Day three of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune and after spending the night in Surat, set out to collect the local caches. We searched many nooks and crannys, but we couldn't find the cache here today
On a drive from Roma to St George and back today with the youngest stortigirl. Lots of great views, history and caches enjoyed by both of us along the way. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for us to enjoy!
After 3 weeks in the Outback, we are now heading home, stopping for sightseeing and caching.
Nice to see the upgrade of this area since we were here last time.

We tried to hide from the muggle sitting on top of the rock, but we’re pretty sure he saw us! A nice straight forward find, but it still took us a few minutes to get there.
Today’s trip saw us travel from Roma to St George as we work our way to Cunnamulla from where we will launch our journey back to Victoria. We picked up a range of caches designed to. Real up the journey and had a mini tour of Surat. A short day travelling and some good sightseeing and caching.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches to enhance our travels.

Nice little caching weekend Beaudesert to Nindigully on Friday night, exploring Thallon & St George on the Saturday, then Nindigully back to Beaudesert vis Surat, Meandarra & Dalby. Had a blast, found all but one cache, and cleaned up the map a lot. 15 down, out of 26, All caches were either stamped or signed with either RC13 or Rogersclan13 depending on space.
What's a country town without a cache at the welcome sign? Answer: Non-existant! But we stopped, and made the nice easy find with everything in good condition.
Mrs Rogersclan won this one.....
Thanks for the cache **jpgordo**

TFTC. A nice quick find after I ditched my non- geocaching husband. He went for a chiko roll and I chose to go for a walk with a mission in mind. To find this cache. I know who will put a few kilos on this holiday and it’s not me.
Grabbed while traveling our wonderful country. Love the fishermen. TFTC jpgordo.
Found on Day 3 of my travels as I meander my way north from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
Thanks jpgordo for the cache.

Woohoo. Finally get to tick this one off.
I couldn't find it a few days ago but today I had a more thorough look and spotted something out of place.

We're staying in Surat tonight so I took the opportunity to have a geo-tour of town after we'd set up at the caravan park. A quick find here ... thanks for the hide jpgordo and for making us stop at a pretty cool welcome sign.
Starting to head north to Dayboro for the first Mega in Aus for over a year. Not sure if we will make it all the way as covid has started to rear it’s ugly head again. Chasing windmills, AL’s, counties and Jasmers as we meander around the recent flood waters. Here we thought 2021 would be a bit more chilled than last year! Sigh. This one took us a long hunt but we finally got there. Thanks for putting out the cache and keeping all the fun alive.
Searched and waljed around the "feature" quite a few times looking in all crevaces. Oh well, one for next time.
... and then Nibletricecakes found it - yay! Trackable collected to take on our travels.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 10833.
When I was doing my planning for this trip I spotted this one and thought it might be a nice quick find. After driving more than 1000 km yesterday I spent a night in town having a nice relaxing evening before getting up early this morning and heading out here. As I arrived at the GZ I was a bit concerned that I had the wrong spot but I needn’t have worried because I soon spotted the quite large cache.
Thanks jpgordo for the cache.

Co ords out by about 9m, but an easy find after I did the rounds. TFTC jpgordo
Today was a meander to Surat for caching and sightseeing. There is a giant aquarium in a Council building and lots of other interesting things to see Mopped up the caches as best I could Reckon the road between Roma and Surat wouldn’t need much encouragement to flood Forgot to bring my wallet and nice lady happily let me count out silver to buy hot coffee ️ and cheesecake. Must be feeling rusty Enjoyed my outing Hope the bottle trees in the front paddock grow as well as those around this region.

Homeward bound from QOGM2019 and collecting caches along the way. Stopping for the caches makes the drive go along much quicker. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches and making the trip much safer.
Travelling from Roma to Goondiwindi on the way back home after attending QOGM 2019 at Blackall. Looking for caches along the highways and in towns of Surat and St George. Thanks to all CO's for the placement of these caches - greatly appreciated. Signed the log and placed back where found. TFTC

Traveling back home to Adelaide after our winter in the sun, stopped here today for a quick find and sign
The Rats and mini rats have just returned from an amazing 6-week adventure to Cape York. Along the way we had time to stop and grab a big handful of caches, some of our finds were in the remotest parts of Australia. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing your cache, you've all contributed to us having a great holiday. Apologises for the generic log.

Cairns trip 2019. Day 3. I drove from Dirranbandi to north of Injune via Surat & Roma. A quiet day on the road, but plenty of caches along the way. Another car was here so I had to wait till they left, but after that it all went smoothly.
Thanks.

I love this town with its Cobb and Co history and pretty river walk. I found this little cache hiding away.
Sadly did not get this one looked under all the rocks could not find. Hopefully cache blind and not missing. Plus had limited time to look will be back
An easy find by The Marathon Man and pnutbeagle as we continue our holiday trip around Australia - Today we traveled from Roma, QLD to Lightning Ridge, NSW.
This was one of the 13 caches found today - most were easy but a couple were a challenge.

A quick roadside find in good condition while headed north for Christmas. I put more paper in as log book was full. Nice to see it so green. Love Surat' s welcome statue. Tftc

Monday. After making the journey to Carnarvon Gorge for International Geocache Day, we are now on the return journey. Another cache that has its home tucked away in a familiar spot, Surat appears to take a lot of pride in its township. We signed the log and replaced it where we found it and were then back in the car and on our way back to Brissy. I took lots of pictures of the roses that were opposite the local shop (where we also stopped to have a coffee and lunch).
This was the 13th of 22 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***jpgordo***, for showing us this place.

Thanks for another easy cache in an easy to park area. Another stop along the road from Roma to St George today, collecting smileys on the way
After a short search we made the find, muggles spotted us but they were more amused then anything else, there children are cachers and new exactly what we were doing. All is good with this hide. TFTC jpgordo

Hi there jpgordo.
We are on our way to [QOGM](https://coord.info/GC7P875), the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster, which is being held in Barcaldine. We cached towards Surat, and back towards Roma today.
Our find total today was 12 caches & we DNF'd 1. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels as we continue our nomadic wanderings around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

We are very slowly meandering through south west Queensland on our way to the GeoMuster in Barcaldine in September. We pulled over here for a quick find and photographed the welcome. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy - we wouldn't have stopped here otherwise and would have missed the unique welcome. Signed log and returned the cache to its hidey hole.
While on our training trek we are on the move to Inverall. Nice easy find. Great photo shot. Thanks for the cache
Found on my way home from Cairns. It is good to have these breaks - one of the many positives of Geocaching.
This is such a welcoming community to free campers. Thank you Surat.
