Given that something (I suspect a small dog) keeps knocking the cache out of reach it seems best to start afresh on this one and place something more suitable for the location. Stay tuned...

Finally managed to recover cache with an improvised tool. Contents slightly wet but the logbook was completely dry in its ziplock bag. However some of the swaps didn't escape so lightly and the cobalt chloride strip was beyond salvage. Have cleaned everything up and placed in the hot water cupboard to dry. Will return cache to hiding spot with suitable tethering mechanism in the next few days.

Checked on the cache tonight and it has tumbled out of reach again... Will retrieve in the next few days and implement some form of tether to ensure it stays put.

Looked for this one just over a year ago, but turns out it had gone missing at the time. Back in Palmy today and very pleased to find there was a cache where I thought it should be, and one well overdue for a visit. The paper today was white so I'm not sure where that fits, if at all, in the spectrum between blue and pink. The cache remains in excellent condition.

Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

A quick grab before sunset when there were less muggles nearby, unfortunately we didn’t spot any blue or pink on the indicator, enjoyed the puzzle, many thanks.

Checked on the cache this evening and swapped out the 400ml Sistema body for a 200ml one. Have plans for the larger container and it really wasn't need here. The lower height should hopefully make it less likely to tumble into the abyss... All good to.

#6214. Nice day to find the solved puzzles in Palmerston North. Enjoyed solving this a bit of a puzzle. A few people were riding their bikes (the motor kind) near GZ, but after a few more circuits, they soon left. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition. Nice and dry and blue. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

Still blue. good cache. Thanks

With a little help from son down in Christchurch this was solved, located on google maps and then a trip to the appointed place. Walked directly to where i thought it was , looked around , widened my search.. Hmmmmmm? back to where i started and had a proper look!!! Ah there it is , now the retreival! soon in hand and signed and replaced. Thank you for the cache.

Needed the guidance of a caching buddy to sort this one. Well hidden and cache nice and dry inside - certainly a blue day! TFTC

Off to palmy today for a small geocaching mission before starting work. I had solved this puzzle shortly after it had been listed. I had initially been stuck on it, but received a helpful nudge in the right direction. On the walk to the final, all I could smell was the nearby bakery, which made me hungry. Arriving at the final location, I paused and thought that there could be only one logical hidey place for this cache. Bingo. Found the cache first go. The hint made no sense to me. The cobalt chloride strip is still blue so it must be doing its job. Signed log and replaced cache as I found it. Now, to walk past that lovely aroma of freshly baked goods and trying to convince my stomach that its not hungry and that the smell is only a figment of its imagination. Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

A cunningly disguised puzzle, which we couldn't solve until markhnz put us on the right track. Then we couldn't find the cache, so retired to the nearby playground, where our grandchildren played, despite the cold wind. After reading the logs, Mrs W.E.K.A. returned and quickly found the cache, where we thought we had already looked. TFTC

I've looked at this one many times with no idea what to do, & then recently I opened up the cache page & the answer dawned on me straight away. Very relieved to get it out of the way, as it was starting to bug me.
No one around at GZ, but when we couldn't come up with the cache at what appeared to be the only likely place it could be, I started to second guess if I had the solution correct or not. However, one last look paid off & we found the cache. We were pretty nervous about how secure it was when we returned it, & would definitely recommend you follow through with the "tether" idea.

A great idea for a science fair project (probably long since finished now). A traditional cache might have been a better idea though - for more "hits" & feedback.
Paper was a light pink today.

Left a pet rock - a koala - TFTC

Unfortunately the cache wasn't there when I did a check today so I will need to see if it has fallen into the hollow again...

26-Jul-14
Recovered cache from hollow and placed back in position. Wondering if some sort of tether is needed to make the cache easier to retrieve if it does fall again...

Good news is that the moisture strip was only slightly pink and the cache was still dry inside, despite falling into a muddy patch upside down.

Not sure what went wrong, I either didn't solve the puzzle correctly or I just couldn't find the cache. Co-ords took me to a very likely spot which seemed to agree with comments made by others in their logs.

A pre-winter caching trip in and around the Gorge Roads and back via the Pahiatua Track.
A frosty start to the morning on the Sledge Track and then into some drive-bys
This was nicely hidden with accurate co-ords for a quick and easy find
Solved the missing numbers and made a quick and easy find. Had always wanted to get to 100 multis before 100 puzzles, but it's not to be, Puzzle cache number 100, a milestone
FP earned, like the puzzle challenge

Finally figured this one out, took a lot longer then expected. Paper is looking a bit pink but no sign of any water residue in the cache. It's all safe n sound. TFTC!

DNF….. Guess it still is a bit of a puzzle for us… should’ve gone to specsavers!

27-Mar-14
Found it finally, strip is still blue. Good to get this one after it wasn't there last time. Made this way harder than I should have been. Took a break from looking at it, went back to it and then saw it straight away. TFTC

The original cache has been retrieved from a hollow adjacent to the hide where it appears to have tumbled. Replaced cache in a slightly different spot that should hopefully prevent this from happening again - please replace as found.

16-Mar-14
It appears that the cache has been muggled, sorry Sad

Will replace the cache as soon as possible...

Great puzzle, I needed help to do it. Good cache. Thanks

[green] I was at the Etherlord Clan's place when Etherlord mentioned this cache, which I hadn't started on. So we pulled it up, and had it solved in a stunningly quick 5 minutes. That was some time ago. Weeks. Today was a busy day, so I decided on a close cache, and this fit the bill. Cycled over, waited a bit for a woman and her dog and made a quick find in the obvious spot.

Cobalt chloride is blue today, no surprise, really.

#352 - Took ages to solve this one, I was trying all sorts of deciphering tools and nothing was working until I figured out a critical component then it all became clear. Thanks for a different puzzle. I don't know why it took 2 visits to the final location to find this one, it shouldn't have. Cache was all dry and paper was still blue but then we haven't had much rain recently.

15-Feb-14
I had a lot of trouble solving this one. It wasn't as complicated as I was trying to make it.
It wasn't until after I worked out the approximate final location that I saw how you were supposed to solve it.
Found the cache quickly with one of the kids.
Thanks.

Out for a romantic Valentine's Day stroll in the park with EtherLady.
Oh, there's a cache here? Who knew? Razz

What a very cool science fair project! A high five from us!

This cache just randomly popped up and Tommygun9 pointed it out to me. As I was solving other puzzles that were frustrating me I thought I'd pause to attempt this one. Once at the location was a relatively straight forward find. My first FTF Big Grin
Awesome idea for using a cache as a science project too!!!

While discussing all things geocaching I moved the map over to point out my only (for now...) puzzle cache to see it was visible to me as a question mark... what a minute that's a question mark on top of (more or less) my cache.
I opened it to find more ones and zeros (appropriately) and set about using various online tools and methods to turn them into incoherent gobbledegook while Atoms7 found the actual solution. From there it was a team effort to fully decode it. Then it was a quick discussion about whether or not to go now (about a 10 second discussion) and off we went!

FTF for Atoms7 and 2ndTF for me at 2145.

Very good puzzle and hide - too dark to see the paper but I'd hope it's still good!
