After a few weeks of planning, and a number of attempts to align calendars, this weekend I came down to Canberra and the ACT area for a big weekend of caching with The Rats and steeba. On bikes, on foot, and in the car, we targeted a number of series and Power Trails placed since our last trip down here. The weather was perfect, the company exemplary, and the numbers achieved exceeded my expectations. It was a very long and tiring weekend, but of course it was also extremely satisfying!
Despite our best searching efforts, we could not locate this cache. However, with the numbers that we were targeting, it may well still be there, we just could not commit the time for a thorough search to find it.
Thanks to the all of the cache owners for placing their caches. Sorry for the mainly generic logs.
Cheers

Came down to cache in Canberra today, thou it's hot we have been quite successful with cache hunting. TFTC
Nice little cache
Easy find (would've been easier if my GPS wasn't acting up)

A quick stop after work and the cache was soon in hand. Nicely tucked away from oncoming traffic. Thanks injuryman
Found this one after a DNF last year. Was hoping that my geocaching skills had improved from the last time HH and I searched for it - yay - that had! After finding the obvious, we searched a bit more thoroughly and finally found the little sucker! As a precaution, I have gloves in my caching bag these days, and we both had one on to make sure we did not come into contact with any creepy crawlies.
Thanks injuryman for the cache!
Thanks injuryman for the cache!
found with Angel. I was a bit worried that we would not find it, but Angel managed to put a finger on it. Thanks injuryman!
Someone put a note in it saying that it wasn't the geocache... So I'm not sure if it really was or not but it was awesome trying to find anyway ??
We found this cache this morning while filling in a few minutes before a dentists appointment (Yuck). Happy to say that the cache distracted us and after a quick search had the log signed, then back into the car for the inevitable.
Thanks injuryman,
Domsky

Found @ 6:44pm
I had DNF'd this one back in October last year so was keen to rectify that.
I used my hands for a much more "aggressive" search and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the aggravation injuryman

Found 10:44 pm with x_mscake. I had to get out and find my daily cache. I looked around for candidates and came up with this cache and another nearby. I had been out to this one a few days ago and couldn't find it. So this time I was a little more determined and had brought the geodaughter and her boyfriend X_mscake. I parked the geovehicle up on the grass right nearby. So started to search where I thought it should be and still struggled to locate something. I felt around and x_mscake did similar. The geodaughter also had a look around. She offered to try and look in closer being a smaller person and that's when she spotted something. The crazy part about it I had run my fingers over that area and it must have felt just part of it when I did. We did note the magnetism is quite strong, maybe that's why it didn't feel foreign when feeling around. Thanks for the cache.
Glad to see I am not the only person who doesn't find this one on the first visit. I shall return.
First visit I found a decoy, second visit I finally signed the log! Excellent hiding spot, really impressed.
Sadly was time limited and didn't get to check the whole rail. Found the decoy in no time at all but the cache eluded me this time
Had what I consider a pretty good search for what is listed as a 1.5 difficulty micro after finding the very obvious decoy. I'll keep an eye on this one.
With my GPS all over the place, I just started one end and worked my way along. On the second look, I found it. Thanks injuryman
It's a nice late Autumn day in Canberra. Me Mum's been in hospital for a couple of days, but she got out yesterday, and is fine. The GeoSchnauzers and I have had no exercise for the last couple of days. So today is ours!!! This is the tenth of seventeen for the day. It's another short but nice walk for the dogs. It was a quick find, and an excellent cache. Thanks!!!

Received the email alert that it was back online today, wasn't able to get away until 4pm, so naturally I was abit hesitate with school knock-off time, but as it turns out no-one was about.
At GZ I looked, poked, fiddled with everything to no avail, then spotted something, fished it out with a twig and...it was a red herring. Great. Placed it back and continued on with the search. Not long after another container was found, with many doubts I opened it, only to be pleasantly surprised with a blank log sheet. HAZAA! The proper cache was found! Logging duties complete, cache returned, red herrings returned...

Found on 3 February (just catching up with some long overdue logging of cache finds
Well - this one provided me with some entertainment ... firstly on 28 January when I came looking (after 2 finds and a DNF in page/Scullin area) ... Spotted one red herring from a mile off, then found another ... Had a good laugh ... Then I looked and looked and looked ... Even had a break and ate my banana ... Looked some more ... and didn't find it ... Sigh (so I took yet another detour on my way home and found something else that had been on my list for a while
Was riding past on my way home again on 3/2 and had another look ... and there it was - right in a spot where I am sure I had felt all around in last time ... In fact it was the first place I looked after the 2 ... Other ... places (the ones I fished the herrings out of either it had gone for a walk and come back ... Or I am really hopeless at feeling around for things without missing spots I don't know I have missed ... Because it was such an easy find ... On the second visit - LOL
TFTC - quite entertaining ... Hope it doesn't get muggled again once it is fixed ...

The dog was clean and I had some time for a change so I was looking for a nice easy walk in the suburbs so a lap of Scullin fitted the bill. This took me slightly out of the loop but it sounded interesting. Sadly I must have had my caching goggles on today. I managed to find two red-herrings but no green-lights.
7705. [green]Done a few of this idea type caches before, although they normally aren't next to a busy road where chances are increased that someone will come to see what was the issue. Searched the right spot first but missed then found a couple of interesting but fruitless objects before heading back to the first spot and must have missed it by| | that much [/green]

Ha ha ha - very funny! Tons of smoke in the air when I found this! And very windy - not good... Thanks for the fun IM.
2957. Hook, line and sinker. Yep two red herrings and then a cache. Nice work.

I am sure I have done a cache in this exact spot before. I only found one decoy before getting the right one. Just a bit fiddly, but all done ok. Thanks.

Yikes, how many red herrings can there be !. It was like a geocaching museum of micros and after finding every other possibility we found the correct one. Thanks injuryman for the micro storm!
#1342 - 15:55; The last of four in this area for the afternoon. Like earlier finders I too checked the red herrings (just to be sure) before the laying of hands on the actual cache. the log was a little hard to extract, so after signing, I rolled it a bit tighter so it should be a problem for the next finder. TFTC injuryman
Even though I knew there were red herrings, I still checked them out. But duly found and logged
7584 + 927 = 8511. One of a couple of caches found on the way to/from or at the Coast today !
First find on the way to pick up the kids. Quick find - but I just HAD to look at the herrings !!
Thanks injuryman ! Good One !!
TNLN - TFTC !!

Was there upon placement. although I DON'T CLAIM FTF. Thanks for the Cache injuryman
After picking up a FTF nearby, we decided to head over to this one and give it a crack since there were no logs apart from Crazy Chickens.
Arrived at GZ via a nearby street. Parked up and wandered over to the cache location.
Haha tricky tricky. After a couple slight detours, the cache was located. There was an entry within, but it wasn't Crazy Chickens. Hmm we had been beaten by Team.Wallace it seems.
Joint *STF* on this one with FurfacesLL at 1712

Knew the ftf had gone on this one but thought id just go and grab it. Got to gz on the bike and knew straight away where to look. Found the red herring and then the cache quickly TFTC
This one was close by from another that we had just got a Joint FTF on so we thought we would give it a try too.
But too late she cried.
TFTC injuryman and the red herrings.
