07-Jun-24
Every now and then I look back on cahes that I have added an OAR log to see if any action has been taken - If there has - all goodIf not I consider an RAR as this often has the desired effectNo logsheet - no response from CO following the OAR which was over 4 months ago - so adding RAR

21-Apr-24
Miss 4 year old was invited to her first ever birthday party in NZ, which took place in the play centre. The locals told us the view from the top is a must so up we went. We had a feeling there would be a cache and of course there was quickly found but no log to sign and sorry we had none at hand as we didn't plan to go caching at all. Beautiful views from here! TFTC

Leaving North Island today - this cache was the closest to where we were staying ( 200 ft ) so we took a short stroll over to GZ where a quickish find was made. Nicely crafted container but no logsheet ! Noted previous finder mentioned this too but no OAR log added ??Signature fashioned and photo taken and OAR added this time TFTCTim and Viv - ddm

Good hiding!

03-Sep-23
Fun find! Stumped us at first but we enjoyed the various places to play before we ended up following the GPS points! Didn't take too long.

Missing log book though!

27-Aug-23
We were hanging out with friends

06-Aug-23
Off about 3 to 4m on the gps

Awesome hiding spot, clever

26-May-23
This is the last cache the seagnoid and I are finding tonight (we had tried to be the FTFs for GCA8Z1R) as my muggle friends are waiting for me to turn up for dinner. Another lovely walk through the bush with a wee bit of concern as the previous log was a DNF. The seagnoid was using my head torch and spotted the cache first. Favourite given for the camouflage, or perhaps that should be ‘for the way in which the cache was hidden.’ I like that way.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache DarrenKeri.

23-Apr-23
A nice dry Sunday afternoon, and time to go with GB Leader to boost my numbers for the Wheel of Challenges. This was the third of 3 DNF’s. Searched for 15 mins but no sign of a cache. Is it a hanging bison? A painted rock & a cicada casing our only finds.

27-Mar-23
Love this spot. My son and I didn’t have to much trouble with this one.

04-Dec-22
It was easy because it sticks out so needs to be changed

11-Oct-22
Could not find anything here.

09-Oct-22
Found it! Very cool cache. Will log fully soon.

01-Sep-22
Had this one in my sights while visiting the Wellington area because of its favourite status. Approached via the Playcentre driveway and shot past GZ unintentionally and up to the lookout before retracing the route back to the cache. A work of art indeed. SL and replaced carefully. A favourite - Thanks.

14-Aug-22
Nice quick find. I came up the Playcentre driveway then it was a surprisingly short walk to GZ. Accurate coordinates led me straight to the hide. I've been here geocaching once before but I didn't get this one - not sure why not. Did I run out of time? Wasit missing at the time? Did I have a quick search but give up and didn't log a DNF? I can't remember. Never mind, I got it ticked off today!

05-Aug-22
Out and about with Flowerydaze in an area we were not familiar with but what a lovely area. The second entrance by the Kindy was chained off so the only way in to the reserve was from Poto road. Great cache with good coords, TFTC DarrenKeri FP awarded for good camo.

05-Aug-22
Talla64 and I are down from Kapiti on a bit of a caching expedition. For this one, we parked the car in Poto Road where we'd spotted the Poto Reserve sign, and walked up the path. An amusing container, co-ords are good so it was a quick find. All in order here, thanks very much for the cache DarrenKeri, and for bringing us to an area we have not been before.

11-Jul-22
The playground has nothing to do with it. Stumped me for a while. Stump. Stump

09-May-22
Quick find today on an empty log sheet. Thanks for the new log book. Cache couldn't be hidden completely but ok.
Things have changed since the first placement with no fireman's pole on the play structure now. And the view changing - see my photo from 2020. Now new ugly houses in the way.!@!

01-Feb-22
It's 7pm, and time to pop out and grab my cache for the day. Where should I go? There's a disabled puzzle not far from here that I have solved co-ords for, I wonder if it's still there?

The Seagnoid and I head out as he wants to find a cache for today too. We eventually found a way into this unassuming little reserve, and I'm glad we did as it seems to be a veritable maze of pathways. Luckily the co-ords were very accurate for me, and the cache was a quick find here.

Nice container! I've just had a road trip that cost me a fortune in FP's, but I feel this one deserves it so there goes another one!

01-Feb-22
TwigNZ and I are heading off yet again, for today's cache. Decided to pick one up the top of the hills because, frankly, cycling up them is a bit of a bugger. This one. Drove around a bit lamenting the lake of trailhead coordinates. Once we found them finding the cache was easy. Interesting reserve! I was surprised at the number of tracks here, and alas had not read the cache page before we left, so never found the play structure at the top (something that is usually reserved for grass reserves). And I like how the cache was mounted - the sleeve is brilliant and solves a major problems that I have often encountered before. Well done.

Re the trail head - I have now edited the maps, if you use the right map the updates are available already. If you use the geocaching app, note that they collect the maps on a periodic basis, so it might be a few months before the updates show on their maps.

28-Jan-21
Cool hiding spot

25-Jan-21
A little hard to find, but eventually we found it BEHIND A STUMP. After we found it, the clue made more sense.

29-Oct-20
Great views from the lookout after an elite ride from petone. But no luck with the cache.

30-Sep-20
Had a good look but it was hiding from me today.

30-Aug-20
A nice Sunday afternoon walk with the fur monsters. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache

28-Jul-19
Cool little hide

14-Jul-19
DaVinciHunter found this cleverly disguised cache. Got a ‘ruby’ clue for the Mystery at the Museum. TFTC.

14-Jul-19
TFTC a neat hide which was found at the coords quickly with the hint. Needs maintenance by way of a screwdriver and some superglue as initially I thought I had found an object, but upon removal had no cache but then noticed an unusual fixing and then looked back at where I had retrieved from. Also collected my first ruby in the final stage of mystery at the museum

15-Apr-19
Found! And being the stupid being I am, I forgot a pen.

19-Jan-19
Bah!

GPS suggests it’s in middle of dense prickly vegetation although we suspect it’s really in the seating area. Still couldn’t find it though.

27-Dec-18
Very cool, nice to find an imaginative one!

07-Oct-18
No

12-Aug-18
Found but canister empty we will come back and put a note book in it

08-Apr-18
Took a round about way to the cache. There was an event on at the kindergarten and not having read the cache page properly, we took off cross country rather than risk coming across a lot of muggles. Later we realised we need not have worried. After trying out a few possibilities, we uncovered the cache. TFTC

12-Feb-18
Took a bit of searching however back in the car within 10 minutes. A tricky hide which is well created. Earns a Favourite Point

all good at GZ - log dry, plenty of space l ft for others.

Thanks for another smilie and my cache of the day.

Did you know that planning has started for a major Event in the Wellington region in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event’s page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/). The official cache page is now live [GC78NMQ - WENZ Event 2018](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC78NMQ_wenz-event-2018-wellington). If you are planning to attend, please ensure you let us know through this page.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code. .

#192 love the cache receptacle! Followed my gps on phone then at 1m mark took 1 step in each direction until I spotted suitable destination slightly concealed in the bush. Another cache towards the Mary Hyde challenge TFTC

30-May-17
In the area this afternoon and had an explore of this little reserve. Like others left wondering where this could be but a bit more poking and prodding and hide revealed. Very clever. Thanks for the great hide and thanks for the cache.

16-Apr-17
Mrs Sobad decided this was a bit far to walk to yesterday afternoon. Still too far this afternoon, but her sister was keen to see where this was so we drove to an entrance. Wandered up the track to find a cache, then on to enjoy the view. Both were worth the visit.
Thanks.

25-Mar-17
It turned out the coords for this were spot on for me. I got to GZ+0 and thought "is this right?" and "what am I looking for?". As there is essentially no hint to confirm anything (well there is a very subtle clue that makes sense in retrospect) I looked around a bit elsewhere first, waited out a few muggles, checked out the view from the nearby bench before returning for a rethink. After more careful examination where the GPS lead me in the first place I thought something looked a bit suspicious but brilliantly camouflaged. Success! I haven't found a really good hide for a little while now so this made my day. Thanks for the creative hide. +FP. I couldn't see where the most recent log entry was so I signed after gasbottle.

20-Jan-17
I arrived at GZ but not much to see. Taking the hint to heart I poked around a bit, found an intesting item, looked a bit further and bingo!
A nicely constructed hide.
TFTC.

12-Jan-17
My second target of the day to keep the numbers ticking towards the Baker's Dozen Challenge. This proved to be an easier find than I'd expected, and surprisingly so given the nicely constructed hide.

On the way up here I passed an odd little stage with bench seating arranged around. There was but one audience member (see photo), but no sign of a performance in preparation.

TFTC, and an FP for the nice hide.

20-Mar-16
Another one bites the dust! Awesome creativity with this little gem

26-Feb-16
Stopped off to find this cache before dropping off the dogs at the kennels nearby. A great hide in a great little reserve. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC

16-Feb-16
Parked up by the Playcentre as we couldn't find another entrance. Luckily someone was there and we weren't too long as they were about to lock up the chain gate just as we got back to the car. GPS spot on but still took a short time to locate the cache. tftc

07-Feb-16
Our first cache - amazing hiding place!! TFTC

30-May-15
Gps led us right there. Great container.

30-May-15
Nearly had me stumped

20-May-15
The GPS directed me off the main road at Korokoro and had driving the the long way round to Normandale! However I spotted this cache on the way, so stopped and went for a wee stoll to the GZ. The only trouble I had with it was opening it. Its preet stubben, but I got there in the end. The log is a wee bit damp, but the waterproof paper is still standing up to the task. TFTC
