A quick find but the log is still unusable. Tipped out the water in the container it but still needs some maintenance.

Not sure if I loved or hated the guardian. It sure made me reach for the find a little slower than usual, that's for sure. Alas, the log is pulp! It's had it. Sorry about the bad news Barb. Cache contents aren't that flash either.

Scrambling scrambled scramble. But we found it. Log is a soggy mess. We kinda scrawled or name on the back. Tftc
After completing more of the monster series we decided to head over to the entertainment centre.

Hi Barb. The log book was mushy when I was there today. Needs replacing or drying out (and even that might not save it). Cheers
Well, there was a guardian that nearly made me run a mile....
After getting the guardian problem solved, looked at the cache. It was three quarters full of water, and EVERY thing inside was soaked. Log book is mushy. Did not have a replacement, but did my best to get this in better shape.
#7 in the D/T challenge for today. Found at 8.38am. TFTC

I poked around for a while, now unfazed by the mozzies
Me legs and arms were numb, after having been bitten so many times
I couldn't find the cache
It has been a couple of months since the last find, so there were no geotrails to give away any likely locations.
So I delved deeper into the scenery and a few logs later, uncovered an Araneae
Oh dear !!
The cache it is guarding was completely full of smelly water
I did manage to sign the sopping wet logbook, but a new one is needed.

A surprisingly quick find for us this afternoon. We found the cute container, signed the log and grabbed the TB to move along. Tftc Barb
Out on a school night hunting down the last few caches we need for the alphabet challenge. As we approached the entertainment centre we were suddenly stuck in traffic. Everyone was headed to the same place we were apparently. A parking sign telling us it would cost $15 to park had us darting up a side street to park near the train station where a herd of people were moving slowly. Wow who new cacheing was so popular . But alas we headed off one way and the herd went the other. It was here that the mozzies led the way. Overturning a few logs and rocks gave the mozzies enough time to build up their forces and guard the cache with force. Cache was spotted and I bailed out and left Matt to sign the log whilst I fled from the mozzies . TFTC
Was lucky enough to run into the C ache Owner and received some help with this one and another cache. It was great to have a catch-up, and sight a couple of trackables. Always good to see another cacher in the field.
Find #1363
After some vehicular problems, which looked like shutting down our caching for a few days (NOT!), we decided to hire a Substitute Geo-beast to keep things flowing!
Quick find on this cache. All the contents are wet & the log is getting mouldy Not much we could do today to help as we didn't have our usual caching paraphernalia with us in the rental car. Dried things as best as we could but not much better.
Signed & replaced as found.

Day 49 of my Brisbane trip.
Today is another work day on Mum's house, sort of. My second brother has come down today to cut stuff up for easier transport to dumps and metal merchants. After a bit of sweat, it's all done, and some caching may now commence. I've loaded up the GeoSchnauzers and mossie repellent. I'm allergic to it, but it's better than the flaming mossies ... We're off to Bondall to the swamp, er, wetlands. I've been reading the WWII official histories of the fighting in New Guinea. I wonder if it would have been easier if the swamps up there were called wetlands ...
G'day, Barb - me again, assiduously seeking caches. The GeoSchnauzers and I found this one easily, as it was in the open. I tried to camo it a bit, but I suspect it won't work too well - the camo will wash off again if it rains heavily. The repellent isn't working too well on the mossies - I think I'll end up sticking some of it up my nose if they keep attacking my nostrils. They're even upsetting the GeoSchnauzers.

Walked into the bush the hard way, with Azzzz leading the way. As he was leading Azzzz spotted it first ... right near what would have been the easy way in! Isn't that always the way? Lots of mozzies around, and the cache seems to be kind of in the open don't think anyone will be venturing in though! Specially not in this rain! TFTC!
We parked a little while away from this one, and went for the short walk to GZ through a bit of bush.
Of course we got to GZ and I quickly spotted the cache, and the easy way that we should've followed to get here!
Quickly found, and ran away to sign it without getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. They seriously are everywhere. We need to add some insect repellant to our kit...
Signed and replaced, but didn't have any time to try to camo it or hide it any better, I was afraid I would be running out of blood soon!
Trek back to the car, and on our way to the next cache!

After parking in the nearby car park we headed off to look for this one. Not too much chance of muggles here. It took a little longer than it might have but finally we had the container in hand and our name in the log book. After replacing as we found this we headed back to the car and on to the next one. A nice arvo saw the geogirlfriend and I out for a bike ride. With the promise of fresh air and potential ducks needless to say we both were excited! TFTC Recovered and returned.
Geo Wife and I were heading up to Sandgate today to have lunch with some relies so we left home early enough to grab a few caches on the way.
This area had a nice group of caches so it was our obvious choice!!!
Again we had no difficulty parking as the area was completely deserted.
After the short walk to GZ we looked around a bit using the GPS and then used our geo sense and found the cache soon after.
Araneae was safe in its hiding spot and looked cosy.

Headed out to find a few more caches, in an area we had started previously.
Jumped on the electric bike, to do the caches around the entertainment centre.
All caches were found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, barbbowman, for us and others to find.

I had forgotten how much fun can be had searching for the small plastic containers, thanks barbbowman, for enticing us back into the hunt!
I was in the area to check out a few other caches and saw this one on the map and remembered that I hadn't found it on the day we attended the event nearby so I decided to correct that.
I followed the trail over the hill and searched a few spots and then noticed a bit of colour a bit further away and decided to check that out and found that it was the cache showing through the cover.
i opened it up to find the contents are quite damp but the log book is dry.

Took the long, wrong, ridiculous route in.. Found a broom... That's not it, is it? Wandered around in circles.. Finally spotted the real thing. Took one of the two trackables and left the Dino that had been in my hand all day waiting for a cache big enough to leave it in
Pretty sure we knew what we were looking for, but no luck for Epoz and I here today
Parked near the dam and wandered over to the GZ, the cache was soon spotted. TNSL TFTC .

With a name like that, you can be sure I wasn't looking very hard for it - perhaps it's over here, in this tree, 12m away from GZ? Letting my companions do all the hard work, I simply averted my eyes and enjoyed the area instead. Lazy caching! TFTC, barbbowman. =^.^=
Found after the event and giving membsec hugs and well wishes. We enjoyed the walk in the park and took the direct up and over route to this one. Dr THR walked right past it and Mrs THR didn't make that mistake. TFTC Barbbowman
I was way too late for the event but parked nearby to go look for the cache. I followed my GPSr around for a while before returning to the obvious spot to find the cache.

Out this way for the "just one more" event this morning. I had planned to arrive nice and early and find a whole bunch of caches, but I nice sleep in seemed better.
I still arrived in time to grab a few before it all kicked off. Accompanied by GT54, fasted59, and bubba89 I boldly set off on foot to hunt.
The longer , but easier option to GZ was decided upon and it was not long before the group arrived. A quick look here and there and the little beastie was found. No where niear as scary as the real one I foudn later in the day.

Hmmm, spiders hey? Well they're no match for intrepid Sunshine Coast cachers like Wesso Family and NeverLostAu! We saw our new friend MissGeosie on the way out of the event's GZ and she really wanted to come but Mr Wesso was keen to do some bushbashing so we were carried along in a caching frenzy up and over the rugged terrain typical of many carparks in the Boondall area. We battled through thorny vines and spider webs thick as ropes, all the while little NeverLostAu was trying to beat Wesso to the cache. We were somewhat deflated to see another cacher at GZ with cache in hand leaving us in little doubt that we were not the first ones there since morning tea . It was however a memorable cache and good fun shared! Thanks barbbowman for a great day and another fine cache.
This was one of a group near the Just One More event that I hadn't done, so with perfect weather and a group of fellow cachers we set out to tick them off our lists. Thanks barbbowman.
A quick find on our way into an event. The toddler swapped some "treasure".
Thanks for the cache, not for the mozzies!

I wanted to find it while Ella was still out finding it because I wanted to help her, but we couldn't, because she wasn't out while we were finding the cache. Thank you for the cache.
Slipped away for a little quiet time whilst attending the event nearby. A quick find. Cache dry and in good condition. Thanks Barb
Today was the day for the event 'Just one more'. A very fitting farewell to team Membsec.
And there is a couple of caches nearby that I have not found, so I had better find just one more for the day.
IolantheK was kind enough to come for a walk with me, just in case I got lost.
Thanks for the cache

Find #1191 at 11:27 with MissGeosie and MissSuzie.
While attending the nearby event, MissGeosie tugged on my arm, "Come on, Dad, we need to go find a cache!" Her new friend (the junior member of NeverLostAu) was off to find a cache and she wanted in on the fun!
Alas, they were in and out as I was still trying to work out which cache they'd headed off for. So we found it ourselves. We initially overlooked it but I spied something and sent MissGeosie in for a closer look -- yup, that's the cache
We then returned to the event before setting forth for the other caches in the area.
Thanks for the cache, barb bowman. I'm not a fan of araneae, by the way.

Knowing I was coming to an event in the area today I planned a bike ride to collect a few further afield local cache. As I was preparing the bikes for LadySim and I, I noticed I had not replaced the flat tyre from the last time I used it…oops! So a change of plans and I decided we could walk to a few I was looking for and try for seven different cache types in one day! Talk about turning adversity into a positive outcome! I wonder how many of these seven cache types will belong to BarbBowman!
Not one of the 'Big Seven' fir today - but I nice little one that had us guessing. We were looking higher-up given the cache name - and soon realised we were over thinking it!

Mr JimmyProject and I were out doing a few caches in the area while attending an Event to see off Team Membsec.
Of course we made the Terrain "2" cache a Terrain "3" by approaching from the wrong direction - but we got there in the end. We searched for a bit. I knew the guardian of this one had gone for a walk back to the Event as it had come off - but the cache was still there.
I soon spotted something and it was the cache.. in good condition. TFTC barbbowman

I was hoping to do a little tour of all the cache in this area, but this was the second and last in here , I had to many plans for other spots.
So I parked and used the local facilities, while I waited for the tour bus to move along, and then made my way towards GZ. I probably took the most difficult way possible, however I got there in the end, without disturbing to many of the local residents.
I arrived at GZ and it took me a minute to get at it, without crashing through the trees and vines to much. But got there I did, the cache's mascot is no longer attached, but still there none the less.

After work this evening, I felt like a break, so I drove down to the station and took a short walk to this cache. All was good until I literally hit a wall of mozzies with about 50 metres to go. Better make this quick before they drain me. The cache was quickly found - all the while I was dancing around like an idiot trying to keep the bloodsuckers away. The cache guardian has parted from the lid, but is still there.

Found with Nyssaflutterby and membsec. We were running out of daylight and thought we might get locked in the car park but we all wanted "just one more" cache. We parked the car and dashed over to GZ. A quick look and we had the container in our hands. We signed the logbook and Nyssaflutterby ran back to the car as I put the container away as found. Thanks for the cache barbbowman.
We were on a mission today with Nyssaflutterby and Net88. We needed to do a series to fill in our D/T chart down the coast. On our way home, a bit late, we decided to do just one more......yep, just one more cache. Well it was getting onto dusk and we didn't know whether to drive in or not but we did. The road we wanted to take was blocked so we went on a little further and parked the car. Up and over the hill and we followed the arrow. Ok, should be here, nope not there, but Nyssa rechecked the area and found the well hidden cache.
Nyssa raced back to the car after she signed to check on the car, and after Net and I signed we quickly followed. Everything was ok, we didn't get locked in.
Thanks for the, 'just one more' cache.

One of my many GEO Goals this year was to close the year with no active unfound caches on the northside of Brisbane Council area. From The Brisbane River to the Pine River and the M5 to the coast. I am almost done. This little green box popped up on my almost empty map recently, so here I am out and about this last day of the year 2013, ready to rectify the situation.
