Nothing found at GZ. A discussion with a previous finder suggests that the cache is missing.
DNF spent almost an hour tonight on this with wheres wolly and couldnt find it. Owner needs to check whether its still there.
Off the good ship Sun Princess with m4yb looking forward to a new town with some new sites. Had a feel in the correct spot, but moved on and she made the find! Doh!
Thanks viper231.
Thanks viper231.
With a nice stroll around the Port Lincoln bay area trying our luck with some local caches, this one should have been easy... but just so happened, at the same time we start searching for the cache, the crew of a local trawler decided to disembark from their mighty ship. So the tourist act kicked in... and after a few pictures were taken, the cache was soon in hand. TFTC viper231.
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
Roaming Wendy very kindly came out with us for the rest of today and as a result, our find count increased as did the laughter in the car
Thank you for your company [^]
No time for fishing on this trip... only caching

I had a mans look.... no luck!!! Locus looked .... and found it!!!!
This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roaming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roaming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper231. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

Woo hoo!
Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
Thanks for the cache

Today we walked from the caravan park to the town of Port Lincoln. It is a very enjoyable walk. This was one of the caches we found along the way. tftc.
Sneaky one. We walked from the caravan park into the shopping district along the great walkway.
Co-ords on my GPS showed it to be in the middle of a paved road with nowhere to hide a cache. Looked everywhere nearby that I thought it might be but unable to find.
#2353 - Found by Bruce in a busy area. Fished it out, signed and watched some port workers nearly take out the adjoining gantry with a mobile crane.
All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle tour via the highest peak in each State and mainland Territory.

Out and about with Mrs & for an early morning walk. This as far as we went and then rang other team player to be picked up. Excellent hide here for the location. Thanks for the walk
Staying in Tumby Bay for a few days we set off finding the caches around here cleaning up a lot of unfounds from previous trips, TFTC
Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass (signed as m & p), at 0940. Our third day in Port Lincoln. Today, we cached our way around the local area again. Weather further improved, with only a couple of light showers today. This one was on our way back to the geoPrado after the previous DNF. Happily this one was a quick find. Our thanks to viper231.
Found at 9:41 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob. We signed the log book as "M&P".
Well that made up for the excessive time on the previous DNF - we found this one in the first spot we looked in [^]
We used to see lots of Little Penguins in Port Philip Bay and around Philip Island when we used to live in Victoria.
Thanks viper231.

Between grain trucks and fishing boats going out a very busy place today. Easy find TFTC
In Port Lincoln for a few days and managed to grab a few caches along the way.
Viper was kind enough to join me one night and gave me a tour around his city.
Fly in, Fly out and happy with a few finds.

Yay!! An easy one. Typically I left my pencil in the car far away so took a non spoiler photo. Thanks for the cache.
A quick find while waiting for a mate. It was in the first place I looked, but the second time I looked there. TFTC.
A great little cache chase worthy of a Fairy Penguin
It was an unexpected location for a cache, or even to normally be allowed near [:o]
Heaps of activity happening in every direction I looked !!
Amateur fishermen trying their luck, professional fishermen unloading the boat and packing the catch into freezer trucks, hi-viz jackets everywhere I looked and me, a lone geocacher amongst the mayhem
The cache was a nice easy find as I sipped a fizzy cola and relaxed for a while
