I needed to redeem a DNF and I did.
This one was the hardest find of the day funnily enough. Tricky for some reason. Got there though! Thanks for this.
With a DNF here back in March 2022 & noticing that the last two cachers both logged DNFs I was not hopeful of a find here. Spotting the cache gave me a wonderful sense of achievement & shows how 20 months of extra experience pays off. TFTC
That took a little longer than expected. I need to check out my surroundings to narrow my search.

Well that was more obvious then we thought feel like a right muppet now 20 mins of waking around in the dark with phone lights looking down even passed by it a good 15 times between us
Taking a walk after a nearby event with DisSister, Dragonsky, Bulldozer, and the Bowmans, we stopped for this extremely wet log cache and found it very quickly thanks to Bulldozer’s eagle eyes.TFTC, Landkg. =^.^=
After the event, KerriMG and I walked around this lovely area doing the AL finding a few caches along the way. This took a little while to spot but then found the log wet and impossible to sign so I replaced the logsheet. Tftc
Found today while attending the nearby event in the company of several other cachers on a pleasant sunday morning.
As mentioned the log is wet and we attempted to sign as best possible.
Thanks for bringing me to this area. TFTC

Found quite quickly once at GZ.
Mosquitos are absolutely no joke here. We layered up but not enough and left the spray in the car. Damn. You live and you learn.
Log is wet and needs replacing.

Landkg I found your cache Slips Cache on 6/3/2023, 11:25 am. This is my find 4808 and find # 3 today. Found it after a bit of a search. Logbook wet but managed to sign. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Beautiful location - we were able to find this box during our Adventure Lab tour.
Great area grabbed this one as it was on the route of the Adventure Lab, took a bit of finding and unfortunately the log is very wet, signed as best as i could. TFTC Landkg
A beautiful morning for caching in the area with not a mosquito in sight! It must just be the right day for it and I returned to the car with dry feet too. I did some circling before catching a glimpse of the little container. The cache was spotted and the log was damp but I was able to sign it (just) and the cache was replaced as found. Thanks Landkg for this one.
A quick find for the geo-daughter. Knew we kept her around for a reason! Tftc
Finally in the area doing some maintenance on a cache I adopted nearby. Walked around for ages before finally spotting the hide. TFTC
I stopped by this one while doing the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands AdLab. It took me a few minutes to spot the cache. Lucky I was standing in the right spot!

Spending the afternoon gathering caches in the Tinchi Tamba wetlands. After picking up most of the challenge caches I had a bit of time left to grab the trads and AL on the boardwalk loop.

Finally found it. Cant believe it has taken us this many attempts when so easy. The hint put us off for sure. Tftc
This was a very sneaky hide. We searched for quite awhile and were almost ready to give up when suddenly it was spied.
Log signed, and then we continued our walk on this incredibly beautiful spring day.
Thanks

What better way to spend some quality time with my lovely partner than chasing down a few AdLabs and stomping through Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve trying to scare off the monster kangaroos of which she is terrified!
We also managed a few random caches along the way.
This was a really quick find for Mrs VC while I was distracting a curious muggle photographer with conversation.
All good with the cache.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

This evening, I headed north to Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. My aim was the completion of *Tinchi Tamba Wetlands* Adventure Lab, as well as checking out a few of the challenges that were scattered around. Much to my surprise, the cold and nippy night had scared off the mosquito hoardes, as I didn't see any. Subsequently, I had a rather nice walk around the area, spending an enjoyable three hours under torchlight before departing back home for a late dinner.
I was initially scared about this geocache's previous notes and DNFs, but after looking around the area and taking several loops amongst the trees, I managed to make find within 5-10 min of searching. As I was taking the container apart, I dropped half the bugger, and so I was then worried that finding that would consume more of my time than my initial search, but luckily it didn't bounce too far. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Landkg for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

The mozzies were out of control, they won in the end, spent a good half he having a look, have to regroup and try again
Lovely walk to this one with krcamber and jodsta83. Krcamber spotted the find quickly while I walked the other way haha.

In the area doing the AL nearby with krcamber and swearah. Krcamber spotted this quickly before my GPS had a chance to settle. Tftc Landkg
Glad to convert this to a find. A few meters from my target area.

While in the area looking at the AL and some of the Challenge Caches I thought I’d stop and look for this cache as I was walking past... a nice quick find with spot on co-ordinates... I just don’t get cricket...
I needed a gentle walk to ease some sore leg muscles and this was the perfect place for it. Cache was found safe and dry.

What a gorgeous part of the world. I can't believe I've never been down here.
We came down this way to do the AL in the area and thought we would grab a few caches while here.
The kids were busy looking at all the Cicada shells that were littered across the ground and on the trees. We could hear them making noises in the bush as well. Gotta love the beauty of nature. While I was looking at yet another cicada shell that one of the kids had found hubby had found it literally 1m away from where I was standing. If only I was facing the other way lol. TFTF

nice walk on an overcast day, mosquitoes out in force seemingly immune to bug-spray. cache spotted with an eagle eye. Thanks for placing and maintaining cache.
Hmmm, we have no clue about this one. Didn’t understand the clue and kids’ patients exhausted. Will have to try another time.
Out with Granny Smith 1947 to complete the wetlands.
Wondered around here a bit and soon spied it.

Out with Team Tyrrell and GeoNayfee for a paddle this morning. We came in and said hey there’s a few over there we can do. So we quickly packed up the gear and headed over to do three caches around the boardwalk. As geonayfee had done these already he decided to come along for the walk. I think he is regretting it now, as the mozzies were eating everything, we counted approximately 45 mozzies on his back at one point, while team Tyrrell was waving a branch around like a madman to keep them at bay. We grabbed all 3 caches and saw the tether for the now disabled cache.
A series of caches and a nice walk around shame about the mozzies even with spray on, LOL.
Thanks for placing them here.

Out hunting with Chamad. Nice easy find. Unable to sign log as very damp. Mozzies everywhere. Arrrrrrgh.
Couldn't make sense of the clue, mozzies were relentless and a lot of people walking past, so we gave up after 10 or so minutes.
With today being a clear fine day, I thought I’d head on down to Tinchi Tampa Reserve to clear out a few Trads and sign the logs on some of the challenge caches in the area as well.
I spent a good 4 hours wandering the trails and I walked about 12 km’s in total (I’ll feel that in the morning) It was my first time coming here, even though I’ve lived in the area for the past 5 years. This is why I enjoy caching so much, it takes you places you wouldn’t usually visit.
The scenery was stunning, especially around the water and the amount of Kangaroos I saw was amazing! They would just sit and watch me until I got a little too close, then they’d hop along.
All in all it was a great afternoon hunting caches.
My second last cache to find and it was starting to get dark, so I needed to rush this find. After poking around in afew spots I eventually found it, but the log was mush, so I couldn’t sign.

I had two goes to find this one. After failing to find it earlier today, I did the others, and then looked back to find this one. Nice little hide. TFTC
Part I of the Tinchi Tamba wetlands mystery tour On foot today but can see it may be quicker to come back with the bike and have another run at it Some of the trickier hides slowed me down. Was facing the wrong way and turned around to spot the cache No need to dive into the slips.

This took a while, with a bouncing GPS. Read and re-read the description, but could not make out what the hint was referring to. In the end, resorted to searching every tree until bingo. The log in this one is very damp and may need replacing soon. TFTC Landkg
It looks as if we forgot to log all the caches that we found on the 21st, thankfully google gives us a view to refresh our memories, no problems with this one. SL TFTC
The mozzies were biting today, and so I did not put too much effort into seeking this one out.
A wander around the caching pitch today,
took me out here to catch another one
Almost a stumping here !!
But with the gloves on I soon caught this cache in the mangrove cordon

This took us a long time to find. We walked around in circles for 45 minutes before we found what we were looking for. Tftc
Took us a while to find this one, mainly because we had our backs to the cache most of the time. I think the hint might have gone over our heads..
Quick and easy find. Out for a few caches for the day, month challenges, 15 years of unloved and finish our dt grid. TNLN. TFTC.

#4385. I flew over to Brisbane this morning for a conference next week. But gave myself a few days of leave before the meeting to do some geocaching. Headed out this way to pick up some challenge caches but while out here I was also planning on picking up any nearby traditionals. Went for a nice wander down this walkway beside the tidal river. Took a few minutes to spot this cache. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Landkg.
Note Wellington is hosting the "Wellington Geocaching Event 2018" on 21-22 October 2018. Hope to see some Australian cachers over there and give it a chance to become a Mega.

I thought this one was going to be difficult but it took no time to have it found, log signed and cache replaced. Off to next one now. TFTC
I was in Brisbane today and as I was not working today, I decided that I should grab the remaining caches in this area that I had not attempted previously.
This was one of several found.
After signing the log, it was returned to the cache and the cache replaced as found.
