Seems the cache container has unfortunately since been flooded. No pencil either but still a fun lil find!
I found this cache today on a walk through Royal Park. A cute and silent little spot. Thanks from D B-A
Had fun with this one after a nearby event! It was great to go caching with ConnieandRick, Lani_B, Muzza and micaparamedic!
A group of us came over thos way to a nearby tree climb after my event this arvo and we thought we'd try and see if we could get it to work after one of us had tried and DNFed recently. We stopped for enough supplies to make it work on the way but used a more mechanical way to get to it first. Once signed, we tried to access it as intended, and all is OK. Thanks for placing and maintaining it for so long.
After attending a CITO in Coburg today, a small group including ConnieandRick, Lani_B, BlackOpal2005 and Muzza, decided to find a few in the Royal Park area. Lani_B had tried this previously but the field puzzle didn't work for her. Today with an audience, no problem. Thanks skakids for placing this Mystery Cache to enhance the game board and add to our enjoyment.
Turns out I had it wrong the last time I was here - all I needed was an audience! Explored the area again today with some new friends in ConnieandRick, Muzza, Micaparamedic and BlackOpal2005. Between us, we managed to get the cache and the field puzzle working. TFTC Skakids!
Out on Australia day, caching between two events at either end of the day. This was actually after the 2nd event and was found in the company of BlackOpal2005, LaniB, ConnieandRick and Micaparamedic. LaniB had tried unsuccessfully previously, but today we had no trouble. Thanks to skakids for the cache.

No luck today. I came prepared with my water and I found what I believed to be the contraption, but nothing floated to the top. It may or may not be working.
Nice, quick easy find always wondered where the bottom of that big cheesy stick was
I came prepared to find this cache today and was worried that i was not prepared enough and then saw something nearby that helped also. I love these types of caches and had fun with this one. Thanks for all the fun today.
Always liked this style of cache. It looked like there had been a lot of water flowing thru the area, but everything was dry today. Luckily I came prepared.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
I came prepared with the required tools so made for a quick find, retrieve and sign. Certainly is a nifty hide.
For me this has always been the Big Chip, and I used it as my target as I walked down from the netball centre, before it disappeared from view behind the sound barriers. Then I had to turn to gps. The cache still worked perfectly after 8 years in the field. Thanks skakids
Found it! Nice hide
Had to use an improvised tool as the planned mode of exit didn't work but we love the idea!

I chose April to complete *sharkiefan's* **Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge**... that's 30 Mystery caches in 30 days... and having made it to 31 on Monday, I decided to venture over to the "other side of Melbourne" to "collect my prize"... stopping on my way for this marvelous cache. I arrived with the required *special tool* tucked under my arm... and soon spotted the "mini Cheesestick". After liberal use of the *special tool* I had my hands on the cache... and the log signed.
Thanks **skakids** for this particular cache... always a bit of fun.

What it called... Corona cache! Well I live at Galada Ave there is no reason not to find this cache (and also nothing breaks the rule to get fined
Three times returns to finally get the log out. That was a bit workout with bottles of water. And crap forgot the pen! Thought there should be a pencil but none. Took a photo instead. That was a great caching time especially after quite a while trapped at home. Thanks for the cache!

This was a good one to do with some free time. All of the totts around helped but I think I took an unconventional approach to this one. TFTC

*Cache find # 10808.*
This one had been looking at me on the map for some time now but I was never close enough to have a look for it.
Today was the day that I decided that I was going to look at it so off I went.
I did have the required tool in the car with me but that was for another purpose so I went in hope that I would find some tools along the way so when I reached GZ and saw that the cache was surrounded by tools left by others, I was pleased.
I did what was needed and retrieved the float but it was no longer attached to the cache but it was a problem as I was still able to retrieve the cache and the log was signed.
**Thanks to skakids for placing this cache.**

Popped by here today. I'd recount a couple of things in this log if the CO were still active. Unfortunately he has left the game so won't be getting any enjoyment out of a well crafted long so I'll keep it brief.
Cache found, necessary TOTT used and upon extracting the log I found it almost a complete pulpy mess like the one I found yesterday .
I had a spare log and bag on me this time so I added both to the existing log and bag.

On our way home from a day trip to Macedon and had what we needed. Having visited here before and being unprepared, this was nice and quick. Thanks for the cache.
Had visited this before but didn't DNF as we found the cache just weren't prepared. On our way home from a day trip to Macedon, we realised we had what we needed with us so a quick short detour. After finding somewhere to park, the cache was re-located and extracted, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.

I had been here on a previous occasion but was totally unprepared.
Today, on the way to Geelong, armed with the required gooods, just like a rocket, it shot up in no time. Put my mark on the log before returning it safely inside.
Cheers skakids

Stopped here to assist in retrieval, having found this 5 years ago, and thinking this was a reincarnation of the original, but it WAS the original so I’m just visiting some trackables. Still a goood Time was had here.
This was one that had been on our list for the last visit but we never got to it.
This time we were over with the toolman and we parked not far from the cache and walked round with what we had and our 1st try at getting this cache, even with 3 of us doing what was needed we missed our chance to grab the cache.
So it was a walk over the road to get some more supplies, this time we had more than a few spares as it were and with a better idea of what we were doing in the dark we got it correct first time and were soon adding our names to the log.
Great cache I always find them fun.

We had planned to do this cache during the mega but never found ourselves in the right place. Tonight I guided 1toolman to the right place and we gathered the required tools of the trade. We walked to GZ and set ourselves up, toolman and stainless steel rat on each side of me and me with light. We would not grab the cache quick enough though. Ahhhh!
We went back to the car and then over to the park in search of a certain piece of hardware. We found what we needed and were soon replenished and ready for another go. The second time was a charm and we soon had the log signed. I've done a few like this and they are always a bit of fun.
Thanks skakids

This wasn't the best day we could have chosen to go caching but the decision was made and I met up with Crustyvarmint. We decided that this cache would be 1st on our list and a clever cache it was. Well made and in good nick. Just a shame it was so wet when we got there on this rainy day. TFTC.
I went out today with Bunadoorian to get some puzzle caches we had solved. Although the weather was a bit wet, we managed to find them all without becoming too drowned. tftc.

Find number 4478. Day 7 of my Melbourne trip. I called past here the other day but did not have enough of the necessary. So today I left with plenty and this was 1st of the day. I didn't need it though. Soon had the cache in hand. Returned to it hide and off I went. Thank you for the placement.
After visiting family in SA i decided i would pop over to Melbourne for the MEGA event. I had an ebike for 5 days and did so much sightseeing in between looking for caches. I have been trying to log cache finds ever since. This was a quick easy find on one of the many enjoyable days at the mega. Thanks for the cache skakids
A nice little field puzzle to almost finish the day while in the area for the weekend's Mega Event. We came well prepared and it took no time to get our hands on the cache container and add our names to the log book. Thanks skakids for the fun little cache.
Out this way with Happy pants, omegaman1971 and Di Morgan. The main objective today was to do the handbag series after doing all the puzzles. Took the opportunity to also grab anything else we came across, along the way. We saw a number of other teams and visited some nice little park areas, while completing the series. We had no DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the day. The logs where signed HHO, while we had some fun and laughs along the way.
We came equiped with what was needed to make the retrieval here, so it didn't take too long before our name was in the log.
Thanks skakids for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Thanks for the cache. A fun find.
Not only do geocachers work up a thirst here - we needed quite a bit of liquid to uncover the container and log book as well as a couple of useful TOTT’s from our supplies bag. Nice quiet location on a Sunday morning although a couple of other teams have visited already today. SL at 10.58am Left everything as found. #5825 TFTC, the challenge and a closer look at that Cheesestick skakids
Apologies for the generic log below:
Away for the weekend with Freddo and Davidwazza to the Parkville Mega.
My first mega that I had attended and I had a really enjoyable time.
Some of the log books were signed with my name others were signed with just a G part of the group name, a combination of KBJGD.
We were happily joined by KB who was a machine finding a lot of the caches.
Thanks to the CO for all the placement of caches, the earyh caches answers will be sent in the coming days also.
We were very successful in finding majority of caches but some we DNF.

Day 5 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne.
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire once in Melbourne. So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space.
Today we spent the morning walking around the mega site doing the incredible Lab caches and then decided we would walk The Capital City Trail down to the Melbourne Star. There were a couple with a bit of saddle soreness for the riding yesterday. Then after a great evening meal we headed out for some night caching. [^]
We forgot the dihydrogen monoxide, but there were still plenty of bottles of it left from previous finders to enable us to access the cache.

The first day of the Melbourne Parkville Mega event with the Godfather Freddo and gridge98, and we spent the day finding a few caches by car, learning about the SA Millicent 2020 Mega event, and then riding around the various river and rail bike trails collecting the Parkville caches. We ended the day by checking in to the Mega event, performing some lab caches, before having a nice cooked BBQ.
Freddo had asked us why we hadn't questioned all the water on the roof of his car. It never really occurred to us, but he mentioned it was because of caches like this. We swung by to see that the previous Geocachers had left us water, so we attempted to get this cache out initially, but it wasn't enough. Sigh, so we waited for Freddo to grab his water. We then had plenty, and whilst doing the little experiment and cache was near to grabbing, the annulus became narrower, and started slipping away, so gridge98 had the bright idea to aim his water bottle and consequently cache was within reach! Cool cache, Favourite Point from me, thanks!

Did you hear that there is a Mega event coming up? Did you know it is Parkville? I imagine that this cache will be INSANELY popular during the mega event, so thought we'd better have a look at it now. We've seen this concept a few times before and were well prepared. What we weren't prepared for was the location - wowser's Jeff's erection is right there isn't it! We'll have to come back and explore a bit more, I'm sure there are some terrific photo ops around here. Also near to GZ is someone's belongings along with a sign to ask people to leave them alone. I sure hope that he knows that the Mega is coming...
The cache was quickly retrieved and in surprisingly good condition. Obviously good construction on the part of the cache owner Thanks skakids!

This cache was actually our last for today, however best log it now before we forget.
We actually aimed for this; loving its “type”, and we came prepared.
At first we walked around a little not sure if what we found was actually it, but then we finally worked out how to begin. Log was soon in hand.
Thank you skakids for another well constructed cache.

Cheesestick has been teasing me for quite some time. Today I decided to bit the bullet, tackle parking and earn a smiling face. Having read the clue I came prepared.
Knowing what to expect I still had a surprise at GZ. Nicely executed cache but no water birds that I could see.

Frustrated by the effects of cabin fever, spurred on by the promise of finding a hidden creature or two for a souvenir, a plan was hatched to take on the challenge of some of the recently published caches around Parkville and Aberfeldie, before the November invasion.

Yayyy! My first mystery ... wonderful hide, but just to let you know, the log was sopping wet and destroyed..could be due to wearing of the cover. I replaced it with a long sheet of plain paper and signed, then made sure the plastic bags were sealed tight.
Thank you! It was a fun find.

I have driven past this cheese stick many times and knew this cache was always looking at me while I went past. Here with sedgwickDave after gathering info for a nearby multi we decided to have a shot at this one.
Attempt 1..... Epic fail LOL. Used something that should have done the job but came up empty.
Attempt 2..... With the help of a couple of items in the geo vehicle and a local resource we managed the extraction.
Woo hoo, that was fun.
Log sheet was damp and needs replacing.

The sun is back so it meant that it was the ideal day to get the bike out and grab a few caches. The down side of lovely sunny days is that the muggles are always out in force.
I have wanted to grab this cache for a while. I was at the end of the caching run so I visited the car to pick up the required tool and made my way to the GZ. The necessary manoeuvres were made and I soon had the cache in hand. The log is a tad brittle but I was able to make my mark. TNLN. TFTC.

Probably should have been studying for a maths test tomorrow. But decided to go for this cache. Very well thought through cache. Had me stumped the first time. But perseverance payed off and soon enough I was looking at the cache. Log was soaked (sadly I'd used up all my spares) overall good cache though.
What a cool cache!! Again Sean.75 saved the day otherwise we would've been in trouble! Lol!
Log is very damp.

We found our way to GZ without too much trouble. Jenno3 was on the ball and asked if there were any holes. Hmmm we started doing what we had to do and Sean.75's finger appeared out of nowhere!!! Luckily!!! Lol!! Tftc
We thought we had this one covered as Sean.75 was chatting on the phone. Next thing he did a swan dive and saved the day or kenare and I would of ruined everything. Thanks for the fun cache
As we got to Gz I thought the girls (kenare and jenno3) had this one covered as we have come across a few of these caches. So as I was taking a phone call, I just happened to see that the bottom of the fence was getting very wet As we had a limited amount of water, I jumped in and plugged the holes with my fingers and the cache rose to the surface. Log is damp. Tftc
I first visited a year ago but hadn't gotten around to bringing the right tool with me. Today I made a special effort, brought along my tool, promptly lost it, and had to rethink. Victory was achieved, however. One of my favourites so far. No favourite points left though.
OK, a free evening in Melbourne. What to do.... Catch-up on all these caches that have been waiting enticingly for us!
This was a nice tranquil spot just tucked away out of view. We had enough materials for just one shot at this and needed quick reflexes with only one set of hands. The new log is holding up well and we signed our names with an extra skip in our step. TFTC

Well it's finally Mad March Mystery Month for me and the count is now climbing towards at least 31 mystery caches for the month, hopefully. Solved the puzzle some time ago but I had to wait until March to go find the prize.
Now that's a CHEESESTICK! Nice little park and an easy extraction as I had my bag of tricks.

Thanks for bringing me to this rather pretty little corner of Melbourne. Came prepared and soon had the log signed and replaced......was hoping there wouldn't be any giant rats hanging around the cheese stick but all clear today. TFTC
Well done skakids, nice easy mystery, With a bit of juggling, one hand doing this the other doing that, the cache was in hand. The log was wet and falling to pieces, I added a new log and gave it a new zip lock bag. so hopefully all is good now. Thanks skakids TFTC
