Logs
We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to jpgordo for the generation of this nice cache Gunnewin Train Stop (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Sadly I think this cache was stolen so I will have to log this one as a DNF. Nevertheless, it was a nice place to stop and enjoy the scenery.
A really lovely place to stop. Some effort has gone into to making added little touches. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
Nice spot. Short drive today from Injune to Roma. So I decided to find some caches
I am in Roma to visit my sister for the week-end and to do some geocaching together. We started our (very early) morning up at Carnarvon Duffer and then headed South to Roma finding caches along the way ... and hiding 1 or 2 as well. Found after a short search. Thanks for the cache.
Quick little hide and find heading home today. Nice history, can't believe there once stood a town here Tftc
Hello Geocachers/ if you happen to find any of our hides that need replacing paper or container, would you please do so.
The J of jpgordo has dementia and I find it hard to do this.
My sincere thanks.

What an excellent little stop. Thanks for bringing me here, and thanks for the cache
It would be fun to go for a ride on one of those railway section cars

Out caching with Peppa, Davinells and Karicka. We made a quick find here. Thanks for the fun jpgordo
Enjoying a road trip to Carnarvon with Beardman75, Davinells & Karicka…
This one was such a quick find, I didn’t even see the cache… I may have been distracted by the information boards though…
Thanks jpgordo

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
An interesting location with lots of info.
I was a bit worried that this would be the third DNF. Happy that it isn't.

Really lovely what has been done here as a memorial.
Thanks for bringing us out this way

Thanks for pointing out this stop! I would of drive straight past otherwise! Joys of caching. Loved the purple flowers out!
This is a very interesting stop by the highway. We spent some time reading the information, and of course signed the log on the cache. Thanks for the cache here!
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
Today we are travelling from Roma to Carnarvon Gorge - a spot everyone says we have to visit. At the prices they charge for accommodation they better be right.
Nice to have a couple of stops along the way.
Thanks for contributing to the fun jpgordo

I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in NSW and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
It was time to leave Muckadilla and head to my next destination which is Injune.
Had to dry out and get rid of some of the mud after last nights heavy rain over night.
I left 2 very deep wheel ruts trying to get out.
So after a nice morning in Roma it was time to keep moving and as I left town the rain decided to return.
The rain decided not to ease up and it was very wet around here with plenty of water lying around.
Would have liked to have a look around and read all of the info boards but the rain changed those plans.
Thanks jpgordo TFTFC

Found today with CybergranV and Geodog Pilot, as we travelled south from Emerald.
Thanks jpgordo

Loved the Stonehenge effect here at this tiny stop.
Cache found by Crustyvarmint as we travelled south to Roma

Another interesting spot for a quick stop. Railway and local history together...bonus. It's great to have safe off the road parking. Missed cache on 1st and 2nd passes (I'll blame the lack of coffee and food). TFTC
Another brief stop and relatively easy find with the tour group on the way back to Roma airport. TFTC!
Day 22 of our road trip to north and central QLD. We left Emerald this morning and are heading south the Roma picking up caches to break up the drive.
Really interesting place to stop and have a look at. Cache found without any issue. Tftc jpgordo

After the long drive yesterday we are only going as far as Emerald today - collecting a few caches along the way as well as some ALs. Thanks to all the CO's for your hides.
It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. After an amazing drive up Canberra - Narromine - Cunnamulla - Blackall - Winton - Charters Towers - Townsville. We had a blast at the main event. Now it is time for the trip home - with the plan being chances to explore Bowen, Rockhampton, Emerald, Roma, Lightning Ridge and Dubbo. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts.
Day 4 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Long haul for us today as we head further north. Travelled from Goondiwindi, through Roma and onto Emerald: arriving well after dark. We splurged again on a cabin for our two night stay. The air conditioning is something we could get used to very easily LOL. Only collected a handful or two of caches today but ticked off a few more counties along the way.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,420. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 4 of our Townsville Trek, and our third full day on the road. This was a big day's travel but we did manage 15 caches across 4 new LGAs. After spending the night at Goondiwindi in the tents, we headed north up to Miles, west across to Roma, then the long haul north up to Emerald. We decided on a cabin in Emerald as we were to be there for 2 days. This was the next find of the day, and we enjoyed wandering looking at the area and all it's history. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks jpgordo !!

Found at 9:18 AM GAFF1.
Continuing on our journey to Townsville and we pulled over to this remote looking spot and were astounded by the amount of information and history of the area. Wonder how many of those original soldier settlements actually provided a living for the returned soldiers? I think the problem was that the blocks were too small.
Thanks jpgordo.

Hint led us to search in the right spot, but well hidden (where expected).
A great stop to reflect on the grit & sacrifices of our pioneering WWI vets - who battled overseas, at home (trying to tame the country) and their mind throughout these ordeals. I can only begin to imagine the anguish of those who had to walk away from the dedication & suffering during the prime of life if they couldn’t make “their selection” work. It’s easy to remember the sacrifices during war, but many sacrificed still more of themselves when they returned in developing the country we have today. “Lest we forget”

It just goes to show if the last person didn’t find it, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. I nearly gave up but my partner found it! Nice history in this spot! TFTC
Stopping in Roma for a couple of nights and decided to clear up a few caches in the area. The hint made for a nice quick find here. TFTC jpgordo
No trains today unfortunately, the station looked deserted. A simple, straight forward find.
On the road again today, continuing the long drive back to our home in Gippsland, we’ll over 1500 kms from here. A free over night stop at the Virgin Rocks and then this morning we are back on the road, heading to Roma. Very pleased to be able to stop and grab a few caches on our way. We appreciate the efforts of all the local CO’s in placing and mai tai ing theses caches. A sterling effort, especially for those that are so far from any towns. Thank you, without your efforts we would have nothing to find.

A long road trip to Emerald from Brisbane for 2 little turmoils, but they did really well. We were here for the geoart and anything else that we found along the way from Brisbane to Gladstone to Emerald, to Chinchilla and home. This was day 7 of lengthy days caching and driving. This cache was found on our trip from Emerald to Roma.
Thanks for giving us a reason to stop at the old train station. Great opportunity for a fun photo with no trains in sight.

Day 2 of our western trip to catch up with some maintenance in Barcaldine and plant caches in Cunnamulla before the planned QOGM in September. With the delay in escaping from Brisbane.
On the road again after a refreshing night in Roma.
2nd find today correcting a blimp on the page from a previous visit of a DNF.

Heading out to QOGM Country via Roma, Emerald and Barcaldine. We managed to escape another lockdown so show away just on dark, which made a few cache finds rather interesting.
Day two, and the first cache of the day, turning a blue DNF into a nice yellow smiley.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 9.14am on 3 July, 2021. TFTC, jpgordo.
Now on to Emerald!

# 2354 - Travelling from Brissie to probably Cooktown and back we try to pick up a few caches.
With a huge motorhome there are not many places where we can stop, but this one was very handy and worth the stop because of the history behind the building.
My muggle husband helped me looking for it, which was just as well, because he found it in the end. I must have been temporarily cache blind. It wasn't that hard.

This is a lovely memorial to the past. Quick find. Thank you for the cache jpgordo
Today we drove to Gunnewin Train Stop and replaced the cache that has been missing. Round trip over 160 k so do hope this is the last time we have to attend to this.
It is not quite in the same place and container is different. It is a painted grey mint tin and blends in well with the environment. It has a very strong magnet so it is a bit hard to extract off the hiding place.
PLEASE REPLACE THIS CACHE WHERE YOU FIND IT. Happing Caching.

It's a pity that I couldn't find it. The place is in the middle of nowhere. If the cache was under the wooden building, it could have been washed away by rainwater. A hint would have helped.
Maybe next time you are at this Gunniwin Stop it might be an idea to quench your thirst at the tank.
Very good little stop with my Muggle Mum on her first geocaching adventure. Love the info on the area.
Disappointed that we could not add this to our collection. A hint would be handy as there is plenty of places to hide things.
Have a happy new year

Day 16 of our Western trip for work and caching. Today's trip from Sapphire heading home.
Doing some maintenance and some smiles as we go.
Could not find in my wheelchair today.

Wow. Sixteen days straight caching over thousands of kilometres and this is the only one to get a DNF.
I am temporarily archiving this one until we can get out to replace it. Should be in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your patience

Looked all around under the building and tank even inside. But some how I missed it. But it is not the first time I have overlooked one of jpgordo caches. Generally get them the second time. However he has had to replace some because they were not there so maybe I was not cache blind
I dropped by Gunnewin today,
and thought I would
But no amount of searching,
found me the cache
But this is a great spot to stop,
and read all about the history of Gunnewin [^]

It’s a beautiful day, we found something.
We’ve got the bug, we can’t travel far, but it’s going big places!

Heading West to escape some of the COVID craziness going on in Brisbane at the moment. An early start was made to fit in a long day of driving to Emerald via Roma, with plenty of caching along the way.
Cool place to stop, lovely little station.
