I was done, just finished walking up the hill to catch a bus after walking about 10km for the day. Had about 15 minutes to wait, opened app to find a cache within 20m, let's find that one too.
I'm glad this is just a simple trad. I've tried the multis and I spent an unsuccessful morning with Yvettetb on them last time I was down. I've liked exploring North Head, Mount Victoria and Fort Takapuna on several visits to this area. I appreciate all the personnel enlisted in the Services. A quick and subtle find here. Thanks for hiding it
Our first day here in NZ, still having little bit jet lag symphtons... Time after lunch we dedicated to walking. Thanks for this cache, greetings from Finland.
Upon approach, we noticed four possible GZs, and picked one each between the three of us out tonight. I was the victor, and had the cache in hand before Bapbro had even sat down. TFTC!
**#19,371**Thank you Pvt Jim and G2!Quick drive by here, while on the lookout for a morning coffee to get the brain working.
The construction fence is down and the park is now open again. However, I couldn't find the cache were I expected it to be (as a previous finder), so, it may not have survived the renovations. A replacement may be required.
This pocket park is currently undergoing renovations and is fenced off. GZ and the cache may not survive the work.
Another day in paradise, exploring a new area of Auckland. Of course it's caching time. Tftc
M24: weather's starting to get warmer, but I'd rather that than rain. Waited for the right moment to retrieve this one, signed the log, nice easy cache, all is good. TFTC.
Found this one on the way to the ferry to get back to Auckland centre, we went for the wrong bench for far too long but got there in the end!
*** Retrospectively logging finds now Lock-down has spoiled my plan for improving finds to become 10+ find days. ***
Whilst the queuing traffic did it's thing alongside me in the early morning dark, I made the find nice and quick and was on my way in no time.
When I first started working over on the North Shore, initially for 3 months, then out to 6 months, I identified this target-rich environment as being what would enable me to upgrade my finds per day from single-figure find days (there were about 20 days of 5 or more). I went out over a range of dates and physically made the find, signed the log, and noted the date on my personal note. These were reserved for finds when required, or back-dated finds if not 'required'. I'd been tracking well and improved all days desired until this week when Lock-down meant the end of finding caches and thus the 5-day on 20 Aug will be missed, as will a few others coming up, I suspect.

I knew what to look for here and there it was. The bench was covered in bird droppings so not the nicest seat, but it's still a good location. Now to take the bus home, TFTC!
Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
Mrs SoBad didn't see Private Jim but did see a cache. It was signed as INSS for the group here from Nelson. Then time to get something from the bakery before we headed on to more caches,
Thanks.
Thanks.
This is a very busy corner - in terms of traffic. Found the cache and spied the bread shop over the road so went to investigate there and came away with delicious danish pastries! TFTC # 15,946
We were in Auckland New Zealand for the second of two days on Holland America’s Amsterdam. We had a free day, so we took the ferry back over to Devonport for the day. We love that town and wanted to explore more of its little neighborhoods. So we walked about 10 miles around many of the neighborhoods – what beautiful houses – and collected 11 caches along the way.
Thank you to G-2 for 8 of these and the other COs for the other 3 caches.

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

Our for a day of caching with Mrs Tuolei and hayleyfcy - we had a great day and got lots of caches. For both of us, lots of caches seemed to have popping up like pimples all over Devonport and beyond so we had plenty of choices.
Pulled over and despatched hayleyfcy across the street to get this one and she had it in a jiffy.
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Catching the last cache before I have to head back home, nice and easy find. Crossing the road,I spotted this tiny bakery with gorgeous bread. Thanks for the cache and introducing me to the bakery!
This morning I had some spare time to go out and about finding a few caches before I had to head to the airport and home. I headed off from my hotel in the direction of Devonport and then circled back towards where I started. I'm back 5 years to the day since I last DNF'd this cache. This time I went straight to it. Nice to turn a frown to a smile TFTC, Biggles.
Relieved to find this little fellow easily after a couple of DNFs down the road. A familiar G2 construction. Tftc
On our way to spend some time around the Devonport Area today to make some finds. Gosh it can be said we don't hurry back when we have had a DNF previously, another 5 years has passed. No troubles here today at all. SL. TFTC.
Perfect timing for this lt. Got off the bus nabbed within 2 minutes. Then a bus pulls 1 minute later heading back to where I want
Well done General for looking after the grunts on the private side of things. Cache and log in good order tftc

Say hello to Jim! Geocaching on the bike in this part of Auckland. All good at GZ. TFTC
Seems like everybody is at the beach today. Passed through Narrow Neck on the way out, and this one looked like a quick stop. No problems here at all, was indeed nice and easy. Tftc
Been raining most of the afternoon which meant bc should be muggle free and that made it a quick find. TFTC.
Found during a walk to the chippy. Nicely hidden and as it is evening very quiet with no muggles. Tb visit. TFTC
We picked this one up on the way to Devonport.
No sign of Jim today, or anyone in fact as it was quite cold and very wet.
We parked nearby and made the short walk to GZ and soon had the cache in hand after initially looking in the wrong spot.
Thanks G-2 (and Jim).

Missed getting this one some years ago, so decided today was the day. Nobody around so made a nice quick find. TFTC
Out collecting some more smiley faces today and this one was on our way back so stopped off here for a bit of a rest and a nice easy find.
Having set myself a personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months. So heading up to collect a few caches around Devonport area nice and early meant leaving not to early, 5am and home by 2pm, so managed to avoid most of the peninsula traffic that is an absolute nightmare.
Great collection of caches and hides to be had, and ever grateful for the toolbox of magic tricks in the boot of the Geowagon that enabled me to collect a number of the more interesting caches. So all in all 41 successful finds today. All caches today signed "CD" to save log space.
The place was all quiet with vehicle traffic picking up but managed to make a quick find.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

Getting out for a few caches before the bad weather comes. Found after a short search. Log signed b+p. thanks for the cache
A plan was hatched to head out this way with NZ Travellers, cragger, laval and NZIceman to get some more smiles. We managed to get completely soaked through and windswept but had heaps of fun.
Oh my goodness this is FINALLY a yellow smile!!!! I have been here at least 3 or 4 visits and the cache has always eluded me. NZ Travellers took great pleasure in telling me it had been a quick find last week - how could that be???! Then I noticed the owners note with replaced cache and new coordinates - aha its not my bad caching, its been made easier.
Parked up nearby and practically strolled up straight to it today.
Thanks for the cache as frustrating as it has been - fav point to remember the adventures.

We decided to take a stroll through Devonport and find a few caches to fill in a moody Sunday afternoon. Between a few showers we found some great caches and a few hidden reserves that we would never have come across if not for caching. Luckily with the inclement weather there weren't many muggles around to disturb our geocaching efforts. Gorgeous views from several vantage points today, many thanks for bringing us here.
Another quick find on our way home. TFTC!

Last visit here brought a big man to tears! Fortunately that wasn't me! But it did bring tears to my eyes... OK... I see that's the one and the same thing! Alright... today I was a happy man... the sun is out and it's damn too hot for my liking. But what is to my liking is liking the find of this here cache here at this spot. This spot is a better spot than the last spot, but then I wouldn't know, since I never found the cache back then!
... this one on the other hand was a straightforward find on my walk starting from home in the nice weather.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
As I had some spare time tonight I decided to make the trip overseas - that is to the North Shore - to come a find a cache or two. I had looked at this area for a while now on the geo-map and thought I would pay a visit. So, under the cover of darkness, I parked as close as I could to GZ, and soon had the cache in hand. The log book has been signed and the cache is back in its spot all ready for the next finder. So thank you G-2 once again for setting up your caches. As always, I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. Nice!
Been a long time since I dnf'd this but was wandering around with Micro McArgister in the pushchair and headed back to the in-laws via Jim's corner to try to turn the frown upside down. The new container, location and hint meant this time thing went off without a hitch. Micro held the cache while I signed the log. Thanks for the cache and the sit down!
Heading down towards Devonport so stopped here to check out this place. Nice quick find of the replacement cache, TFTC
Jag50, Aiden29 and I were heading to North Head to try and finish off the multis tand saw that this one had been replaced so stopped on the way and made a nice quick find. Thanks for the replacement
After trying once before we wanted to have another crack at this one. Came out today with Aiden29 and Merlot 58 and we were heading to North Head to try and finish off the multis there we had missed previously. We saw this one had been replaced so instructed Mr Jag50 to stop and allow us to make a nice quick find.
Headed back out to North Head along with Merlot58 and Jag50. Seeing as this one had been replaced, we went to turn our frown into a smilie. Nice to make a quick find here.
Out ticking off days on our 366 Day Calendar. Found it just as the rain began. All good. Thanks again G-2.

I had stopped to look for this a few months ago but it was too busy and difficult to search. I returned today with some extra sets of eyes but that didn't help as we left empty handed
Stopped here with Aiden29 and Merlot58. Unfortunately we were unable to locate this cache today.
Had a good search with hari of harisree, but she couldn't find it and I couldn't find it so that means double trouble for us! Maybe we were just tired, it's after midnight now... sure I had the right spot though.... frustrating when it should be simple though.
Had me going for a while but after re-reading cache page had it in hand very quickly
