Must have come in the wrong way but got there in the end. Container broken and lag damp.
The weather was so lovely sunny with trees and bushland. Accompanied with ebenie and Mr ebenie. I am glad to have ebenie due to she is more younger than me . We signed the log as EV EB. thanks for the cache and hunt.
Out today enjoying a little drive to pick up some caches in & around Mundijong & Jarrahdale... including a few out on these 4WD tracks. Noted some comments in previous logs which helped confirm how best to approach this one - and once there I was certainly glad I chose wisely! A little scramble to reach GZ proper and a quick find once there. Seems the container has been damaged for a long time but putting a fresh NM on this one as it's (still) in very poor shape. Great location though! TFTC
Came out today to clear up some caches and grab a few smileys. This cache really needs attention. The kids is broken and the contents are sopping wet. Think the termites have gotten inside. Placed cache upside down to hopefully dry it out a little. TFTC
Continuing our trek along the rail line - 8 out of 9 caches found today. Took a drive through Mundijong before turning off the road for a little 4x4ing following the old rail line. TFTC.
Unfortunately the container is broken and log too wet to wright in.

We sent the hubby/dad up the hill to find it. Was an easy find once he’d reached the top.

A scramble up the slope and cache was quickly found.
Found a day to head out with loudy16 to grab a few caches while he was in town.
Started off with a section of the Stand By Me series and then on to the Stephen King series.

I would normally say TFTC or thanks for the cache in my log. I'm not sure if i want to say thanks for today's caching adventure!!
We completed the last leg of the civilisation tribe series all bar one pesky DNF, which we really enjoyed! Love the thought that goes into these caches, and the bush serenity helps aswell.
We completed the tribes series early and then made our way to ant and gnome land.
We started well enough completing the ants series whilst collecting some of the various gnome hunter caches aswel which was a big of a bush bash even straight from the path. We finished up grabbing the serpentine vista LPN cache at the very end, a nice touch to grab a 2001 cache. After grabbing the final on the way back to the parking waypoint we decended into hell.
Not having Read the cache listing we decided on a way to best approach the series using some satellite maps and some gut feeling. Don't do this. Read the listing.
What eventuated was hours of hard slog. Up and down, under over and for the most part through. Through thick bush that two big blokes at times punched, kicked and generally bush bashed our way through.
We did the gnomes backwards basically. With a some slight deviations going straight line caching from cache to cache. Again, not recommended. Read the cache page.
About 5 hours of misery, mud, thick bushes, scratches. The last 100m to the path was bad, very bad. We didn't follow the directions. We went our own way (don't do it). It was so bad I was tempted to walk in the creek to get back to the track. The last 300m to get back to the track took nearly an hour.
Safe to say we didn't get all the gnome hunter caches, but did manage to get the guardian gnome cache.
Being suckers for punishment we decided to go and grab a couple of others on the way home as there was no way we were grabbing the remaining gnome hunter caches an a couple of APs. They will have to wait.
We picked he perfect day for it. Max of 16 degrees, good weather and good company helped us amass nearly 50 finds for the day, including several caches that hadn't been found for up to 15 months!
I'm sure firnsy is probably sitting back in NZ having a chuckle at this log. On a side note we did replace some damanged containers, added log sheets to help the maintainer.
It would leave a big hole in any WA Cachers CV ti have not completed the gnomes.
Won't be back this way until next winter as reptiles will be back out soon. Thanks for the memories.

*Out and about letting my GPS be my guide*...
A overcast but fine day to be out and about with the rain holding off most of the day but there was still plenty of water laying around from the recent rain. Parked nearby and strolled to GZ... I too enjoyed this movie and the book as I was a Stephen King fan. A favourite here for the walk and the view. Managed to grab 39 today with 2 DNF's I will be back to collect the remainder along the trail.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment shayne'o. Appreciate your effort.
Greetings from Victoria.

Miss-Placed and I came down to meet Becknmonts for one last caching adventure before she ventures further afield. We headed off from Gero finding a few geocahes along the way, we stopped at Moora for Breaky and with quite a few laughs along the trip down, we got there
Our 3rd day of geocaching we went back to finish off one of the series we didnt finish yesterday, love these series definitely getting more than 30 min of excersize, nice, sun is finally coming out, then off to do some more geocaching in ther area, Off to standby me series, now thats a series and a half, got most done, heading back out again to finish this series on sunday and then do some other caches

Deciding on having a go at this series, we set off to see what we could see.... and boy we saw some monster hills and even climbed them!! Crazily, we even went down them, we are dtill weighing up which was the most elegant, but we are deciding on neither at the moment.
With fading light we decided to down tools and head on to our accommation for the evening.... never fear, we will be back! TFTC

Gabs1963 and Miss-Placed came down to meet up with me for one last caching adventure before I venture further afield. We finished being civil to each other in the morning. So the afternoon was difficult, having to stand by each other, as well as some other caches. TFTC shayne'o
Quick find whilst we introduced our friends to 4wding. Did the series a few years ago but missed a couple so today we collect one of the few remaining caches for us in this series. Will be back to collect the rest soon. Tfth.
Another fun find with Just-Lookin while on a 3 week geocaching trip around the Perth area.
We really enjoyed the drive around finding some caches.
*Soon found.*

Holidaying in the area with tmann421, collecting some caches along the way.
First one of the day and a nice walk to GZ. This movie was one of my favourites growing up. Wish we had more time to walk along and complete more of this series. TFTC shayne'o

Out and about doing some maintenance today and with that job done I thought I'd slip the Triton into 4 low and tackle some more Stand By Me hides plus a couple of others nearby. Turned east off the SWH near the old railway bridge and headed up towards Jubb Rd. A few puddles along the track this time of year and glad the front diff was engaged on a couple of the uphill spots.
Parked up about twenty meters from GZ which was really about 40 I reckon if you add in the elevation as well. After a bit of huffing and puffing I was glad to spot the container without too much trouble. Now to get back down the slope.
shayne'o I found your cache at 12:13pm, this was the 1st of 6 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3336. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If you're attempting this on a MTB don't be tempted by the lovely downhill ride. Stay up top. Because the climb up to GZ from track below is a doozie! Great view to reward me. A well earned smiley here. TFTC.

We are finding this series more of a chore than a pleasure as the terrain is very difficult for arthritic knees. Having said that it is a really good view & at least this one is still here. TFTC
Had planned a weekend of geocaching with brother Roma308 and son. After nearly (1 DNF) completing the Procrastination Installation close by, we had our eyes on this trail. We set off early at 7am and had fun on the 4WD track close to the railway track. Thanks for bringing us out here! Tftc sl tnln
Out in the hills to chase the Stand By Me series and a couple of other caches onboard the new geo-4WD.
Most caches were easy to find, and the track was not too rough only the vegetation was a little bit overgrown here and there.
This was a steep climb... But we made it!

We integrated a few of my hobbies of today - Geocaching, 4WD and SES.
Went the shortest route for this one, and in hindsight, should have thought about it a bit more and walked along the track instead of climbing the hill... Oh well. TFTC.

Out with the SES 4wdriving, and had all the guys have a go at caching (some never even heard of it). This is a terrain 4-5 if you climb in from the track at the bottom of the hill. Starting in the middle of this series, this was Cache 1 for the day. TFTC
So I was staying with geodaughter and she got an early mark from work, said her geodogs needed exercise, and off we went, planning just to get a couple more of this series.
This was the first stop, and from the road a steep climb, which we managed a lot better up than down down.
At GZ geodaughter spotted the cache, we signed, I placed a pathtag in it, we replaced and proceeded to go down in a very undignified way.
TFTC shayne'0.

Parked the car 150m away and walked the flat line to the cache area.
An easy 2wd cache.
Thanks.

Great views from here! Thanks for bringing us to this spot. The cache was easy enough to find. TFTC
My last in this series for the day - a quick find after parking NW of here next to the track. I've missed several caches - all micros, but will return to look for them one day soon. Thanks to shane'o for the cache.
Came back today to complete the rest of this awesome series - first for the day!!
Out with Mistraluna for some exploring. Made pretty short work of this one. Thanks shayne'o
Out today with Tango, again heading bush to find a few out of the way caches. Found this one no problems.
last one for the day for us, we still have a couple more to do but will be back another day. Thanks shayne'o for a great series.
Teamed up with the Richlinks and Iluvtrekking for a day off geocaching and my girlfriend came along to even the numbers up. The heavens opened up and we still continued on our way to take on this series, with 3 DNFs and found all the others. TFTC
After dropping geo-hubby and Mr iluvtrekking and Mr JacobsCrew off to complete The Gnome Hunters series, the female halves of the teams set about doing the Stand by me series. We broke the series into three sections and had to move two cars about at different pick up spots. The rail line was negotiated easily enough but constant rain played havoc and we all ended up pretty hydrated. Only had three misses - even after returning again to recheck the spots. Thanks shayne'o
With the menfolk off Gnome Hunting the girls headed off to find some of the caches around Jarrahdale. We enjoyed this series, the walk up the rail track though was pretty heavy going in places, the heavy rain didn't help us any either. Unfortunately three of this series alluded us today. Thanks shayne'o.
#12 for the cache day. Out of order as a detour was needed for the last one but this is ez t4tc
I was out for an early morning caching run with geodog and was lucky enough to have the rain hold off while I grabbed these few caches TFTC shayne'o
Last one of the morning for us and another quick find. Thanks

Out to complete the series with my grandson Lachlan, MNS13 and her son Justintime13.
Once again we managed finding the cache the hard way.
MNS13 had no energy left after the previous climb, so I kind of volunteered. I had so much trouble getting up and was secretly happy when MNS13 let Justintime13 head up to make the find. I managed to climb only about 10m when he made the find. So turned to go back down. This is when a bullant decided to get into my shoe and started biting me. As I bent down to flick it off I lost my balance and tumbled all the way to the bottom. Did you know there are lots of prickle bushes on that hill? Its ok though, most are stuck in my back!! I certainly looked a site with sticks in my hair, grazes and bruises down my arms and leg but I did manage to hold onto my GPS all the way to the bottom.
Thanks anyway for the cache shayne'o [xx(]

Out on the trails today with Skippy46, her grandson and Justintime13 to do the STAND BY ME SERIES. We managed 19 finds and 2 DNF's, and we certainly had an adventure!
With lots of thrills and a few spills we had a pretty good adventure.
After locating the cache we were left wondering how this could have possibly earns its terrain rating, it wasn't until we drove a little further down the road that we realised we did this the really hard way. We suffered some injuries here, nothing major but i think some pride may have been lost.
We left a tag in most caches we found today, for the next finders.
Thanks for the cache Shayne'o

I grabbed the mountain bike and drove straight to Mundijong to tackle this series. I was there at 0600 and clipped into the pedals ready to go but it was still dark. Struggled a little with the first one but once it started getting light I was away. Managed to find about half of the series before my window of opportunity closed. I really enjoyed getting out on the bike, the views were awesome and the variety of caches kept me guessing. Thanks Shayne'o the roll back down the hill was a great way to finish off.
I will be back for the rest soon.

Nothing much going on today, so I took the opportunity to grab some local caches.
Well, I remember the movie, and I must admit that the train track, disused does remind me of the plot.
Nice idea for a series, did not have time today to do them all, but fun to get a few of them now,
Thanks for the cache [^]

just got back from bali with the geohubby and we decided to do this series. We took the jeep out and drove to all of them down the track next to the train line. A few of the caches were tricky to find and some involved a bit of climbing but all of them were found and we even got a FTF on one of them. TFTC shayne,o
Headed out to Jarrahdale today & we decided to take the old train line home to find these new caches... After only finding 3 caches so far along the line we were already feeling tired so tried for the drive by approach! It got a bit hair raising for a moment there, but we pulled up very close to GZ Jase made a quick find here, whilst I was having a heart attack about getting out of there TFTC shayne'o!
(chwiliwr team catch up log)
After negotiating the soft sand and eventually getting back to a sealed road after the previous cache we noticed some cachers at the other cache near the roadway and stopped for a quick conversation before heading down the track to this one. Made another quick find here.
Thanks shayne'o for the cache.

got the notification at work, as soon as it was knock off time i went from midland to the series, i started from swh and went east this was my 1st find of the series and a *FTF* i followed the service road only to find i needed to be up top on the old railway line, i reversed back and parked near the lines and walked the last few hundred meters, all the caches on this side are pretty slippery and care needs to be taken, i love having a 4x4 it comes in handy caching thanks for the series
