I had just set up camp in Dunedin ready to attend the Mega Event this coming weekend so I looked around to set what caches I could find nearby.I didn't have to grope - the sun hadn't yet set at 5:07pm. Thanks for the placement katie_w
It took some time to understand the hint, but we got it. Put a construction block in the container. Nice neighborhood. Thanks for the cache!
In the city getting some caches for a challenge. I could have made it easier on myself if i read the hint. Thanks
with annielin and dsi. nice to be exploring the area that i've not been in before. tftc
not too scary as i thought it might be!

Easy find today, thanks for making us stop

We have arrived in Dunedin and camping close by for event tonight. Came for a nosey up here and stopped for this cache. Great title and weird going in but all good when I saw cache. Thanks for this cache katie w.
Cache 1058 Day 3 of my “hidden dates” cache holiday search around Dunedin. Today I’m exploring by myself taking my time heading up towards sea cliff to knock quite a few off the list on the way as well as grabbing some extras. Frosty start to the morning again but that still won’t deter my hunt for the Plastic. Quick easy find but stepping in between was a bit chilly with frosty tips, cache in good condition T4TC
Thanks katie w for the cache. I did note some doggy dos the first place I carefully looked even though it was supposed to be just stick your hand in. Thought maybe I need to get closer to the fence. And yah no more dos.
Quick find after that and another cache with the not chosen size feature I need for a challenge . So pleased to grab this today.

Very achievable at night as it turns out. Not too many muggles about, cache is in good nick.

Took advantage of the roadside parking to slam to a stop at the GZ, Stop the truck- the cache is here lol. Dew still hanging of the items and I knew it wouldn't be on the lawn lol so someone needed to get dripped on. Waited for eyes to adjust and low and behold the wery green cache was lying on the ground open and scattered. The RITR logslip was still in it's baggy and dry enough to sign log. Took nothing, left nothing and returned cache intact as the cache owner would have it to stop it rolling around in the hide. Reached our turn around place rediscovering the Leith Valley. Thanks for the cache Katie. **TSOD** 5pt
Uh oh, nearly got accused of making a naughty mess. Owner of said property popped out to confront us to see what we were up to and because he thought it was our dog that had peed copiously on the corner of his tree. We assured him we didn't have a dog, agreed with him about the manners of some dogs and all was well again. Cache is all good, though it had to be less carefully than usual, placed back in position in case the owner turned around... TFTC
i think i know the spot after scoping it out, but too many people about today to do the proper looking required lol, will come back soon
A very appropriate title. I see the vegetation has been trimmed for easier access. Thanks for that, and for the cache.
.And groping in the dark we were, as its 7am on a cloudy day. Im on hands and knees groping aground. Thankfully not much traffic around this morning. Finally found the right location with the hint to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers
Its Saturday 27 April and our last morning in Dunedin. Its the Rambler Series and the Virtual in the harbour, in our sights today. Then its homeward bound with the team stopping near Christchurch for the night to snag some Lab Caches.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Not really a grope in the dark, more like the early dawn, although I did use my torch at one point. Filling in time waiting for the day to go and hit the Rambler's challenge.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

#6040. I had a workshop in Dunedin on Thursday and Friday. Decided to take the opportunity to stay on for the weekend and do some geocaching in the southern city. Rented a car and today I did a few caches up around Flagstaff. Afterwards I headed into suburbia to grab a few more before sunset. Parked across the road and soon saw where I was heading. A nice secluded alcove. Had the cache in hand within seconds. Picked up a trackable to take back to Wellington. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks katie w for hiding it here.
In the area after a group geocaching outing so just had to find this before heading home. A bit of groping then bingo...there's the cache. Very prickly!!! TFTC
My first thought seeing the location was "oh hell no" but once I decided to get dirty I soon had it in hand. Tftc!
A quick grope on the way home from the weekly shop...found just as the drizzle became more persistent, which was really the only hindrance here...TFTC, katie!
We have been thinking about tackling the caches down Leith Valley for a while and today was the day.
It took longer getting in and out of the car than it took to get this one.

Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long! TFTC!
Despite the ominous-sounding title of this cache, the only ominous thing that happened was that a few drops of rain started to fall. I managed to find the cache in the open, but returned it after signing a little further under, hopefully to stop it getting dislodged any further.
A quick park for this one. A very wet day and I'm starting to hate having to go near trees and bushes with the heavy rain we have had over the last week. But an easy find so no worries at all. TFTC
Fairly wet so didn't give this one much of a search and unfortunately no luck for us here today.
We were on a bit of a mission today so didn't spend more than a few minutes searching for any one cache with the heavy rain - probably still there but we missed it.
We pulled up beside some interesting vegetation and realised this most be gz, not the the long grass on the other side of the road where the gps was pointing. A quick find and no groping required. Tftc.
I was camped at the bottom of the Leith valley and so today was the day to pick up a few more.
Got a few dead leaves over me when I retrieved this one.
Cheers for the cache.

No groping required today, ducked down & the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC.
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
We decided to try and get a few around Dunedin head north up the Leith and Waitati valleys and back into town over Mt Cargill. We stopped in Waitati for a great lunch. The weather played nicely too. We stuck around town to grab the ones in town before it got too busy. Quick find. Took some funny photos.
Thanks for the cache.

A fun place to hide a cache. A talking point for he trip!!
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
ha ha ha TW posed for some rather dodgy but funny photos here.....quick find and sign along the way whilst caching up and around a few of the valleys. No one around. Cheers.

No groping necessary today, quickly discovered and log signed with Guwapo and Granville86a TFTC
Found with Chosen1978 Guwapo and Papa. Easy find for Chosen and Guwapo. No need for groping today.
Guwapo and Papa out and about with Uncle Granville and Chosen. No problem for Guwapo to find. Salamat!
No groping necessary. Very well tended garden on both sides of the fence. TFTC #6823
Hehe after years of living in the area, saw the clue and knew exactly where it was
Reading some of the previous logs, I am reminded of what Onslow Fisherman once said to me: "You can't claim that you have been caching if you don't have dirty knees. I am glad that I changed into my tramping/caching jeans for this find and that the ground was dry.
This was part of my electric bike test ride -- what a difference it made (and will make once I get my own).

It was down on my knees as I searched for this hidden cache. Found it alright and I sure was pleased that the ground was dry.
A bit nervous about this one; the title does make one wonder what you're about to encounter! But all went well, and nobody passed at that time of day to wonder why somebody in hi-vis was groping in that particular place.
