Thanks for the sneeky find! Spotted the likely area as I walked up and I was right, so quick find without anyone noticing us
Everything seemed genuine and we felt rather exposed, but soon found the cache. Thanks Team SKAM
#13,419. Park, walk and grab on Hobart Drive in Spotswood, New Plymouth. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. Good hide. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Out with D6NZ in New Plymouth today to collect a few Geocaches. Selected the Lagoon as a nice cluster and set out.
Having finished with the Lagoon caches we still had a bit of time to spare so we decided to round the day out with a couple of bonus extras.
Turned up on-site with a lady doing a bit of garden maintenance right near GZ so there was no hope of being stealthy. Instead, we simply decided to tell her why we were there in the hope she was aware of the geocache. Turns out no one is more aware of a geocache than the cache owner so that worked out well.
D6 homed in on the cache while I was distracted by a spotty red top, unfortunately, he discounted it fairly quickly too so we poked around a little bit until I also had a look at it and found the cache.
Good to meet you. Thanks for the hide.

No chance whatsoever to be stealthy here. No sooner did we turn up on our bikes than the local dogs all set each other off - worse than an air raid siren! The neighbours came out and grinned knowingly, so we went ahead with the search and soon had it in hand - still with the din of all the dogs out-barking each other! Clever cache, All good. TFTC
A straightforward find while staying in an Airbnb nearby. Nice hide. Thanks for placing the cache
Found with a bit of help from the neighbour who happened to be walking past . TFTC
Now that was different, always a bit weary when being around private property. A quick find and sign of the log and gone to dogs barking. TFTC
I found the nearby decoration to be very very cool! Some of the local doggos were ruining my stealthy cover with their barking
Interesting find. Felt a bit invasive however clever spot to put a cache. Put a trackable in it for the next cachers. Enjoy
I was out getting some caches in the clearing rain for today's souvenir. A little mission sort of focused around an old multi cache.
This was the first cache for today and luckily I picked the right object second. There are a few to choose from here.

Several potential items of interest at this location. We chose the correct one first, but failed to open it, so investigated other things before returning to the correct and more appropriate one and gaining access. A favourite from us. TFTC
.Stopped off here to collect the mail. Cheers. Love the toadstool here.
Day 7 - Friday 20 December. New Plymouth area today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Dropped in a path tag.
Day seven of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is New Plymouth - we got here at long last! Yes, it's been a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* 3 notebooks full of cache notes for later logging
* Lots of cache maintenance!
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

After my 3rd attempt I finally got it, I kept been drawn to another area thinking my GPS was out, another one for the Mystery at the Museum series, tftc
I spotted it straight away but the sprogs with me thought it was something else - good red herrings. Tftc!
Last one of three we located in the immediate vicinity on a pleasant walk at the end of the day. Had originally thought this one was going to be down on the walkway, but of course it isn’t. There seems to be a good “red herring” at GZ which didn’t want to yield to our efforts to open it. Then checked a different object to find the cache. #2224. TFTC.
Found with ozlad on the second try. Went down the nice walkway to go home. Tftc!
I had a quick look here a few days ago when I was cycling but no luck. Today I took my muggle hubbie with me who quickly found it... clever little cache, TFTC
Out in the pouring rain today to find a cache. When we turned up there were lots of possibilities but we soon found the right hiddey place. TFTC
As we were in town for the day it was time to gather some more smiley faces
Many thanks
Many thanks
Cameback under cover of darkness with high5zoe and a muggle friend. Very curious as to what we were looking for. Lol The find ended up being a quick find. Tftc
Not sure I can remember the last time I put a stamp on an envelope and mailed it... didn't see any prying eyes so grabbed this one and signed the log... TFTC
GPS has taken me the long way home from the Mega. Finding some good caches along the way, TFTC
Managed to get the cache with noone around but when it came to putting it back it seemed everyone on the street decided to come home. Anyway after a bit of a wait was able to return it home. TFTC
Found it. Very neat little hide! Was stumped for a bit but then trushannon had a thought..... And bingo!
Found it, thanks my cousin got the two girls to do it before Jeremy takes jorja back to bulls today x
We've been here about 6 times but always with so many people around that we haven't tried to take cache cos we didn't want to attract attention. But today we were lucky until we got to cache then a guy stopped opposite us and sat in his van. So hopefully he thought we were there for a good reason.
Found on my second attempt. A very noisy dog next to GZ decided to tell the hole neighborhood that I had arrived. I managed to whip over to the cache (after spotting it from my car) and sign the log in record time. Great hide. Tftc
In the Naki for WOMAD and found some time for geocaching of course. Parked up the road and walked to GZ where I spied something that did not look quite right so in for a look, whipped the top off and the log was in hand - TNLNSL. Always feel a bit obvious at front gate type caches but got over that pretty quickly. Thanks for the placement Team SKAM.
After much discussion about all things telecommuncational and electrical Gnome62 found this. Nice hide thanks
Finally scored this one on third visit - first there were too many muggles, then the GZ was being excavated..... today all went well, and I soon had the log signed and returned to its nifty container. TFTC
Found while hunting caches with Just-Lookin
Soon had the container located.
SL Thanks for the fun!

Had tried for this one a few months back, but there was a muggle standing at GZ so we didn't stop. No one around today.
I have to admit, poking around someones property always makes us nervous - especially as it's so close to other people's places.
Had a pretty good idea where to look having seen this type of hide before but was a bit hesitant to try it initially, just in case we were wrong, but didn't want to hang around too long so took the plunge & was pleased to find we were right. TFTC Team SKAM

Enjoyed finding this one. You could say hand delivered as I had to turn up in person to sign the log. TFTC

Hadn't done any caches today, so popped out the grab a couple before going to Countdown. Had to wait for a next door muggle to come out of their driveway....possibly cache owner? Upon approach there were a couple of options, but one stuck out more....clever hide, tftc
On our way to the Taranaki for a few nights.
A nice cache in a nice spot
Tftc

Hi all Just down for a little while as Ultra Fast Fibre has accidentally removed it
Have seen one of these before (ages ago). Pretty convincing. Found while spending a couple of days in New Plymouth. TFTC.
Second time looking for this little sucker. Obvious when you think outside the square
We had been out for a movie and dinner, and as we had picked up a cache on the way out we decided to get one on the way home as well, to balance things up.
We were pretty much unprepared for this one, but managed to locate it in the dark and extract the log with the aid of a safety pin. A bit of a tight squeeze rolling it up again, but managed it in the end.
A very clever hide; I wouldn't have thought of using one of those as a container. Thanks for the cache.

An early set off this morning from home as have to set up for an industry conference in New Plymouth which would allow me to see a few customers, set up the stand and collect a few caches.
A nice and quick find following a nearby cache, not quite sure when I last received a piece of "real" mail that wasn't a bill
Thanks for the placement

Wonder how much longer mail will be delivered to places like this!! Took longer to put log back in than it did to find it SL TFTC
