Time to go. Nothing nice here at all. Place needs a CITO and a bulldozer.
Thanks to all that have found & logged this cache

Took a while to find. Wasted a lot of time sorting out rubbish on the ground with my eyes. Phone kept bringing me back to 1m from GZ. Decided to trust the reading and elevate my thinking a little. Ah! Whats that i see. Soon had a very wet and mouldy log in hand. Tried twice to sign it and failed so i wrote on a scrap bit of paper i had. Sorry i didnt have spare one to replace it. Shame only 2 other names on the log albeit illegible.
Thx ftc

The best time to be caching in this hot weather is in the evening and today was no exception. Arkbell80 and I came down to Geelong to chip away at the edge of our furthest finds from home. Torch light and prickles meant we probably didn't look as thoroughly as we normally would. There are still plenty of other caches near by that we need to come and find. We will be back.
Smile

06-Jan-17
Out and about with Bazinga01 on a night cache run. This was our first DNF for the night. We were both up in the prickle bushes, spent half a hour looking then called it. Maybe next time.

02-Dec-16
In this area this afternoon, we decided to try our luck. With a tip from a previous finder we began our search. It was hard to pinpoint an area to concentrate and the loads of prickles did not help. We looked up and down, low and high and kept getting prickled. Eventually the cache was spotted but how to get it? Bravely the cache was in hand and the log signed then carefully replaced. The log is wet but I managed to write our name in the log....just. Thanks Darth Briji, great spot although the area is in need of a CITO!

20-Oct-16
Second attempt at finding this cache...still no luck

29-Jun-16
After all the storms and rain so far this year all we found after 2x searches was lots of trash both on the ground in and around mean ass trees. Also lots of trash in the trees.
Did not find.

29-Jun-16
This cache does not need maintenance. check the cache notes re- rubbish, mud, etc and also check the attributes. Also, "no find" does not warrant a Needs Maintenance log either
Needs Maintenance attribute removed
Happy Caching Smile

4 people looking dnf

14-May-16
Sorry wrong one

18-Apr-16
Wasn't sure whether to log a DNF or write note, as I didn't really have a proper search. Another car pulled up just before I did, and they hung around for a bit. When they left, I ventured towards the edge and a young guy on a bike was hauling fishing gear up. We exchanged pleasantries and I went down towards the water. He watched me, and it was then that I realised this was probably a very bad idea coming down here alone. The area is so isolated and full of trash, and no one would hear me scream. I was ready to call 000 on my phone when he eventually did leave. Then as I was about to crawl under those damn spiky prickly bushes another fisherman made his way down. That was it - I was out of there! Thankfully alive haha

21-Mar-16
Had a quick look but too much crap around. Not that keen for a find!!!

25-Feb-16
Only really had a quick look before having to leave. Will return when time permits. Did take a pic of the visiting cruise who though.

21-Jan-16
Gps had me out in the open so I Used the recent finds for clues but was unsuccessful today (wasn't very keen on all the prickles everyone spoke about whilst in shorts and thongs! Would love a hint for this one! Thanks for bringing us here

Second of two caches today.
Thanks for the cache!
Being small, I came out with minimal scratches, though in this case minimal was lots, but all good!

01-Jan-16
After chatting to the CO at today's event in Lara Nevile_Devil and I decided to make another attempt. After some brutal scratches and quite a bit of time looking we both spotted the little sucker. Nevile made the retrieval (including more scratches) and the log was finally signed.

I'll say thanks Darth Briji for the cache but I'm not 100% sure the scratches on us agree

01-Jan-16
Nice find Big Grin

21-Dec-15
Cache is still there in its prickly spot awaiting searchers who still dare venture into this now ever increasing feral "tip zone".
Maybe a site of a future CITO...?
New, clean log in place also

12-Dec-15
There was a consistent theme running throughout our caching attempts today.....lots of prickles, zero finds Sad After making an unsuccessful attempt on 'Galileo's Vision' in the You Yangs, hoping to find it before it is gone for good, we headed into town to run some errands. We decided to have another look for this one, since we were appropriately attired and in possession of good gloves. (last time we were all dressed up after one of the girls dance concerts - no way we were going in there like that!) Today we gave it a really good hunt with the help of Neville-devil, finding many of the poor critters that others have mentioned, and leaving with nothing but a myriad of scratches and scrapes. These thorns even made the ones in the you yangs look tame! Very tempting to come back with the secateurs.....thanks for the challenge.....we think!

Interesting cache notes give this cache a sense of appeal - well it would have to be one of the most disgraceful places we have searched for a cache. Certainly not the place to introduce someone to the geo-game! Our second visit (first on 12/9/14) and we looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out! We're a tipp'n it's a miss'n.

Thanks anyway to Darth Briji for bringing us to this location.

Based on preceeding logs, the last "Found It" being in June, perhaps it's time for the CO to check on this one please!

Found today while attending elf. Had alot of fun.tftc awesome hide

30-Oct-15
There are not many caches you're willing to give up on if you don't find. But... this is one of them. So much rubbish and brambles. Had a really good look, especially exactly where the gps took me, and from a few angles, but couldn't find it. Thought I had, but it turned out to be a golf ball. I think someone plays golf from a ship or something, found quite a few golf balls around, including a lot in the nearby bunker. If someone wants to tell me where this cache is, I'll go back, otherwise it can stay on my dnf list.

17-Sep-15
I searched for quite some time here. I found lots of rubbish and lots of thorns but no cache. There was also a foul odour of dead fish or rubbish - not sure which. After about 20 minutes I thought it was time to give this one up...

12-Sep-15
We tried and tried but the two angel boys couldn't find it. We found the crucified rat, but cache. Although we didn't know what we were looking for amongst all that rubbish

11-Jun-15
I'm in this area for work for three weeks so I thought I'll use this opportunity to check out some caches. This one is just round the corner so I have it a go early in the morning. What a site it is !!! Plastic, bottles, dead dried out rate pales on the thorn bush and of course the thorn bush. Did I mentioned that thorn bush? I searched high and low with no luck. I left with a temporary DNF but was back in couple of hours. Again searched high and low, checked the logs, but still no luck. The lonely fishermen looked really puzzled watching me crawling one four. I checked the coordinates again and stood where they told me to stand, and .... they are spot on Smile. What a sneaky one Smile. TFTC Smile

14-Apr-15
Without the excuse of nearby fishermen, we can honestly say: No way are we going in there in t-shirts, jeans and (at least we had thought of these!) gloves.
The amount of rubbish and box thorn in this location could hardly be balanced by "spotting" the Hygeia and a ship being loaded. We will have to come back wearing armour and possibly a little hint to know if the suspicious but out-of-reach item we saw contains the reward we were after.

24-Mar-15
really did like this one :/ didnt bring gloves and i got prickled everywhere! found eventually 30 mins later

14-Mar-15
We didn't find it. To many muggles who kept following us around. In the end we just raged quit. ;(

13-Feb-15
I was expecting to be muggled out by fishermen here but not today. I can say I got the point of this cache Wink tftc

19-Jan-15
Found with muggle freind about to become fellow cacher, almost gave up then dylan made the find.

09-Jan-15
Had a muggle on site fishing so wasnt able to overtly look too hard even using my daughter to search as well. No find for me today.

11-Nov-14
I had a fair look here today. Only one fisherman and he was more interested in his lunch and his lines than what I was doing. I found the dead rat and an eclipse tine, it was not the correct cache (well it was empty if it was) I had not brought the long arm welding gloves so other potential hide locations were "out of reach".

23-Oct-14
Nice easy find lovely quite spot

17-Oct-14
Found it after about 30 mins of looking and 30 million cuts. DO NOT attend this one without protective clothing unless u like pain - as mentioned above, gloves and sleeves

14-Sep-14
We had attempted to try this one a few times before but always got muggled out by fishermen, but this time to coast was clear, this one took a bit of a hunt, but we finally got it under the cover of night, there was even a rat impaled in the plant, just shows how prickly this sucker is lol, thanks for the cache Darth Briji.

21-Jul-14
While enjoying the last few days before uni goes back I was checking my facebook when a message popped up, asking if there was anyone free to go caching. After a bit of a discussion it was set an afternoon caching adventure with Roads75 and myself. We had a great time collecting several caches on this fine winters afternoon.

We found loads of things that were not caches in this area, including a very small dead possum which was caught in the bushes, Sad . It took a bit of perseverance but with Roads75 keen eyesight the cache was soon found and our names were added to the log. TFTC

21-Jul-14
Well definitely need long sleeves and gloves for this one....definitely a test for caching eyes Smile tftc

Absolutely freezing here this morning. Chucked a raincoat over my jacket, just in case I got caught in a downpour. Glad I did, needed all the layers I could get at GZ. Had to perform a careful extraction here, thankfully no humans were harmed today. WinkWink Added a couple of pics of a strange little building I spied on my approach to GZ. TFTC Darth Briji Cool

26-Jun-14
Came armed with gloves and old clothes for this find. Accurate co-ords eventually led to finding the sneaky little hide. Careful extraction was required in order not to draw blood. Thanks to Darth Brijl for the hunt.

11-Jun-14
Out for the day with Mrs Crackers, Alansee and Micaparamedic caching around Geelong.
A fantastic day was had by all with many different hides and views.
Thanks Darth Briji, Regards The Coffee's.

11-Jun-14
Mrs Crackers joined Alansee, Mrs Coffee and Micaparamedic for a days caching adventure around northern Geelong.
It was Mrs Coffee who had come prepared here so whilst we were all looking gingerly she located the cache and got to the logwithout blood loss and all our names were added to it while we enjoyed the views from here, no ships though,
Thanks again for the cache.

11-Jun-14
Found with Micaparamedic, Team Crackers, and The Coffees. We were already sharing the hides around - this time it was Mrs Coffee who made the find and the retrieval (she had come prepared).

11-Jun-14
After searching in the dark last night we returned today in the daylight an located this 1 straight away an discovered a new fishing spot whe we were here Smile

11-Jun-14
Finally found it after the 3rd attempt

10-Jun-14
With 4 pairs if eyes looking it fell to Mrs Coffee to make the find. Long sleeves and a glove denied the opportunity for blood to be drawn. Thanks for the hide.

09-Jun-14
Found with trailrunning on a trip to Geelong to clean up around 50 for the day/night, we did a few aound Melbourne on our way out and back as well, some Quality caches were found tonight. Thanks Darth Briji for the cache.

09-Jun-14
It's the Monday of the Queen's Birthday weekend and Rebel Acts and I want to travel to Geelong to clean up all the caches north of the Barwon River. While we were not successful in getting them all we were able to find 50 caches at a rate of 1 cache every 10 minutes. We also had a chance meeting with Ballarat team HIGHROD just before they left for home.

On a few occasions we used the help of the self-proclaimed Geelong Geocaching HQ (Bushfire) to help us along the way. While the weather was cold, the pace was enough to see me caching in a t-shirt for most of the day and night, until the fog descended of course.

Tricky in the dark, but it was daylight so no troubles today except for the blood.

A great time was had and some really good caches discovered. Thanks to the CO's for their efforts. We will return..

06-Jun-14
Nice walk but no log book

06-Jun-14
There is no log book

06-Jun-14
Found it but no log in the container and a lot of beer bottles around

This cache has been for Premium Members only for a while now. Now it's for all members to enjoy. Please keep me updated in your logs the condition of the cache and please log any DNF's. Happy caching Smile

Now that I have read the description, I agree you need gloves and long sleeves. All was well though as I was very careful once it was spotted. It was smelly here today too.
Met a muggle who was looking for a friend's surf kite that he thought had been blown up on shore here. He didn't have any luck but did enjoy watching the ships out near the yellow marker. We chatted for a while before I headed off to find more caches.

Found a very long time ago [as at 27/2/17], before the brackets in the name appeared.
Sorry for my delayed log.
I have a huge build up of saved unlogged found caches and now the old app is retiring, I thought I better get onto a couple while I have a few hours free.
My apologies again.
Cheers and T.F.T.C!
Safe travels & hoppy caching =]

17-May-14
This is a different spot and somewhere that we wouldn't have come across otherwise. We looked for a while, expanding our search area but had no luck today. That is an interesting outlet up the top.

17-May-14
ABL973 did not find the cache, but found a very sick rabbit and a dead rat. Felt bad for the rabbit because there was nothing I could do.

17-May-14
Arrived at GZ with spot on coords and the cache was found.
Thanks for the Cache Darth Briji

After many u turns to get here, I made my way to Gz.
There were a couple of fisherman nearby who were giving me attention, combined with the thoughts of entering a thorny bush area...I thought.
"You know..I don't need this one. "
But thanks for showing me area.
Cheers

Found! Followed the winding road through the industrial area & parked on the gravel. Well hidden spot allowed for easy searching or so I thought. The amount of rubbish here & thorn bushes was terrible. Cache had me looking in a few spots & saw a few bird nests. GPS was about 4m away & after trying a few different angles, saw this sneaky little hide. Got a few sharp thorn pricks, but no damage done.

Thanks for this cache Smile

This one has been sticking out on the Geomap so was about time to head out and grab it.
Took a road I have never been down before, and dodgily crossed the railway tracks.
Had a bit of a slide around before I saw this little fellow from the other side.
Fave point for bringing me to this spot, great views! tftc

Having just read all the previous logs nobody has indicated that the area is now a no go area with signs warning to not go past the barrier.!!! KEEP OUT. Danger.

Well the ageing Bushfire just donned his CFA cap and wandered past to check out the area.
GZ did not appear very friendly and this turned out to be very true but I escaped with minimal damage thankful that the wind was not blowing.

Thanks to Darth Briji for placing these caches.

05-Feb-14
GPS had me inspecting some birds nests 5/7 meters away. A quick call to co and I got the little fella with only a few scratches to show for my bother. The force was so strong with this one it threw my GPS out. Tftgc darth.

Suscoe was out and about today in search of smilies.SmileSmileSmile
This was the eighth of nine to undergo the transformation from green rectangle to yellow circle.

A delightfully cool afternoon greeted us here with a good bit of sun shining. The wind was so strong it was hard work getting the car door open.
A search took place and the cache was soon located.
Log signed with some uttering and muttering.

Thanks to Darth Briji for placing this cache here.

Found on a beautiful Sunny day on our way to 1000 caches, TODAY IS THE DAY.
Quite a few scratches while retrieving the cache. Signed log. TFTC

Thongs are not an appropriate foot wear for this one .found the cache with a small amount of blood lose. No fisherman here tonight TFTC

Having managed a FTF on #6 in this series earlier in the day, I was not in a position to dash out to attempt the same for this guy, so decided to leave him until I was over this side of town, which as it happens was the next day.
I parked and headed down to GZ with all three geokids in tow. The one fisherman who was present seemed quite uninterested in our presence which may have had something to do with the fact that the fish were biting (he made at least one catch in the time we were there). With the Geomonkey providing a distraction by snapping some shots on the phone and the geoboys climbing nearby, I headed in (very carefully) for a look.
Tried various angles, all of them unsuccessful and the Geomonkey (true to form) searched from above. The GPSr was a little jumpy but eventually settled and after trying a few different angles I made my own catch of the day. I was able to extract the little blighter with a minimum of damage, signed and returned and we left the fisherman in peace.
Definitely a GZ which Bushfire would approve of Razz and some great views to be had too.
Thanks Darth Briji Big Grin!

***FTF 18:12***

Had just got into work when the email popped up with a cache sort of close to work. With nothing better to do i jumped into a car and tried for a FTF. Arrived at GZ and the phone was a little jumpy. Wasnt long before the cache was found and empty log signed. There is a little interesting bunker type thing up the kill. I wonder what its purpose was? TFTC and the cache Smile
