I'm on a cosmic quest which saw me heading towards Whyalla today with martini.989. With martini.989 having completed the larger trails around the area, we targeted this short series. A quick find here TFTC!

Found while passing through Whyalla during a trip to Eyre Peninsula for a few days. Thanks for the cache and Xmas-themed series on-cache-patrol!
Came searching for the cool clouds and picked up some local geocaches on the way. TFTC SL
After wandering around W.A. for the last 3 months, caravanning, caching and hunting wildflowers we are slowly making our way home to Adelaide. Stayed here in Whyalla for a few days as way too windy to travel. So while waiting for the wind to ease we cached. We put a new log in. T.F.T.C.
Continuing our celebrations of birthday week for the cats, Purrfect Di and Mattycat decided to go do some more birthday caching and see what we can unwrap in the way of iron triangle log books. Yours was one we found along the way, with the help of Jack. Quite a fun packed day finding all sorts.
This little trail caught our attention early in the day. Most feeling their age but there to find and sign!
Didn't see reindeer, but there was a horse back there a bit...
Sincere thanks to on-cache-patrol for placing and maintaining this cache on our geo game map
[:o)]
I must note that we certainly do appreciate the way those mint tins age to blend in with the rusty outback earth!!! Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, plastic cracks and mint tins rust!
---
Searching around every day finding and signing using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Quite a lot of that actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
---
Please do stay as safe as possible when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Much appreciation of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
[^] [:o)] [^]
A great caching start to Twenty Twenty Too

After finishing the day on the fire crew at the Drag Strip it was time for some geocaching TFTC
This was a really quick and easy trail to follow, but sadly the caches are very neglected and the containers mostly need to be replaced, as do the logs. Some TLC would make the series much better.
A mini power trail where the containers were all easy to find, but they were not in very condition at all. TFTC.
Sadly, it's time for us to travel towards home after enjoying a week in Alice - but not without finding caches and enjoying the sights

So, it was the final day of the drive back to Adelaide and, having stayed in Whyalla overnight, the decision was made to spend the morning caching around Whyalla before making the drive back to Adelaide, finding caches along the way. It was a good start to the day as the finds were made quite quickly. Along with finding the caches at a quick pace, there were also quality hides in good areas. Once it got to about one in the afternoon, the decision was made to begin the journey back to Adelaide. As we drove, the occasional stop was made at a parking bay along the side of the road to find a cache, it almost seemed like there was a cache in every one. Finally, after a long day, we finally returned home and, unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

This cache is a little tricky because its a bit further away than what the map says
This weekend, I headed to Whyalla to catch up with a few other Geocachers and attempt some of the trails there. On Saturday, we targeted the FTF power trail from Whyalla to Iron Knob, and then spent the evening and the subsequent morning driving some of Whyalla's back tracks. On Sunday, I visited Cowleds Landing and back north, only to get severely bogged in one of Whyalla's clay pans. I then returned home via the August series.
Today, we started the day at a meet/greet breakfast event, and then I headed out with hevwalker and scramping for a few more geocaches south-west of Whyalla along the back tracks and main road, followed by the December trail series. I then continued south visiting Cowleds Landing and the proclaimed nudist beach. I next found *Potty Time*, only to realise that I had driven on the nearby clay pans, and then sank into the soft clay below on my way out. Eventually I had help in getting out, and finished my remaining time in Whyalla completing the pipeline August series, and calling into Whyalla Conservation Park for a few high favourite caches. I then made the long journey back to Adelaide stopping at a few miscellaneous geocaches along the way.
We managed to complete the remainder of this December series together in hevwalker's vehicle. This was the only geocache that we had a little trouble on, and after 5-7 minutes of looking, we finally found the container with the coordinates a little out. It was actually hidden in the next bush over, so I suspect natural cache creep has occurred. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks on-cache-patrol for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After a great day and evening of caching with hevwalker and Davidwazza yesterday where we did the FFT powertrail, visited Iron Knob, back tracks and miscellaneous caches of Whyalla we started off the day with an early breakfast event put on by Davidwazza. We decided to approach this powertrail in one vechicle so Davidwazza jumped in hevwalkers car with us and we pumped out this trail in no time flat with all caches found quickly and good condition. I love christmas and I'm counting the days down to be able to put up the tree and get into the christmas magic. Get ready Rudoph it's not long now. TFTC.
In Whyalla with scramping for a few days on a mini holiday break...
We went out caching this morning before the weather got too hot and windy...
Davidwazza jumped in my car to take one along this shortened trail...
Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose...is that how he finds caches...I have had a reindeer on the dash of my car for about 3 years now

Found on the way to Cowleds.
Thanks on-cache-patrol. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Came across this series on way to Cowled....
All quick finds, replaced a few containers too...
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

Found on a cold and overcast day. I am staying at the Caravan park at the start of the road so take a drive down it to find some caches was a must. An easy find. TFTC.
Find #679 on trip around Australia with Willow the little black adventure cat. See vancatmeow.com for updates on where we are. 23 months on the road.
Thanks for the cache!

#6563 - 12:08; Day 8 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. Caching in and around Whyalla today and along the roads into and out of town we collected 69 finds and 6 DNFs. We visited many places of interest today in our travels and most of our finds were in good condition. We were now headed along Mullaquans Road collecting this shortened version of the 12 days of Christmas. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC on-cache-patrol
Alice trip 2017. Day 6. With Sol de Lune and LuckL10n we spent today caching around Whyalla during a bit of s detour on our drive to Alice Springs. Heaps of caches with lots of DNFs we skipped but me managed a good day of caching. We found eight of these, were there more once ? The last three were actually in grader rubble, but we moved them to a safe spot.
Thanks.

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Out and about exploring some more of Whyalla with CAD on our last day here... Grabbing a few of this little series ... Rudolph is my favourite! T4TC:)
An early morning cache run on a HOT December morning. Went out with the Geo-daughters.
Luckily have not encountered any snakes today.

found on the way to a party in port lincoln. an easy find right where it should be
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache on-cache-patrol.
Found by Mary & David at 1040. Did a few caches around Whyalla this morning, before caching our way south to Cowell. Little yellow daisies everywhere. We saw reindeer/caribou in Alaska a few years back. Found it ok after a brief search. Our thanks to on-cache-patrol.
Out early this morning to get a few more caches. Good to find the cache. Thanks to on-cache-patrol.
