As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Hi

It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,

Regards,
TheCur8or

DNF
Oh, well, I thought I will give this another go. Didn't find anything but also gave up after about 10min.

I've been calling by every now and again to have another look for this one. I was about to call it a day (again) when a dog walker came by and started chatting. It turned out she had done a bit of caching a while back, and had found this cache. We then spent a while searching together, but had no joy.

It's nearly 2 years since the last find, and there has been a string of DNFs since then. I think it's time for the CO to either visit GZ and confirm the cache is still there, or archive it.

As this is my closest unfound trad to home, every 6 months or so I usually go climb a few trees and give the yapping dogs something to do. As I didn't cache much last year due to my stroke I realized it was time to entertain the dogs again and with the leaves off the trees I thought I may be able to see something out of place. I guess I will be back again another day... like I have been with so many LGM caches in the past.... sigh!

DNF
Ha, I don't know what were I thinking when I went to look for a D4 cache in the bush at 5am! Very Happy
Did not find but now I'm intrigued! Figured out how to access the GZ without going through backyards - something at least Big GrinBig Grin

10-Sep-16
I had searched for this cache a few years ago, and again my GPSr took me to the same area - where the kid's hut has been built and which we now know is not GZ.
Despite a hint from a previous finder to narrow down where to search, we were still unable to spot the cache. No finds in 9 months is a bit of a worry. Will return when there is confirmation that the cache is still there.

07-Sep-16
Stopped by for another look today; no joy I'm afraid.

31-Aug-16
Unable to locate this one looking at allow previous loss it would suggest this needs to be looked at by its owner.

31-Aug-16
If Little G wants to check it that's great, but I suspect it's still there. From the hints I've had it'll be a bugger to find. The huts aren't likely to be near it.

31-Aug-16
This is small it is nasty less people have found it than not at the time 22 vs 30 + - it is away from den building - and its a level 4 difficulty

We rest our case LGM

23-Aug-16
Stopped by for another look; no joy again this time. Looks like some kids have been making huts out of big fronds; not sure if that has affected the hide.

08-Jul-16
We couldn't spot this one today, but on a mission so only looked for a short time.

08-Jul-16
No luck for us here today.

01-Jun-16
Another visit another failure. Not logging a DNF, though, as I was put of by a yapping K9 and them its owner starting carting timber round the back of his house. For a tree covered area it can feel quite exposed sometimes!

13-Apr-16
DNF - no luck! Will have to go back another day

28-Feb-16
No joy here today, but when it comes to LGM hides 2 out of 4 ain't bad. We hunted and searched and combed every branch with our eyes. We'll just have to come back with new eyes later. Until next time LGM Smile

28-Dec-15
A further addition to the list of DNFs. Spent 15-20 minutes looking for this one. Starting to get dark but can’t really use that as an excuse. We simply failed to locate it. May try another time. Thanks anyway.

Due to the amount of time we spend at Nunweek Park with umpiring or playing hockey, I have searched for this cache many times. I had a reasonable idea of what I was looking for but I just couldn't see it.
Back at Nunweek today and I couldn't resist another go. After a while something caught my eye as it looked not quite right. It was the cache!! So after months of cursing you LGM, I can finally say thank you for the challenge and you can have a favourite from me for the hide. TFTC.

Pleased to report on quite a quick find!

Came down to Christchurch for the 2015 MEGA with a group of caching buddies for the weekend. My first MEGA, and it was fantastic- loved every minute, the caching, the events, meeting other like-minded crazies (sorry, I mean cachers!!!). Our group found 283 caches throughout the course of the of the weekend, so apologies for the cut and paste logs- but it's going to take me hours to log them all!!!! All logs were signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew), to reflect our home caching base!
HUGE thanks to all involved in putting on the MEGA event, and also to all of the Chch CO's for the effort gone to in their hides- we found some awesome caches, including fantastic hides, and cleverly done camo.... well done Christchurch, you're an awesome bunch!

Day four of our MEGA trip, and our mission today was to find as many caches as we could before we had to get to the airport for our flight home. As there were a few caches in this park, we just had to stop on our way past.
We looked. Then we looked some more. Read some logs. And looked. Several sets of eyes just couldn't turn it up, and we were getting a little put off by the yappy dog. Then Mr NZT got a phone call from Mrs NZT, who was across the other side of the park, and started wandering around, phone to his ear, looking at nothing in particular.... well!!!! Turns out that is the way to find a very cleverly hidden cache, as his eyes just happened to land on it during the conversation. WOW!!!!! I can see why it's hard to find!!! What an AWESOME cache!!! I was very impressed.... wish I could give it more than one fave, because it is one of the most clever I've found.... a huge well done on the camo job, LittleG! Thanks for the effort gone to!

26-Oct-15
Day four and final day of our MEGA weekend and having to drop the cars off before our flight home in a few hours, so time for just a few more caches....

Signed as 'SEAC' South East Auckland Crew to save time and logbook space.
Loved this hide, and even sweater as this was one of our final caches, and is always good to end a caching session on a high...FAV point given.

TFTC.

Awesome cache. Had 4 eyes looking for it high and low. Glad we had a slightly tall bloke.

Gets fav points from me.

Part of the “South East Auckland Crew” here for the Christchurch Mega. All logs done as “SEAC”. Sorry for the Generic logs…but when logging 200 in a day it can be a bit much. But thank you so much for placing all these awesome caches

Day 4 of our epic journey from Auckland to the Christchurch MEGA. The South East Auckland Crew (SEAC) was formed for the weekend. Our last day saw us with a couple of free hours to cache on our way to the airport. We made the most of this and at times we were running between caches.

Sorry for the cut and paste logs but we would like to extend many thanks to the local CO’s for their imagination and creativity!

This one definitely had us going. I was very lucky to locate this when Mrs NZT rang me on my mobile and I just happened to look in the correct direction when I was talking to her on the phone.

An awesome little sneaky hide.

Last day of our trip to Christchurch for the mega and time to pick up a few more caches along the way to the airport.

Woohoo finished on a LittleG high rather than low!!

Thanks for the cache. Log signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)

Day 4 of the Mega. Decided to take a drive via the Cty Center to the Goldola. Stopped for a cache on the way and then up the mountain on a glorious day. Did two caches at the top of the mountain and then had lunch there and headed over to the Orana Wildlife Park. Really enjoyed it there and got to see lots of animals. Mycro Man had a ball there. Did a few more caches en route and on the way back to the airport. Thanks for a great day out. Last cache of the day and sadly a DNF.

22-Oct-15
Arrived on the early morning flight from New Plymouth for the Mega and this cache was just around the corner from where I picked up the rental car. Having grabbed Tom's Crossing nearby, enjoyed the walk through the park. Have a fairly good idea what I'm looking for. Found the den. The happy dog found me. Waved to the neighbours. Considering the Difficulty rating I even climbed high into the tree, but no joy for me today. I will come back before I drop the car back at the end of the Mega weekend.

18-Oct-15
After spending a day cruising around Christchurch grabbing mainly puzzle caches we had solved, this one spiked some interest due to the high difficulty rating.
We all jumped out keen to find this one Wink
We looked here.......there.......over..........under.........on...........in...........around.......actually we were looking everywhere and kept coming up blank!! Sad
After about 10 minutes of good hard looking the cache finally appeared Surprised
Great hide, well done especially when we thought the cache would be there and even looking there a couple of times we missed it a few times. Great fun was had on this cache - thanks LittleG Magic [^]

18-Oct-15
We looked and looked and looked. Mmnnn tricky hide.
I was on the point of giving up when it was spotted.
Phew, glad to sign that one.

18-Oct-15
This one intrigued our merry band of minstrels as it had a higher difficulty rating so we swung by to see if we could make the find and pick up some unloved at the same time.
With more eyes than a whole bunch of spiders on the job, and a lot of looking up down and all around, the cry of "Found it!" finally rang out and everybody cheered!
We all signed the log and replaced for the next victims......I mean, cachers.

Thanks LittleG Magic for the challenge.

Cheers

Find #6481

Out and about with the Aussie crew in a bit of a convoy. Final cache before heading for our accommodation for the next couple of weeks. This one took quite some time to locate, but we remained determined and with six of us searching, the cache was found eventually. Very well done.

Thanks to LittleG Magic for the cache. TNLN

This is starting to drive me nuts! I little while ago I texted a friend to confirm I should be looking for what I thought. That was confirmed and an idea of where to look was given. Sadly, I've been back twice since and STILL can't find it! I was there half an hour today Sad
TFTC Cool

First visit on a long day with Moneydork. Didn't stay long.

06-Apr-15
Have been here numerous times, we knew what we were looking for. After 10 mins of searching I heard theroamingreliever say "found it" nice wee hide tftc Smile glad it have this smiley

06-Apr-15
Been here many times for a look. Some quick due to dogs or people around. Depending on the year you get different cover by the leaves. Good cover at this time of the year. Had been given a hint at a meet up. 10mins of searching and it was spotted. Tricky as always to find a Little G Magic. Tftc

24-Mar-15
Failed to find the cache after a 30 minute search.

25-Feb-15
Even tho I didnt find the cache I did have some fun at the GZ, The little dog was getting bollocked by its owners for barking, every time he started nutting off the owners came out yelling at him as I just slid away out of sight each time lol, this went on for about 20 or so minutes until they finally took him inside, which gave me more time to look but still unsuccessfull. Smile

23-Feb-15
Well the recent addition of certain hints only served to confirm my previous thoughts. Sadly they didn't help narrow down the exact spot. I was only here 10 minutes today.

14-Feb-15
No Luck today. Dog found me okay

12-Jan-15
This is a very challenging cache with unique camo - we have added a hint . The GPS and the trees does not help the situation . Pick your time to attempt

09-Jan-15
Saw the title...an OMG moment!
Actually got to GZ undetected and generally stood still and observed. Didn't spot what I was after, before local yapper spotted me.
Decided to bail once the rest of the choir joined in!
Will return. Thanks

09-Sep-14
Almost impossible to search for this one due to the yappy dog nearby. Everytime it yapped the owner came out to see what was wrong. Gave up looking.

16-Aug-14
Squirreled around here for quite awhile but every house seems to have a small yappy dog that were getting more and more upset that I was invading their turf. So no joy.

20-Jun-14
Hmm. Three attempts, no joy. Fingers crossed I'll be like L4TB and find it on the 4th attempt!

31-May-14
Found it! Fourth time was a charm. I was in the area to pick up my gear for the race tomorrow at the airport and so decided to approach the cache this morning with determination. Arrived to find the area deserted and the windows of the nearby houses clear. But, that annoying miniature dog next door was yipping away. I waited until it settled down to irregular, but constant yips. It still took some time and I was about to give up when there it was. Smile I like the construction of the log. I will have to try something like that for mine. The cache was returned and the area vacated, leaving the annoying yipper behind. Whew. Then off to do some maintenance on my caches and one of 8ManAfter's caches. Sigh.

Cheers LittleG Magic for the cache!

14-May-14
Illusive but great place to explore, very cute home ? of squirrel

11-May-14
Passing through the area and so decided to give this one another go. My last visit had been in the dark and rain and so thought that sunlight might help. I was surprised by the established fort (even has a stone door mat) and the swing. I dont remember those. However, my attempts to locate the cache by starting out on the grass were thwarted by a yipping dog next door. Very annoying and I worried about drawing attention. So, stayed under the cover of the trees, but too many places without being able to zero in first. So, another day then.....

Following the nearby event, I revisited GZ with some cachers who had previously found this. They were quite surprised at the hut (and now a tyre swing) that have been established in the vicinity of GZ. They were able to confirm that these hadn't disturbed the cache location, and pointed me in the correct direction. It still took some time for us to (re)find it. My previous searching had focussed elsewhere, with only a quick glance at the correct spot. TFTC. Now off to return the favour and show them how to load pocket queries onto their GPS.

20-Apr-14
Thought I knew what we should be looking for, so groaned when saw GZ - so many places to look! Not surprising we didn't find it as we weren't prepared for a long search and luck wasn't on our side.

19-Apr-14
Smile

17-Apr-14
Took us a few visits to find it. While we were looking a lady came by walking her dog and asked what we were doing. While we were explaining she started helping us. It was rather embarrassing when she said "I can see it" Another of LGM's clever caches. TFTC

15-Apr-14
We hunted around for awhile but was not leaving untill it was found. After 10mins of looking Womble Terry spied the little rascal, and we signed the Squirrel's cute Log Book.TFTH

06-Apr-14
Had a wee scout about, will have to come back

06-Apr-14
Was a quick look around for our initial investigation. Will be back in time. Always felt so exposed here with houses even when the last cache was here.

06-Apr-14
Found it this time but only after a very clear hint. Very difficult with tree cover. Nice cache

03-Apr-14
Following a DNF, so still in need of a find for the day, and it was dark, I decided to give this another go, hoping that some torchlight might make it easier to find. 20 mins later I left empty handed.

30-Mar-14
Looked and looked and looked, returned to the car and re read everything available!!!! Ummm let's have a last look and take a tool. Much close investigation and there it was!!!! Celebration time. Amazed how this has lasted through the storms. Thank you. A very well constructed cache.

14-Mar-14
Attempt two, DNF two. Sad Of course that's more than likely down to the hide itself, based on other LittleG caches I've done/attempted. As it's the closest traditional cache to work I WILL persevere Smile

06-Mar-14
DNF'ed again even though the coords have been corrected since my last visit. Too many options with a poor signal under the trees.

01-Feb-14
No joy for me, and I gave it longer than usual being a LittleG cache! I just know it'll be a d'oh! moment when I do finally spot it.

31-Jan-14
@0845
Attempt number 1.
I spent about 15 mins looking around in the failing light without success.
My GPS had GZ a few metres into the neighbouring backyard.
I'll be back with a torch next time (even in daylight).

17-Jan-14
One up to Little G hes got the better of us again. Will have another try sometime. M&P

17-Jan-14
2TF....1205am.
Out and about at night getting a couple ftf on the complete opposite sides of town.
Saw TW got the ftfon this cache but thought i'd have a look anyway. Couldn't help myself Smile
Familiar area. Gps couldnt make up its mind...wandered hither and tither looking at this, looking at that. Watched some cicada grubs 'hatch' into winged beasties...Aliens anyone?
About to give up when i gave it one more go. Stood out on the grass, lined up, and paced in. Stood and looked around. Spied something....wasnt quite sure what it was by torchlight (given my Alien beasties). Got closer and with a grin had cache in hand. Nicely done guys. Cheers ears.

Crap gps signal and proximity to peoples homes makes this a bit awkward.

Saw this one pop up during work. I'm a man down at the moment so a mad dash out was not possible. We were in the area for lunch but I decided not to 'pop' over for a look after lunch as it was a LG hide. So we went back to work. I headed over after work and had GZ to myself. I remember this spot well, it took me a few attempts to find the now archived cache that was here. These coords seemed to take me to the exact spot of the archived cache too. Hmm, I looked for about 45 mins and fired a few texts to CO. Unfortunately for previous attemptee the coords were wrong. I even spent a bit of time looking in the updated coordinate area. My phone was dying and an hour had past so it was time to grab some materials for tomorrow and head home. I called Mrs TW to check our schedule and negotiated another attempt now armed with the new coords. After a bit of 'hot/cold' texts with CO. The last text from CO said it was "Still very difficult cache" and boom I spotted it. Coords were pretty good considering tree cover. I was admiring the cache, nice work LG, very nice. When I opened the log I was met with a blank log book. FTF at 5.16pm. Nice work boys, favourite from me.
Thanks for the cache.
