Cache owner is either unwilling or unable to maintain the cache.

I am archiving the listing as it would seem to have been abandoned by the CO. Should the owner decide to maintain the cache in the near future (next 30 days), just contact a reviewer (by email and include GC number in Subject), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, they will be happy to unarchive it.

Yeah, it’s Mega Time, here in the area for The Surf Coast Event this coming weekend but I have a week off in the lead up and so there I a little to organise but mostly it caching.
Today MuggleWifeDoes and I have teamed up with gmj31891 and PamJ to ride the latter part of the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail starting at Curlewis and finishing at Queenscliff. Time however got the better of us and we needed to skip a few at the end to finish before dark, these we will need to return for on another day along with those in the earlier stages.
It was a glorious spring day on the Bellarine Peninsula and the ride was mostly downhill and slow due to the fact that we were stopping every 200 meters (on average) to search for geocaches.
We stopped for lunch at the lake and Drysdale Station, what a beautiful view, no time for a wander or the caches around the lake, we just enjoyed the serenity and shade of that big pine tree.
Thanks to the entire group for their work on the rail trail caches in the area, it is a definite attraction to bring seekers to the challenge.
The cache finds were shared by all with individual cache senses activated by the variety of hides, always changing, always slightly different.

Still there but could do with a dry out or a new log.

**Thanks for placing this cache ozbob**

After arriving at Anglesea on Tuesday, we set up camp and went caching with BernieH and Annie aka MuggleWife on Wednesday. We started half way through the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail series. The weather was kind, and we were pretty tired when we finished, bur it was a great day. Most of the caches were found without too much trouble although we did have a few DNFs.
This was one of the ones we found.

**Thanks for placing this cache ozbob**

### **MAINTENANCE REQUIRED?** ###
I notice from recent log entries that this cache would seem to be in need of owner intervention as there are one or more comments in regard to the state of the cache log. It leads one to the contention that the cache container is no longer weather proof. Therefore I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

A basic tenet of geocaching is that **the cache log needs to be signed to record a find,** see here: [Logging of All Physical Geocaches](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#logging). At the moment this would seem to be extremely difficult if not impossible to meet that requirement in regard to this cache.

Prompt attention by cache owners to any log that indicates anything could be amiss is greatly appreciated by all seekers. The guideline advises; ***"if you can't check/fix it straight away then Disable it till you can."*** see here: [Owner is responsible for visits to the physical location,](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance ) and here's how; [Temporarily Disable and Enable,](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235) also check out this Blog: [Helpful Tips To Keep In Mind As A Geocache Owner.](http://www.geocaching.com/blog/2015/03/you-hid-your-first-geocache-now-what/)

Please respond to this situation by **3rd September** to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time, please be sure to post a "Write Note" log (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

**And don't forget,** once you have addressed the issue, post both an "Owner Maintenance" log, see here; [Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and an "Enable Listing" log, see here; [Temporarily Disable and Enable](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) to get your cache up and running again.

Day 3 of our geoholiday in Victoria and today we are tackling the other half of this bike track, we started at G2Q Curlewis: End of the Line and finished at Queenscliff, we took our time riding the track taking in the sights, found the hides quite different to what we are use to back home and there are some really brilliant hides along here, the weather was great for us while we were here and each day was in the low 20s which made for great bike riding, a huge Thank you to all the COs that placed these caches for us to find. Another beaurtiful day for a walk along the Geelong to Queenscliff rail trail with Mrs. caughtatwork. We started a little late in the afternoon and we didn't finish until later than desired, so heading home we ended up with pizza for dinner. This was probably the longest section we have complete with a 6.6km round trip for the 14 or so caches we found today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks to everyone who has made this a memorable trail to come down and visit.

Catching up on logs from a week ago; and what a week it's been, travelling the Great Ocean Road. I absolutely love the safety of riding this trail and am thrilled to be back finishing the lower half of the trail after walking the top part last year. Although I enjoyed the overall variety of containers, the number of bisons hanging around on the lower part of series did drive me to distraction. I know such hides appeal to others and, regardless of my personal dislike for the hide, I am very grateful for the time taken by individuals to create this fantastic series. Thanks to you all. I hope I have correctly logged my 2 DNFs from the day on the correct caches and a K.B. should appear somewhere on the logs of the others.

Had a day off work, so a trip to the rail trail was in order. I can't believe I have only done maybe 25 along the whole trail. Had the perfect day, a very mild summers day with a cool breeze. Had a ball discovering all of the different caches. Plenty of variety in the hides, as well as cache containers. There wasn't a great deal of muggles on the trail , being a weekday. Thanks to all of the CO's for their efforts in this fantastic series. Can't wait to return for some more smilies !! TFTC Big Grin

After we'd checked our van in at the nearby c'van park it was time to do a few caches before heading to dinner.

Bogonghazy and I returned to finish the G2Q Trail this weekend, a year after having done the Geelong to Curlewis stretch. The temperatures were ideal for bike riding and caching, but there were times I found the oncoming strong winds quite tough, but I made it, even though I was slowing BH down. We only had 3 or 4 spits of light rain whilst we were on the trail on the Saturday, and nothing on the Sunday. The heavy rain saved itself for overnight We loved the huge variety of finds we found over the weekend, and the mammoth amount of effort all the hiders have put into this trail.

Another pretty quick find, thanks once again to ozbob.

Back down this way for the holidays and a chance to attempt another segment of the fantastic Geelong to Queenscliff Rail trail series. After completing most of the final segment of the series heading into Queenscliff earlier in the year I took off on the bike in the opposite direction this time and managed to squeeze in the section between Swan Bay Road and Curlewis golf course before failing light, failing battery on my GPS and failing patience of my wife won out and I headed back to the car. I will have to return during 2015 to attempt to finish off the section into Geelong. Apologies for the largely generic logs but my memory was failing me even as I got to the end of my caching day aside from listing a few of my absolute favourites to give points to. Thanks to all the CO’s who have created the series and maintain their caches along the trail. This part of the state is blessed with so many dedicated Geocachers hiding all manner of cache types and difficulties for us to find or struggle to find and the hides along this trail are no different.

day 4 cacihng in Australia! Today my goal was to find the last 2 cache types that I haven't found here - a webcam cache and an event cache - first cache of the day was a webcam cache and the last cache of the day was an event Smile
I also found a number of rail trail caches - some were easy, some not so easy! This trail would be awesome on a bike but I was on foot today!

I came down here with Robmc and BettyBoo to do this great series over 2 days. We were so lucky with the weather, the best 2 June days you could wish for.
Day 2 and we left one car at Queenscliff and the other here at Drysdale. We now had a downhill journey with a hint of a tailwind!
Lots of great hides, some easier, some very hard. Pleased to record no DNF's at all today and even found 3 hides from caches we revisited from yesterday
Thanks to all the hiders who not only put in the initial effort but have continued to maintain this great trail.
There were 2 busted trees but I chose the right one and we were on our way again.
Thanks ozbob

Spent two days on the G2Q Rail Trail with BettyBoo3747 and Feathertop.
We dragged the deadly treadlies out, and rode Geelong to Drysdale on the first day, and Drysdale to Queenscliff on the second.
For the middle of June, the weather was beautiful - mild, little wind, and sunny.
Thanks to all the hiders who have given their time to make this a great trail.
I picked the wrong busted tree, Feathertop picked the right one - bugger!
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6470. A two day adventure on the G2Q Trail with Robmc and Feathertop. Today is Day 2 and we start the ride at Drysdale heading towards Queenscliff. Quite a strong breeze but luckily it is with us and not against us. We seem to find the caches much more quickly today and the level tracks make the riding easy. Enjoyed the ride, admiring the changes in the scenery along the way. The paddocks are looking so lush at the moment.

Another tree another hide , with more to come.

Thanks ozbob
