I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Still needs archive.

Hi Bartfound

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either relocate it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Regards

Made a quick solve of this puzzle while in the area today, I went to quickly check for it, but it seems like the box has been upgraded with all the works and the cache is no longer there.

18-Feb-21
This is half a “needs maintenance” and half a “needs archive” posting.

The cache is probably missing since a new electrical box has been put in place, however as caches are not allowed on power boxes anymore...it at minimum needs to be relocated...

The reference to 5221 matches the box in this photo at the final solved coords.

A nice quick find today. Forgot to log it earlier, so here is a catch up log. Cheers.

I was am awesome weekend away with the team.

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Day 3 New Plymouth to Christchurch via a few hours in Auckland!
Brilliant thunderstorm shattering the nights sleep. But the day dawned fine. A morning caching in NP before our lunchtime flight to Auckland. Just the way the bookings worked out we ended up with 5 odd hours in Auckland (the afternoon) before our flight home to Christchurch. Initially we just thought a few caches on a walk around the airport...or maybe a rental...then I suggested solving and finding a few of the new Crayola series. And so it was. On arriving in AKL we quickly grabbed a rental (a tiny Yaris - poor thing)...piled in and boosted it out to the series. We had about 2.5 hours before needing to return for food & our evening flight.
A nice one....cheers.

11-Aug-19
We had a 5 hour layover in Auckland so grabbed a poor wee Yaris and raced around Karaka. Got this one the way back, really impressed by all the colour in the cemetery.

Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with TheWanglers, Karma Reprint and Team Gators to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2

Cheers Bartfound for the cache

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 3: We headed out after an enormous thunderstorm last night to a lovely morning to do a few more around NP before returning the car and head to Auckland for a few hours to do the Crayola series. Our morning in NP was a bit tough due to a few DNFs. The Auckland leg was fantastic we gave the poor wee Yaris a good go cruising around the countryside. We got back to the airport in plenty of time to end up waiting for and hour or so due to the inclement weather around the country.
Nice hide.

Thanks for the cache Bartfound.

Find 63 of 64 for today.
Find 223 of 224 for the trip.

05-May-19
Solved part of this ages ago took ages today to finish and find. This is why we find so few caches per day. Thanks for the easy puzzle and find.

17-Nov-18
The best kind of puzzle - quick and easy - solved a while ago. Quick find in good condition today. TFTC.

I've been up in Auckland with my lad for a few days now, and today was his last day before flying back down south.

So having just seen him off, I thought I would stop and have a quick go at this one. I took a look at it last night, and kinda half solved it, but not completely. So having parked up near GZ, I was wandering around looking for something that might fit the Hint. After about 10 minutes, and with the light failing, I spotted a possibility which turned out to be correct.

So I was happy with the find, and signed the log accordingly, even though I didn't completely solve the puzzle. But thanks for the cache, which is in great condition, and for giving me a reason to stop here.

On a 24hr mission to Auckland with Philip.Perry and three of my kids started caching at about 3pm getting back to accommodation at 330am then up and back on the road for a xouple of hours before heading home. We decided we had three caches we had to find this mission then the rest was all about getting our numbers up so concentrated on a high cache area. Meet Sethraven just on dusk who helped us on a cache we couldnt find before she headed home so that was great. Really enjoy caching in Auckland at night no traffic and no muggles to get in our way. We only had a few DNF caches for the day which isnt to bad. Thanks to all th CO for the caches.

21-Jul-18
Had a cheeky Auckland Mission on the cards this weekend - just had to drop the family off in Pukekohe first and then meet up with Davidsonclan. We had a few caches on the list today but mainly this was just a numbers mission. A late start meant we'd be late to finish but 3am isn't too bad. There were some great finds and some grotty finds Smile but cheers to the CO's and those that help maintain their caches. I hadn't actually planned to find this one but DC took one look at it and started on the solve right away. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords a straight forward placement. Cheers again Bartfound, TFTC.

Lovely place to stop and make a very quick find. have been waiting an age. I was in the area today so smilie added thx.

22-Feb-18
Solved this one about a month ago but never seemed to have time to pick up or not the right time. Today as the exception as had time to burn.
Clever camo. Nice puzzle.
TFTC.

16-Feb-18
Good gracious where is everybody - it's almost a year since this cache was last found! Something rather funny had happened here meaning that the cache was stuck in place - - - maybe that's why people haven't been finding it. Was pretty confident it was the cache so gave it a good solid nudge and there was the log Smile. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Smile.

09-Apr-17
Every time I come here, or pass by it's always busy! today was no exception, didn't see any processions today though. The cache was spot on with the co-ords and I was on my way, thanks for the puzzle, it was high time I collected this.

03-Apr-17
I think this is one of the first puzzles I solved and it's been sitting on my solved puzzle list for a couple of years. I was heading to the airport to collect a friend so decided to stop and collect this cache on my way. I had just arrived at GZ when a large funeral procession arrived to turn into the gardens. I pretended I was waiting to be picked up, then once the coast was clear, I swooped in and made a nice quick find. As I was signing the log, another procession arrived... the gardens were busy today.

06-Mar-17
Solved this a while ago and managed to pick up on my way past today. Tftc

25-Feb-17
Second find for the day and a good one to do while geowife is working as she doesn't like being around cemeteries. Parked up inside and strolled down to GZ, there was just a few families paying respects to their loved ones so no chance of disturbing anyone. Very useful hint had the cache quickly in hand, thanks. Thanks for the puzzle - like others I solved this a while ago when I was new to puzzle solving, a very good introduction to puzzles so well done.

24-Feb-17
I knew I would be near Puhinui Rd on Friday so solved this one last week .
Could it really be so simple !
Yes ! Thanks Bartfound for this Mystery I could do on my own ! I was even able to help someone else !
Easy find of final ! Funny !

21-Sep-16
Thanks for the easy mystery! There aren't enough like this to help newbies get started! Relatively easy cache find too Smile tftc!

19-Aug-16
Found while I was in the area this morning. TFTC

23-Apr-16
I spent an enjoyable four weeks in New Zealand. I saw a lot of beautiful natural sites. On the way back from south to north, I found this cache. Thanks for the cache, greetings from Prague.

06-Apr-16
I see that I followed in the footsteps of my neighbours to this one.
Another mystery done., although I did feel a tad uncomfortable fossil king around.
TFTC

06-Apr-16
New to mystery caches so was quite excited to find this one at the coordinates I'd come up with!! Had to be quick - not an easy place to try and look inconspicuous, especially when a huge procession of cars start to drive slowly by as Mr. B. is signing the log. TFTC!

24-Mar-16
Very clever hide... Love these types of caches. Tftc.

03-Feb-16
Quick find. Good hint. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii.

#10556. After quite a few DNFs yesterday, it looked like we might start the day with another DNF. Luckily Troodles spotted the cache before we gave up. TFTC.

29-Dec-15
After an early coffee, we loaded up the bikes and headed for Puhinui Reserve, the main aim was to find the 1/5 diff/terrain cache which is missing from both our D/T grids. Mission accomplished!
We don't like driving past a solved puzzle so drove into the gardens and found a park, then walked back to GZ. We obviously didn't have our caching glasses on today as the cache took an age to find. I was beginning to doubt my solving skills when at last I spotted it. Why didn't I check here before?
After signing the logbook, StreetWalker went back for the car while I attempted to replace the cache, which took almost as long as the finding, to get it back satisfactorily.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

22-Dec-15
Vistra and I decided to make an early morning of it and try and get some numbers around the airport, particularly some of the newer ones, had previously solved this one, but for whatever reason the coords didnt come across onto the gps, but no matter it was possible on site, then a bit of a search and the cache showed itself.

Having finished work for the year and being greeted with a nice fine day, yorkshirekiwi83 and I decided to head out and do a bit of caching around Manukau and Mangere. Solved this ages ago and soon found the cache at GZ. TFTC!

Found after dropping friends at the airport. Busy area on a Sunday,

17-Oct-15
Had to travel to Auckland for a work meeting so decided to gather a few caches with Squirrel Nutcase.

3.30pm - Got a bit stumped with questions so went by hint. Soon found cache container but with no log sheet so replaced with new one. SLTFTC

17-Oct-15
Day 47 of a 50-day streak... Sharing the adventure with Gap (of Fap and Gap).

Gap had a meeting to attend at the airport. So it seemed like a good idea for us to have a crack at a nearby trail or two. There looked like a bit of action out around the Waste Water Plant... So we headed in that direction. Any thought of a quick round-up was dashed when we saw who the predominant CO was (G-2)... Looks like we could be in for some fun...

We are going to assume that we found the cache... Everything seemed to compute, right down to finding some of the hints. The cache-like object we found was camouflaged and magnetic, but there wasn't a log to sign (though there was an obvious 'something' for a log to be stuck to). We added a new log and returned everything as found. TFTP and TFTC.

a nice and easy solve, although the find was not quite where expected

Out with lokky1 on a crisp winters morning! Solved on the way out south. Quick find between traffic groups! Tftc

03-Jun-15
Teamed up with 11HPG11 tonight for main reason to locate the 3 international multi's in Auckland, as I had had the final co-ordinates for a week or two but didn't really have enough time to head North to find them. It was at a point of either now or maybe in two or three weeks, so we just had to bite the bullet and get the job done. Though we could of picked a better night to do it as a storm was coming through and it rained pretty much the entire night, still we had a lot of fun in the rain and we managed to achieve what we came here to do.

We left Hamilton about 5.30pm and made the round trip including a walk around Puhinui Reserve and made it back home before midnight, not a bad effort I don't think.

Solved this one ages ago, and driven past many times. No many people about tonight and I don't blame them. Took a few minutes to find, very crafty hide.

03-Jun-15
In the area tonight with HKCB so thought it would be rude not to stop and grab this. Took 2 goes, going to blame the storm and torrential rain that made searching that little bit harder. Nice work on the camo job

01-Jun-15
No problems with the puzzle, nor with the find this afternoon. Thanks.

03-May-15
Solved this one and grabbed the find while in the area today TFTC.

03-May-15
Had solved this one some time ago and as we were in the area it would have been rude not to stop. Nice quick find at GZ. Thanks

08-Apr-15
It was bothering me that I had not solved this after finding it, so I made the quick solve this morning! Nice and easy!

07-Apr-15
In the area a lot lately and have glanced at this puzzle a couple of times but put it off. Today, with a bit of time to spare after a horrific team DNF I stopped on my way home on a hunch. My hunch was correct. No need to even solve the puzzle, my name's in the log! Nice camo!!! Thanks!

28-Mar-15
I was on my back from the North Shore when I decided to pick up the odd cache.

I like nice easy puzzles, thanks.

Cheers for the cache.

26-Mar-15
Oh I like these quick solve and find puzzle caches. A quick park and grab on the first day of my NZ cache tour. Visiting form Sydney. Coords spot on. TFTC

31-Jan-15
Out gathering a few caches today before picking up the final for a multi, this was a quick solve back at home, so thought we would grab the final before heading to Puhinui Reserve.

A quick stroll from where we parked to the cache. Thanks for the puzzle! Smile

22-Jan-15
Was caching nearby and thought I would look at a puzzle I could solve! This one is clever, and the cache itself is special. I had not seen this type of hide until today, so thank you for puzzle and the hide. After I parked someone called out to see if I had a problem with the car, I shouted back, thanks all "ok" Those caring and friendly South Aucklanders Big Grin

30-Dec-14
Had solved this one on the presumption I was likely to be out this way this afternoon, and with a quick find nearby I was hoping for the same again here. Spotted what I needed to be searching as I got closer and before I got to GZ I had an inkling of where I might be looking based on something I'd seen online previously. On reflection I don't think I could have made it much easier for myself - great camo, TFTC

19-Dec-14
Plenty of traffic moving past the GZ. We parked. Couple of hundred metres away in the Gardens and walked back. Once their the eagle eye of Mrs W&K spotted the cache. With the log signed we prepared to re enter the traffic and he'd towards the airport.

30-Nov-14
Clever cache which we liked. I have to say that these sort of utilities make me nervous for searching around. Especially when covers and parts open and come off in your hands. You never know what you might touch. It could be alive.

28-Sep-14
Solved this one quickly on day of publication but it's taken me until now to find it. Something unusual spotted at GZ after looking in a couple of wrong places and sure enough, the nicely camo'd cache was in hand. Signed log and replaced. TFTPC! Big Grin

16-Aug-14
TFTC. Just about to give up as dangerous site with a geokid, and muggle city with all the cars. Very hard to find, although maybe a reflection on our amateur status lol.

I had this one solved on my last visit to Auckland but didn't manage to stop and get it as the road was too busy and we were going the wrong way to make an easy turnoff. This time when I arrived I made a point of stopping to collect this on the way from the airport. Walked straight to this one as I had recently seen another one like it. Good use of camo for this sort of area. Thanks.

09-Jul-14
I was early to collect my wife. This was a good find to do on the way. Tftc

06-Jun-14
Worked this out at home but had me baffolded here for a bit. Like others have said great camo. TFTC #5841

TFTC Very Happy clever hide

Mrs NZTraveller picked me up from airport after working in Fiji. She had solved puzzle while waiting for me to come through customs. Easy park and grab. Loved the camo. TFTC

Solved this one on the plane and was pleased to have time to find it. Spotted the excellent hide quickly enough - great camo!! TFTC

Before I started poking around, I did a visual inspection and spotted where the cache must be hidden. TFTC.

10-Mar-14
Having solved this puzzle a while ago, we decided that this would make a nice quick find to continue our daily streak for our GIO Licence Challenge.

After some searching, one team member came across the ingenious hide. log was quickly signed and replaced.

A favourite point from us.

Nice quick solve and out walking around the area today so stopped in to pick this cache up. Quite foggy at GZ which made it all the better for searching. Nice quick find. TFTPC.

19-Jan-14
Solved the puzzle awhile ago and we would like to say we do appreciate your efforts with the hides. Mr P would like to give you another favourite point from us.

09-Jan-14
Had this puzzle sorted very shortly after publication. Was passing by today, without my puzzle book, but remembered were GZ was. Parked up and spied the hide on approach for a super quick find. Cheers for the puzzle cache!

05-Jan-14
Quick find in plain view, although not what I was initially expecting. TFTC

25-Dec-13
13941... Bold hide... always brings a smile to our faces when we drive pass, nicely done, TFTC.

17-Dec-13
Nice one! Solved the puzzle from home before this work trip to AKL and made a detour on my way home from work to where I stay in Mangere Bridge. Had a smile on my face as I approached the cache as I have one of these sitting in my box of tricks waiting to be cunningly deployed somewhere in Nelson. This placement may just have given me an idea... TFTC, Biggles.

Quickly solved and just drove past GZ. Rush hour and traffic is crawling by. I'm not gonna reveal the location of this exposed cache to dozens of watchful muggles for the sake of a FTF. Someone will though. I saw another cachet grabbing the big brother is watching cache just down the road in full view of all the slow moving traffic. Not cool IMO.

27-Nov-13
Quickly solved and then off for the find. I don't think any insinuations of carelessness or revealing the cache location to passing motorists are fair at all. I was very careful to conceal the cache location with my body when I retrieved it and when I put it back. I was careful to disguise my actions at Big Brother also and no muggle would have noticed anything. Baseless accusations are not cool IMO. Anyway, enough of that. A nice easy puzzle and a neat hide. Container blends in nicely here. Not a lengthy search as I spotted it straight away and very stealthily made the grab. +1 fave and another FTF Smile TFTC!!! Big Grin

27-Nov-13
Solved quickly but held off leaving work straight-away because the motorway traffic looked pretty heavy. Left a bit later and used some back road knowledge to by-pass areas slowed to a crawl near work. Pulled up to find funkymunkyzone heading off and had a quick chat before heading over and making the find and clever find.

Thanks!
