Looks like the area has been well combed. We certainly covered a large area and DC even fell down the dangerous bank.
Had a good poke around for ages, unfortunately not there for us today. Thanks anyway.
I met up with TheWonderStuff to complete finding the caches in Duder's Reserve. We were meant to do this last weekend, but called it off due to a forecast of torrential rain and high winds. We were so glad we postponed, as today's weather was amazing - sunshine and a nice cool breeze.
We spend considerable time searching here. The bank has partly eroded around here, so we gingerly made our way around. We even expanded our search area but still could not find the cache. There were many tree branches down around here, so not sure if cache has been blown/washed away.

Found after a search, definitely not chest height anymore, more like knee height. TFTC!
Find number 3852. My mission today was collect points for the Planetary Pursuit challenge. I had 255 and needed 230 and then attend an event tonight to reach the final. I left Hamilton at 4.30 am heading to Duders Regional Park. I got the first cache at 6.30 am and by 3.00 am I had achieved the necessary. A total of 33 caches found and 9 not found. (Well not extensively looked for) The weather was great and I had a good walk around the park. Some lovely views and some great caches. Then it was a sleep in the car for a couple of hours before heading in for the night event. Some fish n chips at GZ while I watched the sunset. Then after the event it was home to Hamilton by 10.30 pm.
I followed my GPS but had no luck. So it was back to the seat for a read of information and a rethink. Then back for another look. This time I think I got lucky and spotted it. So pleased to make the find. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.

Headed out this way today even though the weather said it was going to rain later on...had a great walk, took approx 4.5 hours, saw some amazing views, listened to the moaning kids, broke up the arguments with the kids, had some laughs oh and found some caches.
This one was the most challenging of the day! We initially thought it was on the bench so looked all around - watch out for the wasp nests - but it wasn't. Read some old logs which were a little ambiguous as to where we should be looking. Left the kids with chocolate biscuits sitting on the gate and expanded the search to the tree area. You dont have to go far in but you do have to become a mini goat and inch forward. You'll find it about waist height in a hollow - good luck!
Thanks for the cache.
Signed as Seac Mini (South East Auckland Crew - Mini for the fact there were not many of us there) to save space.

Great day out with mini team seac with princessknz and friends, almost gave up but got ya.
Went caching with the whole pirate family today. We made it to the top of the tongue of land for the first time. Grabbed some caches on the way while climbing over many fences...
This one does not seem to be hidden quite in the way it was originally intended, since the wire is terminally rusted and completely lost its purpose.
The good thing about the new hiding place is, that there is no need to get in danger and climb down the slippery steep hill or something like that, since the cache can be found about kneehigh now from a pretty comfortable position. Tftc

Well that was interesting. I tell myself as I approach GZ, 'be careful... don't put a foot wrong...' as I then go and put a foot wrong and basically ski my way down the bank. Definitely not one for the kids. However, on the brighter side I made a relatively quick find once I came back up the bank. As there was absolutely no one else around today, I took the cache back to the park bench and signed the log while taking time to appreciate the amazing scenery. I then returned the log making sure it was secure. So thank you MrRUSH742 for taking the time to set up this cache. It is very cool... and can be somewhat adventurous. Nice!
We searched for a while and had no luck but a read of the previous logs soon put us on track and we made the find. The clue suggests this is isn't is hidden quite in the way it was originally intended but we replaced it as found.
This is definitely not one for children, we had a few close calls during our search. Wouldn't want to attempt it at night.
We sat on the park bench afterwards and enjoyed the fantastic views. TFTC.

Camping the weekend with Vamber at Omana Campsite and set off to do as many of the caches at Duder Regional Park today. Just finished lunch at the point and started back towards this cache when I was stung in my side by something (couldn't see what it was) there was no sting visible but incredably painful. All of sudden Kristin also got stung on the hand...so we legged it before the little beasts got us again. Made it up the hill in some pain, paused at the top considering whether to head back to the car. Pain subsided a little so set about trying to find the cache. Nearly had to dnf this, but wasn't going to let some stings beat us, reread previous logs, switched search locations and finally had the little bugger, thanks for the cache
Wow interesting place. After zig zagging a bit I trusted the GPS which was spot on. Braced myself against the tree while I signed the log. TFTC
This was a bit tricky but found it after a few tries... pen ran out of ink so didn't note the log. Tftc though. Great fun but do need to be careful of the drop!
Decided as it was a nice day to head out to duders ranch and collect as many caches as possible before my phone battery dies (think I got about 80%?) Thank you to the cachers who had placed all of these.
I have to admit, I was worried I wouldn't find this one! the first couple of trees I'd looked in / around / up had been a failure... decided it was time to read others logs, and that gave me the clue I needed (and moving to the next tree in the line) to quickly have the cache in hand

DO NOT LET SMALL CHILDREN DO THIS CACHE - it's far too dangerous on a deadly steep drop off. Was determined to find this so didn't have to come back another time as a very long walk! Found in rather than hanging. Replaced as found. SL TFTC
Headed out here today as needed to collect a 10 point favorite for the souvenir, so along with 11HPG11 we left Hamilton bright and early (5.15am) so that we could get up here early, collect as many caches as possible so as to get back home to spend time with our respective families.
Today we covered approx 15.8kmx and still managed to be home by 2pm after clearing Duders Park. Also managed to find homes for a lot of trackables that I've had in my possession since coming back from South America.
Thank you to all the cache owners who have put these caches out and filled this little area, a good variety of caches, sizes and locations. Great walk along the foreshore which we did before doing the caches generally higher up. As to the middle of the Park (on some of the slopes there was a lot of water coming out of the hillside which necessitated the need to take a little care so that we didn't ens up back down on the foreshore.
After working our way along from parking and doing the spit it was time to start making our way around the foreshore while the tide was right. This was our thirteenth for the morning and still had seen no one else silly enough to be here this early. At first you can't find the cache, recheck the area, read the logs and have another attempt, cache soon located
Thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement.

Teamed up today with Cats&Dragons, our aim today was to tackle Duders Park and clean out the area. We didn't have much time so left Hamilton at 5.15am and made the way up to the park. All nice and quiet today at this early hour. We did around 15kms and were back home by 2pm so all in all a great morning. The weather was great too, still and calm in the early morning, some brilliant sun, a brief heavy shower and then cleared up again. We signed the logs as HOAC to save room. Thanks to all the cache owners for some great placements in a lovely area.
I stopped to have a bite of brekkie while I thought C&D had made the find. I realised he was still hunting so took the time while I was eating to read the logs and description. Spotted a helpful hint and bingo, there was the cache!

Today's the day to grab as many new caches hidden over duders park.
Wow the hardest one yet. Nearly gave up but glad to finally get the smiley. Tftc

Back in Auckland for a few days work this week. I initially though that I had a couple of hours to kill between work meetings so decided to go for a bit of a walk in this regional park to see how far I could get in the time I had. While I was walking around I got a message that my afternoon meeting had been cancelled so what was I to do? Just keep walking and caching I guess. I had a great time in the park finding a good variety of cache containers and sizes. Some clever, some easy, some hard. TFTC, Biggles.
With the wire we assume it should be hanging but it wasn't, it was in a hole. We spent a good few minutes searching for this one, probably our hardest find of the many caches we've found today. TFTC
We had to be really careful near the park bench here as the wasps were out in force. Mrs beconaze sent Mr beconaze in to do all the hard work while she took a break in the grass. It was surprisingly hot given that it was the middle of May
Stopped here for my lunch on the way back as the pa site too busy. Great views out over the harbour
Today, yorkshirekiwi83 and I headed out to Duder Regional Park for our 3rd caching visit. This time we were part of Team DD, or the Dudes and Dudettes, a large group of cachers drawn to the area by Gorbys event, morning tea and fine baking.. oh and a few caches. We spent the day wandering around the park, finding all the caches we hadn't previously found - it was a great day out. Thanks for all of the caches placed out here! DNFed this on our last visit, but found quickly by the group this time.

Found rather quickly by others in team DD. Admittedly not in the first place I would have looked.

I think this is my second find of the day.. and yes its almost my chest height.. tftc.

A large group of us set off around the regional park today, signed as DD. Over the course of the day we reduced in numbers, but had an amazing time out here, hopefully we dont have to come back too soon as I have cleared this park out twice already.
I had DNF'd this on previous occasion, but others found it really quickly, went and had a look and I have no idea how I missed it last time

A very easy find today in the expected place ! Thanks MrRUSH42 for placing by lovely views !
I had a quick 'shufti'(my dictionery challenge word ) for the cache but there were plenty of others quicker than I was to find it. I think I was too busy trying to recover from that hill climb. Nice spot!
Whew, I was very grateful that there really was a park bench to have a rest on after the slog up from the beach. I had a quick look for some 'gehlenite' (this dictionary challenge is getting challenging!) while I caught my breath as the log was being signed by the time I arrived. What a fantastic view from here.
After the huff n' puff up the hill, I took a few minutes to admire the view while others sought the cache. You can do that when you're in a big group. Took a foto too to add to the others. Signed in as Team D.D.
Part of the Dudes & Dudettes crew making our way around the park caches today - logging as DD.
When it comes to uphill climbs, I am one of the less-speedy examples, plodding along doggedly , a bit like a "sturgeon" gradually (but inevitably) battling his way upstream.
(Gosh this dictionary challenge is making for some rather different logs isn't it?).
Thanks for the cache, and the chance to make use of the park bench

Team DD, dandying around Duder!
It's a bit confusing that the cache is a bit further form the bench as I would normaly associate with "very near". But there is enough people in Team DD not to let any single DNF happen today! That's an **adornment** of such a numerous team of cachers going out, one could say.
Thanks for the cache!

Hunting geocaches around Duders today with evilno9. Took a while to find but the arrow helped in the end. TFTC
11th of 17 finds of the day with Team D+D while at 'Dudes & Dudettes Dandy Day Out' Event. We hit the hills and was a good climb up through the deep grass and prickles to get here. Was looking forward to having some help here as I had logged a dnf in the past. As I am almost always a solo geocachers it is enjoyable to have the company of this very experienced group - to say nothing of how fast you can find caches with 18 sets of eyes looking. Good to knock this one off. This is where I part company with the group as my time is nearly up for the day but I will be able to find a few more solo on my way out of the park. 3 new caches have just been published and the D&D's group splinters in the chase for FTF's.
We are following TWS around today, after arriving just behind and parking next to him. I didn't recognise him at the time, although I guessed he was a cacher as he set off alone with purpose and a GPS.
We realised he probably knew we were there too, as we found a slight hint at GZ (see photo). It should have made for a quick find, but we managed to stretch it out for far too long. Finally read back logs and got the update we needed. It was in the first place I'd looked!

Another great find while holidaying in the area. Enjoyed the walk around the area and taking in the views. A nice quick find here.

Decided today was the day to head out to Duders to collect a few in this series, with Master SethRaven (6) in tow we were trekking thru the park . . . . . . . OM goodness it is such a long TREK . . . . . . lots of wasps around this gate today so we pushed on to the point and then stopped again for this one on the way back. I thought we might have a better shot at it as it had rained and was hoping the rain would've driven the little yellow wasps away. Taking no chances (cause it's a long run to water from up here!!!) we went back thru the gate and over the fence instead. This eluded me to a while and then McTui happened along with a muggle friend and we had a bit of a chat and they went on to the point. I PAF to check exactly what I might be looking for and with the container in mind had another look and eventually found it - in the fork of the tree as it is definitely no longer attached to any wire. We had to find this one as I did not want to walk all the way out here again any time soon . . . . . my feet are sore and I am pooped! TFTC So glad I got this one today
The cache was found on the ground and I put this back between a fork in a tree. Not sure if this was the right place to put it.
Second visit for this cache and this time I came away with a find however the cache was on the ground and requires a little re-placement.
Arranged to spend the day with Team Welsh who had done some of these caches but was keen to pick up the ones missed on the last visit. We hatched a zig-zag plan to cover the park with the least amount of walking and altitude change and, armed with plenty of water and lunch, we set off. Unfortunately my GPS decided that it would spend the day impersonating a brick, so i was very pleased to peer over the shoulder of TW at her GPS. Thanks
wire attachment has rusted away, have had to wedge cache in tree fork at same height
This middle aged lady is no mountain goat so this was a challenge. GPS was bang on. Rust is impacting on the security of this cache now. Might need some maintenance. Previous finder stated log was full, so ripped of a piece of paper and added to the cache. TFTC
Great view from here! Fantastic day for a loooong walk around the area. The log book is full, sorry didn't have any extra with us. Managed to squeeze in a signature and continue on around the park. TFTC
it took some searching but finally we found th little one, it is a very hot day but we enjoyed the walk all the way to the end

Vistra and I searched for this a couple of times and had a couple of PAF's to confirm where we thought it was, but didnt find it. Which is a shame as it was the only one in the park we didnt find.
No luck for us here, despite a lengthy search and phone help from previous finders.
Arrrgghhh the agony of not finding this. Sun coming and going behind the clouds but this dnf is stopping me from completing the Duders cache loop this morning. Wiry little fella not to be found by me.
#9 of 17 caches today.
Had a rest at the bench trying to get gps to settle down spotted it while been turned around in circles. Tftc

Having visited Duders many a time, we thought we had cleared out all the caches here. This one had popped up since our last visit and today we thought it was about time we went and found it.
A nice afternoon walk out to GZ was had, not too hot but a nice cool breeze. Cache took a few minutes to find and found by miss after trusting the GPS a little more than me. Coords bang on but as others have mentioned, the logbook is chocka full. We managed to find a small space to scrawl our name and headed back the way we came. A lovely day today with awesome views in all directions. TFTC!

A quick find with the hint. Approaching the location was a bit risky as there was a magpie dive bombing everyone that walked along near the gate-be warned, as its nesting time and these birds get aggressive!
Taking a walk with the muggles through the park, came upon this gz and just couldnt see any thing that would hold a container.. let alone match the clue... we did find the steep bank and a fallen tea tree.. then further away a fence.. and a seat... and just grass.. plenty of grass... then the "can't keep the muggles waiting time" expired and we had to move on..
Superb! What a great walk is this turning out to be. Thanks for all the great caches Dude!
We had visions of something else so when our GPS pointed elsewhere we were not too surprised. Just the right height for one of us.
Out for a day trip with sympathetic muggle friends, they admired the view from the seat while I retrieved the cache. TFTC
Completing a walk around Duders Park picking up various caches as we go.
Saw this had been recorded as a DNF so were dubious as to whether this would be found. But we should never have doubted our finding abilities.
Walked straight to it, signed the log, and prepared for the trip back down (and up!) the hill!

Out here driving the Western Springs College terms to a Lactic Turkey Sustainability Challenge. Decided to rogaine the navigation points and got out here in 30 minutes from the carpark via the northern foreshore. Unfortunately, wasn't able to find the cache - found and took a photo of the wire where I think the cache should have been.
The teams did well, with a 1st and a 3rd - with the girls' team beating the boys' for the first time ever.

Nice hide. Bet it gets wet though. Made a mark on the log. Not safe for miss 3 though.
Out with jetcar19. Spotted it then lost sight as trying to get to it. Back tracked, spotted it again - this time walked slower and kept my eyes on target. soon had log signed. Great area with stunning views, thanks for bringing me to this area. TFTC
A very hot day to walk out here but once we had got half way it was too far to turn back so took advantage of the shade near this cache for some respite from the sun. TFTC
