DNF, definitely worth the trip out anyway! That little house is sinking fast
Sadly a DNF for this one, lovely location Aussiepuschaks and Jemalong&family and I enjoyed the sinking house.
Our team with Sophiescout and Jemalong abs Family were unable to locate this but still took a photo for posterity. TFTC attempt.
House has sunk a lot since previous photos. A really interesting spot but no cache. TFTC
Sadly a DNF from me as well, like previous comment said there did look to be a lot of roof missing compared to previous photos??
Oh well such a lovely spot on this lovely day.

Beautiful early morning start along the lake. Cold and frosty made for good photo opportunities.

We had a most enjoyable day of caching from our base at Bungendore. The weather just perfect and the scenery so green and beautiful. Yours was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to vlex26 for arranging this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Such an interesting spot, it felt really odd actually walking out on the lake. There has been water in it on a few occasions in my lifetime, but just knowing it's a lake made it feel surreal. I do wonder what the story behind the house is. In contrast, the house on the hill overlooking this spot is on a completely different scale. Cache was easy enough to find once at the house. These are the kind of adventures that caching is all about. Thanks vlex26.
Out and about again with Lpud for a day trip around Lake George. What a strange sight this is. We got there and saw the mint tin on the ground on the inside of the house. Oh no I thought. Luckily it’s not it though so no need to touch anything. Thanks for bringing me out here.
Out for a Saturday learner Election Day drive around lake George and found our way here. WT??? This is all kinds of weird! Thankyou! TFTC
Currently travelling Australia .staying at Bungendore Showgrounds thought we'd come out and do some caching in the area .
thanks for the Cache

Well, that was a minty fresh find . I nearly took the bait but the skulls put me off. Just as well, cos the ‘roos were already laughing at me.
A curious place.

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC
Another great day out with woolwood9 hunting containers.
SL - Stamped logs as TM/WW NZ or printed tm421/ ww9

What a fun bit or art! We have never actually stepped out on the surface of lake George, could pretend it was the surface of the moon ! One small step for the Stormcatchers hahaha
Apparently lake George is a good spot to hunt for meteors, definitely some interesting rocks, but all looked earth like to me.
Cache quickly located and we took a few photo's before heading off.
Wonderful location. TFTC

Left Port Macquarie heading south to the Mega event .
We are now back at Gundaroo Sports ground.
There are now 7 geocaching teams here. TMann from NZ had a quick stop here looking for a cache, so they spent some time here chatting
Decided to head towards Bungendore & up the side of Lake George. This was a wonderful drive, the cache containers were all so relevant to the hide name.
FP given. I looked inside the house & saw a mint tin, I was so happy that this was not the cache.
Thanks for placing this cache vlex26

There were a heap of birds in this area, some of which we recognised as Friarbirds. Anyway, back to caching. A short walk whilst being watched by some kangaroos. TFTC
Ah, so it was an art project? That makes more sense. Although not sure that the bones inside were part of it? Cache container was a bit wet - dried the log as best we could. TFTC.
We parked up and walked out to the little house on the very dry lake, where we soon found the cache once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
An amazing Little House, thanks for bringing us out to see this on the edge of the Lake.

After spending Christmas with family and being hampered by a sore foot, I was getting edgy about not caching in my holidays, and a little bored. So Joeylovestreasure and I concocted a plan to grab a few early morning caches along Lake George before the sun was above the yard arm (when beer becomes mandatory)! Great to catch up with an old friend and caching mentor from my first days of caching!
Unless otherwise noted, caches found in good condition and in accordance with any hints.
This cache: last one for this road! FP for bringing us here!
Thanks vlex26 for the cache and the fun!

Final day in the Canberra area. Thank you to all the cache owners who spent time, energy and dollars placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Also please take a bow as your coords were in the most part really good.
Slowly wondering north after the Parkville Mega. Thank you, vlex26 for placing this cache it certainly added to the enjoyment of our trip. 3959. TFTC TNLN. We really enjoyed this trail, took many photographs and had the most pleasant day. We are not disappointed most logs are cut and paste. please don't be offended as we truly enjoyed the trail.

Found whilst caching along the scenic lake road drive with MJ5. No water around, just heaps of roos, so was a dry stroll to the house. TFTC
Nice quick find as Touchstone7 and I did a few of the local caches. She'd already done this cache, so was having fun watch me try and find it.
Loved the building. Found out that it was built as an art project rather than a house that's actually sinking. Great site and thanks for bringing me here.

This is the third time we have been out to the end of this road. The first time it was summer and the grass was too long and snakey to attempt this one. The second time the lake was near full and it was too wet to attempt it. Today conditions looked good and we walked out to the "Little House on the prairie". Very interesting spot. Earns a favorite from us.

Found on a few days off work caching. Headed up after work last night for an early start. Thankyou for the cache
Been intending to make the trip out to this one for some time and today was the day. Interesting structure and after a quick circuit the container was spotted and, with a little effort, extracted. TFTC viex26
Found it lying on the ground. Put it back according to the hint adjacent to where it was on the ground. TFTC on this glorious winters day.
Found on ground. Didn't read hint till after so place cache back where we found it. Tftc
The walk would have been more enjoyable if not for the wind. Big Roos out here! Love the round house. Great place for photography. Kutgw
Silvereyes, do we really have to walk out that far? Will we get bogged? Kangaroos, big ones everywhere, seemed to take no notice of us; noticed a really nice house up on the hill with big windows overlooking this part of the lake.
Scrupulously read all the previous logs to make sure I was primed for this one - found it with no trouble. You don't have to be Father Christmas!!
What we thought was the cache was an eclipse tin, looked cachey. Sorry for my mistake. We'll have to go out and try again. Thanks for checking!
Caching our way home from the geomuster mega. We coukdnt resist an extra night on the road and a chance to do the lake series. Camping at the showgrounds provides a perfect jump off point for the series. What an amazing structure, glad to be brought here. Tftc
The cache was left where we found it ie: covered by the tin roof but visible from the other side of the roof. We believe that it could still be in its hiding place as its a micro.
Not sure why anyone would put the cache down the chimney but it should be retrievable if it can be seen?
We would be interested to know if the previous cacher could describe the container they saw 'down' the chimney as we have a feeling that they may be referring to rubbish. Reason being that the size of this cache would orobably not be visible in the long grass that's growing within the chimney?
We are going out this way yet again soonish to undertake more bushwalking (love the area) so we will check it out if someone else doesn't beat us to it first.

Sunday 28 - 31 January - a warm muggy Summer's week in the low 30s with dark grey storm cloud rolling in from the horizon to threaten rain but sadly very little was to eventuate. Firstly found 7 from 7 caches bike riding and walking approx: 3.5km over 3hrs in around Stirling/Rivett/Chapman/Fisher. Then moved on later into the afternoon driving to the Lake George area over 3 hours tio entertain Nonna and then coming back to bushwalk thru the week to complete what we had started to finish up with 15 from 15 caches - total 22 for the week.
Worth a favourite point for luring our group out to this location for the sake of a yellow smiley. Glad we undertook this walk as it was facinating to see how the ravages of time via repeated lake flooding, has affected and buried this structure. Also loved walking on the lake itself while conscience of and careful of snakes given the lake's reputation. TFTC viex26.

I was planning on caching in Nowra on the way home from a weekend camping in Moruya, but the holiday traffic was horrendous so i found another way west.

On a two day caching/camping trip with EverestHigh around this area from Queanbeyan to Captains Flat then back to Goulburn. What a great area to visit with so many caches to grab. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these many and varied hides. Some interesting information about the many places we visited.
On our way to do the Lake Rd series. What a variety of cache containers. And such a small house found by Big Brew and Little Ev. TFTC

#2379. Caching with Green-martian, Duffco And Jan. A quick find. Interesting little house here. I have never walked this far into Lake George before. TFBUH vlex26.
Finally I can say I walked on lake George. Jumped over a fence and walked up to GZ. Went caching along the west side of Lake George with TheSkype, plus 2 muggles Duff and Jan. It was a straight FWD drive up the no thru road picking up caches in snake territory, with some caches being quite clever. Tftc.
This feels so weird out here. Wonder how tall this was originally. Awesome to see the extent of alluvial inundation in such a relatively short period of time. Wonder what else is now buried out there? TFTC

Took an afternoon caching trip out to the Lake George area on a bit of a stormy afternoon. Luckily it all ended up being a whole lot of impressive grey clouds and nothing else so a nice scenic trip and some great caches found along the way. This is a great road to travel down but this little house is just worth the trip alone and a FP from me. I love the way its just half there but on this grey stormy day it sure did look a pretty picture, just wish the camera on the phone could have captured it better. Thanks for the cache vlex26.
Made a quick dash out here as the rain was coming across the lake. Luckily a quick find too. Interesting but sad history here. SL TFTC viex26
Always enjoy a cache with history and a story .

Now that the mega event has been and gone I can start logging geocaches again. Is amazing just how much admin is involved with this game.
Something I definitely didn't expect. Would have thought the house would fall apart while sinking. Just plain weird, but then you often see whole cars disappear on Frazer island.
Cache was lying out in the open so I've put it back under the enclosure. If you can't see it from outside just go inside. Ignore the bones. They're old. Tftc. All good with it even with exposure.

What an amazing location. Was watched by a number of kangaroos. I'm sure I remember some song from Sunday school about wise men not building their house upon Lake George. First time I have had to reach down to a roof. TFTC
After ducking under the barb wire fence and a walk across to this Little House, it was simply a matter of looking at the situation from various angles until the container was spotted. Then it was around to the other side to retrieve it. Thankfully it is not a big house! Our name was noted on the log and all was replaced before heading back to the geo vehicle. Thank you to vlex26 for placing this cache.
Went through the fence and over to the little house which we were marvelled about! Got to GZ and peered in, spotting the cache on the opposite side. After a quick retrieval and sign I then heard something move in the grass inside the house...
I looked down and could see something BIG and scaly. Unsure if it was a snake or just a shingleback lizard.....
However I placed the geocache slightly on the other side so I didn't have to compromise the scaly friend's spot.... it is very close to its original hiding spot however, sorry just wanted to stay safe!

Coming out to Lake George to see another part of it. Found all caches to either have interesting containers or placed in great locations. Thanks to all the COs for bringing us to these great locations.
Out on a caching day with Joojoo57 and we finished earlier then expected so decided to give this little trail a go. Loving the containers and the scenery speaks for itself. TFTC - sorry for the generic logs.
Took a morning off sleeping to do some caching. Overcast above but comfortable out and about. Sunken my ar.....TNLNSL TFTC
What a great place! AddictedGamer and the youngest geokid preferred the house on the hill. When come to think of it would have been interesting to see inside. Love this one though, it is very fascinating and we wouldn’t have known about it if it wasn’t for this cache. Tftc!!!
Interesting place. Crazy to think it was underwater once. Beautiful day to be out. TFTC
Lucky last on this awesome little trek! Took some gymnastics and a little bravery. Managed to upset a spider and a frog!! But cache soon in hand. Loved the chance to be "walking out on the lake" Tftc! Found with the lovely minniek on the way to the Canberra CITO
Taking advantage of a public holiday, nibletricecakes and I headed out with a plan to end up at our third CITO for the weekend.
Next stop the Lake Road caches. Such a great little set of caches. We enjoyed them all.
A quick dash out to the little house. Nibletricecakes dived in to find an animal skeleton inside....hampered her search slightly but made the find she did.

Spotted cache out of reach and had to get creative to retrieve. Replaced back in its inconvenient home and left retrieval device nearby.
A mini-trail of caches along Lake Road. First time I have been on this road. I enjoyed the little house on the lake (or prairie), with chimney...although the chimney doesn't have a fireplace. Someone had a sense of humour. A favourite tick. TFTC vlex26.

Catching up on some cache logging for caches collected in January 2017. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to log them and then forgot – Sorry !! Had no problems finding the caches. Enjoyed this series very much. Thanks for the cache vlex26.
Ask me if you want to know what name I **signed the log book** transferring finds to this new caching name. Was OCW and as part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch. TFTC.
Found it . -- 5:09 PM -- SL TNLN TFTH. Thanks for bringing us here. Cache in good condition.
With a geocaching event looming I took the fam camping a week in advance at the event location. A lovely mild day was the perfect opportunity for some caching and armed with the desire to complete VC and Old Fed we made our way along the Federal Highway at an earlyish hour. As always we had a fantastic day. Managed to up my daily find best by one by finding 28 all up.
I have been so wanting to come here for a year after seeing another cachers log and some photos. Turned out today was a bit of a surprise visit for myself. That sounds a bit weird, but I didn't plan on the Lake Road series. I was quite concerned about snakes in all the long grass but we didn't encounter any .... a huge sigh of relief, especially considering the farmer we encountered said he'd come across at least a dozen during the day. I love this cache hide, so I'm giving it a fav.

This is a really fascinating location, especially when there is still water some hundred or so metres away. We replaced the logsheet with two new sheets, but given that this owner hasn't visited GC.com for over a year, I think owner maintenance is unlikely. Thanks for the hide.
#1011. After nightshift and with some days off and no caching for a week it was time for some more. Today Queanbeyan was on the radar before heading back to fill some gaps I've left previously for more caching trips.
Third time I've returned and finally could access this one but the log is very wet. Guess it will be a forth trip back to try and re sign the log. Grhhhh!!!
Lovely place though! TFTC
