A little detour as we make our way to Phillip Island for a night away. I just cant put my finger on it why we love this series so much. Maybe its the cache containers:)Nice quick find and clue noted. Thanks for the cache tassieexpat + geoorigamier.
I knew what to expect here so was a quick park and grab and another one for this little series. The cache was a little damp but still able to sign. Love a cemetery cache, a fave from us thank you.
After leaving the New Years Day event in Bass, this was our next find for the first of the first '24Found with +Wife and LyonsPride3. A quick find here today. My 2 1/2 yo Granddaughter was a little hesitant at first but after some reassurance she quite liked the hide.
**I just cant put my finger on it, but#2 @11.25am, 1st Jan 2024**We set off early in the direction of Bass for an afternoon event, leaving us plenty of time to cache along the way. Noticing that this is part of a series we decided to make a start on it (we ended up collecting 3 of the 5 needed today to get the numbers required for the final). This was our second find of the series, the previous one just up the road. Some people were in the cemetery paying their respects, so we decided to not linger and made a stealthy retrieval and replacement of the cache here. Thanks to the CO for the placement. Signed LetThemEatCache or LTEC and JonnyGoldcoast or JC something in-between. Cache on Note on cache: Baggy was damp as was the log. Dried out best we could.*Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Explore. Dream. Discover.* **Mark Twain**-The **Ballarat GeoTour** ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches, and earn the souvenir, before the tour is archived. Join us for the [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) on 18 February 2024.
I went for a drive around the Bass Coast today in anticipation of my event in Meeniyan tomorrow and grabbed a few noteworthy caches along the way until my car decided to cark it and I had to head all the way back home!I started at this cemetery that I think I've always noticed on the map as I've passed by but never bothered pulling off to go and visit!Having done a few in this series by this point, I knew what I was searching for, although it seems time has taken a toll on this one in particular as it's not in the best state at the moment.I signed the log as best I could before hopping back in the car where I noticed two bull ants had managed to hitch a ride back to the footwell!Thank goodness they didn't munch me and I was able to flick them out in the end. Thanks to tassieexpat for placing this one here!
We are staying at Jam Jerrup for the weekend for a friend’s 60th birthday party, dressing up in 60’s gear! The party was last night and was lots of fun! We checked out of the holiday accommodation this morning and headed back towards Corinella, stopping for a few caches on the way. This was next on the agenda. Cache was a nice easy find and clue noted. We visited the nearby farm gate market on the way back.

Tftc out with the partner in crime doing what we do best. Caching in the Dark
Heading home after a weekend exploring the area and needed to find a way to fill some time on the way - what better way than to grab some caches.
Quick find just on dark, which added some mystique to the cache location. Interesting cache container - kind of worried what else is in store for the rest of this series.....!
Thanks for the hide and for sharing your interest in cemeteries!

Found this morning while staying in the area for a square Dan e convention. Interesting cache container. TFTC
A quick pickup after attending a nearby CITO at Tenby point .. the nicely themed cache was a quick find today .. thanks drouinrooboy for placing and maintaining the cache
Checked the fence and didn’t see it. Saw the tree next to the gate and found it
Sometimes it really is in the first place you look. Found with Pheonix1111 and Geokid

Took longer to extract than find, that’s for sure! Another clue found
Decided to stay another night at Powlett River Caravan Park seeing as the weather continues to be gorgeous. I had forgotten what it feels like to be warm without 100 layers of clothing and a raincoat! And I could go geocaching!
Today my main mission was to complete the “Can’t put a finger on it series” which I started forever ago but didn’t know what I was looking for. A cute cemetery at corinella

Stopped by this one for a nice quick find at 13:00 while on the way down to Corinella for some tucker. With the logging duties done, it was time to eat, although I might give the finger food a miss.
TNLNSL noted clue and our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks tassieexpat + geoorigamier.

Braving this blustery day out hunting caches with The 4WD Shed. A nice cold stroll to find this one. TFTC

Last stop for the night on my way back to San Remo. My GPS led me astray for a minute before settling.

GZ took me to the wrong tree then searched another tree near by and then I had my finger on it.
yayyyy 10/10 find for today so far! Heading to do the trail in Corinella. Haven’t found a cache in the this series for ages. TFTC
We are staying in Grantville for a few nights as we are going to the River Garden Working Bee CITO Event on Saturday. The Geodog that broke her foot a few weeks ago needed a dressing change, so while we were out and about and had been to Wonthaggi, we checked out what caches were on the way back to the house. Nice series of Cemetery caches fit the bill perfectly. The GPS was playing funny buggers here and we were 50 meters down the fire track before it clicked in and we headed back to the correct spot. The cache was found, a little away from where the hint suggested it should be, it was signed and the cache placed so that the hint is correct. Otherwise, the cache is in great condition. Thank you, tassieexpat + geoorigamier, for this cache.
Love visiting these little old cemeteries, lots of history here that most probably wouldn’t even realise! A wander amongst the graves certainly tells a story or two. After a little wander around, we headed off to find the cache. Found after a short search. Thanks for bringing us here. SL TFTC
Looks like the cache had gone, but as it had faded last time I looked, it may well be there somewhere, hidden in the surrounding natural mess. Had a good search before replacing with a new, colourful container. Happy hunting.
Alas no luck today! Not sure is still here? Only thing we found was a ton of mossies determined to suck our blood. Essentially keeping with the theme.
Second last one of the series before searching for the final cache in wonthaggi. GPS jumping all over the place- searched in several locations as per hint and could seem to get my fingers on this cache today. Will come back another day
Someone has taken the outside container AGAIN. Will disable until I can find a replacement.
Today we found I just can't put a finger on it, but...#2 on our travels. We attended the two New Year events at Wonthaggi today. Have lost count of how many times we have missed this turn off and gone sailing by promising to do the cache “next time”...today we finally got it right!
Thanks tassieexpat for being part of our geocaching fun.

I have been slowly collecting these caches when in the area, but every time I seem to drive right past this one. However today, I thought I would make the effort to ensure I collected it. I was running right on schedule, but could afford 10 minutes.
Didn't realise how busy this Road would be, or that it had its own huge rooster as guardian. He just seemed to stroll on the road, heard the cars coming and walked into the cemetery and then back onto the road after the car past.
Cache quickly found in good condition with good GPS coordinates. Thanks for the cache tassie expat + geoori gamier

Stopped off on my way down to the George Bass Coastal Walk, Kilcunda to Punchbowl and return
We found the Kilcunda cache nearly 2.5 years ago so I figured it was about time to hunt out the rest of the clues to complete the series
Having collected the Grantville clue it was on to Corinella
The cache was quickly located but alas no clue was to be found?
Not to worry I thought, maybe it's not needed to locate the final
**Called in on my way back from the walk some 5 hours later just to be sure it wasn't a case of 'cache blindness' but alas no clue was obvious**
Many thanx to tassieexpat + geoorigamier for the cache. Will follow up re the clue via separate message

Annoying Tarbit had placed a number of temporary caches around the south east of Victoria for my birthday and we spent the day driving around to find these. There was also time to find some published caches and this was one of those. AT had already found this so it was my turn to look for it. Not sure how I missed it on my first pass!
Once I actually looked in the right place it was an easy find! No clue was to be found on the log though for the final.

Out with Bunadoorian on the way home after getting the challenge caches we hoped to get today. We thought we would have a look for this one. What a great cache - it is so fitting. Our nineth cache found today. TFTC tasdieexpat asnd geoorigamier - we will look out for the rest of this series when we are back down this way.
We are having a holiday in Phillip Island this week. Being the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, coupled with some lovely weather, made it very busy, with muggles out everywhere you went. There were many people walking and riding along the trails today.
This one took a bit more of a search but when I was about to give up, made the find under alot of folige. Replace more to where the hint indicated. Then drove away and couldn't remember the clue.... don't you hate that.
Thanks tassieexpat for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

tassieexpat, humble apologies for the false alarm . By myself, the cache was quickly found.
Found this cache 2 years ago. Visited site with a friend to show what geocaching is about. Ground cover has been cleared from cemetery fence to road and the cache is missing from where I found it. As the road has now been sealed the GX area is quite sparse.
Love this series.
This is my second find.
Camping at corinella with non caching hubby and kiddies....
Quick, turn left hubby and he did!
Happy wife happylife
Thanx for the hide

Missed this one over a year ago on way back from Phillip island. This morning had drive back after long weekend and thought I needed today to fill my grid but I think it was yesterday ! See what a relaxed long weekend does to you. Seen it was found recently and yes within 5 minutes I had my thumb on it - Thanks tassieexpat and geoorigamier for maintaining these left field caches. Think I’ve found most of these.
Many native birds: Grey butcher-bird, Crimson Rosella, Willy Wag-tail and Noisy Miner were filling the cemetery space with their songs. Perhaps I should have asked for their help because my GPSr pointed to two different places with equal assurance. After some wandering around I worked it out, as Stammily reported "not quite as per hint, but not far away". Like au.fait I couldn't find the clue I will need to find number 6 in the series. Tftc
Found it - not quite as per hint, but not far away. We did the other finger yesterday - these have been rather amusing! Thanks for the caches!
Oh, boy have these logs been on the back burner……… with the combination of a long hiatus and my phone with all my saved cache data of the ones I had yet to log being supposedly lost. With my eng/comp sci friend who managed to mess around with the phone and recover the data….. hooray time to celebrate. So that's why these logs are so late…. either thanks for the cache and the adventure….. and sorry for the generic log.
Still sending my way slowly homewards cache by cache after a fantastic few days in the general area My third now in this series. Love the containers but all 3 are devoid of the all important clues TFTC tassieexpat
I had been working in Wonthaggi most of the day and wanted to find a cache on my way home so I could "tick off the day" on a Double Calendar Challenge I am working on. My first effort at a different cache came to nothing... and this one almost did too. However just before I stomped off in frustration, I did manage to "put a finger on it" as it were and was able to sign the log!
Thanks **tassieexpat + geoorigamier** for this cache.

On my way home after a terrific weekend on the Island and I stopped for a quick drive by. Sneaky utter hide. Wasted a bit of time looking the wrong location, well where the coordinates took me. Once I got to the right location the cache stood out like a sore thumb. TFTC
I'd headed to Melbourne on the 5th May for a weekend stay to see Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Instead there was a mammoth change in my plans when the Corolla suddenly needed new brakes [xx(] which led to needing new tyres [^] which led to needing a new wheel bearing [xx(]
So a weekend turned into almost 3 full weeks and my HUGE thanks to the very patient and tolerant kmace who not only provided accommodation for myself but also for Rex [:X][:X]
Having your home invaded by a rabid geocacher who gets irritated when they have no car to go and find caches because it is in the workshop [xx(] and a pup who shreds his toys all over the house is not an easy ask for a day or two: let alone 20 odd days! [:X]
Rex also loved the beaches and the seagulls so there were many walks on the beach, some in pouring rain and gusting winds but that's what being a dog owner is about [^]
During this time some fantastic caches were found and some adventures occurred [^]
My thanks to all of the COs for the fun and the finds [^]
Today, the 14th day of the trip, was going to be my 1st ever visit to Phillip Island and in one way, it was!
I didn't get to the Grand Prix track nor to the library cache at Cowes but I guess that just gives me a reason to come back again another day and I did at least find a few caches on PI [^]
kmace, Rex and I had left her place in the morning knowing that we had to be back at a railway station in the early afternoon. That was about when things like geocaching and massive downpours happened to the time frames and suddenly it was time to leave PI to head for a train
Not before a visit to the chocolate factory though and I highly recommend their hot chilli chocolate on a cold and rainy day! [^]
The journey to and from PI provided 14 cache finds and the opportunity to start working on an EC with a few WPs to visit.
kmace had previously found this cache as she realised when we arrived
I hadn't and it made me laugh when I saw the cache hide [^]
The log was full and I had a spare so there is now a new log in the cache
Hope that was ok.

Found the " partner " to this one a few years ago. A quick find today, cache was uncovered so I hope we did the right thing by covering it. Log is very full. Thanks for a great cache.
Another great find. We love this series because we Love looking around old cemeteries. One more to go!
Had a rare free Saturday with the family overseas so I planned a day of caching on Phillip Island. The forecast 40 degree heat didn't deter me though I tried to plan caches without too much walking and of course I avoided the nearby area closed due to fire danger. Having left the island I wanted to pick up a few more on the way home. This was my 28th find of 30 for the day and just a short diversion off the freeway. I made the find without too much difficultly (or blood and guts) after a short search. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache tassieexpat+geoorigamier.
I offered up my Uncle duties to the three kids for the day but they had plans so I threw the bike in the car to head down to the rail trail series again. I didn't see many people on the trail today but even better was the lack of flies. They really got to me last time I came here.
27 cache finds and 3 dnf's.
Not bad all in all. The weather was great and the exercise was much needed.
The last find of the day. I love cemeteries. So much history, so much fun to visit at night. A quick find here. Nice container.
Thanks tassieexpat

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. I usually cache on my own but sometimes I will collect my nephew stinky bob and my brother stinky tom who both enjoy this hobby.
A big thanks goes out to all the cachers and cache owners without whom this lifestyle would not be possible.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

found it easily on a nice peaceful afternoon, our last find of a slightly disappointing day of caching with nyochi, we were hoping for maybe a few more for the day but after a few DNF's, 2 mysteriously quickly draining phone batteries and for some reason being logged out of geocaching.com every few minutes even though neither of us have ever had that happen before we just decided to call it a day and head home! Even with all of our little mishaps it was still a glorious day and a very nice day out for a drive and grabbing a few caches on the way so a very nice day in the end! TFTC!
