Sorry for the delay.
I honestly thought I'd archived it in June to free up the area which is well deserving of a cache.

stopped by today while in the area and was not able to find it despite having found it previously...
GZ has not improved much from what jgbeau's photo from January shows and I suspect it is long gone

I enjoyed solving the puzzle and think I was in the right place. A careful search couldn't find the cache, was it washed away last night after the heavy rain flood the stream? See photo.
We are in Palmerston North for a few days as support crew for our daughter and son-in-law who are walking the Te Araroa Trail. After walking the Tongariro Crossing with them a few days ago we are now taking some caching time to find as many of our solved Manawatu puzzles as possible, along with just a few other cache types.
There have been a few of these 'binary' puzzles published in Auckland recently (including a couple by ourselves) so we were keen to solve this one. Soon had it sussed and added to the Solved list. Today we enjoyed exploring this part of the park, and finding the cache. Thankfully one of us spotted it after only a short search. Thanks for the fun puzzle.

Worked this puzzle cache out a while ago but every visit I had been about 3 or 4 I had no luck then I saw i had been replaced so gave it another go. still no luck so asked a fellow geocacher where she had placed it and yes it had gone again, so it had been replaced again and signed finally. It is a lovely park area or taking a short walk and many people walking there dogs not easy to look for a cache when many muggles coming and going. Muggles do look at ya real strange, but as a geocacher I am used to that. Thank you for placing a cache here. TFTC
Down to the last puzzles in the palmy area trying to keep my streak alive. This one has been solved for a while now and I made an initial exploration of the final location but determined that it would have to wait until the area had dried out a bit.
I see Sunju was determined to get this and couldn't wait until the mud pit had subsided a bit. She got down and dirty and couldn't find it and after confirmation by the CO replaced it. Well if she can get dirty, then I can too, so clothed in old clothes, wet weather gear and gumboots and made my way back to the mud pit. Not the best day to try as it's been rainy off and on all day. Cache was quickly in muddy hand. Stripped off muddy clothing before being spotted by muggles and headed back to the car.
TFTC and to sunju for replacement.

Having had a good look followed by another thorough get down and get dirty look I clarified the hide with the CO who confirmed where it should be. I agreed to go have another good look before replacing for him. Hubby came along after finishing work and another very thorough search was completed and a replacement cache was installed. A great puzzle - too good to let go. TFTC
I have had this solved for a while now and gave a hint to some fellow cachers. They had been to the location and reported it being very muddy and could not find the cache. I had decided to hold off until it had a chance to dry up. The location seemed muggle free today when I passed on my way home mid afternoon so I decided today was the day. I had a very thorough search, got filthy and still found nothing. Bugga.
Visited today with Richardsons while on a joint family outing to try out our new sled.
It took a while to locate it as its position and method has changed since I found it and no one else found it either. I finally made the re-find, but not before cackling about Mr Richardsons' hunting method [photo attached]

Find #300 trying to find puzzles I solved a while ago. Have been to this park before but never to this corner.
Managed to get this cache back out between pedestrians so it's now all good to go again.
I was in the area getting some fresh air on this beautiful afternoon and decided to check on this cache. Turns out it's missing so I will endeavour to rectify this next weekend.
Like others have said, this one took more than one visit to find… Yesterday I was muggled by another dog walker and so today I enlisted my youngest to keep a lookout while I got down on my knees for a closer look! Found it!!
Thanks for the cache tommygun9 - wish I could have made it to the event earlier in the week but I had to work. Log in good condition - signed and returned.

Found, thanks to the help of tommygunn A bit wet on the grass, when I was leaning down, but I nevertheless found the cache TFTC nice puzzle too Great to see everyone at the event before hand too
Nearly a DNF, but got there with a little help. Thanks for a damp, but enjoyable day out.
I had looked straight at it earlier, without even seeing it. Tftc.

Yes! A chance for a closer inspection today, and there it was! Replaced as found, tucked in snug. Tftc and puzzle.
How did I miss this the first time??? But today there was a bonus...... Blackberries.. I could gather Blackberries. (. and a few scratches) to make a black berry and apple pie!!!! I could see how high the the little stream had been earlier when we had the down pour..... even tho a good week ago...
Thanks for this cache..
Thanks for this cache..
Had a eurika moment in the middle of the night and solved the puzzle pretty quickly. Brisk walk to location today but alas after long search, no luck. Hope all is well with cache. Will save for another day.
Off to Palmy today for a little geocaching mission. This was my first stop on the way in and I had a pleasant walk to the final. No wind around compared to the last few days. I had solved this puzzle shortly after it had been published and this was the first opportunity I had to grab it. Initially, I was reading a hint associated to another one of the CO's puzzles which hindered my search efforts. After rectifying that issue, I made a quick find of the cache. Signed the log and replaced as I found it. Thanks for the cache and the smiley.
#5844. Interesting puzzle. A couple of dog walkers in the rain today, but otherwise all was quiet. Found cache on ground, replaced back in its hiding spot. TNLNSL. TFTC.
The puzzle was fairly straightforward despite an interesting twist, the coordinates were spot on, we had the hint with us, albeit slightly abbreviated, and the cache was hidden exactly where we expected, but for some reason it took us ages to find this cache. It was an enjoyable walk to the cache with our granddaughters, who did an analysis of the interesting objects in the stream each time we crossed a bridge. These included a pencil, die, and old cans. TFTC
I worked this one out a while back and today I was in Palmy to collect the smilie BUT I had left my geo-brain at home and I had forgotten the message in the code so yip, you guessed it, I really struggled to find the cache.
It also didn't help that at two separate times in the search I was interrupted by muggles walking their dogs - grrrrr. I couldn't drive home to grab my geo-brain so I stuck with it and finally in the end I spotted the cache.
I made this cache find waaay harder than it should've been but that's what you get for forgetting your geo-brain.

Took ages for the penny to drop on this one. Looked at it numerous times & got no where, & then decided to have another look & knew instantly what it was about. Now I'm wondering how it wasn't obvious in the first place - isn't that always the way!
Nice little stroll to GZ, & no muggles about on a weekday.
Left a pet rock - a rabbit. TFTC

Up for a caching expedition in the Manuwatu. Was given some assistance when solving this puzzle and relatively quick find on arrival at GZ. TFTC tommygun9
Had to blink quite rapidly to read the code but We soon had Samuel's Ones and Zeros sorted.

Took me a little while to solve this puzzle and it shouldn't have. I should have read the cache page more carefully. Had fun solving this puzzle though - love it when you get the right co-ords in the end. Was in the area today to be able to pick up the final cache. TFTPC
Didn't take long to solve.
Enjoyed a nice walk to the cache with the family, capturing several munzees along the way.
A quick find at the final location.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I don't normally find caches hidden in this manner, I leave it for StreetWalker to do the finding, but he was being a bit slow as was looking for ripe blackberries in the area. Not good pickings at all.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

#7987. We'd been here at least once before in search of caches. A longer walk on this visit, rewarded by a few blackberries in addition to the cache. TFTC.
Took a while to decrypt but then found it pretty easily once in the right place. TFTC
[green] When I was working on my streak, October last year, there were no caches I had not found nearby. I had to cycle up to 120km a day to find a cache and get back home. Now there are new caches everywhere! Sweet! Dot days, here I come!
And today is a dot day. I had solved this long ago, and made a note about this cache making use of Shannon's theorem, and solving the cache from that, totally missing the big clue (which would have been slightly easier). So today I shot out to find it, also an easy task.
Just for the heck of it I decided to work out what the description would be like if Shannon's had not been employed here - as it is there are a total of 473 ones and zeros. Without Shannon it would take 840 ones and zeros to make the same message. Which is EXACTLY why this code exists!
Lastly - some cool seats nearby. See attached photo. Dropped off a TB.

Solved this one shortly after it had been published but hadn't got around to heading up the road to claim the cache until today (a few FTC Munzees in the same area were an extra incentive...) Didn't take too long to find at GZ once a muggle and dog had passed by. TFTC.
Was hoping to solve a few of the puzzle in Palmerston North as I will be here over Christmas, and this cache was solved with a bit of a nudge from a previous finder. Thanks for the puzzle, and the hide.
Got this after a bit if problem solving. Been to this place a bit but didn't realise this track was here. TFTC!
I solved this puzzle an hour or three after it was published and, with no logs at that time to the contrary, raced off in the slim hope of claiming a 3 hour old FTF.
I really should have known better as, on arrival, I met the extended StarDust family returning from GZ with a 3TF...
we had a good chat and then we went out separate ways with me deciding to save it for a dot-day.
Today was that day.
I have been to this park a number of times (mainly to discover TBs at the nearby cache) but never been does this branch of the path.
Was good to explore around this area and enjoy the scenery, even if I was buzzed by swallows, cessnas and dragonflies while hunting for the container...
T4TC, and another type of puzzle that I hadn't come across before. The hint helped to decode it

I was coming over this way caching today, so when I saw this one published last night I spent some time solving it.
Thanks for the cache tommygun9

I was wondering when I would see a encryption algoritm that made use of Shannon's Theory. And as soon as I realised this one did I had the key, and the solution shortly after. Now waiting for a day with a zero in it. Hmm... Might be January...

A nice puzzle that had us puzzled for a short while until we stumbled across the solution. Nice to see they have extended the walkways in this area. It was baby stardusts first cache find, a shame we didn't make it a ftf for him also. Thanks for the cache and an interesting puzzle.
I was back in Palmy for one night and it just happened to be the right night to cop a FTF on this bad boy. Always love coming to this spot, a nice evening walk. TFTC
Saw this pop up and figured it out pretty fast but then had guests at the whare so had to postpone going to the cache. Got 2TF, TFTC great spot
