First stop on our way from Ben Hall's Camp to Forbes.Cache was 12 m from our coords. Found, signed, returned.

Cache found in the last place we looked. This is not Mt Panorama.The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of OzGeoMuster MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Good find for International Geocaching Day. Access to the cache is not affected by any earthmoving works. Lovely area with lots of parrots and wildflowers. TFTC

More like a did not attempt. A lot of earth moving going on, the cache maybe affected. I got to 80 MTS and there was piles of earth possibly right on gz. Will need a Cache owner check.

Sydney to Adelaide Roadtrip
Day Three : Cowra to Balranad.

An interesting day weather wise, with rain in Cowra, and very heavy rain around West Wyalong to the point I was worried that the highway may close. Balranald didn’t get any rain at all.

A quick find before the next wave of rain came through. Currently very wet, silty, muddy here.

Day 4 of a 4 day road trip. Today was from Cobar back to Canberra. Mostly just a few widely spaced park and grabs to break up the journey. Cache easily found. TFTC.

So cool to pick up this old one. Of course came the wrong way first but soon sorted that. All good with cache. Last day of our trip.

We reckon that lots of fun has been had close to this cache. A quick find in a logical spot

Today we said farewell to Temora and moved on the short distance fo Grenfell. We picked up a few caches en route and arrived mid morning and set up in the donation camp at the Old Railway Station. A lovely setting with the restored station and a playground nearby. Only sharing it with one other! We then checked out the local area caching breaking it with lunch and a coffee at one of the local cafes. The scenery here with its rolling plains and hills is quite different to home. The storm clouds rolling in over the nearby mountains were spectacular.
As for the nearby silo art, amazing.
Thank you to the local cachers. A mixture of hides and a couple quite clever.

My GPS was about 16m out here, but the area of the hiding spot was obvious, so found the cache. There was much mud here today. Thanks, Spock1967!

Found using geosenses as gps signal poor possibly the tree cover. Got within 13m then looked around, the obvious was the obvious and the log was quickly signed. Cache in good condition. The kart track is a real credit to the locals. Tftc

This was a fairly quick find after expanding the search - not sure whether it was my phone, but I found the cache over 10m from where I first had gz. Another location where the wet spring has led to a lot of long grass and many grass seeds ️. Thanks for the hide.

After a night at weddin mountains national Park we were headed to Forbes and this was a quick stop along the way. Tftc

I decided to drive to Cootamundra for the long weekend to stay with my sister Ottercreek29. Plans were in for a quick drive to West Wyalong to look at the painted silo and do some caching on the way, so we got up early and J-quellan and The Ryan Girls picked us up and off we went. It was a nice drive and we parked the car and walked 150 metres only to find a little creek with water flowing so walked back to the car and drove around, we should have gone down this road as it was the entry to the go karts. We parked about 40 metres away and it didn't take long to find and we signed the log as team Flame Trees (Darzee Di, OtterCreek29, J-Quellan and the Ryan Girls) tftc Spock1967

As we headed towards Grenfell we noticed this cache mot far away. So we took a short detour and after cautiously making our way over tracks which might have been soft, we were able to park reasonably close. Then it was a short walk. When we did not locate the cache at the published coordinates, we widened the search area and soon found the cache in a logical hide but 14m north of the published coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Spock1967 for the cache.

Day 2 of our adventure as we make our way to the York Peninsular.
Visited trackables.

After a slow but successful banding weekend at Weddin Mountains (not many birds, but quite a few old retraps) it was time to head home via a few caches. The plan was to head a back way and pick up a few that were a bit out of the way, a couple I had missed on previous trips and then finish on a small power trail (Riverina Crops). Added a bit of time and distance to the trip to Albury but had plenty of time (and it was just plain hot there anyway).

First had to get fuel in Grenfell and so diverted up a stock route to this one. As I turned up Henry Lawson Way I realised that there was an event at the kat track -if needed access was not going to be a goer. However, diverted via the nearby rest stop and got to within 100m of GZ and decided to walk from there (otherwise too close to fence). At GZ coordinates were not playing and I walked around an open space for a while looking for something that wasn't there. Finally fully circled a site that I had inspected one side of and there was the cache nicely hidden. Signed and on my way.

Heading back form the QOGM event in Queensland we were zig zagging our way back.

We have to say that the facilities here at the go kart track are the best that we have ever seen. The infrastructure that has been put in is absolutely fantastic. It's easy to see why the want to hold the championships here.
It took a little while to find the correct entrance to this one but this was done I was able to drive quite close to gz and only needed a short walk wishing that there was something going on on the track. The bigger than expected cache was found right where the GPSr was pointing and the log book now contains our name.

Continuing our journey south we picked up a few caches on the way that have been published since our last visit and this was one of them.

With a day free I decided to go for a drive to Grenfell and clean it out. This didn’t end up happening as some caches I couldn’t find and some are missing (according to past logs). About ½ of the caches I found today are in need of some urgent TLC. The list of issues includes: cracked containers, waterlogged/full logbooks, missing parts of field puzzles, incorrect coordinates and completely missing containers. I did try my best to help CO’s with these problems as much as possible but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough supplies with me for all of them. I hope the CO’s will continue maintaining these great hides, to stay alive for others to find in the future. Today was a great day full of creative hides, great locations, fun hikes and lots of laughs. TB visit on all found caches today and on some of the smaller log books/sheets I signed as 13/9 JM. Even though I was upset with the state of some of the caches around, I still would like to say thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place the caches I found and the fun I had while finding them today. Sorry about the generic logs. Only the more interesting hides and DNF’s will get an extended logs due to the amount of caches I found today.

Returning from a visit to Weddin Mountains NP we were pleased to come across this cache, which was last found by a caching mate of ours and that was in July. Small world. No action on the track today so blissful silence reigned. TFTC Spock1967. Found 4/1/17 4:15 pm.

We struck camp and headed for our next adventure - Forbes! Along the way there were a couple caches that we just had to do and we were hoping that with this one we could drive with our van to the cache. Well with the muddy conditions we got to within 50 metres and then hoofed it. All the time there was an annoying buzzing sound from the track - don't see the what the pleasure in that is

This was another one of those times where you take the long trek to GZ collecting all manner of plant pests, find cache and sign log then turn around and see an easy dirt track to walk out! Thanks for the hide - now to pull all the prickles out of the joggers!

Decided we would be smart and not walk to the cache from the highway. Found a nice track that led where we wanted to go and soon found the cache. Thanks.

Luckily there was no one using the track so we could drive right to the cache without any eyes on us. Our coordinates were 11 metres away but there was not much choice of location for a larger cache, so it was soon found. TFTC

Managed to drive to within 40 metres of the cache and then made a quick find at GZ. Was able to watch a few, what looked liked very young kids, on the circuit doing their thing. Guess they were having fun as well.

Two day trip to Grenfell June 2014. With a few people warming up karts for action later on I walked down along the fence to get to this one. At about 15m off my GZ I had to check a few of the possible locations before I hit on the right one. Thanks.
