On a stroll from the Parthenon to the Museum we were walking close to this cache so took a detour to this quiet spot to find an interesting cache.

We visited Akropolis today. It was a beautiful and sunny day in Athens. We spent the first hour with a guide and the next hours we enjoyed the history and scenery by ourselves.

Find #3000. While we were taking a tour of the Acropolis I had this cache on my bucket list. It was a great area, just can’t put into words how spectacular the Acropolis is. The container was a special one as well and it’s easy to give this a favorite point. A bonus was picking up a TB as well. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Today was our first day in Athens. And this was our first cache in Greece. At the location we met a lady from Finland. The cache was easy to find and at a beautiful location.

February holidays in Athens with Alinternet

During this winter month, we enjoyed with Alinternet 3.5 days in Athens. We had some trouble with our plane for coming, but finally we managed it late on saturday evening! All along this journey, we walked a lot, but we also tasted a lot of good wines and succuluent greek plates.

On sunday weather was beautiful, so we had great time visiting the Acropolis and the Philopappos Hill. As it was the day before *Pur Monday*, the place was very busy with people playing with kites or simply strolling. We also walked in the streets on the other side of the hill to visit some Aesop's fable mysteries I solved.

After watching a turtle bathing in the sun, we found this nice cache without being seen by any muggles. That was very pleasant, so I add one favorite point.

4 days weekend in Athens with Astrancia

To make a small break, we chose to travel to Greece to visit Athens. We hadn't lot of goals here. Just taking good time, visiting museums and visit a few geocaches.

We traveled from Geneva to Athens on Saturday... it was difficult because or direct flight was cancelled at the very last moment. We took some other flights via Frankfurt and arrived 6 hours later.

Sunday we visited the Acropolis, the Filopappou Hill and some mysteries caches solved by Astrancia.

Monday we walked to the National Garden and back to our hotel. We had lunch in a very good restaurant in Anafiotika.

Tuesday we spent some time in the very interesting National Museum of Archelogy and then walked to the summit of Mount Lycabettus and back via the old olympic stadium.

Finally wednesday we visited Pireus harbour before heading back home... with a direct and ontime flight !

This cache is one of the best in Athens. I like the well placed hidden spot... and the turtle close to the cache !

A 4-day prolonged weekend in Athens to escape the cold, rain and snow back home . A perfect idea. We flew in on Saturday and spent 3 nights in Plaka, mostly exploring the city by walking - and we did a lot of that . We saw a lot of old ruins, small streets, ate great food and best of all, had sunshine almost all the time. We were even able to eat outside every evening [^]. We also visited the national museum of archeology, which was very impressive - definitely worth a visit. The density of caches is lower than we're used to, and quite some of them were deactivated when we were there, but still we found a lot of them and many showed us areas outside of any guide books, but very well worth visiting. On Tuesday we left - and took a bit of the sun back home with us .

This cache has quite a nice camouflage (almost the only one hidden like that here). We found it within a lot of olive trees and then continued up tp the Odeon. Impressive sight.

Just before we walk to this cache we ran into another geocacher. We swap TB's and have a short conversation. There is a small language handicap, but we managed. Together we walk up to this cache and pick it up. The "old" TB out and a New one in. A great historical place. Takk!

Notre troisième jour dans Athènes, la capitale de la Grèce.
Ce matin après un bon petit déjeuner avec vue imprenable sur les monuments antiques du restaurant de notre hôtel, nous partons voir la relève de la garde puis faire quelques caches dans le jardin royal qui était fermé à notre arrivée, Super ! Nous avions été très déçus de ne pouvoir aller dans ce joli parc qui était semble t-il fermé pour 4 jours.
L'après-midi Mary était un peu souffrante, je suis donc parti seul faire quelques caches sur le mont Filoppapou.
Le soir nous partons à pieds vers Thiseio, profitons d'un bon restaurant avec musiciens et deux chanteuses puis rentrons vers notre hôtel par des petites routes pittoresques.

Samedi nous étions de l'autre coté à visiter l'Acropole. Aujourd'hui je suis du coté "public" et c'est tout aussi magnifique. Cela rappelle Rome et le Colisée.
Après avoir fait quelques photos je rencontre un couple de Géocacheurs des Pays Bas. La Dame a vu mon Géopatch sur ma sacoche de géocaching, bien vu !
Nous discutons un peu, difficilement car mon anglais est très limité. Nous échangeons un TB et partons ensemble à la recherche de cette cache.
C'est moi qui met la main dessus. Nous découvrons dedans un joli TB. Ils procèdent à un échange pendant que je tamponne le logbook.
Une rencontre sympathique comme on aimerait en faire plus souvent.
Un PF car l'endroit est vraiment merveilleux !
