Decide to head north today to get away from the miserable Wellington weather. Most of the day was reasonably warm, but occasional rain and strong winds. On the whole the containers were great (2 or 3 inside each other) with dry logs, but the locations were mostly "throw me down" locations with very poor parking (if any) and lots of lunatics in this area driving down side roads at 100km/h+ speeds. Searched for a while using the hint but nothing found. Then happened to look down and saw it lying on the floor. I wedged it back in as there was no magnet anywhere to be found. T4TC
Heading North and taking a couple of planned detours. Have been eyeing up this plane series for a long time but never gotten around to it before. Today I took flight and knocked a few of them off. This was the first of them and a quick sign and replace. Thanks for the cache.
Hint no longer correct but cache in the expected location. Was hard to extract,as the container is rusty but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache, which I was pleased to find in my way from Levin to Wanganui.
Up this way again for work so took a late night, 6 hour/26km stroll.
I found this one on the ground so after signing, wedged it up higher.

Need to get out to receive our milestone of 600 finds. I texted Oliver to see if he wanted to come and you already know what he said.
We ended up finding 10 caches with 100% find rate! And got to our goal of 600 finds!
I wrote in the log and placed the cache back as found. TFTCSL, Thanks spudnz for this Traditional cache and keeping the game rolling.

Saw the remnants of cache here but no cache. Had a spare container so replaced. Hope this is ok.
Sign has been replaced. Found some sort of magnet but no cache in sight
7:21 PM
Anyway, Thanks spudnz for placing this cache

spudnz probably needs to stop by and give this cache some attention.

Competing in the World Blokart Champs at Sanson and Ohakea this week.
Have wanted to pick these up for years and I finally took the opportunity to grab this before heading home.
Surprised to see a brand new replacement log signed today, so must be following Tufty.

Last time I tried for this there was no cache, this time it was a mangled old thing with no log. Signed a replacement log and squeezed it into the sad container. Cheers spudnz!
Found cache how ever there is very little left of it. No log to sign to took photo as proof of find.
A bit surprised at this find - not what I expected! A destroyed container which was a spider habitat - but a perfectly good log book that has been signed very recently!
My first in the series. I'll only get four or five done this morning but it's a start. TFTC.

On our way to a car club meeting and taking the oppertunity to find a few caches on the way. Nice quick find. TFTC.
Picking up a few along the road. This is 8. There is a spider living in there. Be gentle.
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.
The container is broken in one end and exposed. How i found it offered a bit of protection, no magnet.

Decided to go for a drive for my birthday, the day NZ goes to red under traffic lights framework. I haven't cached for a while, so what better way to explore the country side. Thank you for the cache and information on the Tigermoth. This spot appears to be, where nearby locals leave their rubbish bags on collection day. 2 x Muggles driving past, wondering what i was doing. (probably thinking i was dropping off rubbish bag or going through it lol)

Nice and quiet at GZ, so a quick search and the cache was in hand. Only one car came passed us and they needed directions - hahaha we aren't even local and yet we looked like we knew what we were talking about. TFTC

Roadworks here, so May have been found by workies. Case cracked and wedged to back of ‘magnet’.
In Sanson Finding a few caches today. Thank you for the history lesson on planes and the placement of the caches
On outing with 6yr old grandson, who couldn't reach this one! The cache was quite damp, but still able to be signed. Thanks for the placement and bringing us to an area we hadn't been to before .
Hmmm, not so much "Magnetic", more "Crushed Plastic". However this one was easily spotted as I wandered up to the GZ. With a fairly quiet location it was no problem logging and returning this one even with milking in full force across the paddock. TFTC
Found at 6 September 2020 12:16 pm.
I'm on a two-day geocaching roadtrip, logging my finds as I go (where possible). Will expand when I get home. TFTC

A quick find here today thank you for placing a cache here. I was heading towards Fielding and decided to get a cache or two to complete the last challenge so I can start the new challenge n Wednesday. TFTC
Nice day out with tmann421 and blair137 hunting caches

Traveling up to Wanganui today and left myself enough time to do some caches in this area. No trouble here, TFTC
On our way back to Whanganui after collecting most of the Shield caches. Still had a bit of time and energy to collect some traditional caches. Found in an unusual placement. I think the lack of TLC has necessitated cache creep. Still able to sign the log and collect a smiley. Thanks
Well a great training aircraft for so many pilots. I was lucky to fly in a Tiger Moth at the Manderville airport years ago and the pilot did a double loop the loop, what a feeling. A great series spudnz, many thanks.
This needs some serious TLC. The container is broken, magnet rusted. I placed the whole container in a bag for protection from the elements. Mind you, not much elements to speak of - wish it would rain!! TFTC
Found today with a friend. At Harrisville speedway for the weekend. Nice hide. Thank you for the cache.
One of 30 caches located today in the Sanson/Ohakea/Bulls vicinity. Worth the special drive up from Wellington! I needed more than 25 to ensure this month’s total breaks my previous monthly record. Almost all quick finds, as was this one. No magnetic effect apparent. #3129. TFTC.
Found in full view on the ground, as per previous logs, the magnet no longer works. Replaced on more secure perch but it is still visible so needs attention.
Found it but not where we expected, clue said magnetic however magnet doesn’t appear to work
Love these old babies...it is great to see the odd one still flying around KL has replaced the log as its very second hand...a fav for your efforts and series thanks
This one had fallen off its perch and not magnetic.
Replaced log. Thanks for the cache spudnz
Replaced log. Thanks for the cache spudnz
The log is soaking wet and unsignable, and the container could do with being made more attractive so that perhaps it could be hidden more in line with how I suspect it was set up initially.
I'd had a pretty slack Geocaching month so far, and was in danger of not getting my normal personal monthly goal of at least 50 finds per month, so I decided to take advantage of the balmy evening weather to go back to a couple of areas I haven't spent enough time caching around before - Bulls and Feilding.
This particular cache was one that I had failed to find previously, so I was keen to put that right. Back then the place was a mess (see photo from previous log) and I was very glad to see that it was looking much better today. I found the cache pretty quickly as there were only so many places it could be. As others have mentioned, it's placement no longer fits the Hint and the log was soaked and unsignable so I took a photo of the cache which I will send to the CO if required.
Glad to turn the blue frown into a yellow smiley

Soaked.the clue doesn't seem quite right, but cache was found in the obvious place.
Passing here a year later and Mcjandals reminded us that we had got these Apologies for not logging them sooner This seems to be our area for Labour weekends So much fun with Team BOP So many road trails down here Thanks for putting them outTFTC
Driving past here today and noticed I haven't logged these caches. I found them last year on way home from Mega with McJandals and a few others from Teambop. Tftc
We are wandering around in the camper geocaching. The container was full of muddy water making the log unsignable.
Thanks spudnz.
Thanks spudnz.
Cache is definately there! I can even see it in the previous non finders photo. But one thing TwigNZ is correct about is that it does need maintenance, some serious maintenance, its no longer magnetic, waterlogged and log is pretty much unsignable.
After spending the day with Trayc.g, GigiEV and Go_Zz hunting for the stickman series, we got a few more on the way home in the Sanson area. TFTC
Found with Trayc.g, GigiEV and Juliusfamily. This was one of 10 caches found in Sanson after spending the day finding caches in the Stickman series. Over 60 caches found today. By this time GigiEV and I were ready for dinner but Trayc.g and Juliusfamily wanted a few more. TFTC
Now that I've taken a second look at this one, with the aid of the Hint and what GZ should look like (using Google Maps), it is clear that this cache has gone missing and needs replacing. I intend to be in the area in about 10 days time if you'd like me to replace the cache for you. Feel free to message me.
I had been wanting to have a crack at doing all these tempting caches around the Ohakea Airforce Base for some time now, and thanks to the great weather and a free afternoon, today became that day.
This was not a great start to my day. Arriving at GZ it was clear that this particular area now gets used as a bit of a dumping site. There was a fair bit of rubbish strewn around, and no sign of a cache. I widened my search, but to no avail.
I hope I'm wrong, but when combined with previous logs suggesting the cache container may be compromised, I would suggest that this one could do with some maintenance.

Found while travelling from Taihape to Palmerston North and took this short detour. The cache was quickly spotted lying on the ground and the container is not in keeping with the hint. Replaced in hopefully the right place.
Found itOn the ground so stuck it back onto the sign may need a stronger magnet Windy day
This cache was located on the ground and didn't appear to be magnetic so we have replaced in a suitable place but were unable to secure it in anyway. Owner may wish to check.
We had finished our days plan early so thought this little power trail would fill in the afternoon nicely. Think we did it the wrong way around as most of the caches were on the other side of the road but as it was so quiet it proved to be no problem. TFTC

Day 3/9 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. This was find #65/100 for the day and #134/526 of our trip.
Today was a numbers run of mostly PnG caches. We started in Palmy and set off to see if we could Spell, then headed up to Bulls and after that rounded up a few Smurfs, Herbs, Airplanes, Railway stations and anything else along the way until we came in to finish the KAS trail we started in Oct 2016. This one was just sitting there on the shelf we didnt have any magnets so we just put it back where we found it. We left our new signature item, a Rainbow Beadtail. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.

Found while out and about around the Manawatu on a caching expedition with Flowerydaze.
A quick find. TFTC

On a caching day out with Talla64 in very pleasant weather. We enjoyed the aircraft power trail, lovely countryside; in fact an area we have not been before. Thanks for all the caches.
Today was part two of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier, taking me from Taihape to Wellington... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. Apologies for the cut and paste logs... I really enjoyed driving around this trail finding all the aircraft related caches. Interesting descriptions too, now that I've had time to read them. Classic! TFTC, Biggles.
Decided on doing a few of these drive by caches whilst on my journey. Most were easy finds with the caches in good condition. This one however was lying on the floor, so put it back where I thought it should go. TFTC.
The magnets have gone off this cache and I just found it lying on the floor. I have put it back up but it is likely to blow out again with tge wind.
Its running around the back roads of Palmy for drivebys to get The Seagnoid his 10,000th cache.
Caught up with this Tiger Moth while resting in its hanger. Snagged and tagged. Cheers
Day 12 - Tuesday - Desert Road to Palmerston North.
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Tauranga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

It’s Day 5 of our 2018 WENZ MEGA crusade (the last day) and Team BOP were well represented by McJandals, NZFlossy, TNXPro, Davidson Clan, FapAndGap & Squirrel nutcase and myself.
We had a huge hit list for this affair so it was a little manic. We’ve signed our logs either individually or as ‘Team BOP’ for expedience (depending on log space, size or condition). A special thanks to all the CO’s and those who have helped keep these caches in good order.
This trail of caches I'd almost forgotten to log as I'd twisted both my ankles in Wellington and I was high on pain killers. Well they're logged now - cheers tommygun9, TFTC

Up for the Mega for the week, had a great day in the Bulls and the sunrounding areas many thanks to the cache placer's - Bitsprayer
Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
Cache dound on ground. Replaced as good as poss. Nagnetic not magnetic anymore. Tftc
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
Out behind Ohakea airbase, today getting a single cache for one of my many missing dots on my calendar matrix I can only grab one somewhat nearby cache at a time as I need to ration them in order to fill in the calendar matrix on a work day Of course if I decide to go further afield I will collect as many cache as I can
Found this cache lying on the ground could not see where it came from but place it off the ground just hope there are no strong winds well send a message to the owner.
Thanks for the cache

My bag, jacket, and food have been stolen the day before from the car, but thanks to Popmac I had batteries and some cache to keep myself busy until the flight in the evening. So that's what I did! I decided to find as many as possible with the petrol I had and driving without the driver side window. It did rain and hail some in the morning, but then it cleared up and it was all good except the wind! Thanks for all the caches along the way that helped me keep my sanity TFTC!!
Knowing full well that there's not a hope in hades that I'll get all the way to the 100-cache end goal of the current souvenir promotion, I'm trying to get a few more finds to get at least half way (to earn the second-to-last souvenir).
As of this morning, I need 11 more to get half way, and this circuit around Ohakea had 19. Sounds like a great morning out with the kids to me
Like others, I immediately found the magnet, but nothing else.
After reading some past logs, I soon found the temporary/replacement cache, and quickly set to fixing it up.
The cache is now at the location of the magnet, with only a slight modification to the container. But at least the cache can be found at the posted coords again

Found the magnet. Reread logs and found cache now by lamp post. Quick find at new site. TFTC
Needs maintenance ... only the magnet remains. Had a quick look but couldn’t see the log in the grass. TFTC
Found the stray magnet also, searched and found the log container left by previous cacher, thanks
I need to get a cache today as part of my calendar project (I also needed to get one yesterday, and I am rather upset that I STILL need to get one yesterday!) so after attending the event Etherlord and I scouted the map. Yeah, the event counts as a cache, but I may as well get a few more, given that I am not in my home town. And, of course, I am still working on the Planetary Pursuit promotion, even though I have shot well Pluto, and even Eris. Somewhere in the Oort Cloud maybe?
I'm doing a maintenance run and stopped off at Speedy Line Pit to check on the cache there - all good, no need to do anything. So I came up here to turn the car around. May as well stop and grab the cache. Like others, all I found was the magent. Well, I'm doing cache maintenance, so I may as well do cache maintenance. None of the fence posts looked suitable, so I dropped it at the nearby power pole. Is the other side of the powerpole a better location? Not only is it a better location, but there is a cache there! I recovered my cache and signed the log on the exisiting one. I should have left my cache behind - the existing cache had a very wet log, but it was RTR paper, so that's okay.
Would be nice if the CO could update the hint or at least come and do some maintenance.
