Amazing walk! Such a pretty spot.

Absolutely beautiful day if not a little warm, cloudless and windless. This really is a beautiful walk despite several fallen trees. Continuing further up the trail now. Great cache in perfect condition. Dropped a tb. Thanks rehikemike Smile

OMG!!! Loved it! What a great walk!!! We had no idea this was here! Absolutely brilliant! Favourite point from me; and the dogs as they seem to enjoy jumping over and crawling under the fallen trees.
We’ll keep walking a bit further! Thanks so much for this surprise!

This was my target cache a few days ago while out exploring the backstreets of huonville.
Slowly the road twisted on into the bush and the path grew a little more wild.
The occasional parkour enroute soon had me within cooee of gz where i applied some geosense and not long later had found the larger sized cache.
Always nice to come across the original logbook and cache.
Thanks rehikemike for taking me here with a geocache!!

We had walked into Pelverata Falls today and after that decided to collect a couple of caches in Huonville and Ranelagh. This was an interesting walk. As previously mentioned, nearly the whole forest had fallen over, and so it was more clambering than walking. But anyway we made it and got the cache. Thanks for the adventure. TFTC

After picking up a puzzle cache down the road we continued on to this one. There are some caches that bring a smile to your face, some can give you a giggle and other like this one have you in stitches of laughter. We had to give a favourite point for the amount of fun we had.

I started reading old logs as we started and there was mention of a few fallen trees. What there was no mention of was that a whole forest had decided to lay down for a sleep on the trail. We went over some, crawled under others all the while laughing about the next thing to deal with. I don’t think show horses have to jump over this many obstacles.

After we had hurdled so many trees we weren’t just going to walk away without a find but it was looking like it. A quick read of some more logs and we knew there was a discrepancy with the coords and finally my wife found a nugget of gold in one log which put us onto the cache that I had stepped over twice.

Now we could go back down the trail finding new and interesting ways to handle the logs. tftc

Found this one today to keep our string of finds running as per previous comments the GZ is around 6 to 13 metres off. Start looking where there is a track detour. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.

Mr W today decided to walk up to the top of Mt Herringback and then decided to drive into Huonville afterwards to collect this cache. Nice to get another smiley in the area. A great day for a couple of walks. TFTC

28-Mar-19
Found with stairman1. This one took our interest so we headed up. The track is pretty easy to navigate. We had to climb over a few trees. The cache is well stocked. TFTC

Found with goldielover this afternoon. Nice little walk up here maybe a cache further up with the views could be arranged. As noticed the coordinates are out a bit. The ones working for us today. S43 01.196. E147 05.338
Nice cache. All good here

Have been looking at this one for a while, warm fine winter day so though I’d have a go. Eventually found it about 11 meters off G Z. TFTC

11-Nov-17
Tried to find on a afternoon out geocaching but before we got to GZ we had to turn back as further down the track the grass was becoming quite overgrown and as it was a very hot day we decided not to risk it in case there were snakes, the scenery however was very beautiful

01-Aug-17
A pleasant but dimly lit stroll up the track with a couple of overs and one under.
As others have said, it needed caching instinct rather than faith in the GPSr to discover the hide.
Thanks

Hello rehikemike thank you for the cache.

I have meaning to find this cache for three years now but by the time I notice it pop up on the GPS I'm too far out of town and can't be bothered going back.
Today after finding a new trig point I did turn around and drove to the parking spot and made the trip up the track. The first part was easy going but then there was more and more trees across the track as they were slippery they needed some care in climbing over them.
At GZ I spent a bit of time trying to find the cache as others have had and with no hint I was about to give up when I looked in the large stump on the track 13m from GZ and there it was.

As everyone who has logged this cache has mentioned they have had troubles finding it I would suggest you add a hint or update the cords.

Found at 1:07:00 PM

Great little walking track it's a shame that it is not maintained.
A fairly quick find with four of us searching for the cache. After the find we continue up to the waterfall and to the end of the track.
Thanks for the cache and showing us this area.

Firstly the owner of the property near the gate asked if I was dumping rubbish. Then, once I arrived at GZ, I spent way too much time looking in the wrong spot. As I was heading back down, I thought I just check here before I left, and behold, there is the cache.

TNLN, thanks for the cache!

29-Feb-16
Finally found time to do the walk to find this cache. A pleasant walk, a few tees on the track but nothing too difficult to navigate, the hard part was finding the cache as no one had visited the cache for a very long time I feared that it was lost. GZ according to my phone and my GPS did not bring me any joy. I then looked 10 metres downhill at a logical place and found the large tin container which contained many goodies and a travel bug(Around the World). I took the travel bug with me as it had been in the cache way too long and will place it in another cache in the near future.
TFTC rehikemike.

Found after being called to work nearby - took the opportunity, but a drizzly day is probably not the best time to be walking along a trail with lots of slippery branches, and moist fallen trees. Found easily and then made the slippery slidey walk back to the car - pretty little track though !
Thanks for the cache, rehikemike ! Big Grin

12-Apr-15
Found it. Few trees have fallen on path so a bit tricky. Thanks.

03-May-14
Headed up the track in the mist and drizzle to find about 20m of track blocked by a tangle of fresh fallen trees. It was just too slippery in the rain to go around it so we headed back reluctantly, except for the few leeches who weren't reluctant to come with us.

Will be back in drier weather.

Thanks for a new spot to visit.

Lovely walk through the bush. Took us awhile to find but I think that was because our phone reception was not that great.

Great find and beautiful spot.

23-Jan-14
An early morning start so I could find a few caches in Huonville and New Norfolk, using Oldsaints new series as a link

It was a slightly overgrown path, but easily walkable up to the cache. A recent camp fire just before the cache showed signs of life in the area.

It took a few minutes to find the cache as I went to the coordinates and not the obvious location.

Thanks for the cache rehikemike, it got the blood going for the day

I have had a bit of a caching hiatus so haven't been keeping track and was therefore unaware of how close I came to getting a FTF in this cache. While trekking the overgrown track I got very wet, very quickly. It was a good start to the day.

Hi rehikemike
This cache is not where I thought it was going to be when you talked to me about it before - nowhere near as far nor as high. I thought you may have to follow the power lines to the top, but not so.
Found the track easy to follow even though a little over-grown. It had a few obstacles that had to be traversed; otherwise I felt it was an easy walk, the track climbing gently to GZ. Takes about 10 minutes each way.
The cache was found and logged at 0857hrs.
*FTF* was greatly appreciated.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
