Took us a while to find the entrance for the track. Yeh now for an interesting walk, awesome track. Found the cache and happy to sign log. Thanks for the cache Katie w.
A very wet and chilly day to be out geocaching. We made our way to GZ and were rewarded with a cachy Christmas present. Thanks for putting this here. I left an alphabet stone - the letter Z
In Dunedin for GeoToroa with rattll and watcache. First target for the day was GCAF Mt Cargill for rattll, which we found in the cold and wet having not perished of pneumonia along the way in the rough weather. A couple of DNFs on the way back, then stopped off here. The path was narrow, and the Leith was in flood, so we carefully negotiated the track, but a quick find at GZ. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
I had just set up camp in Dunedin ready to attend the Mega Event this coming weekend so I looked around to set what caches I could find nearby.Had to laugh when I got to this cache. Thanks for placing it katie_w
I really liked this cache! Entrance was a bit sneaky but the small walk was very enjoyable, cool creek view on the way! TFTC!
Found on my way home. Missed the south entrance to the track even though I parked very close to it. Found the north entrance almost accidentally as it is pretty well camouflaged. Both ends were a bit overgrown, but most of the track was in good condition. Fun find, well hidden, slightly damp, but in good order. TFTC
Good hiding spot. Difficult to get access. A bit bushy as well. Mind your step. Tftc
Visiting from Wellington for a son's graduation. Out for an evening caching walk. Liked the sound of this cache so decided to walk up the road. Really cute old hotel at the start of the walk by the bridge. Plus an interesting read about the paper mill that used to be situated part way up the road. Finally made it to the path which was a trek through a lot of wet overhanging foliage. Finally got to gz and the hide was very cute. FP awarded for the adventure walk and great hiding spot. TFTC
In the area getting some caches for a challenge. What a nice walk. Worth a favorite point.
Out for a walk today and stumbled across this - pure chance! Got quite excited as I had no recollection of ever finding one in this spot. Had a wee look back in the log book - sure enough.. 31.12.2014 I'd signed it! So sadly I haven't earned a smiley face, but thought I'd let you know it's still safe and sound in there!
November is a busy month in most people's lives, second only to December I suspect. Teachers are very busy at this time as we begin assessing and writing school reports.
This probably explains why we have so many dot days in November and December! So the mission this year is to beat the COVID blues and the report writing mania by taking time out to fill dot days in the evenings.
School closed yesterday so I have just started my Christmas break. This seemed a fitting cache to find today. Beautiful track but very wet today. Easy find.

Collecting caches at night for a few challenges. Tricky not to fall in the river but got ok.
Ooh I had big ambitions of finding this cache, I can't resist Xmas caches. Thought it better to park the wagon in the side street opposite the entrance and wandered over to walk the cache down along a goodly track. They must have been doing some work on it lately as rough patches have been cleared back, I could have filled the boot with cord wood. Ambitions, yeah did I mention those; here I was thinking the hint place would be something piney but to my surprise *(a noice surprise)* it was something more voluminous and practical to hide a big cache in. A dark hide held your cache well hidden under the rocks and while I missed out on some Xmassy swag, I popped some into the empty swag bag. A dry logbook in it's own baggy was dry and ok. Returned cache to the spot and took a quicker route back to the park. Thanks for the cache Katie, have a fav courtesy of my luvly sponsor for the fun and a well maintained cache. **TSOD** 5pt
We rode past this little track entrance, got to the bridge, scratched our heads then widened the search!! Back we went. Sure enough there was the cutest little path... With the great little cache in the great little spot. Earns a fave from us. Cache is all good. TFTC
Another path I had no idea was here. Thought it might be a park and grab but found it wasn't exactly. Found the way in to the path and then back I went to find the hint item. Glad I brought my torch with me, as it made it much easier to spot. This find completed my last Solar System Wonder of the World. TFTC.
.Its still dark so we come to visit the Christmas Pressy while waiting for dawn to glow on us. Thankfully this was an easy find at GZ as we are caching by headlamps. Cheers
Its Saturday 27 April and our last morning in Dunedin. Its the Rambler Series and the Virtual in the harbour, in our sights today. Then its homeward bound with the team stopping near Christchurch for the night to snag some Lab Caches.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Heading off to the rambler's Challenge today, and it is long before dawn, so just mucking about for a bit before we head over there. This is a nice little stream side track, and from 15 m away I thought - there it is! I didn;t even realise we were that close - I hadn't checked off the distance on the GPS since we stepped onto the track!
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Quick find. Wouldn’t have known about this walkway, so thanks for that and for the cache.
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island finding a few targeted caches and a few that just happen to be near to where we are passing. That is the case with this one, I love Christmas so the title of this one appealed to me so I suggested to gk that we stop and get it. We had been up to Mount Cargill to get the old cache up there and this was on our way to our next destination.
Once we stopped the van I realised it was not a quick park and grab on the side of the road so I told gk not to worry about it and that we would carry on. Next thing he is heading down over the bank and he calls out that there is a track down there.
He made a quick find and once he signed the log he returned it as he had found it.
Thanks you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Found on our return road trip from Papamoa to Dunedin. No problem with the find. Merry Christmas and TFTC.
Perfect opportunity I was super organised (er panicked) this morning and so had a little time on my hands. A pleasant stroll despite not being prepared. Happy Christmas and TFTC # 242
Lovely afternoon for a caching outing. This one has been on my to do list for a very long time! Quick find after a short stroll. TFTC
What a lovely walkway! I’ve drive along here for years and never known this existed.
Oh dear, looks like I stole the pen from this one by mistake. I'll come back when I next can and return it.
EDIT: PEN=RETURNED

Auf unser Rundreise durch Neuseeland wurden wir auch an diesen Schönen Ort geführt und konnten die Dose finden.
Thanks for this hide at this place
Greet from both hamburgers.

In the area on 28th filling in a dot day and thought it was odd I didn't have the smiley as I was positive had got this for another dot day this month.... took the stroll down and didn't need to consult gps as went straight to it and yes last name in the log is mine. All in good condition and sorry for the late log.
This is the one I was most worried about, as its very close to water. But the tree is still standing proud on top of the bank, and the cache is good. Dropped off TB.
Spotted fairly quickly but extracting it was another matter. Might have a black nail in a few days. All worth it though. TFTC
A well-hidden cache on a hitherto unexplored path! It certainly felt like Christmas when the find was made, as this meant no more dot days for Rex Familia!!! Cheers katie!
We have been thinking about tackling the caches down Leith Valley for a while and today was the day.
Nice to find this little path that we never knew was there.

Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long! TFTC!
A wee bit of a walk through get this one today. With the rain we have had the last week the creek was more of a river and was quite high. Would have hated to fall in. The cache once found was in good condition and completely dry. So TFTC and the walk nice walk.
Nice find today with Just-Lookin.
On a trip around the area hunting for a few caches.
Another wet and windy day unfortunately!
Fun drive, quickly located and log signed.

We drove passed the bridge and walked back to gz, luckily I spotted the slip of a track that lead down to the stream. I soon spotted a suitable tree and had the cache in hand. I left a Geocoin in the cache for the next person to find. Tftc.
I was camped at the bottom of the Leith valley and so today was the day to pick up a few more.
A nice little walk beside the stream.
Cheers for the cache.

We followed the path along the stream & found the cache easily. Great spot for a cache! TFTC.
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
We decided to try and get a few around Dunedin head north up the Leith and Waitati valleys and back into town over Mt Cargill. We stopped in Waitati for a great lunch. The weather played nicely too. We stuck around town to grab the ones in town before it got too busy. Quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Once down the bank, the cache was quickly to hand. Thanks.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Quick find and sign along the way as we cached around a few valleys. CHeers.

A bit of a scramble down to this one. Looks like there are easier ways to get there though. TFTC
Should of been doing house work but too nice a day so off caching with 2 friends. First one for the morning.
Granville86a quickly found this one looking for an early christmas present, logged find with Guwapo and Granville86a, lovely little river side garden/track, TFTC, discovered TB
Found with Chosen1978 Guwapo and Papa. A quick scramble down to GZ and the cache was soon found.
Guwapo and Papa out and about with Uncle Granville and Chosen. No problem for Granville to find. Salamat!
Had biked pass this path several times and wondered what it was about. Nice grouping of presents.
Glad to get a cache today in a less muggly area! Fantastic tree, CJ- Curry was hoping for a pinetree I think :p thanks!
I liked this hide! I was half-expecting a different kind of environment, given the cache name, but once I laid eyes on GZ I knew that that was it. I also loved the little walk - albeit loud, as the river was flowing quite freely nearby! - though Hevic and I tackled it from the north rather than the south, which probably admittedly made things a bit trickier. Cheers!
Wandering along the road looking for an obvious type of tree and when I couldn't see one decided to read the previous logs. Track! - what track? Find a way through and of course there is a neat track meandering through here - how lovely. Soon spy some obvious signs and then follow the track back right to where I was parked!!!!! TFTC #6824
I really thought this one would be gone in the floods-but the rising waters did not go above the banks. All good after the recent deluge.
Almost walked straight past the start of the path, didn't even know it existed. Thanks
Third from 4 attempted on my electric bike test ride. Can't wait to get my own and get at all those caches that are just too far away to walk to and/or there is no bus service nearby.
Found track entry from waypoint and sauntered along enjoying the peace and tranquillity. We really do owe a huge debt of thanks to those who maintain such beautiful spots.
Easy find once I got to GZ. As the hint says, where else would you expect to find a pressie, except that this was a little more literal than I expected .
