This was the closest cache to where I was staying. I read the logs and saw that it had actually been replaced, so I took a detour on my walk onto Oneroa. I found the cache easily between passing walkers as it was out in the open. I re-hid it somewhat better. Thanks for the cache.

I'm over on the island for a long weekend with my 'bookclub' friends, celebrating a coming of gold card age with a free ferry ride for some.
I read the past logs so realised this had been replaced. Finally got a chance to go for a really pleasant walk with one other. We followed the high path, the tide not being low enough to stick to the shoreline.
I started by searching the wrong tree as I couldn't get a close bearing on where it was- being disabled, it wouldn't show on the app, so I just went off the info on geocaching.com.
Once I thought about it a little more and opened my eyes it still took a bit of searching before I spotted something that did not look like the others and I knew my dot day was no more. A quick sign, left a smilie and we were off again to get a drink at the store.

had a wee lookie, but no luck. Team Welsh had been in touch with owner and with permisson the new cache was signed then replaced. Beautiful spot to visit thanks.

Out on Waiheke Island for the day with chosen1978, Butchie Bum and us. Once we had the rental car it was off to conquer an island. Contacted the CO prior to visiting the island and we were given permission to replace this cache, albeit temporarily until she returns from London. The cache is now an eclipse tin, hidden on high ground among the roots and covered by a rock. Thanks for allowing us to replace this.

This was cache replaced with permission from CO, Logged find with Mrs Team Welsh and Butchie Bum, Lovely views across the bay. My 2000th find, thanks

Have had to disable until I can get out to Waiheke to check if the cache is still there. Currently based in London and will be out there in January.

We couldn't find it either. Can the owner please confirm cache is still there?

26-Oct-14
We could not find, presume it has been muggled? Great spot though.

But we did encounter other keen geocachers. We left. See you on the trail.

After much searching, didn't find it.

Out for a day on Waiheke with Me-N-R-Lass. CO might like to check this one. A very thorough search of the tree yielded nothing and the very obvious choices of hidey holes were bereft of a cache.

Stunning tree. Worthwhile the climb. However, even with very specific remote support of Alpenmilch80 we couldn't find it. Good reason to come back once the cache is confirmed.

Whole family looked for 45 mins. Another geocaching family after us had no luck either. Possibly muggled. Beautiful trail though.

Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz

The walk down was easy, it was the return journey that was a challenge! Approached GZ, so many choices, but the cache did not stay hidden for long. Explored the nearby bay, clambering on the rocky shore. Water is flat calm, hard to believe its still winter! (did not test the water - bet its freezing) Again thanks for the hide.

Big find today no# 900 Another beautiful place to come and visit. Was suprised by the stones on the beach but loved the cove. Another amazing Pohutakawa tree. Not so keen about the stairs back to where the car is parked, but its a perfect day for exploring. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here. Big Grin

Decided very spontaneous on Saturday evening to head out on Sunday to Waiheke Island. Turned out I selected a perfect sunny day to explore the Island. So many options to hide a geocache. Enjoyed climbing the tree till I found the geocache. TFTC
