Well. Somebody stole the insulator and I decided to let the ants have their nest ?? thanks everyone who found it. I don't teach at Ara any more so it's a good time to let it go. ??
Not the sort of hide I had guessed at accordingly, my search took a while. lots of indications of where searchers have been looking; TFTC
Out on another morning run while down in the big smoke visiting relatives. This was find three for this morning. Followed the description and got straight to GZ but took ages to locate the container. And yes, the ants are still well in control here.
Found it! The romours of ants are no joke. Also judging by prior photos the interesting piece has been removed
Cool spot nonetheless

We came out to enjoy a walk and find a couple of caches. No one around this afternoon except for lawn being mowed on other side. We wandered across park and then started looking at all different things. Then as coming back both spotted the clever hide. The Ant colony are still guarding the cache and logbook. Hand and arm covered in them very quickly aarrgh. Log signed and replaced as found. Ants shaken off and then back to car. Thanks for this cache thunderboltnz1.
I am literally covered in ants now! On my hands my phone my clothes!!!!!!
Quick find but I broke the container, I’m sorry Tftc

New day, new month same old plan.... Get some caches in on a "brisk" ChCh morning.
That's pretty cool. Fav from me for the container... Cheers!

Great hide. Didn’t find any other little inhabitants. Had brought a brush in case after reading the log. Tftc
Teaching some muggles the ways of the game. Took a bit of searching but then we turned around and there it was! Nice hide. FP well deserved.
I read that there were ants but still didn't expect quite that many! But I brushed it on the grass and blew some ants off and only got a couple on me so I'm happy! Neat cache! Thanks!
Found our first GeoCache! Ants still residing in cache but don't mind being disturbed.

Needs maintenance. Couldn’t sign as covered in ants and all gnarly. Cool cache though. Thank you!
Fantastic cache ... overlooked by me but my mate persevered! Ants galore so didn’t open it. TFTC
Ahhh, this one again but no muggles this time. A short wander and then the ant's nest and success. Not sure those ants were over the moon about me being there but they'll live! Cheers
Got to the spot but unfortunately the lone security guard on the inside of the fence seemed to take a rather keen interest on three dudes on bikes turning up to search around. Decided to leave to another day!! Will come back and find...…….
When I arrived at the spot it looked very familiar. Must have tried this one on our last visit and forgot to log the DNF. Made it so much harder than it is. Spent at least a half hour messing about, then started to walk away, but decided to make one more pass. Don't know how I missed it, but suddenly there it was. Brushed off the ants and signed the log.
Was worried that this was always too busy a place to find, but this time 4th attempt, no one was here, apart from a grandfather and boy feeding pigeons for a while, so managed to grab cache once they left! Great cache!
Found it. Great place. Didn't open as ants have made it their home. Big nest in side.
We spent a long time looking for this cache, wandering up and down the accessible part of the three fences, before we tried a less accessible part, when we finally spotted the nicely crafted cache, just within reach. For us, the cache was a few metres south of the coordinates. TFTC
I drove around to several possible access points, but was thwarted at each one. On the Ara campus, a security guard came out and chased me away. From the railroad side, I could not spot the cache without the local ball-playing youth looking at me oddly. Anyway, lots of rubbish at GZ, so I gave it a miss.
On a big Geocachinground to get my 999th Cache, I was searching this Cache.
Fast find, but sadly full with rubbish. A CITO needs to go there

In Christchurch for the weekend with my partner and while she is doing a 2 day course I came up with her as it isvthe perfect time to log lots of caches and try to log 2000 before next year. TFTC
Found with Injeanious, we enjoyed seeing the local fireworks while finding this cache. TFTC!
We had a nice warm nighttime stroll across the park, watching the fireworks going off. We soon got to GZ and found the nice hide. We tried not to disturb the guardians of the cache... or their future offspring. Tftc.
No trouble with this one, junior cacher exclaimed "wow this is a really cool cache" when he found it. Nice one, tftc!
Thanks for this excellent well-constructed hide !
As I was on foot it took a while to walk right round from the main road ..
Worth it in the end ....
Favourite point --- thanks thunderboltznz1

Found on my second attempt. First time I was stymied by muggles inconveniently working nearby. This time quieter. Very muddy field. GZ was pointing into a fenced off area and obviously not going to attempt to climb over. So tried along the side. Checked out a few likely hides. Scratched my head, used hint and old logs. Still going nowhere. Then turned around and the penny dropped. Great container. This one gets a FP I think. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
I was going to collect a plant from a friend's place which is in a part of town I don't visit often, so I checked the map to see if there were any caches nearby. And this one was about 100m away from their place - couldn't give it a miss so I went to grab it. As I approached the GZ I was a bit unsure how to actually get closer then re-read the description again and took the only possible route. Within a few seconds I had the cache in hand and admired the container. Wow, how cool is that?

A nice quick find walked right past it but was noticed once we turned around. Tftc
Paused to read logs and just as Clurbee described it, that's how I found it too. Feel sure I had a wee laugh but no one about. Thanks for a great hide!
I was visiting a friend on a nearby street and as it was only 165 metres from her house I had to go look for it. A reasonably quick find.
Eventually decided to stop and have a look for this, after having it pop up on the car GPS many times on the way past. It was lucky, as the GPS batteries only just lasted long enough to get me there. TFTC.

No one at the field at this time.
I went back and forth around the grassy corner and started already losing hope of finding this one, but then there it was! An **iridescent** glow radiated from the container and caught my eyes, how couldn't I spot it sooner!?
Thanks for the cache!

What a cool.hiding spot....post is the operative word here....we left a wee trinket
#13099. I didn't read the description beforehand, and made hard work of getting to GZ (first I was on the wrong side of the railway line, then I found there was no access from the Ara campus). Some muggles (+ doggles) in the park probably wondered what I was up to. I didn't spot the cache right away, so headed down the fence line a bit and then spotted the nicely hidden cache. TFTC.
An interesting walk to gz, trying to keep an eye on my feet and avoid being blinded by someone being parked up a little further down the road with full beams on. Luckily by the time I made it to gz, I was slightly out of direct shot, and after fumbling around a little, the cache was located reasonably quickly. Great idea, TFTC!!
This cache was supposed to be accessible months ago but the council have taken way longer than they said they would putting drainage into the sports ground and resurfacing the field. I have been advised inside the next 6 weeks the cache will again be accessible. It's not possible to place any cache within 115m of this location anyway. This is an issue outside of my control unfortunately.
It'll be back soon.
It'll be back soon.
Very clever easy find. Been living outside the park for about six months now and never made it across to come search for it left something behind for someone to collect
We had the same difficulties as previous finders in locating a point of reasonable access. We had to have a good talking with the Nuvi (car GPS) about getting to off street locations. After giving her a street address to find as opposed to a set of coords we were much closer to finding this cache. Once within walking distance we strolled to GZ where we found something a little peculiar, a well themed cache container.

Had A LOT of trouble trying to get across the road to this one! But once crossing was achieved the cache was found. Found with Busy Paws and my best friend Frizzledough.

trickiest part was going over the busy road, found with busy paws and geo Jessie
Very inventive hide but what a hassle crossing "that" road!! TFTC. Found with the youngsters up from Oamaru.
7002. Not having done any geocaching (apart from maintenance) for well over a month, for several reasons, we decided to make the most of a spare moment this afternoon to find the nearest one to home. This was a quick and easy find. GPS bang on, and an obvious hiding place. Nice use of equipment, if a little strange! Thanks for an excellent cache. Rodney and Iris.
What a cute wee find! Very clever camo! We took our friend with us on this geocaching adventure, it was her first find. Picked up some rubbish on our way out. Thanks for this clever hide!
Wahoo; my very first geocach competed with beautiful friends (&experienced geocachers). Such fun, I'm excited for more already.
Out and about on nice winter day. Easy find. Can see CO has put some time and effort into this. Tfth
Decided to tackle my closest unfound cache this afternoon - close as the crow flies is not necessarily easily accessible which is why I haven't attempted it before. Mr4 wanted to go exploring on his bike so quiet backstreets and alleyways were ideal. Once in the right area I was a little wary as I didn't want to accidentally end up on the train tracks with a dog and a 4 yr old on a bike. Once I figured out that my phone wasn't pointing me somewhere I couldn't go I proceeded with caution (and without the dog). Mr4 decided to follow (without his bike) so I'm afraid we might have left a bit of an elephant track. Hopefully the weather will sort that out for us. My phone took me to a post at GZ but could I find anything? Not a thing. Looked up, looked down, looked unusual patterns, no luck. Hmm, it's a cloudy day so maybe I'm not really at GZ. Turned round to retrace my steps and there it was - just as described. A great little hide. A quick sign of the log as a train rumbled past and it was time to head home for tea. Unfortunately you can't argue with 4 yr old logic so we ended up taking the long way home. Tft rather neat cache.
Biked the long way home to get this after work. The area was all quiet. Love the cache. Both my parents worked in the electricity industry so the mini pylons were interesting to see. TFTC
