Hunted for a while without any luck, other than a few scratches Couldn’t get a good fix from my phone gps either. Perhaps another day.

No luck finding this one today. Too hot!

Had a look around and added to the geotrails, but wasn't sure what the hint refers. I really do need to keep moving now, it will be getting dark soon, cheers

No joy here- spent long enough and need to keep moving. Sorry about this!

Searched many places. Reading other logs it appears that the hint is only helpful once the hide is found!

Out for a walk today. Hoping rain does not come.

23-Nov-21
Currently we're staying with my brother (tbird53) whilst we're on holiday, and today we walked along this escarpment. I thoroughly enjoyed it and we picked up some of the caches on the way but not all of them. Maybe next time!! TFTC and the series Smile

23-Nov-21
One of a number of caches located during the escarpment walk today on a superb November day. Already found more than half the caches along here, but this was a good chance to pick up a few more. Took a moment or two to find this one. The hint made sense once we’d located the cache! #4355. TFTC.

08-May-21
It didn't take long to find this one. Loving the light display on the ocean. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. A favourite point from me here. Not for the cache but for the experience. TFTC

01-Apr-21
Tricky hide. We found three of the hint items and eventually found the cache near a rock.

09-Feb-21
Found during a trip on the P2P track with brucewwnz

Not for the first time today, I had to thank ianL1# for finding a cache that I hadn't managed to track down on my previous hike along the track.

Another DNF, we were just short of time to spend too long here - so we pressed on.

11th find today of 21 I am hoping to locate. A few things to look under but soon had it. TFTC.

I walked the Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay escarpment walkway track this morning and ran into Red Echo who kindly permitted me to join in the hunt. We picked up two geocaches before I needed to move on. This one was a reasonably straightforward find, being on the coordinates. Thank you Yeetrees for installing and maintaining this cache.

This track just keeps getting more and more beautiful the further we go!

I was asked to join TwigNZ and ThatWeirdGuy on the Te Araroa Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay escarpment walkway today. It was a glorious day with minimal wind and we set off hopeful to find all 32 caches available on the trail.

After driving to Paekakariki then catching the train to Pukerua Bay we headed off on the trail at 9am. I was thankful to find all 32 caches (with help from the team) and finished the walk in 4 hrs 20 minutes. Logs were signed as Team STT (stardust718, TwigNZ, ThatWeirdGuy).

I found this one without too much trouble. Containers and contents were all in good condition. Log signed and replaced.

Thanks to the CO for this trail and encouraging me to get out and explore more local(ish) trails.

Found today while out with TwigNZ and Stardust718 performing maintenance. TFTC Yeetrees

31-Aug-19
It's been almost 2 years since I last walked this fantastic track. Back then my son and I managed to find 20/32 available caches on this trail, and I've been itching to have another crack at it so I could hopefully find the remaining 12.

August has been a relatively quiet month for me, and so knowing that I needed to find another 16 caches today to achieve a personal goal I set off today, aided and abetted by my son again and by Stardust718. Collectively we call ourselves Team STT, and all of todays logs have been signed as such.

We couldn't have hoped for better weather! Kapiti certainly turned it on for us today. Having previously walked this track twice in the North to South direction, today I wanted to try it the other way around so parked at Paekakariki and took the train down to Pukerua Bay in order to walk back. I anticipated it ought to take us between 4 and 5 hours to complete it, and in the end it took a little over 4 hours 20 minutes.

The last time I was here, we were pretty green in geocaching terms, with less than 200 finds to our name and in spite of a decent search we had given up and moved along. Today I was hoping that with 3 pairs of fresh eyes it should be a doddle, and in the end persistence paid off. This is why we cache as a Team, as each of us brings our own skills to the party and I am just happy to have found it, and to get rid of an ugly Blue Frown from my geocaching map.

We encountered no issues with the cache itself. The container was sound, as were the contents, so once the log was signed it was all replaced exactly as found.
Thanks to the CO for setting this series up, and encouraging me to come back to this terrific trail.

25-Aug-19
I had just decided that it was too hard to find but then spotted a likely place. TFTC

10-Aug-19
A fail for me here. On reflection, I don;t think the area that I looked in corresponded with the cache title so maybe I needed to expand the search zone.

24-Mar-19
It is there! Found @ 13.20 - typical, the wind appears to be dropping After I've been over the bridges and up the scary steps.

Found this while walking the Te Araroa track with Flowerydaze. Well it was one of two Canadians who actually found this one. We met them at this cache as cachers do looking like they were waiting for a bus to come along while waiting for the muggles to pass. Lovely day for this walk with cloudless skies and little wind. Nice hide, TFTC.

08-Feb-19
Talla64 and I have been looking forward to walking the whole of this track. When the first half of the track opened at the Paekakariki end, some years ago, we were quick to try it out and thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the top (where it ended at the time) and back to Paekakariki.

A year or so later a dozen or so caches appeared, so off we went again to find them all. Since that time the whole track has been finished and we've been waiting to complete this great walk. Today was the day, no wind, very pleasant conditions. Some of the caches were easy finds, some required quite a bit of effort. Some were DNF's and one was a DNA (did not attempt).

We were delighted to meet a couple of Canadian geocachers who were searching for this one (they found it pretty quickly while I was looking in the wrong spot).

Thanks for placing all these caches Yeetrees, I apologise for the cut and paste logs. We had a great day. Highly recommended.

What's this two DNFs in a row, am I losing my caching mojo? I had a good search around indicated GZ with no luck for 15 minutes before I sat down to read some recent logs... oh. On reading some other logs now I have access to the full list (only last 5 listed on the Garmin), I see the cache could have been 10m away. I'm sure I expanded my search area that far, but no excuses, other people have found it, but apart from the CO, not recently.

24-Nov-18
Cache is still in place

17-Nov-18
Frustrating as I had not had a DNF for awhile Sad

Gave it a good go, then checked on the previous logs, and knew it was time to leave.

Had some time to spare so decided to come and find some caches that I didn't find last time, pleased to find this one easily today, lots of walkers on the track today but none appeared while I was searching, I didn't have time to complete the full walk today, will return another time to find the last 3 or 4 I have yet to find

19-Aug-18
Check cache and logbook all good here

15-Jul-18
A year and a half ago I did the escarpment walk with the family; there were too many people to cache, and the family is too impatient to stop every 161m. I came back today, in the middle of winter and starting early (in the dark at 6am) to avoid as many other walkers as possible. I did the walk out-and-back, doing the caching on the way out; it took 3 and a half hours to get to the rail bridge. The trip back was an hour and a half with no stops, but it did include a detour round the kohekohe loop.

#15 for the day. Nice and easy. TFTC.

This was the our first time on this track today in the glorious sunshine and not so glorious humidity. Sadly didn't find this cache though we are pretty sure we were in the right spot. There were just too many options to look under and too many muggles around. Maybe next time.

Heading to Palmerston North and Rotorua to visist my two families for Christmas. Picked up a car in Upper Hutt then abandoned it in Pukerua Bay and walked here. Because you do, of course. What happened to Zig??

If course the (hint) is (hint). What else would it be? But which one? Oh, and by the way, what's with all these bits of pipe? By the way. Great views along here. I think I can see all the way to India!

Wow, the P2P trail. What a day! After parking the car at Paekakariki and walking to the start of the trail we decided to take our time, we took a little too much time though. After starting the trail at roughly 11 am we had finally gotten off of the trail by 5 pm. We had some good luck finding caches but towards the end, I think TwigNZ and I gave up on the last few.
Didn’t find this one today.

The Paekakariki Escarpment Track had been high on my 'to do' list for quite some time, ever since it opened. Back in July we tackled it for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it, although at the time we did it as part of a group of Inline Hockey kids (and parents) so we didn't attempt to do any Geocaching on that trip, but promised ourselves that we would come back and do it again as a Geo excursion.

So today was that day. Good stable weather meant that there were quite a few people on the track which made for some interesting times when trying to hunt without attracting attention from Muggles, or 'Pineapples' as was our code word for the day lol.

I have to admit, that whilst I figured the trip would take longer than the previous time, I wasn't expecting to take almost 6 hours to complete the trail. We started from the North with a hiss and a roar, hoping to have zero DNF's for the day, but we encountered a few genuine DNF's (as in we genuinely think they are missing) and towards the end we had more and more DNF's simply due to tiredness from the heat and a bit of a loss of enthusiasm, but our thanks go to Yeetrees for setting up all these Caches, even though some of the hints left us thinking “you're kidding right???” But this trail enabled us to fill in a few D/T chart 'dots' too, so thanks again.

I apologise in advance for the generic log, but there was no way I would have been able to write up each Cache as I went along, so am logging them now in bulk (sort of)

Another DNF for us this time around. Hunted around for 10 minutes or so, but came up blank. I guess there are a lot of things around here that it could have been under, but maybe we'll have better luck (or more experience) next time.

Walking southwards, the day turned out beautiful and sunny. Thanks for the caches, it was a great introduction for two new cachers I was with, and certainly inspired us to keep racing along the trail to the next one.

This series was found and logged over two weekends Smile The first round was over the labour weekend and the second round to weeks later. Some caches were easy finds, others were hidden well and I and JoshThePirate had to search for a while. Thanks for the caches along this nice walk way [^] This we could not find Sad

This series of caches has been on my hit list for the last few days but because of nasty weather it was put off until today. The idea was to catch a train from Plimmerton, where my caravan is parked, to Paekakariri but the trains weren't running so caught a replacement bus. I had a bit of a walk from the train station, where the bus dropped me off to the start of the track.

Yep, it was under one of those bushes.

Cheers for the cache.

A quick log to sort out the found its from the DNFS, more later when I get better Internet.
A trip overseas was on the cards with a long haul pencil aircraft trip of 16 minutes had me away from the Mainland for a week and a half on a course in Upper Hutt. Luckily I had a set of wheels at my disposal with big thanks to caching friend wb so I wasn't to be stranded at my digs and able to get out and make some local finds. With a whole weekend at my disposal, I decided on a two-prong attack; Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay trail on Saturday, with a couple of earthcaches thrown in and a planned trip around the headland at Porirua on the Sunday. I managed a repsectable half-century of finds on the Saturday, but the weather never played fair on Sunday so pland were amended. A great walk was had on the Saturday with fantastic views all around and a pleasant stroll which, with caching, took over 4 hours and followed up with a quick 8 minute train trip baqck to get the car. Good time caching in the area, thansk to all the COs for their placements, and therefore my enjoyment.

Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [WENZ Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/) and don't forget to log your attendance on the [WENZ Event Page](https://www.geocaching.com/…/GC78NMQ_wenz-event-2018-wellin…)

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

I will say sorry for the copy and past logs now, we were to leave home at 7.30am so we could get in an early start, turns out we mucked around so much not leaving until close to 8 earning how to use the gps unit (note to self learn and load before a big day caching) stopping for a coffee and muffin and then looking at stuff around town, and trying for a cache up a tree with no luck, so we did it in 5 hours with many stops for the views and chatting to others, and when climbing we were more than happy to wait for people to come down, I personally think it would be easier going in on the north end so you are not doing so many up hill stairs, we loved the walk, as my hiking shoes were still drying for the weekend before I wore a pair of 35.00 sneakers I brought to cover me while my other ones were drying, they did well but feet were killing me by the end, both dad and I loved the walk and all the effort you have put into the caches.

#3093. I was at the Mana Island photoshoot event this morning and meet up with Chris (Yeetrees) who said he was off to walk this track. He wanted to check up on the caches along here to see if any had been affected by the earthquakes and heavy rain in November. He asked if I wanted to join him. I wasn't sure as I had to have the car back home by 3pm. But Chris thought we would have the walk completed by lunchtime. Well that might have been a bit optimistic. I would allow 4-5 hours one way stopping to find all the caches and then catch the train back to your car. The weather was glorious and sunny today with light winds. We stopped nearby here for a lunch break and a drink admiring the views. Quite a few muggles were also resting up here. Well I searched everywhere that seemed to fit with the hint, encouraged by the CO and his suggestions. Nothing was found. So both of us searched and after 10 minutes we concluded it must have been muggled. So Yeetrees has put out a replacement cache. Signed the new logbook and placed it in a spot closest to the GZ today. Thanks for the cache.
