We are on a ten-day road trip from Sydney around the Central West. Were staying in Cowra but caching around Grenfell today. Great name for a cache in a place like this. It was a lonely place today with the neighbours dog greeting us with constant barks. Got to GZ and thought Hmmm, thats a funny place for a rock! As it turns out, it was a perfect place! SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
On our travels we found ourselves in Grenfell and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, geo hubby spotted this one quite quickly and the log was signed, thanks for placing this cache
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
I see dead people. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Geohubby (GeoTigerAce) and I are headed off on a 4 week holiday from Brisbane heading to Canberra, Parkes, Katoomba, Sydney, Melbourne, Ballarat, Dubbo, and Coonabarabran as our main stops, with lots of side stops along the way planned. A much needed road trip to take in the sites and spend some time away in nature.Over the course of our 4 weeks I wanted to focus on Australia's 'oldest' caches, and caches of interest (e.g., iconic locations, interesting locations, lots of favourite points, and places I have never been) as well as hitting my next milestone (#600). It has been a wonderful trip and we have seen so much, and spent a lot of time caching and exploring little places of interest. Thanks to all of the cache owners for maintaining these caches and bringing us to beautiful places on our travels, and challenging us to keep on looking at the world just a little bit differently. Lots of memories have been made.Day 6: TripCache #28: I decided we definitely needed to stop in Grenfell as part of our trip. On the way in this cache was just calling to be found. Quick stop, great little cache.. TFTC.
On a road trip holiday with CaptainKirky heading South from Brisbsne. On this part of the trip we are heading from Canberra to Forbes for the Forbes show, stopping a few times along the way to grab a few caches. Loving these finds including this one.
Gahh, Another cemetery cache. Why are they always hidden at the back of the cemetery!!.. Put em out the front so i dont have to walk in and get the heebie jeebies!!!
Cache was quickly found, log signed and returned to its original location.

Searching in the dark wasn’t helping but I found a good hiding spot which was bare. My continued search set of a neighbouring dog so thought I shouldn’t hang around much longer. Glanced around other items near GZ without luck.
Found -- 9:20 am -- Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *Spock1967*.
**Cache Condition:** Good and dry.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** Dropped off Spotty Duck.
**The Cache**
Interesting name for a cache/cemetery. I like the container, good hide and easily missed. We sometimes forget to look in the other direction. Fortunately if didn't take long to find. There are a couple of graves here attached to my husbands maternal side of the family. We went driving around but the cemetery doesn't seem overly well sign posted, so we didn't get to visit the graves.
With CIH we signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.
**The Day**
I am surprised, I have not done and solid caching for over a year. It is so nice to be out and enjoying nature again.
OCW *Mr TOC*, *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet* on a much welcome and impromptu overnight run to somewhere unknown, well... ... I did consider a night in Grenfell if we could get a bed there. With nothing booked we threw some clothes in a bag, grabbed some trackables for distribution and were out the door quicker than a scared jack rabbit. Element of surprise Mr TOC, element of surprise. I'm sure he was surprised I moved so quick and left him spinning [:-D].
We found a room at the local motel, definitely a *Pokemon* players delight with something like four poke stops and two gyms that can be played all night long from the comfort of your bed. With a few extra steps to the fence-line there are about three more that can be played.
We went to see the Grenfell Silo Art which was stunning, and wanted to go to Harden to see their but didn't have time. Caches to maintain, find and the need to get home for work tonight.
Had the most brilliant time away - happy wifey.

Travelling from Perth to Canberra with lots of side tracks.TFTC.
A stretch and bit of manouvering and I had it in hand.
Took a bit to turn the caravan around. Should have parked at the gate.

Well this was a lovely quick find, these places always amaze me how easy we have it and back in the day life must have been so hard. Tftc
I went round and round until a clue in an earlier log gave me inspiration. TFTC
We are staying in Grefell for the night so we could get the caches in town. This is one we found. This cache is almost right in your face yet we walked past it 3 times. TFTC Spock1967
Now this one could have been a challenge. The area is so large and the possibilities large, but fortunately divine inspiration led Mrs SKI to spot the cache quickly. A great size!
Today we said farewell to Temora and moved on the short distance fo Grenfell. We picked up a few caches en route and arrived mid morning and set up in the donation camp at the Old Railway Station. A lovely setting with the restored station and a playground nearby. Only sharing it with one other! We then checked out the local area caching breaking it with lunch and a coffee at one of the local cafes. The scenery here with its rolling plains and hills is quite different to home. The storm clouds rolling in over the nearby mountains were spectacular.
As for the nearby silo art, amazing.
Thank you to the local cachers. A mixture of hides and a couple quite clever.

I do love a clever hide! This one defied us for a bit then we looked for higher inspiration. A favourite point. Tftc
Amazing how something in plain sight can be difficult to see. Very clever hide. Tftc
I was head down when another voice went, “isn’t this it?” Pointing totally where I wasn’t looking... What an adventure. Found it, and had a great time.
Thanks

TFTC. We are slowly making our way to the Queensland Mega at Dayboro. From Temora we detoured to Grenfell for an overnighter (or maybe an extra day depending on the weather forecast). After making camp we ventured out to find some caches and to explore the area. We had a great couple of hours 1 DNF and 1 maybe later as well as 11 finds.
We seem to spend some time in cemeteries.

I love these places - very interesting, and great place for a quiet cuppa. Thanks, Spock1967!
Out with Just a cacher on a caching trip before heading back to work and we decided to head past this one on our journey.
The cache was found quickly and was in good condition.
Thanks for the cache Spock1967.

Started looking in the usual spots before seeing it right in front of me!
Thanks,
Thanks,
I searched the area and then stopped to read past logs. Oh, the low terrain rating does not indicate where this cache is hidden. Fortunately I could reach, but some will need to bring a boost to reach. Could do with a bit higher terrain rating. Cache and log are good. TFTC Spock1967.
A few muggles about, plus I am impatient. Caching is about the location for me, not the thrill I f the find. If I don’t find it in the first few minutes, I move on.
A long weekend brings with it a weekend of camping and caching. fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a loop from Goulburn out to Naranderra, Griffith, Condoblin and back home so I could pick up the last few counties out that way.
Heading from Condoblin to home today. After a small sleep in, we headed home caching along the way. fitzy stopped here thinking he had remembered a family member was here. I saw that there was a cache so quickly jumped out of the car. Quick find here today. Took TB.

TFTC. While my wife was looking for relatives, I was looking for caches! Country is so green
We looked for this cache today while travelling through with ilook4geo. There was no great views today due to the quite heavy smoke haze from the fires. The air smelled with all the smoke too. The cache was easily found and all was in good order, but had to get assistance from longer legs and arms to retrieve this one. Thanks go to Spock1967 for placing and maintaining this cache for all to enjoy.
We had a great view of smoke today as we travelled along with goingplaces2. The bushfires have affected so much of the state. But we still found some caches and this was one of them. Log was signed, job done! TFTC.
Heading home now so time to get one or two caches (to fill a hole in the calendar if not anything else). Drove into this impressive cemetery and looked at a few graves. Could drive to the back fence so a short walk to the cache. Spotted from afar and I could easily reach without the provided assistance. TFTC Spock67 - cache all in good nick
We are defiitly a couple of those who are fascinated with cemeteries, and we know why.

My first geocache!!! Just as I was about to give up I spotted it. Great spot thx
My brother and I were on geocaching for the first time and when we were tiered of searching we found it. P.S there was no pen
great cache in a tricky spot but things have been put down to give you a helping hand
We were heading back from the QOGM zig bagging our way picking up caches along the way.
We fall into the group that enjoys walking around cemeteries and reading the tombstones picking up the history of the area. which is what I did today and parked at the front and slowly walked through just taking things in.
Once at gz I started a search and found nothing but expanded the search but the GPS kept on insisting that I come back to where I started.
I stopped to read some previous logs to see if there were any hints and at the same time saw a glint out of the corner of my eye and sure enough it was much bigger than expected cache container. I was very happy that it didn't have teeth or I would be walking around with some very nasty injuries.
Thanks once more Spock1967 for the cache.

Had tried for this one many years ago. So was very happy to find it today. Very clever had to get help from Mr Bushy to come and stabilize me. When we arrived at GZ the mother sheep on the other side of the fence had just given birth to twins.

With a day free I decided to go for a drive to Grenfell and clean it out. This didn’t end up happening as some caches I couldn’t find and some are missing (according to past logs). About ½ of the caches I found today are in need of some urgent TLC. The list of issues includes: cracked containers, waterlogged/full logbooks, missing parts of field puzzles, incorrect coordinates and completely missing containers. I did try my best to help CO’s with these problems as much as possible but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough supplies with me for all of them. I hope the CO’s will continue maintaining these great hides, to stay alive for others to find in the future. Today was a great day full of creative hides, great locations, fun hikes and lots of laughs. TB visit on all found caches today and on some of the smaller log books/sheets I signed as 13/9 JM. Even though I was upset with the state of some of the caches around, I still would like to say thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place the caches I found and the fun I had while finding them today. Sorry about the generic logs. Only the more interesting hides and DNF’s will get an extended logs due to the amount of caches I found today.
luckily I checked where the next cache was before I drove off. so instead I turned the car off and started into the cemetery. there are some old headstones here. once at gz the cache wasn't immediately obvious to me. I smiled when I finally spotted it, I admit to using a hint in a past log. In spite of the new houses going up all round the area I doubt this cache will be muggled. fav point awarded. tftc
It took a while but between the 5 of us and our eyes perched up we found us. Good one
Narrandera - GrenfellI
Swapped TBs here.
We have now set up camp at the old railway station. After a lunch break we did a tiki tour of the town, finding some very cleverly hidden caches in some great location. The town was very hot today.
Thanks for placing this cache Spock1967

An excellent hide and quite a challenge for diminutive GeoSis who spotted it. Very interesting graves kept us wandering for quite a while. TFTC.
Two cache finds this morning in two different towns - both in cemeteries. Such sad stories on some headstones. Tftc Spock1967 - enjoyed the novelty of the cache!
Love walking around graveyards and seeing how far back they go. It really puts into perspective how long ago this land was colonized. TFTC
We found no marbles hanging around here but plenty on the ground?

Found at 1:04 PM GAFF2.
Nice name for a cache which is a bit tricky and deserves a higher Difficulty rating. We were wondering why that item was there?
We have seen a few graves of bushrangers and they are usually placed way over in a corner away from everyone else. Looks like Dan Charters was really pardoned!
Thanks Spock1967.
